UPDATE: I returned this evening to give it a second chance. And it did not disappoint. The food was great and Maura was excellent at the bar. I was glad to see that changes were made based on the input from your guests, thank you. I will be back. (Thumbs up) !! Cute little place however they need help with the food. The eggplant was so old and tough, it was like leather. Obviously they saved it from long ago and when reheated it. Couldn t even compare to fresh eggplant. Please toss out the old eggplant and serve fresh eggplant every time. Waitress was very nice but didn t know the menu or the ingredients. I recommend this place only for the pizza.

Dolce Niente is nothing short of amazing! I love everything about this place. The staff is so caring and wonderful. The food is made with love and real ingredients. Loved everything here. The food had all the attention one expects from fine dining at reasonable prices, yet the full palette was delivered. The staff made certain we were comfortable without too much attention, perfect. And the restaurant is just right. The food here at Dolce Niente Ristorante Italiano (in Spring on Birnham Woods) is really good and is a must do for us on a regular basis. Service here is great and always pleasant. It s nice to see the owner around as well making sure all runs smooth. I want to mention Andrew (our waiter for tonight), he was amazing and made our experience wonderful! He attended to our every need and never missed a detail. I highly recommend these guys for a wonderful evening for couples and family.

First time here, awesome service and food. I had the pizza and my wife had the chicken piccata. I recommend to ask for extra sauce on the piccata, you ll love it. Andrew took good care about us and made us laugh with stories of his, delicate little flower, boss. We are not from the area but when we do get a chance to visit again we ll be bringing some miracle grow for his boss.

The employee working the phone and front today did not know what she was doing. She just answered the restaurant phone with hello like it was her personal phone and didn t know what was included in the Tuesday night spaghetti special. She charged us extra for drinks when they were supposed to be included. We also only got one dessert when there were supposed to be two. I m not coming here again after this bad experience. I shouldn t have to tell an employee what s on their own menu.

Inside, theres a charming brick oven. The cheesecake looked absolutely divine! We had a really lovely experience tonight. The outdoor space is top notch. Misters and fans for when it s hot and it looks like there are heaters for when it s cold. Signs state that the patio is pet-friendly also. We were pleasantly surprised by live music from Chris Lively, who was very good. The food was quite tasty. We found the prices to be a little higher than we d like to pay for pasta, but what with inflation, I can t say it s out of line. A lovely place for a relaxing time with good food.

If you are looking for traditional Italian dishes and affordable prices then do not go here. Even simple dishes like ravioli was not on the menu nor lasagna. They advertised veal in their meatballs but did not serve veal piccata or any other veal dish. But the biggest kicker for me was no free bread. I have been to 150 dollars a plate places and they all serve their special bread and olive oil and spices. Plus this place is way off the main path. Just for the choices and prices I would definitely go elsewhere.

This is by far the best Italian spot in Houston. My girlfriend and I frequent this place once a week. The appetizers, entrées, and drinks are all 10/10. The arancini is our favorite and go-to appetizer. The spinach and artichoke dip is also amazing. You can t go wrong with any of their main meals, the pizza, pasta, and sandwiches are all fantastic. For drinks, the lemon rita is my favorite drink served at any restaurant, but you can t go wrong with any of their signature drinks. As for service, all of their staff is extremely friendly, but we have become regulars of Andrew, and he is amazing. I highly recommend this place to all, and this is the place I take any company that I have.

I had chicken piccata. While the chicken was cooked well and tasted good the sauce itself looked like when I reheat it the next day. It looks oily instead of creamy. I came here for a date night with my wife, and Im glad we did. Dolce is an intimate and very relaxed establishment. There was great live music, in their lovely outdoor patio, that matched the vibe. The greeters were extremely polite and professional and were very patient in letting us decide where we wanted to sit. Peter, our server, was awesome. He was the perfect balance of efficiency and attentiveness without overcrowding. Our drinks and food came very quickly and were fantastic. This place is around the corner from my home. Having been to Italy a number of times, this restaurant is as close as I have had to authentic Italian food. Am excellent, independently owned, Italian restaurant in a great location! Weve been twice now and both experiences have been great. Whether it was pizza, lasagna, chicken piccata, or a peanut butter and chocolate cannolli, everything weve tried has been absolutely delicious. The service has been wonderful and weve even had one of the owners visit our table to check on us. They have a really cool bar area with a full bar of options for spirits. And, of course, a nice selection of wines. A must-try local gem and worth the drive if youre not local.

We went to Dolce Niente on a Sunday for a family brunch. We ve been here for dinner before and had a good experience and looked forward to trying out brunch. Let me tell you, they do brunch RIGHT! I m a fan of a traditional breakfast plate and I ordered that here. When I tell you I was still talking about this a few days later, I m not exaggerating. The eggs were cooked perfectly (over medium for me) and the bacon a good quality and crispy. The stars of this platter were the potatoes and toast. The potatoes are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The toast the perfect bread and was crunchy, but still tender on the inside. Bring all of the elements together and it was perfection! The others dishes we ve had a thoroughly enjoyed are the central sandwich, fettuccine Alfredo, arancini and brick oven flatbread. The servers and management are nice and knowledgeable. The restaurant is comfortable and easy to spend time in. They also have a patio for those nice days!

The food here is actually disgusting. Why is an Italian restaurant making tikka masala in the first place?? it was very bland and the chicken was undercooked; what a disgrace to Indian culture and cuisine? The staff were not friendly at all and i didn t feel comfortable being here during my dinner. I would definitely find another place to dine at; would rather had spent the $100 bucks elsewhere. If whataburger decided to make Italian cuisine i would eat there before here at least it tastes good.. with friendly service. take note of the less than 5 star reviews they aren t lying

Love the atmosphere service is great! Pizza is amazing. Born in New York grew up in New Jersey. I can say this is one of the best pizzas. I ve tried since I ve been here in Texas. Wish they had it in a bigger size like a New York style, but the cheese is amazing. The crust is wonderful. This evening we went over to a Dolce Niente for an early dinner. Where we were treated to a fabulous meal of flatbread, bolognese with a beef, veal and pork meat sauce with added shrimp, grated cheese and cracked black pepper. Finished off with a chocolate & peanut butter cannoli dessert. All paired with an Italian red wine with tobacco and mocha flavors. We shared the dishes as they are perfect for two. Not many nice places you can go, share a meal along with a bottle of wine for only $80 (not including tip)! Love that this is right near our neighborhood! My family has been on several occasions and everything has been delicious! The calamari is the best weve ever tasted. The pig & fig and the margarita pizza were very tasty as well as the shrimp scampi and charcuterie board. Nice wine selection. Customer service is great. If youre dining more than 2 persons, definitely make a reservation. I like the eclectic mix of modern and traditional decor.

We were a party of 5. We ordered 3 flat breads for an appetizer, all 3 of them were not fully cooked all the way through. One was returned and a new one was refired. Our waiter was impossible to find for simple things like pepper, water, cheese, etc. 3 in our party ordered the fettuccine, and all 3 of us were extremely disappointed. The pasta was flavorless, absolutely no seasoning and was drowning in butter. They didnt have salt, pepper, crushed pepper on the table. So again we had to try and track down our waiter. When we asked for cheese on our pasta, we assumed it would be grated fresh table side. Heck, even Olive Garden does that. Nope, we were given a shaker like we were at pizza hut. All 5 in our party were excited to try this restaurant since its close to our homes, but sadly it isnt a place we would return to.

I have never left one bad review in my life, I usually just move on. But I am pretty sad and disappointed with our experience here. I was looking forward to having a fun little family date night and it ended with an almost two hour visit with no dinner and a chick fil la visit on the way home. We had a 6pm reservation, arrived at 6pm. We have a small child and were sat at a high top. I asked if we could possibly have a low table and the look I received made me feel like I was asking too much so I said never mind we will sit here. So we did, and well, my kid fell off the chair onto the ground. So I went and asked again stating she had fallen. I received no response and no eye contact as he ran to our table and moved everything to a new one. We had ordered an appetizer and my daughter s food as soon as we sat down at the very first table. So about 6:05. We received my daughter s butter noodles at 6:35. She loved them! My husband and I had ordered our dinner at about 6:20. Pasta alla vodka and fettuccine Alfredo. Time passed and passed and passed. Finally at 7:30 I said to cancel our food because my daughter had school the next day and we still had to get her ready for bed. There was no apology from a manager, no reason as to why our food still hadn t come. And the worst part is everyone around us had ate, left, and new tables had arrived and had their food! I ve never left a place so upset. Also working in customer service for 22 years of my life I am mind blown by this.

It was my first time ordering and wanted to support a local business that is close to my home and work. Pasta dishes were lukewarm to cold, overly salty and flat bread was cold. It s a 5 min drive to restaurant and I was on time to pickup of food , based on the text messaging services. I was hoping this restaurant would have been my go to for my meals, during my work lunch hours and family meals. I was very disappointed. My goal for the time spent on a shared meal was to celebrate long term friendships with two other couples who are very special. I made a reservation and was greeted warmly, as were my friends. The service the entire night was impeccable. We began with cocktails, flatbread and marinated olives. We wanted to reminisce and move slowly through our meal. The general manager agreed and allowed me to signal our timing preferences for the next course presentation. Shortly we enjoyed the Giardino and Limone Caesar salads. We watched our pizza preparation and perfectly on que the pepperoni along with the pig and fig delights arrived. I m a pepperoni guy but found a new epicurean delight. I actually thought to myself Chef Bob had lost his mind. I could not have been more wrong! Try the pig and fig!!!!! A few more rounds of drinks and glasses of wine ensued. Again on que here comes the chicken and pasta. The piccata was excellent and the parmigiana was good. I cook a lot and chicken is difficult to make it taste like something special. I am unable to accomplish that feat but Chef Bob can and did. Then the real magic happened. We shared the Florentine steak. Two different tastes from the same steak. This was a gastronomic experience of shear delight. Enough I exclaimed. Wrong again. Here comes the tiramisu and the cannoli to put the coup de gras on a most wonderful dining experience. My goal was met. Friendships that have endured for over fifty years deserve special celebrations with a meal that will add to the pleasant memories. Dolce Niente s epicurean delights, coupled with their gentile impeccably friendly service completely enveloped the evening for me and my friends. Thank you Mr DeLaup and Chef Bob for creating this special place to which I will return.

What a nice family friendly Italian restaurant!! We decided to try this new place out and we are very glad we did. We were immediately warmly greeted upon entering. Our server took our drink order upon seating. We were also immediately served their flatbread which was delicious. We ordered the NY steak Carpaccio as our appetizer and it was very good. Some of the best beef carpaccio I have ever had. Our entrees consisted of the Pasta Bolognese and Shrimp Scampi Pasta. Both were very good. With all this good food and friendly terrific service, we plan to return soon. We cant waIt to try everything on the menu.

What an awesome restaurant, we were in town and stopped in for a glass of wine and a pizza. Nice staff and food was on point. We decided to go back for dinner, enjoyed the calamari, sausage and pepper pizza, chicken piccata, the Florentine steak for 2 along with some sides. All was excellent. The staff was friendly as well, our server mentioned how working there feels like family. I highly recommend Dolce Niente!!!
