I got the 5pc grilled chicken tenders, a side of macaroni (not pictured, and a side of the kale salad & sweet heat sauce. It was so good! The tenders were juicy and cooked very well. The kale salad is very similar to Chick-fil-As kale crunch, so if you like that, Id get it! Overall it was a god experience. :)

When this place first opened, we loved it. The tenders were large, tender, and juicy. The spiciness and flavor was awesome. We loved the hog heaven, and our daughter loved the bites. Then we noticed the tenders getting smaller, the staff got ruder, we even had to run our debit card for 30 something cents for another ranch for our daughter who spilled her original one. I stayed away from this place for 6 months, and decided to give it another go, because I remembered how good is used to be. I was disappointed. Small tenders, and the portions!!! The Hig heaven was half the size it used to be, and the side of fries was shockingly small, comparatively... and the prices went up.. The chicken when big and done right, theres no place better... But Im so sad, a place that could be sooooo good, but chooses not to be...

Great Food! Younger gentleman who helped us at the front answered all of our questions and gave great feedback on the menu items. Even called the manager to clarify what was gluten free, all with a smile! Clean restaurant, bathrooms were a little dirty but the food and atmosphere was phenomenal. I visited Cook Shack Barbecue on Memorial Day since my family was either at work or out of town. Despite being alone, I had a fantastic experience. I ordered the half rack of ribs with Texas spice and a side of macaroni, and I must say, everything was absolutely perfect! The ribs were cooked to perfection, with the meat falling off the bone and bursting with flavor. The Texas spice added just the right amount of kick to the dish, making it a memorable culinary experience. Moreover, the gentleman who took my order at the drive-through was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which added to the overall positive vibe of the place. I can confidently say that Ill be back at Cook Shack Barbecue without a doubt. I give this place a solid 10 out of 10 for their delicious food, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone craving top-notch barbecue in the area!

They changed the recipe and the quality. These chicken sandwiches are not nearly as good as they used to be. The batter is not as crispy and it lacks color. Also, I wish they would quit stiffing me on sweet potato fries. 8 fries for $3? It s pretty clear that the five star reviews on this are a joke.

Enjoyed a great lunch of grilled chicken breast, ribs (which I ordered dry) and a side salad. I ordered the grilled chicken spicy and the rub used was superb, just right on all counts. Side salad was a generous serving at a great price. The 1/4 rack of ribs a larger than expected potion, very tender and moist with a nice and subtle smoke flavor. Finally, the service from the manager Adam and his crew was also spot on. Very nice atmosphere as well. Made for a relaxing meal.

Have only gotten the Hog Heaven. It is deboned ribs, cole slaw, BBQ sauce and some other sauce piled on top of French fries. It is very good. I order it with everything separated (that is, not put on top of the French fries). They are happy to do that. But my companion prefers it the original way.

This place is pretty good. Clean environment, the food is pretty tasty, and the staff are pleasant. However, its fairly pricey. $72 for a family or four. Two of us got the quarter-rack (three ribs) and two tenders and fries. One got the quarter rack and fries, and one got three tenders and waffles. All of us got drinks. $72 is a bit steep to me. Additionally, they dont give you a lot of fries. I would say amount was the equivalent of a small fry at McDonalds.

Wow, this place really surprised me. I went at prime lunchtime, and there was a line, and i couldnt believe how fast it went and how fast i got my food. (Fast, friendly service) it was like all the employees owned the place. Great place, and i havent even gotten to the food yet! Food is great & for the most, part the staff is great. Manager is LESS than attentive or accommodating. We go there every weekend at least 1-2 times. We spend about $66 for lunch & they dont give dipping sauce with sandwiches any more (not even 1) & only allow 1 for strips. Ketchup is free but ranch is extra. $66 on lunch & we cant get 2 cups of ranch for 2 of the meals we ordered without paying more. Managers response, it says it right on the menu, without even looking at me. RUDE - its unfortunate because we love the food & that is not the way to treat customers.

I heard good things about this place and decided to give them a try with my husband. Not a lot of people during lunch so we got our food quickly. The food was a disappointment, we ordered mild chicken and waffles and it was so bland. The chicken had no salt, the only thing you could taste was black pepper. The ribs tasted great and fall off the bone! They were just a bit too salty for me, however I still enjoyed it. The fries were crispy and had a good flavor. The ice cream cookie was alright. I did like this place but I got a order to go of hot chicken tenders Sunday evening and halfway through I wasn t paying intention but the chicken wasn t cooked all the way. After 24 hours the Salmonella kicked and I ve been extremely sick and have food poisoning. This was the only meal I ate that day and it takes 8-72 hours to kick in and I got sick right at the 24 hour mark so I know this was the only thing that it would have been.

AMAZING CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! The waffles are so fluffy, and the chicken is delicious. The portion/amount of food you get is also great and makes the price more than resonable. If youre not in the mood for a waffle (I get it, but youre missing out) They have a delicious selection of chicken and other meats (like ribs). If you like spicy things, this is definitely the place for you. Although I personally have a low spice tolerance so I went with plain. They have a large scale of hot levels for you to choose from. I had the Half Rack of Ribs it was just 5 bones (not half rack) anyone who bbq and buy ribs know that thats not half a rack. Its advertised as Applewood smoked, its not. Ive heard of The Cookshack for a while and finally got to stop in on my lunch break. The fries were awesome! I cant stress enough how ridiculously good the fries were, they really took me by surprise. As far as the ribs go, Im not sure what I was expecting. I didnt think they were going to be on par woth an expensive BBQ joint like Corkscrew but for the price I was hoping they would be, they werent. They were relatively dry and over sauced but the flavor was good, they were meaty and somehow, even though they were overcooked they came right off of the bone with ease. They actually surprised me too because they were far better than I assumed when I saw them on the plate. The chicken strips were probably the biggest letdown but I enjoyed them too. The breading didnt stay crispy so they were pretty soft but the chicken itself was juicy and reminded me of the old Chilis chicken Crispers, just without the crisp. I got the 2nd hottest seasoning and to my surprise instead of a traditional Nashville hot flavor it reminded me of a salty Cajun seasoning like Tony Cacheries. Ill definitely give The Cookshack another try, maybe they were having an off day.

This location is very clean and got fresh food with great service. We ordered Texas hot ribs and chicken tacos and they were delicious. The food was well seasoned. They also have tv with sports channels on but it s definitely not a sports bar atmosphere. Great spot to chill, eat, and have a beer. Parking: Great parking

I have been here several times now and every time the food is excellent. We went again today with my wife and sister-in-law and we all had the classic chicken sandwiches. They are juicy and the beer-battered breading is the bomb. To help make the experience five stars was the awesome service from Mary and Xavier. They re super friendly and it s so obvious that they care about their customers and the work that they do.

I sat at the mobile order pickup lane for 11 minutes (2:45pm-3:01pm) and still had to park my car and walk in to even be acknowledged. The man working did nothing to help and the girl working the cash register was sitting there looking off into space for half the time I was in the lane. Leslie was the cashiers name on the receipt, however not sure how accurate this is. Despite all that, the food was delicious, albeit cold. On top of it all I only received one blue cheese sauce, despite ordering two. Probably wont be coming back until new management is established.

We both got the tender and waffle plate. The waffles were the best. I asked for extra syrup and only got one container in my dish. I told the lady, she could put honey mustard in as the second one for husband. They didnt listen and did it for both. The chicken was okay. Their fries were really good. Im not sure if Ill go back or not. I might to try something else. But Ill be weary to fact if they can get my order right right. If you like spicy chicken or chicken with heat... They have it here. No I didnt try this time.

My husband and I love this place. The chicken is well fried and crispy, super fresh and delicious. The portions are generous and fairly priced. And the ranch is soooo yum. A good place to stop by for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and just chill with chicken tender and ribs.

Google says you guys are open but I went there at 4pm today, on Wednesday may 3rd and you guys were closed. We drove over an hour to your spring location in accident traffic only to arrive to a locked door and a woman inside pointing outside (to the drive thru?) Nothing was posted on the door or on Facebook or here on Google as to why you guys were closed or that the drive thru was only open. If I have to go looking for a reason why youre closed, you didnt communicate well enough. This place has good food and Ive been once before. Bit the one time I try to take my wife youre closed. How will I know when I drive an hour to your location that youll be closed if you dont post it anywhere?

The chicken was extra crispy which was great in taste and the skin was not overpowering to the taste of the chicken, but the fries were mediocre and the slice of bread felt like an afterthought. I did try my husband s mac and cheese and that was so delicious and creamy. My order was forgotten about and brought to me last while my family all received their food but that issue was resolved once I let the staff know, so I was cool with it once they resolved it. Staff was friendly. I also really enjoyed how chill the restaurant was. Not too crowded and roomy. Good place to lounge. Fairly inexpensive. No real complaints about this place but unfortunately nothing really stood out and I don t really see a difference from other chicken restaurants.

I love this place. I d say Cookshack is in my top 3 places for best hot chicken sandwiches in Houston. I always get the medium chicken sandwich with dragon fries. The bun is amazing, the chicken is perfect and that shack sauce always hits the right spot. I usually go to the location on Washington Ave but tried the Spring location for the first time and the taste is just as good. Highly recommend!

Been here a few times and love this place. My Go-To is the chicken sandwich with Texas hot sauce and extra pickles. The chicken and waffles is really good too. Between the Texas hot and the spicy version of their fries, it ll have your mouth watering and nose running. Would recommend. They also have a bar.

First and last time going. I ordered the Hog Heaven it consisted of fries ,coleslaw and little meat off the bone mixed together. Never in my years have I ever been served a platter like this. It was small pieces of meat and I bit into small bones. It shouldnt be mixed with the coleslaw and fries!. I expressed my concern with one of the manager who offered me a dessert for my troubles.
