Pizza was bad, real bad Crust was flavorless and a bit dry Sauce tastes like a watered down version of a quality sauce The cheese had zero flavor when I got home I tested my taste buds on a few other things to make sure my allergies weren t affecting my experience Basil was cut into strips and lacked freshness A couple other family members tasted it with mixed reviews, funny enough my teenage daughter thought it was great. Maybe the other sauce & cheese options are better? This was a takeout order and I immediately drove back to return the pizza but there was no parking spot.. after driving around twice I gave up and decided to chalk it up to a bad experience. Original review 2023: Fun menu, lots of options. Pizza is pretty good, the crust is surprisingly satisfying even though it s not the Neapolitan style I prefer. It s thicker with more substance. Toppings were quality I had the Bees knees slightly spicy from the pork and a touch of sweetnesses from the honey

Very pretty restaurant and the pizza here is delicious! We ordered carry-out and still had amazing customer service too. We ordered the pink piggy, but that s not all we left with. One of the managers, I think his name is Tristan, heard us talking about the Bees Knees and added that to our order on the house. We will definitely be back on account of the delicious food and amazing customer service! :)

We love to stop at this place on Sundays after church. We usually order the spicy wings, the classic Rossa pizza and lemonade. In my opinion, their selection is abit limited, but they have perfected their offerings. I would highly recommend Taverne Rossa if you are looking for good pizza and excellent ambiance.

I have lived in this area for quite a while and have eaten EVERYWHERE! Taverna Rossa is somewhere I have never tried so I did on a whim. I am so glad I did. Everything I ordered was FABULOUS! I had the pepperoni pinwheels, deviled eggs, and stuffed mushrooms then we ordered a pizza. It was all great. I have told everyone about it and cannot wait to go back. BTW my tab was under $60.00. You have to try it!

Last night was our second visit to Taverna Rossa and we were lucky enough to get Rob as our server again! He is a fantastic ambassador for TR. He told us about the live music and invited us to come back next week for one of the most popular bands. Thanks for the date night suggestion, Rob! First and foremost our server, Priscila, was the best part of an already incredible dining experience. She understands how to put people first, tends to any and all needs with excellence, even anticipating our needs before we knew we had them, and truly carries joy and warmth with her that is infectious. Was very very impressed with this restaurant all round! Biggest surprise was the speed of service. Rob our server was excellent. Drinks and food were at our table minutes after ordering (and we were upstairs!). He said he typically does about 25k steps a day! Anyway, food was terrific, had the Brisket Lasagna and Local Goat & Fig pizza. I had a hard time keeping myself from licking the plates! Might have if wife wasnt there. Great draft beer selection to go w/ food, and was a casual comfortable atmosphere w/ a mix of families and couples. We are returning this next Friday! Definitely give them a try.

Sat at bar. Service fast but not attentive. When my pizza came, the server set down the pizza and asked if I wanted a plate. Yes please. I got a plate. Then she asked, Do you want a napkin? Yes please. And silverware. These items are literal table stakes for eating. And it s not okay to turn your head when other customers play long, super loud videos are played on speaker. I recently visited Taverna Rossa in Southlake for lunch, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Food: - Hummus Starter: The hummus was delicious, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. It was served with fresh, warm pita bread and a variety of fresh vegetables, making it a great way to start the meal. - Garlic Toast Grilled Cheese:This dish was a highlight! Made with sourdough bread, mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, pepperoni, and soppressata, it was a delightful blend of flavors. The bread was perfectly toasted and garlicky, and the combination of cheeses with the savory meats created a satisfying and indulgent sandwich. - Tomato Soup: Coupled with the grilled cheese, the tomato soup was rich and flavorful. It had just the right balance of acidity and sweetness, making it a perfect companion to the sandwich. Overall Experience: The food at Taverna Rossa Southlake was outstanding. Had to update my review. After about five years of coming here, had a terrible experience because of Roy. We stopped in for a happy hour drink before dinner. Had a single drink, went across the street for dinner where we had one margarita. Came back after dinner and ordered another round. After being served my husband asked Roy if the drink he ordered had changed because he had been ordering it for the past five years and it now came in a different glass with a different garnish. Roy got defensive and insisted it was the same and then said that this would be our last drink as I (not my husband who asked a simple question) had too much. Leaving my previous review below as this place is awesome but the Roy experience left a very bad taste in our mouth. This is an awesome place. We love to go here for happy hour. The drinks are amazing, the food always tastes great and service is top notch!! Still one of our favorites and they have added a few new items to the menu.

Our family cannot rave enough about the manager Chelsea. We initially were sat outside and after a few minutes of gross Texas heat, we asked to be sat inside. Chelsea immediately found a table to move us to. She introduced herself to us, including our 88 year old great grandmother (who does not tolerate heat well) and was immediately understanding of our request and fully accommodating. Chelsea is genuine, personable, kind, funny and attentive. She believes in connecting with her customers and making their experience enjoyable and as comfortable as possible. She took time to come talk to us after her shift was over and connected and laughed with our great grandmother over some commonalities. We cannot thank Chelsea enough for how wonderful she was. We adore our great grandma and we re so glad she did too.

Stopped by for the first time today and glad we did. Ordered the classic Rossa pizza and was surprised how large it was! Eating by myself it s was too big! The tomatoes were not soggy and didn t make the crust soggy, perfect crispy crust! The artichoke and chicken were enough to see and taste, not overpowering the complete pizza. Overall it was very good. Other guest ordered a Rustic Apple salad and it was happy with the taste. The vinegarette was a little strong, but had great flavor.

Our favorite pizza place in DFW. Food last night was excellent as always. Love the queso with fritos dippers. Pizza was cooked perfectly, the beer selection is excellent, and the bourbon selection is wide. Pro tip...ask for their Restaurant 33 picks (Always good choices and very reasonable prices for a pick). Service was on point and the atmosphere is great. They have live music on the weekends so be prepared for it to be a bit loud. Make your way to this great pizza spot. You will not be disappointed.

Good upscale pizza spot, even if it is a bit chaotic. Once you finally find parking in this patch of Southlake retail and walk up, the fair-sized covered patio can be pretty inviting. However, if you brave the indoor area, youll feel like youve stumbled into a college town pizza pub for the middle-aged. The wooden interior and high ceilings combine for a noisy environment once it starts getting busy. After being seated, we watched servers and food runners scurry around from table to table, trying to keep up while simultaneously missing an opportunity to greet us and get drinks started (took a good 5 minutes to reveal who was working our table). But honestly, these are minor gripes in the big picture here. Once they arrived, our server was friendly and quick on the drinks when they werent rushing between tables. We opted for the family dinner, which is both a good deal and a lot of leftovers if you have 4 people or less. We added a meatball appetizer, and the seasoned meat and marinara went great with the perfectly toasted bread. The pretzel that came with the dinner package was okay, but honestly felt more like a giant, twisted breadstick (the queso that we paid extra for didnt do it any favors, either). The farm style salad was actually really delicious, probably helped by coating the whole bowl with ranch. This is also the point of the dinner when we realized that we needed to hurry up and finish our first course(s), as table real estate was VERY limited for us, and a big pizza was soon to be en route. The Classic Rossa came out piping hot, but still soft enough that toppings were hanging on for dear life as I scarfed each delicious slice. If youre an older pizza fan, or just a family thats had enough CiCis for a while, youll like the step up in class this pizza place provides. Vegetarian options: Veggie pizza and salads

Met a friend here for lunch on a Friday. I will say the food was pretty good. However, it was probably the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. The service was awful. We had to ask for our waiter to wait on us after we waited a good 16-30 minutes. No one even approached us after we were seated. Our waiter acted like we were keeping him awake. We ve eaten at the restaurant several times and this was not good. We had to run him down to get Togo boxes and our check.

Tavernas has become our favorite pizza joint. We tried a new place in Southlake and left disappointed. Came to Tavernas for the Bees Knees as we are never disappointed. However, they did run out of my banana bourbon which is to die for!!!!!! You will not regret eating here.

Easily the worst pizza Ive had in a restaurant that I can remember. I just ordered a classic, plain pepperoni. Every element simply was not good. Pepperoni coverage was maybe 30% at best and I would expect 50 to 70%. The sauce was bland, like it just went straight from a can with a little bit of warming. The crust was anemic and also bland. I wonder if they didnt use any salt. Imagine a pizza crust made out of matzah crackers. Did I just get the one crummy pizza for the night or are all these other positive reviewers just crazy for bad pizza? I am no expert, but I have made plenty of great pizzas at home of various styles and flours, learning from some of the best. Ive worked in many restaurants and am also an avid home cook.

Update from August 2023: I went back with some friends and had more incredible pizzas. I still prefer the pink piggy over the meat lovers one we got, but they were both delicious! It wasnt nearly as noisy as the previous visit. ****** First visit: The pizza was EXCELLENT! We ordered the pink piggy and devoured it. It also came out very quickly. I wish wed just waited to get appetizers there during our wait instead of going elsewhere. The only reason Im taking off stars is because it was so noisy, and there was a large group they were trying to get set up behind us that caused a lot of shifting right around ours. The waitress did apologize for the chaos. Ill definitely be back if Im in the area again!

The wife found this restaurant on the map prior to leaving home to try out as our usual places are getting boring and this by far was a OUTSTANDING pick. For drinks, I had 2 of the AE Texas Honey and cant for the life of me what the wife had for local beers. For starters, both of us had the Taverna Pretzel with Queso and the small panzanella (both were awesome) and for dinner, I had the chicken parma and the wife had the pink piggy but when the dinners came out, my plate arrived but for some reason or another, the wifes was dropped. Either way, the dude behind the bar re-ordered and compd the pizza. Just outstanding to do that without asking. So after the bill arrived, I just compd the dude along with the tip for the outstanding service. Definitely will be coming in the near future. Thank you very much Taverna Rossa!!! Two happy customers for sure

Lucas was amazing. The ranch is bussin ! I can t get enough of this place. Roy is a cute tater tot- but Lucas is who keeps bringing me back. I can t wait to see him again. Side note- the Bee s knees pizza is fire. Vegetarian options: All the drinks and anything besides the meat basically! The food- was meh. I was disappointed because when you walk in there is a huge brick oven, but when you get the food- it was clearly cooked on a pan. Shame. The sauce is barely on the pizza and bland. Kids hated it. The pin wheels were not cooked in the middle and the salad had WAY too much dressing and mozzarella cheese? That was confusing. I was generous with 2 stars because of the server. Will not be back- better off going anywhere else.

Great place and pizza is really good! Would be nice if they would let you join the wait list for more than 6 people. If you have a large party I recommend getting there an hour before the time you need to get on the wait list. Parking is very limited also. Service was great considering how busy they were.
