After so much time of trying to find justice with our children s father, we received it today because of Tom McElyea. If I could compare Tom to anyone in court, Tom is Rocky Balboa. He is a champion, there is no doubt! From our family, he receives a continued standing ovation and there are not enough words to describe how incredibly grateful we are for his diligence and quit whip. Tom, Thank you for advocating for our children and being their voice.

Tom took a case that meant the world to me. He told me hed have the contract/demand letter within a week. I sent him detailed letters as requested by him. Hed say out of town - next week when I would reach out. My family reached out to him he spoke to them an hour. We were supposed to go and meet him and he did not answer our calls. I told him often while waiting how grateful I was often as I sent detailed and painful information before he took my case as per his request before he took and I sent several following - and the seven months after while he claimed he was working on it. and the hope that he brought to what was a very serious violation Id suffered the consequences for years with. After sending detailed, personal, hard to write (re traumatizing) but willing to tell my story finally after he accepted my case at least SEVEN months went by. I would say are you getting my message? YES. He would say. He made commitments and promises and made himself out to be someone that cared about victims. Then he told me out of the blue after waiting SEVEN hopeful, patient months, e mailing, telling me Id have documents and contracts next week then it would be next two weeks. Said he couldnt speak to my bf due to client/attorney privilege. being patient and grateful he then said was going to charge me thousands up front after waiting and corresponding and WAITING atleast six months - when I finally said can you please tell me when you will be doing what you promised and have led me to believe for months- never stated that when he took my case nor the seven months of correspondence -and not actually follow through with what he had said he would. When I was pondering what to do when he suddenly needed thousands to do what he said he would do for seven months - which was never asked when he took my case and literally strung me a long knowing every bit of re living it was painful and personal - and I also told him I had turned down another lawyer and picked him, he waited two days and then said (after he never followed through, made false promises, never apparently read everything hed asked for and Id sent to him though told me he did) that he was moving on after just two days of thinking about it while he took eight months leading me on in literally every way I have all of the messages/txt - asking for thousands to do a hundredth of the work he said he was doing all along. I have been absolutely floored and it was been gut wrenching and heartbreaking. as have those around me even other lawyers. Not even a PHONE CALL in the end. I do not write reviews but in this case I have researched and it goes beyond unethical in my opinion borderline cruel. Actually cruel. . Quite a shame when he claims to stand for sexual victims. I have read his google reviews some were negative - they seem to have been removed now but I still went with him as he made me feel heard and that I could trust him in our initial phone call. . If you want someone who is honest and actually sincere and genuinely cares - Id highly suggest you do not use this man. Dont walk, run. Literally if you have a loved one that has been wounded seek someone who is honest, communicates and doesnt lie, not follow through, claim to be doing what he is not - make commitments - string you a long MONTHS, allow you to re live your trauma to HIM - received your correspondence, string you a long months allow you to keep writing believing he will do what he says he will .... knows youre waiting on him, knows how painful it is - only to have been doing nothing but allowing you to wait and re live your trauma and asking for cash up front in the end for a hundredth of the work I was told he was doing all along is beyond sketchy and in my opinion and other very cruel. When I even told him calmly how deeply it affected me, zero response.

Super appreciative of Tom McElyea. We have used Tom s services on two separate occasions and both worked out extremely well. He was quick to respond, knowledgeable and very fairly priced. I was referred by a friend who had similar results and have referred him to others that would say the same.

A Texas Lawyer that you can trust 5.0 stars Posted by Dale September 16, 2023 Over the last twenty something years, Tom has handled different issues for myself, my wife, relatives, and my parents. We have all been very satisfied with the outcomes that Tom has gotten for us. Tom is the only lawyer that I will go to for legal help.

I have used this attorney on several minor issues that could have turned into big issues. Tom McElyea has performed beyond expectations in each case, constantly keeping in touch with me. When he was referred to me by a friend, he was described by my friend as a bulldog, and that is accurate. If you want an attorney that is not afraid of a fight, Tom is your guy.

If anyone is ever in need of a hard nosed attorney that gets the job done this is the person for you . My case was very very unique to say the least , I contacted quite a few attorneys , and none would even give me the time of day , Tom took my case , and got the ball rolling immediately , now Id say in less than 3 months my case is settled and I will say this , I was completely blown away on the settlement amount never did I expect this outcome Tom McElyea believed in me and showed it when no one else I MEAN NO ONE ELSE DID , he put a dent in the other sides pocket , Im forever grateful to this Attorney !!! He put a end to a horrible chapter in my life , saved me in so many ways !!! Plus hes a very down to earth guy !!!

I ve had the opportunity to seek out Tom s assistance on two separate occasions over the last few years one regarding a family law and custody case, and the other pertaining to a corporate compensation and negotiation issue with a previous employer. In both cases, Tom provided superior customer service surrounding three (3) key attributes quality, time and cost. Moreover, he totally embraced the first rule for any new client . . . active listening in order to gain a full understanding of the client s legal issues, goals and objectives. Ultimately, the final attribute to Tom s success, we actually achieved our planned goals and objectives!

Thomas McElyea was hired to represent my 85 year old mother in a law case with a large trucking company. A driver of an eighteen wheel truck failed to stop at a traffic light and totaled my mothers SUV. She received injuries that took months to heal. Mr. McElyea was extremely professional in his representation of my mother and with his interactions with the trucking firm. He was very friendly and kept us well informed through the whole process. My mother was very pleased with the results of this case. Both of us would highly recommend Mr. McElyeas law firm.

Tom McElyea represented me and from the moment we spoke on the phone, Tom was attentive, sympathetic and on top of my case - asking for all the details and taking note. He was incredibly quick to advise & respond, and every time I reached out, I heard back from him within hours. He was intuitive to sense my distress and would often help calm my nerves when certain issues arose with my case. He was assertive and unyielding to the defendants and their lawyer when I felt weak and uncertain, which made me witness just how hard he was going to fight on my behalf. Mr. McElyea was very matter-of-fact, which I sincerely appreciated and desperately needed. He is definitely a no-fluff kind of lawyer - I always had a very realistic understanding of what I could expect, the possibilities of my case (both good and negative) and even an understanding of what the defendants moves meant. When we ended up entering a settlement agreement, Mr. McElyea was able to secure much more than I originally anticipated, exceeding my expectations. I am extremely happy with Tom s work on my behalf on my injury litigation. He is working against three different insurance companies were three different lawyers, and is doing a great job of handling the case.
