Travelled from NM for work and drove 30 minutes to come to this Cheddars. The waitress came and got my drink and food order and my food came out within 5 minutes of ordering! The food came out before my drink was even here. Very, very happy with this place and service! Highly recommend! Oh! And the food came out incredibly delicious for being done in such a quick manner!

When your favorite steakhouse is full, dont discount Cheddars. Usually I have no wait when I visit, especially when I join the list ahead of time. Service is excellent and they took excellent care of my family and me. Food was excellent and the Monte Christo is superb.

Terrible customer experience. We arrived at a non-rush hour time (4pm), and were promptly seated across from the loudest table in the restaurant. We asked our waitress if she could find another section to seat us at and did not hear back for roughly 18 min. Our food was also over a 40 min wait. Had dinner at Cheddars. Sat at the bar. The drinks were just ok. Our second round tasted different than the first round . I wouldn t go back for the drinks when there are better places for a great margarita. The bartender had very little personality. No smiles or welcoming vibes. We had to wave her down for drinks and to order food. It was busy but she wasn t rushing around like she had a lot to do, definitely not busy enough that you cannot see the people right in front of you. The food was excellent (and the redeeming thing that got them 3 stars), other than the extreme amount of carrots in our salads . See photos. Not the worst place I ve been but I wouldn t go back when there are other options I haven t tried yet.

I really enjoy eating at Cheddars as I can find something for everyone. But the one in San Marcos has been by far the worst Ive ever been to. The first time it was during covid and was so-so... The second time was recently and it was horrible. The green beans were way too sweet, the meatloaf looked like it had been warmed up in a broiler and was dry, and the chicken tenders felt and tasted as if they had been microwaved. The chicken and breading were actually rubbery, like what happens when you heat up leftovers in a microwave. The meat loaf was seared on the edges and sides which tells me it wasnt fresh. I will not be back to this particular Cheddars ever again.

If I could give negative starts I would. We come here pretty much every week. We have always enjoyed our service and food. Tonight we had the same waitress as last week who was not friendly. We waited over 35 mins to get croissants. When we asked the waitress she gave us a nasty attitude (stated they needed to cook more and would take an additional 20 mins). This would have been nice to know before waiting awhile for our appetizer. Once our food was brought to the table half wrong, we had then asked again for croissants as we saw multiple other tables besides us receiving them as soon as they sat down. At the end of our meal we pulled the manger working name Justin who was always very nasty with us and stated he would talk with her. No apologies, no offer to make it right. They were also super understaffed and had our waitress working the bar and had several tables stay dirty for 20+ minutes. We will take the time to drive to another location to receive better service.

Our server (Gabriella V, according to the receipt) was excellent. She s the reason I ll be eating lunch here every Saturday from now on. I also now know the difference between a pint and a pilsner! I enjoy this location, but I am sad to see how rundown it has started to feel. The servers are good, and the atmosphere is okay, but the food has lost its touch. It tastes very bland. This location reminds me of an average Applebees. Itll work if youre in a pinch. Plus, the drinks are delicious. So if you go, order a Painkiller. Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free options that are pretty good. I got the chicken and shrimp with no sauce. It tasted okay. It had a pineapple salsa instead. It was good.

We stopped to eat on our way back to Austin after a long day. It was around 4:20p on Sat, April 27. Nice restaurant. Decent food and drinks. My husbands fries were cold but fresh ones were brought. His burger was good and so was the salmon I ordered. I had a Pain Killer and he had a patron margarita. They were both yummy and very decently priced. When we were being seated, we had asked the hostess if we could have the booth behind the table she was seating us at and she said she didnt have a booth but that we could wait longer for one if we wanted. We took the table so we didnt have to wait, telling her not to worry about it we just thought we would ask since it was open and clean, only to watch her seat other people at that booth about 10 minutes later. Same section, same server. She had a very flippant attitude. We were kind to her so not sure why she did that. She also cut her eyes at me once while she was sweeping the bar area. Idk. Dont think Ill go back to this location, though I would go to a Cheddars again.

The honey rolls were a little on the burn side and was tried to be covered up by the honey butter. My wife and I walked over from our hotel to have a drink after a long day seeing the sites. My wife likes spicy margaritas, but they dont offer one. We asked our bartender Kaitlyn about this and she immediately suggested she could make it spicy with some pickled jalapenos. It was awesome. First visit to this location was short. I walked in to sit at the bar where there was no bartender present for 3-4 minutes. While waiting for service I observed gnats flying around the draft beer dispensers. I then saw the gnats sitting on top of the straws, stirring straws and napkins. When the bartender arrived I immediately made them aware of the disgusting, unsafe and unhealthy area. I refused to eat or drink in the restaurant, reported this to the manager and even suggested that she shut the bar and area down. This was a horrible experience and made me concerned about the other customers who may be exposed health hazards. Gnats are developed from poor sanitation and show that this restaurant is not clean and are exposing its customers to disease from contaminated food/drinks and other health hazards.

I wish there was more managers or management like him , if at any time there is an issue he comes out and expertise it I am thrilled with the service and for that reason I keep coming back to this establishment I will give this place to come up and its my favorite restaurant , there is no other restaurant that is in par with the food , establishment ,and staff at Cheddars in San Marcos Texas. The baby back ribs were absolutely horrible. The worst I have ever been served. They tasted as though they had been cooked the previous day, smothered in Barbecue sauce and brought back in a microwave. They were not eaten in the restaurant but taken back to the hotel, and disgarded. This is the last time I will trust this restaurant to serve bood food

I love Cheddars. Theyve got the best food and their employees are so friendly. Ive been picking up lately and my orders are always correct and the food is so good. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Alfredo with broccoli and the portion was enough for two. I also ordered the Dijon Chicken & Mushroom dinner, it was so delicious!! Very tasty. I had the T-Bone. It was supposed to be medium rare. Im not sure how they managed to get part of it medium rare and another part medium and still another part closer to medium well but they did. Also, the flavor was not very good. I have had steaks at other Cheddars restaurants that were perfect but this time the food was not as good. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean.

Take out to go order for the first time on Sunday. I ordered the Monte Cristo and dont often say this about food but I am in love! I dont eat fried food very often but the description of this sounded so good on the website I went for it. The description didnt even do it justice! I also was only able to eat one half of it so I had the other half to heat up for lunch today as well. It was just as good next day. I still wont eat fried food often but when I do I am going to get this. It was out of this world. I was able to change the side from the default fries to coleslaw. Their coleslaw was delicious too.

The waitress was friendly and attentive. The manager on duty made rounds and greeted us as well as thanked us when we left. The food was great and more than I could eat. The only negative was the hostess. She clearly did not want to be there. She did not smile and she was very curt when she spoke to us. She leaned on the counter playing with her phone.

My boyfriend and I went to go eat there earlier today. The service good of been a little bit better. Our waitress Emily good of done a better job waiting on us. She never came and asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. We waited a good while until she came and asked us what we wanted to drink. We must of waited about 10 minutes or so until she came. Some other people showed up and she was there waiting on them real quick. They were not even there 5 minutes when she asked them what they would like to drink. But anyways the food is always been good. The first time I have eaten at a Cheddars has been in the Dallas area. The food has always been delicious and great tasting. But for some reason here in my hometown it doesnt seem that good. We had ordered the chips and queso. It wasnt that good. The queso could of been better.
