Well last night confirmed why chilies in san Marcos is a no go for me. The hostess was sooooooo rude. Catered to everyone else who sat after us, but did not listen to anything we had to say or asked for. Our waiter was amazing, but probably because she mentioned to him we were going to be a special table. Lol, I use to work in fast food, we know what that means. Ever since covid, the management, staff, and hospitality has gone down.

We stopped in for lunch yesterday. The chili was so salty we could not eat it. The quesadillas were very dry with only a couple of very small pieces of chicken and some dried up cheese on each one. It was terri le. Money wasted, will not be going there again.

My family and I recently visited your establishment, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Despite spending a significant amount of money, we were unable to fully enjoy our meal due to a group of seven nearby who were extremely disruptive. Their language was inappropriate, especially with our children present, and their noise level was excessive. We considered leaving before our food arrived, but we were very hungry, so we stayed and ate quickly in order to leave as soon as possible. It was surprising that the management did not address the situation, even though it was clear that other tables were also disturbed. The disruption was so significant that moving to another table wouldnt have helped. Although we chose not to bring this up with our waitress, as we noticed management was cleaning a table right next to the disruptive group, its disheartening that the issue wasnt addressed. This situation left us very disappointed, and our son even developed a headache, which further impacted our experience. We hope that this feedback is taken seriously and that steps are taken to ensure a more pleasant dining atmosphere for all guests in the future.

The waitress took our order but it was never placed. We were sitting there for a while with no food. The manager apologized and took care of our order. Great manager on keeping the customer happy. We ll come back because we know they will have good service. All the food was really good. My only complaint is that it was a little warm in the restaurant on the north side (the left side), opposite of the bathrooms.

Have not been here in awhile and it was not good back then decided to try again..horrible hostess was busy talking to coworkers in bar laughing etc saw us but only came over after they finished talking and laughing.. service was fair they just took order dropped off food and never came back to refill drinks Never...... place was not busy...cheese noodles tasted like the Powder was barely mixed.. I am for sure I will not come back to this location...no point of management or cooperation wanting more info for they will never fix the problems... employees to busy talking to each other to check on paying customers

This Chilis has been suspect through the 20 years we have lived in San Marcos. However, today was an excellent day! The food was great and the service was even better! Keep it up! The only hiccup we had was that my wifes french fries were half of everyone else at the table who ordered the same thing. But our waiter fixed the problem and all was good.

Serving undercooked food. They said they dont go by temperature, they go by what they think the color should be. Servsafe is a thing. This is disgusting. Not to mention you need to get your own napkins, silverware and plates. Then wait 20 minutes on your drink. Food poisoning and no service for all!

Awesome job and props to our San Marcos Chili s. I ordered my food online at 8:30 for it to arrive at 3:00 pm because I had errands to run. My food order was correct, it came out a bit earlier than the original time and it was still nice and hot by the time I got home. They offer great food for a great price! My favorite is their honey chipotle chicken strips, they re awesome! Parking: Easy curbside pick up.

Worst Chili s I ve experienced in my life. We sat down for over 12 mins and weren t even brought a water and it was a hot day. I had to go find somebody to bring us water. So we got water but nobody came back to take our order. So I had to get up again and find somebody to take our order. We ordered the fajitas for two and they just brought us the skillet of fajitas out. So I had to get up again and ask for plates and that took another five minutes while our fajitas were cooling. If I would have had the choice I wouldn t have even tipped. To top it off it was hardly even busy

We came here to play card and chill for cinco de mayo and it was super chill/fun! also for a big chain restaurant the food was SO good! we got chips and dips, caesar salad, mac & cheese, and chicken fingers! our server was super chill. the margaritas were weak/not amazing but pretty decent. i d recommend the presidents one : 5/5 : 4/5

Its been years since Ive been to Chilis. However, Chilis in San Marcos was right next to our hotel where we stayed to visit our daughter and it was Easter Sunday and there was limited options. This particular location is very nice and their menu is very good. Its not extensive but what they do have is good food. By far our favorite thing that we ordered was the fried chicken strips. The chicken strips were really tender, crispy and flavorful. My hubby had the hamburger and said it was really good. Overall I would say if you havent been to Chilis ever or in a very very long time like us (15+ years), it might be time to revisit this chain.

I called ahead to make sure they would have a table because I was going to train some emoyees and then buy them dinner. The hostess said they didnt because they were only using the bar and one other area and that they didnt take reservations. After some back and forth they seated us at a table for six at the back of the open section, took our drink and appetizer order, dropped off the food, and never came back. I had to search for someone at the end to get the check and then they just found one of those kiosks and left me to it. Very disappointing service.

Came for happy hour. We got set and ordered a couple of drinks then they told us that we were sitting in the wrong area for happy hour and they didnt know if they could give us happy hour in out current seats. They never asked or told us that happy hour was a specific seating area. After 15 mins, finally told us they can make a one time exemption. Visited December 1st after my daughters ring ceremony at Texas State U. 1. Six adults crammed at a table without elbow room to eat. 2. I ordered the full rack dry rub baby back ribs. Too dark, overcooked the meat was dry and no dry rub. The cook gets a 0 for my ribs. Everyone else enjoyed their meal. First time I ordered on a previous visit, superb. This time not so much. The restaurant is only as good as the food being served. Cook do better. Im still kind of upset about that tragic rib event. 3. Went to Cheddars the next day, ordered full rack of baby back ribs and realized how cheated I really felt ordering a full rack from Chillis and getting so little. Probably should not call it a full rack. Its just two pieces of rib. Its not a full rack. I should have returned my plate back to the kitchen. Mad at myself for that.

I had to pre bus my own table after waiting nearly 1o minutes.. how was I supposed to know the host trying to see me was already cut? Theyre at least 10 people in the back of the house the manager walks out serving some peoples food sees me standing there he doesnt even talk to his host its like the host didnt even tell them that somebody else had to bus the table, I bus the table and tell the kid hes good to go to wipe down the table.. at which point a cut waitress says Im rude.. really for busing my own table no for just saying the table is ready to be whipped down it might not have been courteous but it wasnt rude.. the second time in a row the soup comes out cold.. before that I asked my waitress about the happy hour first words out of her mouth you got 15 minutes me well i waited almost 15 minutes to be sat a clean table.. we immediately removed the tablet from the table that allows me to tell people this for management this and immediately received probably the worst service I have in months from any place.. somehow my cold soup got out before even my glass of water followed by the $4 upgrade to the one can eat for $13.99 LOL.. order the red steak and got medium food is cold surprise surprise I dont expect much from corporate USA but Jesus Christ you might as well close like just close if you dont want to service your customers 45 minutes before close just close.

(10/28/23) My girlfriend and I went on a Saturday late-night date. We waited 20 minutes for a table, but the wait actually felt shorter. When we got to our table, we were greeted by a Maggie who was our waitress that night. She provided exceptional service, she checked on us regularly, she was really chill. My girlfriend ordered the chicken crispers with a side of mac n cheese and I ordered to 10oz sirloin steak medium rare with a side of broccoli and mashed potatoes, the food was exceptional! My steak was full of flavor and cooked perfectly as well as the sides. I was having a bad day earlier, but this visit to this Chilis location was the best, nothing but a good steak, good sides along with great service to put me in a good mood and make a great Chilis date.

I missed the announcement, but Chilis made their bean burger vegan last spring, and it is a game-changer. The Alexs Santa Fe burger, bean patty no cheese or Santa Fe sauce, add BBQ sauce, is excellent. You can also get veggie fajitas with sides of asparagus as the beans are vegan as well. This location has great, quick service, even replacing a food item when we made the ordering error. Vegetarian options: Bean patty is now vegan and they make great veggie fajitas if you order the right sides. They discontinued their fried pickles, which were accidentally vegan, but never offered vegan ranch anyhow...

I had a negative experience at another location not long ago, and I was hesitant to return to the chain at all. However, this location made me willing to give it another shot. The food was really good, like all locations when it s not cold, and the atmosphere was what you expect at Chilis. The service, though, was fantastic. Never had to wait for refills, food was brought out quickly and accurately, and the waitress was very friendly without being intrusive. Great job getting a customer back, Chilis.

Everything about eating at chilis on our family night out was amazing! Our server and the manager Brianna delivered a peerless customer service experience. The restaurant looked clean, the atmosphere was great, and our food was precisely cooked and prepared to order. We often eat at chilis about 2/3 times a month, but our experience tonight was absolutely different. My children, wife, and I would certainly say that we ll return back for dinner here again. Stopped in around 10:00 pm and they closed at 11:00pm but were happy to serve us. It was not crowded so we were seated right away. The waitress came right over and took our order. Due to some type of problem in the kitchen it took a bit before our order was ready. The waitress apologized for the delay and offered us an appetizer which we declined but thought it very thoughtful. Our food was delicious! We both got the steak, mashed potato and broccoli. Yum! We sat near the bar and happily, it was not nearly as loud as other Chilis locations .

Restaurant did not close till 11:00pm and a group of friends and I came in at 10:00pm on the dot. We got dirty looks from the waitresses and no one came to serve us nor speak to us as we waited for several minutes to be sat. At least 5 waitresses walked past us and didn t acknowledge us. I understand the groups of people that come in 20 minutes before closing but definitely not an hour before.

Will not return Briana, the manager, made things right, after a long evening of food mix ups and poor customer service. The food ordered was missing items, missing completely, and uneasoned food was not what we had in mind for our 2023 graduation celebration and birthday kickoff.
