Went on a Sunday afternoon absolutely enjoyed the weather & the trail. Didnt see to many other walkers, but lots of bikers which was a little bit disruptive just because it was several groups. I dont mind sharing the trail but not everyone abides by the bike rules. The trail has lots of narrow paths and when someone just rides up on you it can be challenging to navigate a quick step away. There was also several people with dogs not leashed!! Trails are easy to follow, well marked, sitting areas throughout. There is a bathroom at the entrance. I did see some bluebonnets in the making so looking forward to make a trip back in the Spring. Enjoy your adventures & be mindful of others.

This is one of my favorite hiking spots in central Texas. Isolated enough to get a bit disconnected, a good variety of trails, and usually slow or moderate traffic. Keep it clean, pack in pack out! Toilets: Bathrooms at the entrance s Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly but they prefer leashes

My usual spot for trail running. Clean, a good mix of rolling hills, flat walking down some trails and then some pretty tough inclines but it s good training ground

BE CAREFUL! Its a great trail, I do it once a week or so. But be careful because Ive seen several busted windows on the ground in the parking lot and also just had my window broken into. What LE said was that someone waits in the woods and watches when people take wallet out or leave purses in their car and then calls someone to meet them and takes it. They went to Target downtown and tried using 3 of my CC in using to buy gift cards. Thankfully none were successful. These cowards target people trying to better themselves in an isolated area. One day it will catch up with them. Ive walked on over 140 trails this year. AND I NEVER leave my wallet in the car. But the first time that I did and this happened. Make sure you folks contact your banks and have it so that gift cards or pre-paid cards need approval from you through SMS text. Also it wouldnt hurt waiting yourself in the woods 15 mins or so before actually stepping off. This will not stop me from walking on this trail. But if the next time this happens to me, it will end differently.

It was fantastic, beautiful scenery and easy hiking trails. They were 4.1 miles. I only walked to the picnic area. Which is half way. My gf and I had to turn around because it was getting dark. The wildlife is abundant. The spiders are big and scary

Not many people come to this park. It s great. Sometimes purgatory is real muddy and a little far but this little guy is easy to hike and great for dogs. I haven t seen rattle snakes like purgatory gets either. I would have loved to live at one of the apartment complexes that connects to this place.
