I can confidently say that this is the best food Ive had in a while! The meat was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and PACKED with flavor. The rice was outstanding and the pork dumplings were AMAZING! Choon, went above and beyond for my family and I wouldnt be able to say enough. Thank yall so much! Will definitely be back, again and again!

I was really looking forward to having orange chicken, i was so disappointed. It was almost burnt and had no flavor. My rice was cold and I had picked it up right on time(ate in my car) Kung pao and lo mein were pretty bland as well. Not sure if it s because it was almost closing time, that should not matter because I paid almost $50 for small portions and bland food, I ve had better for less. will not be going back.

What an unexpected jewel to find in San Marcos! The food was very fresh, delicious, and we will be revisiting. I love the fried rice, I ordered it with extra vegetables and it was very fresh and delicious. They even have cheeseburgers for the kids, they were tasty. We had the pan fried dumplings, absolutely delicious. This place actually serves salt and pepper wings which I love! The salt and pepper shrimp was very light fresh lightly battered and delicious. We also had the soup and eggrolls. This is definitely a place you would want to visit if you re anywhere near, the Austin or San Antonio area or new Braunfels. Absolutely delicious. You will enjoy.

i didn t take any pictures because i literally inhaled everything but this place hands down is my favorite restaurant in san marcos. i recommend it to everyone i know, my family and friends know to take me for occasions! the sushi is fresh and always 10/10, their entrees are hot and delicious, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. i ve never had a bad experience, and this restaurant has become the place i compare other restaurants to but always come back. stay golden, wok and roll! :p

From the atmosphere to the food- this food just sells Chinese buffet. This, of course, has its ups- fast food, fast service, and hefty portions, but on the downside it has low quality food, taste, and questionable prices. I think Wok N Roll is great for a college town like San Marcos with broke college kids who don t know quality, but if you re an out of town foodie- I wouldn t put this place on my recommendations list. Now here s what I got- The milk tea boba (2.5/5)- questionably gummy boba balls but the tea itself wasn t half bad, just a little too sweet (~ $6.00) General tso chicken with fried rice (3/5)- Extremely saucy chicken with an okay taste- nothing memorable or exciting but the portion was huge! Came with an egg roll (this was the most enjoyable part) and super bland/dry rice (~ $14.00) Mongolian beef with steamed rice (2.5/5)- The veggies seemed raw (I m not sure if they re supposed to be cooked or not, but just don t expect them grilled or anything) but the crunch to them actually made the dish 5x more enjoyable. The meat was saucy (just like the chicken dish), but super chewy- my brother said it was fake meat (like the cafeteria stuff). Again, this dish came with a heaping amount of food, an egg roll, and some steamed rice (considerably better than the fried rice because the fried rice just seemed so bland and dry, and although the steamed rice wasn t much better you just can t blame it because how else are you gonna make steamed rice?) (~ $14.00) The Shaggy Dog Roll (1/5)- I ve tried a number of sushi in my life from many different (questionable) places, but this has to be the worst sushi I ve ever had. It wasn t bad because it was ridiculously gross or anything, but it just lacked flavor and structure- I was honest shocked because I have never had bad sushi before. Even if I did come back to this place (for some reason), this is a menu option I would NOT recommend- even if they did lower the price (~ $14.00) Service- Extremely fast and good service. We didn t have to wait for a table and our server was very attentive. The food came out ridiculously fast too, kind of like it was just sitting back there waiting for us and all they had to do was pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes then bring it out (which I wouldn t be surprised if this was actually the case), but something about the speed of the making of the food was extremely nice- because who doesn t want to go to a restaurant and just immediately get what they ordered. Conclusion- Overall, if you re feeling explorative and just want to try what San Marcos has to offer then you should try this place, you might find a better menu option for you than I did, but I can promise that no matter what you won t leave feeling that sense of happiness and satisfaction you get from quality, good food- you won t be grossed out or anything either, you just might leave feeling a little empty or like something is missing. However, if you want extremely like ridiculously fast it s questionable service then you ll love it here.

Beef Teriyaki was a great appetizer. Meals are generius portions and took home some of each plus 1 skewer from appetizer. Employees were very friendly. Restaurant was very clean. Aggressive atmosphere to work in and sometimes be in as a third-party spectator. Some employees vape in the kitchen, and owners hold no one responsible for any unprofessional behavior I remember coming here to eat with a friend to sit there for at least 10 min waiting for someone to serve us to hear that they werent comfortable serving me due to drama from my previous employment there. My friend had to go up to the cashier just to find out why we were being ignored, if you didnt want to act like a high school girl and create a spectacle, you shouldve been upfront about enforcing that policy instead of being petty, just a tip in regards to professional behavior in the workplace

Ive always enjoyed the ambience of Wok & Roll. The dim lighting is bright enough to see your food and the people with you but soft enough to give a peaceful vibe. The sound of their mini koi pond near the door adds to this. Their food is spot on 99% of the time and only once have we ever had an issue, that said the 1 time I dont really blame them because they were very busy and just didnt let the sushi rice get cold before making our order...warm sushi was just odd. Their menu selection is wonderful and their staff is always friendly, helpful and amazing! Definitely a top 5 choice for us in San Marcos!

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. The waitress put my entire familys order in, but completely forgot about mine! Then she disappeared for around 20 minutes until I walked up to the sushi counter to ask for a manager. The kicker? The manager had LEFT the property about an hour before I went up to the counter, and there was NO ONE there runnin the restaurant. Note to the owners...How about you NOT leave your restaurant unattended?

The atmosphere was nice inside, and they may have done some upgrades. The customer service was just OK, and our food took a long time to get. We were asked to sit at the sushi bar while we waited for our food. After a while of waited, we asked how much longer and he said OH, your food is right here. They had bagged it and just never bothered to pay attention. The egg roll was good but the Lomein was not. The meat tasted weird and a bit old.

Came here with my mother and little sister for the first time. The place was clean and got seated real quick. Our server was Nashu and she was really great. We got the Pao Pao platteer which was awesome and had food that we each enjoyed. My sister got the steamed dumpling and although it wasnt her favorite it was not bad. My mother and I both enjoyed the pork fried rice and my mother liked the orange chicken. I got the shrimp and broccoli with extra brown sauce, but they did not cook it in the brown sauce originally. My mother asked the waitress if they can cook it in the sauce, since thats the only way I eat it. I dont usually like sending my order back becuase it feels rude. But Nashu was supper nice about it and it was fixed it pretty quickly and it tasted amazing. Im super impressed with the service and food. Plus my sister loved the Koy fish!

Came in today to place the same catering order I usually do monthly for my office staff. It s usually about $170, today it was $341. I asked why such a drastic change? Especially when I just ordered the exact same thing just a month ago. Their reason for 2x the cost was the portion size had increased but I got the exact same pan as usual. Was feeding a staff of 15 and got 3 small fried rices, 1 small steamed rice, 3 small lo mein no where near enough rice or noodles for the large catering of meat portions I had ordered. I Really enjoyed treating my staff to wok and roll but after this experience it will be my last. Food was good as usual but the cost was no way justified.

This is the closest you ll get to old school homemade Chinese food. Everything is so delicious from the soups to the sushi and sashimi. I had the orange chicken once it was great. Reasonably priced. The atmosphere here is great! Its a smaller yet accommodating business. The server was sooo friendly (I didnt catch his name) but recommended a dish,the walnut shrimp, which blew my socks off. It was old dry over cooked (probably a reheat) and slathered in sauce in attempt to cover up which of course it didnt. Convenience charge on all togo orders not mentioned upfront. Cashier stated certain dishes came with sides at no extra charge (such as noodles) despite the fact they were not included and were 3.99 extra, luckily caught it and called her out to which she seemed to not care. I ordered the 12 piece chicken wings, i got a togo container with 6 wings and the rest of the box was stuffed with rice. I called, they asked me to bring it back and tried to pursuade me I was wrong. They never refunded my money, I think this place knows what it is doing, as they literally ripped me off. Check your orders, recipe and ask if theyre are any extra chages before paying. Used to be my favorite sushi place but the waining food quality and these examples completely ruined it.

We ordered Beef Lo Mein, Sesame Chicken, Crab Rangoons and soup. The Beef Lo Mein tasted entirely like plastic, and had a thick brown type sauce similar to the Sesame Chicken. The Sesame Chicken tasted nothing like any Sesame Chicken we ve ever ever tasted. It was a burnt plastic/gravy flavor. Neither of us could take more than a few bites. The crab rangoons had more fried bits in the bag than actual rangoons, and they were tough and chewy. We tried calling the restaurant and the number listed on Google takes you nowhere. We would love a refund after trying to treat ourselves to an over $60 dinner, and it all being inedible because of strong smells of plastic and burned gravy. We had a delivery to Girard St, the contact info should be on the order. Please reimburse us for a disappointing evening.

My wife got so sick after eating a spider roll. It s now 9:30 and she is still shaking and barfing. We ate at about 5:00. She noted after she started feeling bad that the dish had a slight metallic taste which indicates tainted food. I called and asked for the manager and the person said he wasn t in. I asked for his name and she said she didn t have to and wasn t going to give me the responsible persons name. We re filing a formal complaint to the health department tomorrow. We have dined there before and never had this experience but they will never get the chance to poison us again.

Wok and roll is our special treat together as a family each week. To be welcomed with your favorite dish is truly small-town charm. To know that the cuisine was cultivated from a whole world of experience makes it seem extra special. My daughter just misses the outside seating. If you like shrimp they have the salt and pepper crispy shrimp which is delicious. They also have some of the best egg rolls. You know I got to get the egg drop soup as well! Another thing is the bathrooms are pretty clean and private which is good.

I have been eating at the Wok n roll for over 15 yrs. It is a shame, that over the last couple of months, quality of the sushi has declined. The eel was not prepared correctly. It had lots of fat and bones left in. I know they cant always get all the bones out. I kept hoping it was just a bad night, they were to busy or fill in the blank. It just has steadily gotten worse. The tuna roll had things it wasnt supposed to and smelled extremely fishy. The ginger was shredded , dry and disgusting. The rice was dry and falling apart. I spent money that I ended up not eating. I love this restaurant but it is just not the same. It seems the standard has been lowered.

We went this passed Sunday. Food was definitely delicious. We enjoyed our meal. Atmosphere was pleasant but lights went out n it became dining by small candlelight n started to get hot with no A/C going due to electric outage. Service was great We all agreed we would return for a nicer experience. Lo mein noodles combination plate was delicious but salty. The place is nicely decorated and resembles Asian atmosphere. The menu is extensive and there s many options for different tastes. The plates are generously portioned. I suggest ordering food for the center of the table so all can taste different plates. Unfortunately the timing to serve our food was not well coordinated and some people had to wait a long time for their plates. Also, a water refill pitcher was not clean and showed floating things in it. That leaves an uneasy feeling in reference to cleanliness.

UPDATE: The Salt and Pepper Shrimp on the lunch special is awesome. Only $12, the spicy shrimp, with lightly fried jalapeno slices, has a cooling slaw of cabbage and carrots and some pretty sliced cucumber to cool.tgings off. Last time I was there, they had no house hot mustard. Today they did. Its the real deal. Clear your sinuses make you cough kind of real deal, just like I like it. Great service,very pleasant, modern atmosphere. My new favorite not to far from home Chinese joint. They also have sushi, which I will try next visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My family and I came tonight for late dinner and our waiter was very helpful and kind! The food was tasty and well seasoned. We have pretty high expectations when it comes to Asian food and all of them were met. Best customer experience here in San Marcos. We highly recommend this restaurant if you re looking for great Chinese cuisine and good sushi rolls. If we are ever back in the area, we will most definitely come back!

I was excited to eat here again! It s been years since I ate here I remember loving it when I used to. Well I spend $30 to throw my food in the trash I ordered generals chicken and it was horrible the fried rice was bland and had nothing in it and my crab Rangoons were burned. Repost- It was a nice establishment. Clean well maintained, but the staff is all over the place. On 3 occasions I had to remind them about our order, we re missing this plate, did they ever finish those drinks (20 minutes into our meal). The food was tasty our family is big so you could imagine trying everything on everyone plates-lol. But the wait staff needs to be trained and maybe go back to writing down orders? First time trying this place and I had high hopes based on the reviews. My experience I would say a solid 5 out of 10. Me and my wife ordered the crab Rangoon appetizer and the first batch was so old it tasted like rubber. The second was fresh but the cream cheese in the middle was cold. My wife ordered the beef and broccoli and honestly panda express is better. The sushi rolls are bomb. Our server was friendly and attentive. My wife and I would only come back here for the sushi rolls. Anything else we would rather eat somewhere else.

I had a great first experience at wok & roll. The service was very welcoming and pleasant. Our waiter Jason was a total gentleman, very friendly and attentive. The food we ordered (mandarin chicken and cashew chicken) came to our table very quickly and was both steamy and delicious. I have to say I really enjoyed the hot and sour soup which says a lot coming from me a hot and sour soup connoisseur.
