Amazing space: green lawn & garden for outdoors, plus indoor facilities next to the lawn area. The menu is varied for different food preferences, fresh and tasty. The people that work here from owner to servers are chill and organized. Ive been to quite a few events here and I always enjoy them. Love the secluded tables in the garden area... so peaceful!

I could not recommend this restaurant and event venue more! My husband and I still reminisce about hosting our wedding reception there not to mention the dozens of events that I have been able to host on behalf of my clients with the incredible staff and the amazing culinary team! It feels like you have walked into a jungle paradise, but you are still right in the middle of all of the city action. They take great care of you and pay special attention to the details.

Ivy Hall turned out to be the perfect location for my sons recent Welcome Reception the night before his wedding. As an event planner for much of my career, I was very exacting in what I wanted and Scott and his team managed to exceed my expectations, going above and beyond to make this evening memorable. The food was all very good, the staff was a pleasure to work with and I really appreciated being able to ship things directly to the site rather than having to worry about transporting everything since I dont live in Texas. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for a lovely outdoor party that also has some indoor space and a very flexible layout.

My partner and I hosted 160 people at Ivy Hall for our wedding on April 22, 2023. The team at Ivy Hall absolutely knocked it out of the park! At each step along the way from planning more than a year out up to the day of the wedding the staff was responsive, easy to get along with, and genuinely helpful. They went above and beyond to deliver an amazing and unforgettable day. From a planning perspective, we appreciated that Ivy Hall has the space to host all parts of the wedding - from the ceremony to the reception, dinner, and dancing. The gardens are immaculately manicured, but also provide distinct zones for different parts of the day. They have clearly put thought into creating this as an event space, because each area was well equipped with the technical components needed for audio, which was helpful for our live band and DJ. We also appreciated the elegant lighting that brought an atmospheric feel to the evening, from the uplighting along the garden walls, downlighting around the pathways, and string lighting overhead. It is a truly beautiful space, with excellent views of the Tower of Americas that give the venue a sense of place: distinctly San Antonio. Another stand-out for us was the food and beverage service. The chef clearly knows her way around the kitchen and how to prepare for a crowd! They were flexible in helping us design the menu and were able to accommodate the different dietary needs of our guests. The chef and her team exuded creativity and thoughtfulness in the presentation and preparation of the menu items. From a logistical standpoint, they were also able to filter guests through the food and bar lines efficiently, ensuring that no one had to wait too long. Some other highlights: Plentiful parking for guests as Ace Mart parking lot is available across the street Located in the thriving Southtown neighborhood, centrally located to downtown San Antonio Private space for the couple and family in the furnished storage container at the back of the lot If you are considering Ivy Hall as a venue choice, I can t recommend them highly enough! Aside from being great people to work with, the venue is beautiful, well-equipped for events, and offers excellent food and drink service. 10/10 would choose them again!

Went there on 3/29 for an industry mixer/venue open house, but it felt more like an employee appreciate party. Most of the folks there were in-house vendors who were drinking up the free alcohol. There didnt appear to be any sign-in sheets and no one greeted us when we entered. It all felt very....unfriendly, and a bit disorganized. Its a pretty venue for someone looking for a backyard wedding vibe.

This venue immediately caught our eye and we fell in love with it from the pictures alone when we first started looking for wedding venues. I reached out to them expressing our serious interest, and after a couple of days, they got in touch to schedule a call to see if they would be a good fit. Well, the sales rep completely ghosted me for our first meeting. Since I loved the venue so much, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and agreed to reschedule when they got in touch hours past our scheduled meeting time. The second time, they were almost a half an hour late and put me on hold in the middle of the call. Even still, I was willing to move forward with a proposal, which I had texted them specific dates and times to meet again to go over, per their request that was four days ago, and it has been radio silence from them since then. Again, the venue is incredible and was #1 on our list when we began looking, but their planning staff has been underwhelming, to say the least. I am truly happy for, and honestly, envious of the couples that got five star service from them. We were excited to have that as well, but I guess this just isn t our place. ***UPDATE*** I would be remiss if I did not add that Tim, the owner, did reach out to me herself in regard to this situation. She did not make excuses, apologized genuinely, and made a respectable effort to make things right. Unfortunately, everything up to this point left us uncomfortable with moving forward with them, but after speaking with Tim and other members of their staff, I am more confident that we were the exception, not the rule. We genuinely wish them the best, as it is clear that they do care deeply about their business.

Upon reflection of our wedding night and going through our photos, booking Ivy Hall was undoubtedly the best decision we made. First - the service and communication with Ashley, our venue coordinator, was stellar from the beginning. She responded warmly and timely to texts and e-mails. She was always willing to be present if we needed to come by the venue. Our experience with Ashley helped us towards having truly wonderful wedding. Second the venue grounds. During the pandemic, my husband and I started gardening more and developed a true appreciation for Texas flowering plants they are vibrant yet grow a bit untamed quite like the state they are native to. To our absolute joy, Ivy Hall was sprawling with Turks Cap, Pride of Barbados, Gomphrena, and many more. We once visited the grounds prior to the wedding and witnessed the largest concentration of hummingbirds we had ever come across. The flowers paired with palm trees and bamboo creates a vibrant yet naturally ethereal atmosphere. The backdrop of the landscaping in our wedding photos seriously made for stunning photography. Added plus - full view of the Tower of Americas for your guests. Third Tim the Girl catering and staff. When I first looked through photos of Tim the Girl catering, the plethora of colors and textures in the food really stood out. It was right in line with our vision for the wedding. The menu that Ashley and Tim the Girl came up with was delicious in both presentation and flavors! The best part is that Ashley and Tim the Girl customize the menu to your liking. They were very flexible with changing things on the menu and using seasonal foods. Ashley was like a dictionary of food dishes we would note an ingredient we like and she would start spewing out dishes faster than we could comprehend :D They are indeed foodies. Our guests loved the Manchego cheese and chorizo appetizers, as well as the roasted butternut squash with goat cheese. The bread station was gorgeous! I wish I could have taken it home whole grain breads paired with different butters and salts and spices. The chicken was juicy and tender and the potatoes perfectly cooked. Our guests loved the food! The staff were all so individually sweet. I didn t have a chance to talk to all my guests that night but found myself chatting away with many of the staff members they were kind, attentive, and reassuring. We are still fawning over how wonderful our wedding was and are so thankful for the efforts of Ivy Hall and Tim the Girl. We can t recommend them enough!

Ivy Hall was amazing! We instantly knew this was our venue. Think garden, boho, modern vibes. From the time we booked to the day of everyone was kind, helpful and easy to work with. I would 10/10 host another event here. We chose to also rent thier restaurant side The Good Kind and it worked perfectly for us. The food was top notch. We wanted a customized Asain Infusion and they delivered! The was tasty and plentiful. We have some picky esters in our family but they all loved it.

We joined the Mother s Day event which could have been lovely; however the woman taking the tickets started the event off by saying if you step inside and complain about the heat she didn t want to hear it. I will give you your money back. There was no mention of Happy Mother s Day or welcome. Then the food, it was lack luster at best, cold and not worth even close to the $40 per person we paid. The event had potential but the woman at the door started down the wrong path and the food finished the deal. Won t be back.

Would not recommend. Went there for 2022 Mothers Day Brunch Buffet and it was astoundingly disappointing. Whole venue was unorganized, but the Tim the Girl, food side of things particularly sucked. Not enough food served at any single time where any one patron was actually able to try all that was supposed to be served. The food you could get was not bad, but bland and tasteless. When I returned to get desert, if course they were all out of that, and even plates in general. This was an hour ten into the 3 hourbuffet event. Dont go here. Oh, also - they will passively-aggressively react to negative online reviews by trying to make it seem like the problem is with the REVIEWER, instead of their lackluster craftsmanship. See below... We loved having our wedding at Ivy Hall! From our initial emails with Tim and Scott through the planning process and the actual event, everyone (particularly Scott -- give that man a raise!) was so helpful. We chose Ivy Hall partially because we loved the idea of a beautiful outdoor venue, and partially for Tims food, and neither disappointed. The space is super flexible, so you can pretty much tailor it to your needs. For example we had everything outside and used the entire back space, including the gravel area that is sometimes a parking lot. The catering is also incredibly flexible. Tim can pretty much do whatever you want, and we loved working with her on our dream menu! Many of our guests told us the food was the best wedding food they had ever had. All our vendors (DJ, photographers, florist, cake, coordinator, etc.) said Scott was easy to work with and the venue was simple to set up and get in and out of, so thats great that it was perfect not only for us, but also for others involved. We really cannot say enough great things about Scott and how communicative and helpful he was! If you want a beautiful venue with amazing food and a very helpful and responsive operations manager, Ivy Hall is the spot!

Reviewing as a wedding venue and vendor: We were less than 3 weeks from our original wedding date (April 2020) before everything shut down due to Covid. Ivy Hall and Tim the Girl Catering were very understanding and super responsive--we were able to get a new date scheduled and they helped us coordinate with our rental vendor too to get everything moved to our new date. When we were finally able to have our wedding in October 2021 everything was perfect and exactly how we had imagined.

The level of disorganization at this venue is appalling. I am truly shocked to see even one 5 star review for them. My family hosted a wedding reception here on a Thursday night. Of course wedding planning doesnt happen overnight so the venue was booked months in advance. My sister even asked if any events would be hosted in the restaurant that might conflict with their event. The answer was NO. So tell me why the inconsiderate people renting out the venue thought it was okay to book live music to be played directly across DURING THE RECEPTION?! The wedding planner said nothing could be done. So I decided to speak to Scott myself (supposedly one of the people in charge). He said he was working on it. That they couldnt do anything. I told him I couldnt believe how unprofessional they were in allowing the live music during a wedding reception (AN EVENT THAT WAS PAID FOR). It interfered with the announcements and was very distracting. I also couldnt believe the oh so casual, nonchalant attitude presented by Scott. He didnt care at all... not until the mention that gratuity was yet to be paid as well as promise of this review. Obviously someone dropped the ball in booking live entertainment during an already scheduled event. Instead of asking the musician to leave for the night since their restaurant was empty anyway, they decided to drag their feet. I cant imagine the five customers present generating enough revenue for them to even think they had a leg to stand on. Dont waste your money booking this venue. They truly DO NOT CARE. Youd be better off roping off a section in a public park the way they treat their guests here... less noise and NO ATTITUDE. Update to the owners response: I find it very childish how they are unable to accept an honest review. No one approached any of the staff with praise. We had a small wedding here and they did a great job! They went above and beyond to make sure everything looked nice and was setup the way we wanted. The food was delicious. We rented the whole venue so guests could safely distance and it was well worth it! The beautiful garden area was perfect for photos as well as the nearby tower. At night, the lights made for a great atmosphere. This venue made our wedding a very memorable day!

The garden set up is beautiful which is why its so disappointing to report the inconveniences that came with it. Went for a wedding, but it was hard to hear the ceremony due to constant trains passing by. I understand that cant be controlled, but it was hard to over look the loud music coming from the building next door (by the looks of it it may be on the same property. If it is the same owners, this is extremely rude). Reception was inside and the temperature was in the 80s to 90s all night. Started hot ended hotter. It was cooler outside and thats a lot for an August evening in south Texas. It was extremely uncomfortable to the point of unbearable.

I attended the Chef Series a few Sundays ago. The event was very well laid out. All you can eat Texas-size bites featuring 8 chefs. In addition, there were 4 beverage stations featuring vodka, champagne, beer, bourbon/whiskey. The band was also really good and added to the ambiance. Looking forward to the next event!

I LOVE Ivy Hall. Its a gorgeous venue with a lovely, fresh vibe. The grounds offer an enchanting experience with inviting vignettes to enjoy quiet moments away from the crowd. Ivy Hall is kept clean and clutter free throughout any event Ive attended. Since it is in an urban location, parking can be a little tricky, but there is a circular driveway for drop-off right at the entrance. Due to the delicious, hand-crafted cocktails served, Im happily paying to be driven and picked up.

We attended the Evenings at Ivy premiere and it was fantastic. We had every chef dish, each incredibly fresh and so delicious. Beautiful colors on every plate. Flavors incredible. Just Wow. Please read the other one star review and take it very seriously. It seems that it is likely highly credible given our experience. Much of what was featured in that review was exactly what we experienced at their ticketed event tonight. I have been to many ticketed dinners and I cannot recall a single one that was as unprofessional as this one. I have also never been to a venue where staff openly or appeared to openly not care about patron experience. I felt like I was in the twilight zone, watching the staff of the event dismiss concerns by patrons that the event wasnt as billed (for tickets that cost as much as $250 per person) and watching the staff walking around drinking with their friends, appearing to be customers themselves instead of working the event. There is also essentially no parking and as an event venue that was kind of shocking. Further, when we asked where to park, we were all but told, good luck and to figure it out on our own. You are holding a ticketed dinner and have no plan for parking at all? We also almost walked in to the baby shower that was being held right next to the ticketed event (it was in the same space, there was no clear delineation), because that was the only place there was shade. This is much more desert than garden oasis. I cant imagine how the customers at the baby shower felt. They had people walking up and realizing that it was a baby shower and wasnt actually part of the ticketed event. The loud live band playing right next to them also had to be disruptive since when the music stopped it was clear that the baby shower was trying to play their own music. And then to overhear staff effectively admit that many of the patrons were their friends and seemingly didnt pay for tickets to the event? If the money wasnt billed as going to charity, I would be demanding a refund. As it stands, I would never go back and never advise anyone to use this venue for anything they cared about, if from the pure standpoint that I have never left an event and felt so much like I was used to make a buck and that the venue didnt really care about how their event turned out at all. If thats how they put together their own events, I cant imagine they really care about yours.

Attended an event at Ivy Hall. Such a lovely venue with several locations to select from for your event outdoors or indoors. Their outdoors area has beautiful landscaping. The food was so delicious! Looking forward to attending another event there!

Hosted our event A Royal Sunday Funday and we had the best time raising money for Friends of the River Walk and campaigning for King of the River Walk. This venue is perfect for a beautiful event. The space is large and intimate at the same time. Bartenders were incredibly nice and knowledgeable, very helpful for everything our guests needed. We ve been getting soo many messages complimenting the event, venue, and staff!

Came here for my best friends wedding reception. Beautiful location and you would never guess how magical it is behind the restaurant. Very lush and green, beautiful backdrops for photos, and super clean. There was a small area where the cake and other backdrops for photos were that was air conditioned. A very romantic spot for any event or for photos.
