We were blown away by the beautiful pictures Gillian and her assistant took on our wedding day. She was fun and comfortable to work with ... something so important when youre spending a lot of time with her on this most special day! Gillian did an absolutely amazing job doing photography for my wedding. We were worried that we would be awkward in photos but she put everyone at ease. She gave us poses to do, and had great ideas for all the shots. She captured the spirit and design of the wedding better than I thought would be possible. She also delivered the first preview photos in a record amount of time. I could not be happier. I literally cant stop looking at the photos. Thank you Gillian!!

I am not from the Fredricksburg area and was a bit concerned hiring a stranger for my engagement, however Gillian was so professional, insightful, helpful, and attentive! She even pretended to be another venue-goer so that I could keep it a surprise until the very end! We got our pictures in a timely manner and were over the moon by the quality! Thank again Gillian!

I have had the please of having Gillian photograph my family for the last 4 years. She has captured some of our families biggest milestones (pregnancy announcement/maternity photos) as well as did some stunning milk bath photos of me while I was in my 3rd trimester. She also recently was the photographer at my wedding and she was so professional, kept us on time and was so efficient in capturing all the small details. 10/10, do not hesitate for even a second on hiring Gillian. She will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera and is so patient (if you have kiddos). What Im trying to say is.. she is the best. PERIOD!

Gillian did an amazing job with my headshots for my business, Triple CHK Wedding Management. I have never had professional headshots done before so I really did not know what to expect. She made me feel so comfortable and told me exactly how to stand with my posture, shoulders, hips, and face ALL THE THINGS haha. I need so much direction because personally I am not super comfortable behind a camera and she helped me feel confident and relaxed. We got some AMAZING content that I can use to promote my business and I am so happy with my headshots! GILLIAN IS AMAZING! 5-STARS ON EVERYTHING! We had our engagement session with Gill in DC a few weeks ago and couldn t have asked for a better experience. My fiancé and I are both slightly awkward and uncomfortable taking pictures, but Gill really knew how to coach us through poses as well as just capturing candid moments that ended up looking amazing. Before our session with Gill, we had heard about other photographers who were pushy, impatient, and only took photos that they thought were worth the shot, but Gill was the exact opposite. She truly has a client-first mentality. During the session Gill was upbeat, fun, and the perfect hype person throughout the entire thing. It felt like we spent half the day day dragging her around the National Mall and other parts of DC trying to meaningful locations to us and in search of cherry blossoms that weren t yet in full bloom and never once did she get frustrated or annoyed with us. After the session, Gill was very prompt in giving us a sneak peek of our session. It was like a photographers amuse bouche that left us in anticipation and excitement about the rest of the photos to come. The final product was amazing, we have so many photos that capture who we are as a couple in the city that we love. I am so excited to her back as part of our wedding day dream team this summer. UPDATE: Gill just came to DC to do our wedding! It was even more amazing than our first shoot with her. She was extremely professional, flexible, understanding, and just fun! Gill made what is normally a hectic day very enjoyable. She kept us on schedule with photos without stressing us out. Our families and guests were very impressed at the work she was doing to capture all the important moments, but never took away from the moment itself. Can t wait to see all of the photos!

Gillian Menzie Photographys attention to detail is TOP NOTCH. I just reviewed the gallery of a wedding that I did the flowers for and I was blown away with how many details for the couple were included- especially the small, nostalgic details. As a florist, I appreciated how she included the flowers that the couple invested in so they can be sure to enjoy them for the rest of their lives. I reached out to Gillian after months of searching for a photographer that embraced diversity. She immediately texted me a video of her introducing herself and excitingly planning out next FaceTime date which included coffee by courtesy of herself. She made planning during a pandemic so normal and smooth. I fell in love with the way she was so personable with not only us but all of our family too. Her talent blew us away and was worth every penny. I couldn t imagine our big day with out her. She placed my veil on me right before I walked down the aisle and continued adjusting it throughout the night. She made me feel like a true princess and captured the most epic photos that my friends and family are still in awe about. As she cried on my way down the aisle I knew she will be apart of our family forever. 10/10 highly recommend her services and just meeting her because she is the most genuine and hilarious person in the business!

This was our first time doing professional photos, so with that being said we were out of our comfort zone. Gillian is seriously the best! We had such a good time with her at our engagement shoot!
