Great piece of history. We parked on Market street and only paid $4 for 2 hours vs the parking lots charging $20. Walked over to the plaza. They do free entrance to the church but you still have to get tickets. We walked around and also did the short film. It s not a huge place but definitely worth a visit.

Oct.2021 The Alamo plaza is spacious and a bustling area with people from all over the world. During the holidays there is a beautiful well decorated tree for everyone to enjoy. Regular season there are spots to take those wonderful pictures.

So much history in this plaza. This is where a lot of the monuments are located that commemorate the Alamo and the men who fought there. If you take a tour. They walk you through the plaza and the different monuments. During the battle of the Alamo, the plaza was contained within the fortifications surrounding the mission.

Interesting museum, you can visit it in less than 1 hour, an affordable price, but the memories are really expensive, but a good experience.

We took the toddler with us to visit the Alamo. We were able to take several unobstructed photos of the mission, and the little one was able to get some of his wiggles out while in the area. Recommend bringing a wagon or stroller for the little ones though as this area requires a bit of walking.

If you do not know what happened here, I highly recommend the guided tour. This is hallowed ground, not a tourist attraction.

I have been to the Alamo Plaza many times in the past during my travels to Texas and San Antonio and have always enjoyed my time visiting here. This most recent visit here at the Alamo Plaza felt like the plaza area was much larger than what I remembered it being as well as much more to see in it. Some of the notable attractions I saw this time were the sculpture of David Crockett, the San Antonio Cenotaph also known as the Spirit of sacrifice and more as well as much more in the future as they are doing major improvements to the Alamo and Alamo Plaza. I definitely recommend checking out this historical landmark and seeing all the stories and history here at both the Alamo and Alamo Plaza. I will definitely be back again when in San Antonio as it is one of my favorite places to visit.

While standing outside on the plaza, after an incredibly hot day, an amazing sunset showed itself. A spectacular, fleeting moment inadequately captured.
