I should have read the reviews before coming here. My family and I went on a Saturday night. There was no wait, that should have been my first clue. I ordered grilled chicken. The chicken had no flavor whatsoever. My husband ordered a texas t-bone medium well and it came out completely rare. My brother ordered a ribeye medium and it came out well done. We don t usually send food back, but they did let the waitress know. She took them back and the second time they were brought out my husbands steak was SO over cooked it was inedible. My brother s steak was much better, but still not cooked how he ordered it. Each of these steaks were $32, it was just not an enjoyable dinner. Big shoutout to our waitress, Kelly, because she was so gracious and apologetic. Needless to say, we will not be returning here.

For being on the river walk I was expecting high wait time. I didnt eat but I did drink a 60oz margarita by myself. There was a guy who came around and took pictures which we had to purchase. Overall worth the experience.

My family and I were in visiting from Houston and wow couldn t even sit and enjoy the view without the upstairs hostess making it completely uncomfortable with her unnecessary attitude! As a party of 6 we simply asked to be seated in the shade with the working fans. A she told us that we couldn t sit there because she sat a prior table. Mind you there was one party of 3 and another party of 6. So she proceeded to sit us where the sun was hitting and the fans weren t working and kept telling us it s TEXAS! Yes we know we re in from Houston! And we re not disputing that fact! We just wanted to sit in the huge open area with the working fan and shade that was considerably much cooler. Who would have known that simple request in a restaurant with hardly any people would resulted in the snappy geography lesson! Definitely unfortunate, cause we were looking forward to enjoying your establishment! But with the constant negativity from your hostess and multiple reminders of what state we re in. I just couldn t stay and give my business!

The steak was cooked to a perfect temperature and had a good taste profile. Sadly the sides left much too be desired. The salad was drowned in dressing, the vegetable of the day was mushy, and the baked potato was overcooked and hard. Even after complaining about the over cooked baked potato (and eating none of it) I was still changed for it. We did enjoy the fried mushrooms, but believed it was the culprit of GI issues shortly after.

My husband and I went there 2 days ago! The presentation of the food was a 2 out of 10! Steak was good. Fries in a little carton on the plate, no salad! The beer came in a miniture pint glass i havent seen in a long time! The chicken was ok but same thing, fries in a carton on the plate... The waitress was friendly! I was expecting a nice atmosphere and great food!

Would not recommend if you don t have time to waste! My wife and I drive all the way from Dallas Texas to eat here cause a trusted friend of ours said that this was a great place, boy were they wrong. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a 15% off coupon on our appetizers and we considered going. We walk the river walk a little more and decided to eat here. We were guided upstairs to a table where we waited almost 15-20 min to be seen and get drinks. When we asked about other waiter/ waitress they said That they will be with you! At that point, my wife and I left after almost 40 mins of waiting. Again, unless you have time to waste .DO NOT GO!

Went to this place on a whim walking around the riverwalk. The staff was attentive, great moods, and helpful when we had questions. Food was DELICIOUS. Drinks were on point, very strong! I will definitely go back whenever I head back to San Antonio!

Unfortunately, the quality here has deteriorated in 2.5 years. The BBQ plate was unappetizing. Everything was overcooked, the chicken was rock hard and we couldnt even get a fork in it. The table was dirty and sticky, even though there were hardly any people there. The service didnt feel like it either. Beer in a plastic cup was also possible. The price was way too high for the mediocre quality. The location is great, but unfortunately the love for food and customer service is hard to find, as in more touristy places. This way it remains empty of course.

We just visited here as we are on a short trip to San Antonio. Jose was our server and he was fantastic! We went during happy hour and the peach house margarita was the best margarita I ve ever had. We got queso for an appetizer and it was delicious. Food was served to us quickly and tasted phenomenal. I had the pork chops and my boyfriend has the country fried steak and it was a great meal, and a large amount of food for a good price. We would eat here again!

While on vacation, we stopped here as it was mentioned everywhere as a great restaurant. If we could go back and pick somewhere else, we would. Staff was friendly enough but didn t seem to care one way or another if we were there. We got chips and queso as an appetizer and it was not particularly appetizing. They put some sort of seasoning blend on the chips which make them extremely salty and the queso was so thick it felt weird in your mouth. I got the chicken fried steak and a loaded baked potato but requested no bacon. The chicken fried steak was dry and had no flavor. The breading just crumbled right off the steak because it was so hard and crispy. The loaded baked potato which you pay $5 extra to have loaded came out with cheese only. I asked for no bacon, but still to have the butter, sour cream, and cheese. I had to ask the server to bring me sour cream for it. My husband ordered the brisket sandwich and also said it was cold and flavorless. For the amount of money, go somewhere else.

It looked like dirty and chaotic tourist trap. I sat at the bar. Beer was cold. I ordered a medium rare steak that was overcooked. I asked for a glass of wine which never came. Oof. The chicken was baaad. We got a chicken fried chicken and a grilled chicken and they were clearly old and frozen. No good. The green beans and mixed vegetables were chewy and stale. The mashed potatos were cold. Gravy was fine. Mushrooms were yummy. Brisket taco was pretty decent. The vibe was lacking and the decor could be so much more especially for the name and location. Our server was very cool but clearly overworked. It took a while to be seen.

My friend & I walked in 6/25/24 . The inside is super small, so we had to wait outside in bc the heat to be seated. However, someone came to seat us within 3 min. My friend ordered the Burger $15.99 added up charge of tater tots for a few dollars. She said the burger hit the spot & I could see how perfectly brown they fried the tater tots. She enjoyed it. I just had a side of fries $1.99 & 1 scoop of ice cream $1.99(had a few chips of freezer burn in it. Our food came out pretty quickly. The only thing I didn t like was that I ended up w/ a gnat in my water. They also have Spanish violin players that are dressed in uniforms & will do a song for a tip.

I visited this restaurant with family and ordered Bbq Combo. When I started eating, the chicken tasted and smelled so bad like spoiled chicken; I wasnt sure until my husband told me that his chicken also smelled bad, so I stopped eating. My husband immediately informed this to the waiter and he told the manager whose never showed up. A few minutes later I started feeling sick. I wanted to warn people about this place because I think the meats they are serving are not fresh, considering that the brisket was too dry as well.

The food is aggressively mid. The burger clearly came straight from the freezer and was burned to high heaven. The chicken on the bbq platter was watery, rubbery, and also clearly from the freezer. They also allow vendors to come in who will harass you to buy their flowers, take pictures of you to sell, or play you a song. The staff was nice but this is just not something I would recommend. Not worth the money or the time.

First, they sat us in a place where the waitstaff congregate and talk to each other. The one young kid thinks he s an MMA fighter so that s all he talked (or cussed) about. The food was despicable. The chicken was a month old, brisket was overcooked, sausage was dried out, and the beans were rancid. The best thing was the baked potato. The server was real nice. She even took my meal off my ticket after noticing I was gonna throw the whole thing away. I wouldn t come back here to let my dog eat.

Got two steaks, but it looks like the bulls were marathon runners. All muscles. Mashed potatoes were so salty, need a galling of coke to flush the system. The worst thing was the waiter s attitude. Had a feeling he did not want to see us, or we came at a wrong time. Children were happy though watching the pigeons running all over the tables. But this was our own choice to sit outside. Then I ordered basic burger prepared medium and received it very well done .but waiter did not check on me until 10 minutes after I received my burger. While visiting Houston, we wanted to visit the Riverwalk and San Antonio. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful on the Riverwalk. On a date night, we wanted to stop in because they have a cowboy. It was a Friday night and extremely busy, but we were able to go up without a wait. Interesting that it was half empty when the entire Riverwalk was completely crowded. I ordered the fillet without the bacon with a side salad and a baked potato and grilled shrimp. I ordered it medium rare and it came out out well done dry, and chewy. On top of that, it was barely warm. It had absolutely no flavor. was nothing special and the salad dressings are all store bought. was was decent and the only thing that I could eat. The wild thing about the baked potato is that it wasn t even warm enough to melt the butter or the cheese I put in the middle. was cold and chewy and not pleasant at all. There was zero seasoning on it. The Hennessey margarita comes in a tall glass and has zero taste of Hennessy. Gave me a stomach ache after a couple of sips. It was sweet and nasty!!! I will never go back to this restaurant or recommend this to anyone. Kid-friendliness: There were a lot of kids around very family-friendly environment.

If there were an option for negative stars this place would earn them. We dropped in for a quick lunch. After being seated, we were entirely ignored for roughly 10 minutes as servers all stood around mere feet from our table gossiping and chatting. Eventually one of the servers gossiping yelled back to the kitchen, Hey Penelope you ve got people out here waiting. Eventually Penelope appeared. She didn t seem pleased to be out taking our order, but we did manage to get an order placed. It took forever for food to come out, despite the cafe being nearly empty (which probably should have been the first clue to stay away). Our order included two burgers, fries with one burger and onion rings with the other. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. However, as my companion was drinking her beverage we noticed an anomaly with the drink. It looked as though someone had spit in the drink or otherwise tampered with it. Of course, our server was once again nowhere to be found. We decided it was time to settle the check and get out of this establishment. Eventually I stood up and wandered around the place hoping to get someone who could give me our bill. Apparently seeing me wander around, Penelope did come over. I informed her we were ready to pay and leave. Rather than providing me a bill, she rattled off a total from the screen of her handheld ordering device. I explained to Penelope that I wanted a printed ticket. She huffed and walked away, although she did return with a ticket. The total bill? $60 for the burgers, sides, and the tampered-with drink. Unbelievable! No apology for the terrible service, and no offer to remedy the spit-in drink. There are lots of great dining options in the area. This is not one of them. A good place to steer clear of. If you do roll the dice and venture inside, check your drinks and food carefully or you might become the next victim of spitting waitstaff (or whatever was in that drink).

We walked to this restaurant from our hotel and sat outside. It was a nice view of the riverwalk, but on the street level which had some entertaining homeless right next to us. We got burgers and the food was average, nothing extraordinary. Victoria was a our server and unfortunately, she had better things to do then wait on us. She took our order and we never saw her again. We received NO condiments, no refills, nothing. Will not eat here again, too many other restaurants to choose from.

Second time visiting this place, waiter was great, had lots of hussle in him and attentive. Appetizers were delicious: fried mushrooms were enough to feed 8 people, stuffed jalapeños had just enough spice. Steak was on point and made to perfection along with the baked potatoe. Eating lunch at 11am there were no crowds and no one sitting in our area, just like we like it.

Ordered the salmon and it was so uncooked it was slimy and raw. The burger was overcooked dried and rubbery. I saw another table send food back. Throughout the meal someone tried to sell us roses, someone wanted to take our photo, and a guy with violin player would not take no for an answer. The service was horrendous. Everyone asked for water and half received them. The others kept asking in the rare occasions when we saw the server. The place was mostly empty so that lack of a server was odd.

Nothing too fancy. Some nice seats by the river if you have a party of two. Staff was friendly. Youll find a range of Texas delights here including steak and catfish. Caesar salad was bigger than I thought it would be. Steak had a fair amount of gristle on it, but it was cooked well and looked just as good. Bathrooms were clean and usable.

Count your change. Went there this evening and waitress decided to keep my change. My bill was 31.37 and i paid wirh a 50 dollar bill. The waitress gave me 18.00 change and walked away. I paid cash instead of a credit card because I need the coins for exact change on the bus back to where we are staying. When I asked her for my coins she seemed shocked and said she would be back. We left when she didnt return. I did something I never do at a restaurant, I didnt leave a tip, but I guess she did get a .63 tip. I informed a hostess of the situation on our way out.

THIS PLACE IS ALL HYPED UP FOR NOTHING. The food is mediocre. It is very basic and bland. The pork chops have no flavoring. And they burn it on one side and cook it right on the other side. All the reviews are right when they say that the food is very basic and bland. For the price that you pay for stuff you would think it would be better. Even the chicken sandwich the chicken was completely dry. And it was hard to chew. Recommend eating somewhere else. The atmosphere is nice. We sat at the bar and even the bartender did not write our order down she tried to memorize it but she kept getting it wrong. They need to havve order pads. Because they keep getting the stuff wrong that they cannot memorize. I definitely will not come back here. This is my first and last time coming here. Save your money go somewhere else. Even the drinks taste WEAK. AND NOT THAT GREAT.

Ordered the Port A Grilled Shrimp, the menu said 8 Jumbo Shrimp, with 2 sides, I asked for veggie of the day(green beans) and mashed potato s. The shrimp were mediums at best and room temp, the mashed potatoes were clumpy and not even warm, the green beans were tasty and hot, but over cooked. The waiter said they ran out of Jumbos, I doubt they had any at all. For dessert I ordered vanilla ice cream, the flavor was very good, but the scoop was a bit soft and in a puddle of warmer ice cream. Not a good meal.

Went here on Valentines Day, and it kinda turned out to be a disaster. The server was a guy with khaki shorts who got my order wrong. It felt sexist due to me getting a salad instead of a steak. Worst of it, he kept trying to gaslight my husband, saying I wanted the salad. Knowing damn well, I wanted the steak. Then, when we tipped, my fiancé got cornered. He was asking No more? Definitely not worth it, hyped up. I will say that the atmosphere is pretty cool but that s about all this restaurant has going for it. If I m buying a steaks I would at least expect a decent quality one not all fat. The ribs are really bland and well over cooked. Very very dissatisfied and disappointed. The Chicken Fried Steak here is amazing. Made from real Cube Steak, it is the real thing. The breading to steak ratio was perfect. The portions are muy grande Texas sized. You get a lot for your money. The service was excellent. The view of the river is great from the balcony. This is a highly recommended restaurant to try when you are on the river walk.

We came to have a relaxing evening people watching at the riverwalk and the perfect spot for us was here at lonestar. We had a great spot outside overlooking the riverwalk! We had an amazing server, Shawn, who was very nice and accommodating. He was very quick with his service and didn t mind letting us just relax and enjoy our time.
