Got kicked out for complaining that my pizza was burnt. It was harder than a shingle and couldnt even be eaten. My dog wouldnt even eat it. Never going back again. Save yourself the time and money; skip this place. Oh, and did I mention they had to settle a federal lawsuit for stealing almost $29,000 from employees tips? Yeah, this place is despicable.

Says they were a card only establishment. server made accommodation. service was great. Sicilian pizza great. Sign up for offline its great. Kid-friendliness: Its a bar restaurant type of setting. Really cozy. I seen a couple of kids in there enjoying dinner with mom and dad. At dinner time.

Food was decent, but we did wait over 40-50 minutes for 1 pizza. We won t be going back because the pizza wasn t worth the wait in terms of taste, price (over 30 dollars), and size (picture included). We were surprised because the restaurant had a good atmosphere and there were only 4 other tables when we arrived so it was surprising the food took so long. They also kept saying that the oven was slow today but looking at some of the other reviews (from other days) it seems like we weren t the only ones who experienced waiting a long time for our food. This is something they need to fix if there s already so many complaints about it

Hands down the worst dining experience I ve ever had. Not only was the reservation pushed back an hour (which we totally understood and was cool with), but we didn t actually get served til almost an hour after sitting and the majority of the table is leaving without food. It even took 40 minutes (we timed it) just to get our check to leave. We ve been here from 8-11pm and almost everyone is leaving hungry Also $2 for that lil thing of ranch?? Be so Forreal

The truth is that it is a beautiful place, however the customer service leaves a lot to be desired since at first it took 20 minutes just to serve our drinks, then it took them a while to bring them, we waited two hours for a pizza and a pasta, the waiter tried to be friendly after behaving a little rude, the food is delicious, no doubt about that! But it is a small place with enough waiters and they cannot give you the proper attention, I am a foreigner and my accounts were frozen so I assumed that like in any establishment you could pay in cash, in this case not! They only accept pure card payment, it is also another point to consider, since if they had not accepted my cash I dont know how I would have paid, I hope they improve in customer service

The staff was a delight, checking in on us & advising us on several things to try. The Buratta was our favorite (& don t forget the hit honey when you get it!). Our main was the big charcuterie plate, where we both fell over heels for everything, especially the triple cream brie. (The only small problems were the lack of parking & the flies inside we had to shoo away from our plates.)

Barbaro is a fantastic spot! The staff is very welcoming, and I love the interiors industrial style look. Their New York Style Pizza is delicious and definitely worth trying. Note that they do not accept cash and a 3.5% transaction fee will be applied to the bill. Theres a free small parking lot on the side of the building and more free street parking in the adjacent neighborhood, though finding a spot can be a challenge during busy times. Overall, a great experience! Parking: Parking can be a bit difficult during busy hours

Especially the crust that is not burnt to a crisp. It looks fancy, but thats the only good thing about it. Nearly zero flavor. And obviously didnt hold heat at all because its so light on density.. Neat looking place though. I dont recommend it, because my perceived value would be like $7 instead of the $33 that I paid.

I went into Barbaro with my husband at 6:30pm yesterday evening and the host made me feel terrible. It was not busy and the host was hugging and smiling with a group of guests for a while before noticing us. When he was done, he asked us for how many (2) and if a high top table was okay. I am 8 months pregnant, and very visibly 8 months pregnant, I told him I would prefer not since I am pregnant. He then said it would be 25-30 minutes. There were a number of tables available. I said that was a long time, and my husband and I left. I immediately felt as if we were not worthy enough for this host to be seated, and I would not humor this pompous host with my time after expressing a physical need to him. Unfortunate, since we just moved into the neighborhood, this will not be a go to spot for us.

Visited Barbaro on Valentines Day, by myself, and was excited to try a restaurant I had heard so much about. The bar had one seat remaining, and I sat down to nice music and great atmosphere. I ordered a drink called Borrowed Time. I wish I could tell everyone how it was, but I was advised while being served the drink that they needed a credit card to run a tab, and that they did not accept cash. I only had cash, so I was forced to get up and leave. No drink and no meal. I attempted to return later in the evening with a card and unfortunately every seat was taken at that point, and so again, I was forced to leave. I have heard of restaurants being cash only, but never card only. The experience was actually somewhat humiliating.

I was so excited to bring my sister back to this location. But the service we experienced was truly disappointing. Two gentlemen sitting next to us were completely wasted and harassing the whole restaurant, like truly slurring words kept hitting on us and even attempted to pull us out our chair to dance while we were just trying to enjoy our lunch at 3pm on a Saturday. The fact that the waitress kept serving them alcohol was truly devastating. Every guest in the restaurant looked uncomfortable. On top of that they kept harassing the waitress taking pictures of her and trying to get her number and the fact they never got a manager to kick them out was unbelievable. When the men finally left our waitress just said thank god and continued to laugh about the situation.. but as a paying costumer it ruined the whole experience for us. The waiters didnt even ask to move us or accommodate us when these two gentleman came up to us and put their arms around us trying to join our table. We didn t even feel safe but at that point we were halfway through our meal. On top of that, I went to the bathroom to get away for a moment and the bathroom was covered in pee and glass on the toilet seat and floor. Very disappointing experience.. don t know if i will be back to this location.

I will never be back here. The service was awful. We were sat at 6pm, and by 6:45, a waiter had still not approached our table. When I finally went inside to ask about it, the host was very apologetic, but the server who had been serving the 3 outside tables next to us had been ignoring us for 45 minutes. She was pleasant with the tables around us, but with us she was cold, short, and snappy. She would check on the tables next to us, but put her head down and walk past us or give our table the side eye. When we finally got our food, we could tell that our pizza had been sitting long enough, enough that the cheese had solidified again. The food was good, but not worth the awful service and experience we had here. This was the worst dining experience of my life, and myself or anyone that I know will never be back or try this place again.

We decided to go to Barbaro for our monthly book club brunch. The service was incredibly slow and the food was mediocre at best. We waited over 40 minutes for basic cocktails that are listed as bottomless and then waited an additional 45 minutes for our second round of drinks. The arugula salad was overpriced and had almost nothing on it except a sprinkle of parmesan and a few almonds. It has been ages since I dined here. We decided to go yesterday evening. Will not be returning. Parking was difficult, many cars were parked over the lines. It was not that busy when we got inside. We were seated after a few minutes. The lighting made it very difficult to read the new very limited menu. Then we noticed that they do not take cash. We only saw mixed drinks and wines on the menu. We waited for our waitress or any of the 5 employees standing around behind the bar chatting with each other to approach us because we had several questions. After waiting for 10 minutes several of the wait staff passed our table but looked down when they passed. We decided to leave. We will not be returning and will not suggest this business to anyone until the employees learn what customer service is.

Love the ambiance and the drinks! The service is friendly and attentive. The reverse happy hour was fun with great prices. We loved the frozen grasshopper too! The pizza is decent. Great for San Antonio but overall I m usually a bit disappointed in the crust which is often crackery or a bit burnt. But I ll still go back because it s got great vibes!

Uhhhhmazingly delicious pizza and snacks! The space has just the right amount of ambience and it s perfect for a cute date or cosy get together with a friend or two. It s quite comfortable in there. Their pizza is absolutely delicious. They have an array of their own pizza creations to choose from OR you can make your own (their selection of toppings is superb). May I recommend a pepperoni with roasted garlic, basil, and capers? By the way the staff and service was fabulous and their music was super chill. Overall, I recommend Barbaro. Make a reservation if it s a weekend! ;)

Had a creative cocktail menu but 2 of their drinks were too sour to drink! One was the Negroni. Ordered the Ceasar salad which was 4 leaves of lettuce with 2 anchovies just thrown on top with cheese. Bland. Ordered the clams casino pizza which was unnecessarily very spicy and not reflective of the ingredients listed. Would not go back. Parking: Limited number of spots to park

Food was great. Service was nice and helpful and pleasant, drinks were perfect and strong. And the music was blended perfectly. I just wish I had gotten there before the fried mozzarella had ran out. I was truly looking forests to those. But overall everything was great with some minor inconsistencies when we ordered by the slice. The one weird (not bad) thing was the way the ceaser was served. Kinda put a head of lettuce on a plate and dressed it. Still good just never seen it that way.

Had a wonderful time out at Barbaro with family. Barbaro is located on a corner in a neighborhood area which makes the restaurant feel rather cozy. The ambiance is nice with great alternative music selections. The Happy Hour drinks are top quality and very tasty. The pizza is definitely in my top 3 for the best in San Antonio. Great service with very friendly staff. My only gripe is the credit card only policy which I dont care much about at all. At least I can still leave a cash tip to the servers which did make them quite happy. Anyway, I do highly recommend you give this place a visit.

My honest assessment of Barbaro is that each time we go the experience gets worse and worse. When we initially started going I thought it was great but after several trips I now realize this place has a huge problem with consistency. Sometimes the service is good and other times it s horrible. Same for the food. Wait times are really long and for me it s just not worth it anymore. Why would I wait so long for a gamble when there are nearby places half the price that will deliver a much more consistent experience. Probably will be my last trip here and that s disappointing because I do like the atmosphere.

This establishment was a letdown. For starters, this restaurant has very limited parking. Second, the food is mediocre. I thought the pizza was good, but it wasnt any better, or even as good, as other gluten-free pizza places in San Antonio. Furthermore, they charge a lot for toppings but dont give you much. For $3, you get a few small mushroom slices on each pizza slice (see photo). Third, I was excited about the $6 cocktails, which were listed on the menu we were given, and my mother and I each ordered one (the rose all-day is not a very generous portion, about half of a small glass). However, when we received the bill, they were listed as $12 each, and I had to ask the waitress to change it. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, they do not accept cash and instead charge a service fee on each tab. This is a very shady and cheap practice, and we will not return.

Barbaro creates a wonderful pizza and cocktail experience unlike any other in San Antonio. They can do the classic cocktails, they create some delicious house pours, and they should be considered among the better cocktail houses to pick from. But the pizza is the real gem. It might be the best pizza in San Antonio. The crust is crisp, the toppings are fresh, and the prices are shockingly reasonable. They eve. Offer $3 slices between 10pm-midnight for your late night cravings! My only complaint is that they charge for basil which, in my opinion, should be as standard as adding cheese. Go eat here because its always a good idea. Parking: You likely wont find a spot in their tiny parking lot so immediately search for street parking instead

Overall, really enjoyed my experience here. Started with the garlic knots which were pretty awesome in their marinara sauce. Next tried a caesar salad which wasn t my favorite. I would have probably preferred a little bit more dressing. It also came in whole romain leaves you needed to cut but there really wasn t enough room to do so. Then we went for a NY style pizza with sausage and pepperoncini peppers. Loved the pie and the crust was amazing. Also tried some drinks. A couple of the drink specials including a banana pina colada and horchata colada. I enjoyed those a lot. Also gave the rose all day a try. If you want something light that will awesome. Parking: Street parking was reasonably available early on a saturday.

A heads up would have been nice. I couldnt eat my meal because of the spice level. We will not be going there again trendy or not. I was dining with my daughter, she enjoys spicy food but could not eat her food. A shame we spent $65 and change for a meal we couldnt even eat. We tipped the server 20%.

We had reservations for 6:15 but got there early. The hostess that greeted us was anything but friendly. Since they couldn t sit us early we sat at the bar for like 20 min or so which wasn t bad. The bar tenders were quick and friendly. I ordered a frozen French coffee and my boyfriend ordered a Blanche devereaux. Drinks were on point and the bartender with the Coors hat was the bees knees! He s practically why this got a 2 star rating for the service. Once we were seated, we ordered all the food we wanted. We ordered garlic knots (not pictured) , Caesar salad, and a NY style pizza. The garlic knots were good but lacked a bit of garlic. We waited for more than 30 mins and realized that our waitress was no where to be seen. The last time we saw her was when she had brought the plates for the salad/pizza. Bottom line we never got our salad, but I read from some one else it is fresh and tasty. Our waitress finally came to our table around 7 pm and asked if had gotten our salad. We essentially just ended up asking for the pizza to go and she responded with I ll off the salad. There was no apology and she never informed us that the pizza was going to take 45 min and she didn t even check on us. We at the pizza in the car because we had somewhere else to go to. The pizza was good! Not sure if we will be back.
