A beautiful experience. I went in a little nervous and insecure for a headshot and came out with impressive images of myself. Yes, they were of me! Richard took shots, with what seemed like endless posing, and Patty was on hand with gentle smiles and quiet cheering to help me relax into my poses. I wish that I could give 10 stars instead of the 5 allowed by Google. Richards Photography is absolutely wonderful, as they fit me into their busy schedule at short notice. They are experts at the art and science of photography. I came to the the studio a bit nervous, but Mr. & Mrs. Rives made me feel at ease and patiently guided me thru the photo shoot. My professional photos are way beyond my expectations. They took this green-suitor and turned me into a civil professional. I hardly didnt recognize the virtuoso staring back at me in the photos. What an absolutely amazing experience! My photos came out beautiful and the photographer was truly an artist. I highly recommend letting him create his own vision and taking photos that are more creative! You wont regret it!! For reference, I needed photos that are more for posters, linked in, and post cards. With the images I got, they are more than perfect, on top of that, I really feel that they will help me stand out versus others.

For someone that doesnt really like to get their photo much, Richard and Patty were great. They were very professional and hospitable, while we also had fun with trying different poses and lighting to get the best result. I went to Richards photography for a military photo. I am super impressed and excited about my experience. This was my first photo shoot in years and I am extremely impressed with their service. Although their website lists all of their services, I was able to call and speak with his wife, Patty, who excitedly and patiently explained to me the services they provide (yes, a real person answered the phone!). Two days before my appointment at Richards, I took a photo in a military studio on base; however, the military studio is limited to a certain # of retakes and retouches. Long story, short, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my pictures!!!!! Richard and Patti made me feel very welcomed in their home and offered superior customer service with a smile. If you need a professional touch, I highly recommend Richards photography. Thank you, Richard and Patty. I cannot stop smiling while looking at my pictures. I will be back!

I needed a headshot and wanted something a little more refined than the ones I could have gotten at work for free. Richard and Patty are a true gem. After browsing many photographers all throughout San Antonio I decided on Richard s photography. They were able to see me the very same day I called them up. I had called many other photographers and Richard s photography was the quickest to respond and most competent in the business in my opinion. I was in a rush to get business head shots for business cards, social media, etc. and was so relieved once I found out that they would be able to accommodate me so quickly. I made my appointment by calling in and was impressed with how well my questions were answered and the great customer service. Once my appointment was made, I received clear and concise information on how to prepare for the picture day, directions, and helpful information about photography in general which was really helpful. The home studio is in a very nice and secure gated community in San Antonio. The process couldn t have gone any smoother. I was in and out with a great selection of different pictures to choose from. The price is very reasonable once you find out what other places are charging. You get what you pay for in my opinion, and this was well worth it! Keep up great work guys!

My family has had a rough year, particularly my sister whose husband passed away this last May to a years battle with stomach cancer. Given how crazy things have been for my family, my nephew (who is a senior in high school), did not get his senior pictures taken during the summer, as many seniors do. I spoke with my sister, and since she has still been overwhelmed with everything, I offered to organize my nephew s senior photo shoot over the Thanksgiving break when we were all in town visiting my parents in San Antonio (my sister and nephew live in the small Texas town of Three Rivers). Since my nephew is on the autism spectrum and knowing we would need to find someone who he could comfortably work with, it was important for me to find a photographer who not only had high quality pictures but whose reviews spoke highly of a pleasant and fun experience. I thought I hit the jackpot when I came across Richard s Photography (a great photographer who seemed to provide an easy photo shoot experience and who was also available to take pictures Thanksgiving week.) Though that s as far as we got as we started running into problems during the booking process. After confirming and setting a date (and after we told my nephew who was very excited to finally have his pictures takes) we began to discuss the contract. After clarifying that I would be paying in order to help my sister out with the logistics, I was told they couldn t accept my billing address because it is a PO Box rather than a physical address (as do a lot of the citizens of Three Rivers, TX welcome to rural Texas.) While other companies don t question our billing address (most just need it to run the credit cards and because it always goes through, there is never an issue) we were told it was still their policy. While this seemed like an unusual hassle, we also understand businesses have the right to set their own policies. Because of that, we then offered to provide other methods of payment (use my parent s credit card who live in San Antonio; paying totally upfront to give them a chance to run the card well in advance of the photo shoot to allow the card to process and the payment to go through; or even paying through a verified third party, such as PayPal or Venmo.) Though even after offering this, we were told No, sorry we cant do that. Im sorry, but I dont think this is going to work out. Weve been advised not to. I hope you can find a photographer that can work within your parameters and were treated at best as a second class citizen coming from rural Texas, whose mail operates differently than in the city; or at worst, as some kind of criminal trying to scam them! I have never run into problems using my billing address with any other company or business and am not sure why that not only disqualified me from using my card to hold the contract but that it would also disqualify the entire photo shoot to happen, even if we were willing to provide alternative ways to pay! (My parents who were not thrilled to help, were willing to use their card for the sake of my sister and nephew.) I have never experienced a company who was so reluctant to receive a payment from a customer. We are obviously moving to Plan B, but now are forced to find another company who is still available Thanksgiving Week as we have already told my nephew and he is already so looking forward to his Senior Pictures Photo Shoot during that time.

I looked all around the north side of San Antonio for five star review photographers to do my headshots and I came across Richards Photography. When I looked through his gallery I was astonished by his work. I had never seen headshot that brought out the life in people. Richard and Patty are great professionals. From setting up the appointment to getting the copies of the shoot was a breeze. I have never done a headshot or been part of a photo shoot. Richard and Patty were contacted to take photos of a military funeral for a close friend of my family. We are located on the East Coast but the Funeral took place in San Antonio and due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to make it. After receiving permission from the family, Richard and Patty went to work ensuring that they traced every detail. The only information provided was the Soldier s name and the date of burial service (we didn t have much more information than that). They contacted the burial grounds and retrieved all the missing information and ensured that when they arrived that they were discrete and did not disturb the family. The spoke with our friend s widow and offered condolences such a sweet unexpected gesture. The widow even contacted us and let us know how wonderful and kind they were. Richard and Patty were definitely contacted during a difficult time and they handled themselves in such a way that it gave us a sense of relief knowing that everything was taken care of even if we never actually got the opportunity to meet them. They stayed in contact with us to ensure that we were kept in the loop on every detail. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and willingness to handle all the details. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs photography services. Their kindness is above par and will restore your faith in humanity.
