If you care about your kids AVOID HIRING HIM. During the consultation, he was nice. He was listening. He even told me he had kids the same age as my kids which made me trust him and handed him my money. Once he got the money, I realize I made a big mistake. I saw some reviews online and I messaged him. I said he I saw those reviews. I don t like them, but I already pay you. Can you do the job and he said those are just people who are not happy or they lost against me. Our very first day in court he was late. Court was supposed to be at 8 AM. He didn t show up till 1145. He lied. You can look in those text messages. I posted. He told one person he was sick. He told me that he was going to be running late, he didn t even prep me. The prep was like five minutes the day of court he decided to prep me for five minutes over the phone and billed me for one hour. They were lawyers in the courtroom, laughing at him the judge was laughing at him. It was the most embarrassing thing I had to go through that day. Before you hire him, go to presiding and ask any lawyer there what are your chances with BRIONES as your attorney? They will laugh and tell you to do better and I should ve known better. He is not a good attorney. He will waste your time and money and you will potentially lose your kids. I almost lost my kids because of this guy.He will sit there and take it. All he cares is your money.

I dont trust the negative reviews. Especially the post where the person shared screen capture of text messages. Who calls their attorney dude in a text exchange with them. Additionally, those text messages prove nothing. Claiming that attorneys and the judge were laughing at another lawyer is HIGHLY doubtful, I dont care how bad the attorney is. Ive hired Mr. Briones and he has been more than considerate and responsive. Which is exactly what the other reviewers post revealed, for a horrible lawyer, he responded to the texts. I hope that people who read the negative reviews, also read the positive ones. I am a current client and I feel that I am well represented in my divorce. Karen W

My case is not completed yet, but Maris and Mr. Briones have made me feel okay and calm throughout my process so far. I have been in fear for years against people with power over me. The first thing he said after reviewing my case is that I do not have to be afraid anymore. Maris is always the one answering my calls and making me feel better once I start becoming worried. She walks me through everything. Its been a rough few years and I feel like I can breathe everytime I talk to her and she tells me whats going on, and what is happening next. I appreciate them so much after the abuse I have endured for many years.

Honestly he did great in my divorce case and we won what we needed. His office always answers my calls, he also gave me his personal number which felt very calming and reassuring. The only thing I would give you guys a heads up he is a very straightforward man he is going to say everything as is and not filtered which is good and scary at the same time.

SCAMMER!!! DO NOT HIRE!!! This person doesnt even deserve to be called a lawyer because he does no attorney work at all. Do not believe all the fake 5-star reviews, the 1-star reviews are exactly who this lazy unintelligent person is. He will call you and message you constantly trying to get your business. During the in-person consultation, he talks a big game like hes a feared lawyer when in fact hes the exact opposite. Just stop and look at his business office. First of all, he doesnt have one, he rents a chair and desk from another lawyer. He doesnt have any paralegals or anyone who works for him. Instead, he uses the office receptionist as his paralegal . Once you pay him he doesnt do anything, I sent him evidence, a timeline of events, and photos at his request. In court, he doesnt have a clue whats going on and never used a single document, photo, or any of the evidence I supplied to him. He will leave you in shock by his unprofessionalism and lack of preparation. He showed up to court with a completely empty soft briefcase literally nothing was in it. Honestly, its sad and disgusting how this man scams his clients but Im a firm believer in you reap what you sew. Lastly, mark my words he is going to respond to this review with, Ive never represented anyone with your name. You have the wrong lawyer, please delete the review. dont believe him. The fact is he just doesnt remember who he scammed for their money.

I do not recommend Mr. Briones . He s been working on my custody order since June of 2022. Most of the time I had court, he kept on canceling our court dates, and the judge got upset, so he referred us to a mediator. With the mediator involved things got done . My daughter has been living with me since May of 2023. I am still getting charge for child support. Mr. Briones was supposed to put in an order for child support to get stopped in December after we came into an agreement with the mediator and the other parties, Attorney. We are in March and still nothing has been resolved. This frustration because I m in California and I m not able to do much if I m across the state.

Ricardo has been our family Lawyer since 2018. His first case for us was a custody case for my husband while I was skeptical about him at first I allowed him to do his job. Ricardo ended up showing me what he was all about and that s fighting for what you want and what was right! My husband was awarded full custody of his two children. The next adventure we had was another outstanding job. He appealed a decision from the judge of locking my son up for 4 years which a court appointed attorney was representing him. After Mr Briones fought hard in court for my son and he was let out on probation. Till this day I can call or text Mr. Briones if I m ever in a situation and he always responds to me on how I can handle a situation. I can t thank him enough!!! Don t think twice hire him for any family or criminal case!!!

First of all.. I have never met such an unprofessional lawyer who said they would be on top of my case I had to basically call numerous amount of times to ever get a response back. And the times I did, he would respond ok I text and said he would call on a certain day but never happened. I would have to call him. and when we would speak on the phone he had no idea what I was even talking about.. mind you, I send him multiple emails of timelines and evidence of my case and he still didn t have a clue. All he cares about is the money. Whatever you do. Please do not hire him. He is a scammer. He doesn t care. And all he cares about is the money. Not the client.

I have used the services of Mr. Briones for 2 divorce cases and have won both. In the first case he even got me custody of my daughter. The second case was simple and didnt pay any amount of money to my ex who was asking for large amounts. He explains everything very well and always responds when needed. Also before I obtain Mr. Briones I called about 10 different attorneys and not one could come close the retainer fee Mr. Briones asks for. Very satisfied always.

Do not use his services! I have not received any final paperwork. Judge ruled in my favor for alimony, yet he didnt want to go after my ex for payment waste of money! If I give no stars, he would receive that! Also it took almost 2yrs for divorce.

During the course of my case, this firm never gave me updates, nor they tried to contact me to inform me if paperwork was missing. Further, each time I called to ask if there s anything I could do to expedite my case, I would get different answers (each of them I complied with what was required of me). In one instance, I tried to express my frustration with the lack of communication with me and Raymond simply hung up on me. Each call I was made feel I nagged too much. Wouldn t you if you spent thousands for their services? I believe that by simply keeping me informed with progress it would ve prevented any frustration. That s the solution to this problem. Very simple. Because if this experience, I won t be hiring their services in the future. Hope this helps anyone looking for good service in their troubled times.

Run the other way!! This attorney is a crook! He will take your retainer and do nothing or do it all wrong, then charge you for his corrections. When you decide to move on he will invoice you that you owe him money! What a joke, literally did nothing on my case. Thought he was for the people, he is not. Don t believe all the positive reviews like I did. Obviously they are fake.

Mr Briones was absolutely amazing through the whole process. Mr Briones offfered us payment arrangements so i was able to pay as i could. We went to court for visitation for my granddaughter while my son was incarcerated. He did not help us. I wanted him to hold my grandaughters mother in contempt of court but he had excuse all the time that more paperwork needed to be filled. Waste of time.

The worst lawyer I have ever met, I do not recommend him. I hope you read this comment before hiring his services, I hired him and he never attended to my case, I paid him 2000 dollars in advance, but I never received anything from his services, he never returned my calls, apart from that he is a liar, when I could finally talk I made up stories with him because he didnt even take the time to read my brothers case. Those 2,000 that I paid him were just money thrown into the trash, only the day I paid him the 2,000, he took good care of me and from then on he never returned a little interest. The good thing was that I fired him from my case before paying him any more money. Seriously, if you think about hiring him, think twice and dont waste your time.

I went to see Mr. Briones for a consultation in December of last year. My ex wife was moving to Laredo and taking our son to go live over there. I asked Mr. Briones for help and he recommended that we file for a modification to have my son come live me with and not have to go to Laredo. It seemed impossible and I never thought I would have a chance but Mr. Briones was very certain that we could fight for this. I didnt have very much money to pay for a retainer so he asked for a little up front and put me on a payment plan. We went to court a few times and at the last hearing we won. My son now lives with me full time and I couldnt ask for a better lawyer on my side then Ricardo Briones.

I highly recommend hiring Ricardo Briones for family law matters, specifically in divorce and custody cases which are high conflict.
