AN ABSOLUTE GODSEND! My husband was accused of a very serious crime by his sister and niece about 5 years ago. After being pulled over in his home state of Utah was informed of these charges and was transferred to Texas and incarcerated for almost a year without any bond or seeing a judge. After finally seeing a judge informed her of the details and she immediately said she was going to assign him a good attorney that would help him. THANK GOD SHE DID ...he was finally offered a bond and was able to get out. Unlike the other attorneys he did not try to convince him to take a plea deal and actually advised him he shouldnt. Mr. Emmons always kept us informed, fought endlessly with the DAs and continued to support my husband and his innocence. Even though my husband does not have the best record he listened to him and supported him in every way possible. After all the years of stress and court appearances he was able to get the case dismissed and could not wait to tell us face to face which meant the world. I could go on and on about the endless blessings this man has done for us but there is not enough room to do so. About 2 years ago I was falsely accused of a crime, interfering with an emergency phone call . It is a class A misdemeanor and may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people, it is definitely a mark on my clean record. Mr. Emmons is an excellent attorney. After a failure of representation from a prior attorney that resulted in my case being upgraded from a class B misdemeanor to a 3rd degree felony charge, I contacted Mr. Emmons. He was able to fight for me and make a plea deal with the prosecution office to drop the felony charge back down to a class B misdemeanor. Mr. Emmons was always very honest and forth coming on what was happening with my case and what to expect. I don t plan on ever needing another criminal defense attorney, but if I do Mr. Emmons will be my first call.

This was the 2nd time I have used Derek Emmons as an attorney, back in 2006 (case ended in the best outcome possible) and now again in 2017-today. Almost 2 years ago I was accused of driving under the influence after I was in a bad car accident and I blacked out after smashing my head against the steering wheel. (The airbags never deployed, I later found out) Next thing I remember is waking up in a jail cell with my hands shackled behind my back. The accident occurred at approximately 8pm and I didn t regain consciousness until approximately 4am the next morning, just to give you a sense of how long I was knocked out. I was never offered EMS help just taken straight to jail... Well today I won my court case thanks to the amazing, detailed work and research done by Mr. Emmons and his team, proving I am INNOCENT of driving a motor vehicle under the influence! The first thing all clients want is an intelligent, knowledgeable lawyer to represent us. The second is a lawyer who truly cares and actually listens to your story and concerns. In the middle of the worst nightmare a mother could imagine, I found Derek Emmons through an internet search on the day my son was involved in a horrible situation. This man became my rock throughout the next year and a half of criminal investigations and legal proceedings. I met with Derek within a few hours of my sons arrest, and he listened to me and made sense of my frantic ramblings. His calm demeanor, interest in the case, and his knowledge and advice on the law assured me that I had found the right attorney to represent my son.
