I had the pleasure of being served by Diana downstairs at the esquire. she truly made my experience exceptional. From the moment I sat down, her warm and friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere. Dianas skill in crafting cocktails is impressive; each drink was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Diana is the best! I don t drink anymore but she always makes me some pretty tasty mocktails. I use to just tell her what I liked to taste and she d just whip something right up! Now she just knows what I like. She s literally the best! Go, ask for Diana, she s amazing! Sorry I m yelling throughout this review. I just love her. <3

They have a nice selection of harder to find bourbons that typically don t show up on bar menus. They had one of my favorites, Michter s toasted series sour mash rye. The do table service as well as service at the bar. The atmosphere is nice and dark with some fun fish themed decor. It s a great place to relax while you wait for dinner reservations or for an after dinner drink.

Cozy, speakeasy downstairs bar underneath the Esquire. Can be reached from the Riverwalk (walk right in) or street-level (go in, turn left and go through the door that says downstairs). I prefer the Downstairs because its a bit darker, quiet atmosphere, and sorta lesser known. Steve is the only bartender Ive talked to but hes incredibly knowledgeable and willing to try personalized drinks and talk about the full history of a drink. Its also a good bar if you just want to sit in the corner and chill with your friends. The house special drinks are on the pricey side, but thats expected for a reputable establishment downtown on the Riverwalk. Worth the hype to try them every once in a while!

This speakeasy-esque spot on the riverwalk is a hidden gem! Unassuming entryway leads into a dark moody ambiance inside. Perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap. Make sure to eat before or have plans for after since they do not serve food. Service and drink was great. Excited to return in the future!

As a bartender Im very selective about ordering anything but straight liquor at bars. Steven the bartender was outstanding! One of the best around. His knowledge of spirits and libations was second to none. Cant say enough good things about his character and charisma. Took everyones night to another level. Tried several cocktails that were not on the menu, merely suggest what you are in the mood for and Steven can craft something amazing.

Speakeasy vide, cool tunes, great tunes and even better drinks. 200 top shelf spirits. Wife and I always enjoy it here on our tour of downtown SA. Come check it out. We will be back
