I wished i had seen the reviews before we tried the Sunday brunch, the buffet was very limited. The menudo was bland. It seemed food had been sitting there a while before they opened the doors. Not worth the price. We had a 2 yr old baby and had to pay full price $22. She had a bean taco. We paid $254 for a party of 5 and baby. The buffet line gets pretty long and by the time you get food your not hungry anymore and youve missed family time.

The atmosphere is 10000000/10. I walked in here for the first time about 2 years ago after eating at a restaurant across the street. From the outside, Casa Hernan is subtle, apart from the large metal sign. When you walk in wow. There are so many unique pieces. I spent hours in here just finding new things to look at. During the day it s a restaurant and at night it s a bar/club. I ve been during both times and it s a great place any time.

Absolutely exquisite architecture and decor, authentic cuisine and top notch friendly staff. The unique features like the tree in the middle of the restaurant, the giant gorgeous candelabra altar, the cultural masks and intricate carved wood and sculptures make this place a departure from the norm in the best of ways. This is the perfect place for date night, brunch, and special occasions. I will definitely be back.

Been wanting to try it so decided to take my parents here for Sunday Brunch. My parents did enjoy the food, but were embarrassed to go for a second plate because the set up was quite odd. All the tables were in the back and the food was way up front by the main door. For $35.00 a person before drinks, I was expecting to see more than 6 things on the buffet. The music was loud and we resorted to hand signals with the waitstaff. I will say the service was good. They honestly were the reason for the 3 stars. Skip the brunch, maybe come when they have the dinner menu.

Theres no one to greet you when you come in so you dont know what to do. . Other guest had to tell you. To go back to the front to get your food is silly. You should have it in the back or the red room. For a brunch everyone should have a table not a seat with a side table.. its very uncomfortable to eat there. The bartender wasnt very friendly and had a attitude. There should be regular coffee too.. the specialty coffee spice was too much for me. There were no napkins or utensils.. you had to find them. The music was too loud. Sunday is family day so turn down the music. The food was great but because I didnt want to walk through the crowd of people I didnt get a second plate. We loved the art! With a few tweaks it will be awesome!

I had been waiting to go to this restaurant for over a year however I am a mom of two little ones and it s hard to get a sitter. I finally was able to get a date night with my hubby and since walking in we felt bad vibes and not good service. Prior to going to the restaurant we had checked if there was a waitlist and it said there wasn t otherwise we would ve made one (hence me wanting to try this place for so long). Upon us getting there we walk in and there was a group of 4 in front of my husband and I they got sat fairly quickly, it s our turn to get sat and all of a sudden the manager tells us there is no more tables the rest are reserved and we only have one chair left at the bar (we had plan to have dinner and try the food) so we got sat at the bar and asked if we can be put on the waitlist for the next available table. Once at the bar it took a while to get service, once we did we get ask are y all ready? Without knowing what drinks they have or seeing a menu??? Who does that? We ask for a menu and look over it and order two drinks. They were ok over priced if you ask me. While at the bar waiting for our drinks we saw two groups walk in and get sat with no reservation because my husband asked (the manager who sat us) and his excuse was they had reservations yet he asked them for how many when he sat them??? Wouldn t you know that if they made reservations because it asks you when you make the reservation! None the less we left after finishing our drink because we did not feel welcomed with customer service and was not going to eat at the bar (I was planning to order an app/entre and dessert to try everything). I don t plan on ever going back or giving my business to any of his restaurant chains anymore (I loved La Gloria) now I won t be back. Thanks to the manager who ruined my experience and won t return.

The enjoy our traditional Mexican breakfast, but this was not too enjoyable. The barbacoa was practically floating with grease, the menudo pieces were a little too big and the temperature of the food was less than warm. I was really looking forward to trying another of Chef Hernandez restraunts, but this one disappointed. Sorry Chef. The eggs tasted rather powdery as well. The fresh fruit and pan dulce were a delight and the Cafe de oya was very tasty. The buffet was not worth the cost.

Came for lunch on a Sunday and was initially impressed with the decor and look of the restaurant. However, the food was average... possibly even below average. Nothing from the main course buffet to the deserts stands out as good food. And the atmosphere... its a Mexican restaurant with Mexican decor but the dj was blasting early 2000s hip hop/rap. Definitely will not return..not worth $50 per person (avg)

One of the worst services that I have had in a very long time, and was very excited to come to this place. The bartenders and drinks were good, but was waiting over an hour on a 30 minute wait while seeing people who came after me get sat with no reservation. When I did sit down my table hadnt been cleaned off yet, and was waiting for a server for 10 minutes and still no one (remind you I see them cleaning other tables for people who havent sat down). I had to get up to get a server, and then when someone tried to rectify the situation and get us a new table we then went to the buffet where there was no food or was scraps of food that has been sitting. Really upset because I went in with such a great mood.

Called and messaged on IG trying to reach someone for reservations. The phone number does not work and no one responds through messages. They made a IG post about mother s day brunch and said to make reservations, I commented on that post AND messaged again telling them I wasn t reaching anyone by phone, which they ignored. When we arrived they told us we should ve booked reservations. When I told them I tried and that the number doesn t work, the host said I know that s not the right number, you have to message us on IG. When I told him I did and that no one answered he said I know I m so sorry. We finally got sat after a long wait and having them trying to seat us in a waiting area to eat . And the brunch was really subpar, definitely not worth the cost per person. The server was also very inattentive. We will not be back.

Casa Hernan is not just a cantina; its an experience. From the moment you step inside, youre transported to a whimsical wonderland where a majestic tree stands proudly in the center, its branches stretching toward the ceiling. The atmosphere is nothing short of magical, with stunning glass and wood bartops that add a touch of elegance and warmth. The culinary journey begins with their botanas, each dish crafted to perfection. The Queso fundido, in particular, is a standout. Its, without a doubt, the best in the city, a gooey, melty delight that sets the bar high for cheese lovers everywhere. The flavors are rich and authentic, leaving you craving more with every bite. Complementing the delectable food are their incredible drinks. The martini flight is a must-try, not only for the exquisite taste but also for the presentation. The martini flight arrives with a mesmerizing light show accompaniment, turning your drinks into a visual spectacle thats almost too beautiful to consume. The servers at Casa Hernan are the epitome of hospitality. Theyre knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly attentive, ensuring that every aspect of your dining experience is flawless. Whether youre a first-time visitor or a regular, they make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Casa Hernan is a gem in the heart of the city near the gorgeous river, combining an enchanting atmosphere, exceptional cuisine, and top-notch service. Its a place where memories are made, and every visit feels like a special occasion.

The meat was very chewy with no flavor they put so much cheese, so u wont notice it when youre eating it. The drinks are over price along with the appetizers. I do recommend going during happy hour its worth that price. I went on a Wednesday at 5ish the place was empty music was on point though and the service is great very attentive. Unorganized, unorganized, unorganized....I was told the wait would be an hour wait (with a tone like I should just leave, but I was okay with the wait. ) and its been 2 hrs later. There is no host/hostess spot to check in with. There seems to be one person trying to run everything running around with a tablet I had to follow him around and finally get him to put me on a list, we went to the bar to get some drinks in the meantime and never got attention from anyone either. Couple at the bar let us know they never got called and were told they could eat at the bar so we took their seats. They need to be prepared and better organized if they want to serve brunch. They kept running out of food, and anything out in the open was already cold. There is no designated area for the food its all over the place where people are walking around and can easily touch and cough on it. There was a mix of people celebrating birthdays and such so it was very chaotic. The table we were at at the bar was never cleaned properly so we had old drinks and cans from previous people still sitting on our table and people kept placing their finished drinks right next to me. I was very embarrassed and uncomfortable with the whole situation because I hyped up the place and was really excited about it after seeing multiple posts even the same day about the brunch. This was not worth $30/person. The groups that had been there way before me outside were still there after I left.

Went here for brunch with my girlfriend and we were put on a wait list at 11:20, its now 1:30 and the wait list has only went down by 10. We were able to walk in, take some seats from another couple who were also on the wait list and said they never got called and were still not called by the time they left. We took their spots and ate at the bar. The food was already cold and most of it was missing. If they were working on replacing it, it is taking 45 minutes plus. Drinks were oky, but not worth the price. The entire time were here, theyre also hosting multiple birthday parties with the music flipping from Club to traditional mariachi. Needless to say the atmosphere was hectic and very stuffy. All the food also seems to come out from behind the bar which creates a congestional point. It would also appear that the person who maintains the check-in/guest list would routinely lose his iPad every 15 minutes and spend the next 15 minutes trying to find it. By the time we left, a group of three that we ended up in line with were still out there who got there before us but were served not even by the time we left 2 hours later. Like many, we saw this place through Instagram and it looked like a fantastic experience. I wholeheartedly recommend against going here as its simply just marketing and you will leave disappointed and frustrated with the service and atmosphere that is provided. Horrible.

So if you are planning to eat a meal that will fully satisfy your hunger, this will not be a right place to go to. This is more like a sit down, chill and drink type of place.

High energy vibe, thanks to the DJ. The music and videos kept us moving, grooving and having an amazing time on a Saturday Night. High-priced drinks (ughhhh) and the place is either not staffed properly or the service is just unfortunately bad. However, we were too busy jammin to care. Parking: They had a popup market up front so the vendors were taking up parking spots.

Went for Sunday brunch. Food was good, however, they should either mention that all the food is going to be spicy OR offer some dishes without any heat. -We took my mother, who had just gotten out of the hospital, and all hot dishes were spicy. (They had barbacoa and lengua but were out. ) They have desserts and fruit on the brunch table as well, but she cant have much sugar either. The place is beautiful, and well go back for dinner and drinks, but were definitely disappointed that my mother hardly had anything to eat.

A nice place, with a good atmosphere and delicious food. I visited on Sunday, all the staff were very friendly and attentive. Time passed very quickly, without a doubt we will return to try more of their dishes. The only thing that could improve are the tables, there are very few tables to eat at, it is understood that it is more of a bar type, but with the deliciousness of the food they will have to pay attention to that detail. A sincere congratulations to the entire Casa Hernan team, they achieved a good place.

First time coming to this restaurant and a soon a a walk in was impressive. The place is decorated with Friday Kahlo paintings all over. All the chairs are equípales that makes the place to look beautiful. Drinks were delicious decent variety but about food it can be better. The quesadillas were mostly a plain tortilla. Flautas weren t completely crispy. I ll definitely will come back just because of the drinks and environment. Almost forgot about service. Every single person inside were so nice.

Food was excellent, the piloncillo coffee was excellent. The service was quick, Buffett style Sunday brunch was perfect. I couldn t give a five star for atmosphere due to the loud DJ bar music . We were a party of 5, communication between us was very difficult. I did asked the DJ, the waitress and the manager via the waitress, if the music could be turned down a bit, it didn t happen. I won t be returning to this restaurant, nice place but too loud, maybe if I feel like having a drink during their happy hour, I then might enjoy the loud bar music.

We wanted to try something new and after seeing IG reels wanted to try this place out. Parking wasnt the best. We went inside and the atmosphere was bumping, but the customer service was nonexistent. The server who attempted to double as a host seemed nice but the customer attention all around was lacking. We and other patrons just stood there for close to 45 minutes and then the server came up to us and said they ran out of food. Seriously? Hopefully they can figure out some sort of host/hostess situation and food prep for the future.

I would have liked to try the place. I arrived at 11am oclock, that is when they open for the brunch, and there was already a line and the parking lot was full. There was no host to receive you or tell you the waiting time. Apparently there was a private event from early, if so, someone must have comw out to notify all the people that were outside in the sun waiting

I was very excited to try this brunch spot. I left disappointed after my experience. The music and atmospehere were nice, but would have been better if i had recieved more than one beverage throughout my meal. The food was mediocre at best. We waited an hour for a seat at the bar. After we ordered and recieved our initial beverages, we spent another hour of eating and chatting. No one ever checked up on us. To be fair it was busy and I was being patient. I finally had to ask one of the bartenders if i could order another beverage. I never got that beverage and everybody else at the bar reordered several times. My husband had to literally call out to them to get their attention to bring the check. I am going to choose to believe they forgot about us because they were busy, and not because I was the only black person in the restaurant. Patronize with caution.

The location is great, on-site parking is available, and the wait was quick (even though we arrived with the rush). Dj was jamming, and the environment was welcoming, and decor was lovely. The food was delicious, and is a buffet brunch. Mimosas were on point. Recommend the Pina Mimosa. Our server was on it and very sweet, so tip well if you go. We will make a point to be back. , also its not your corner taco house, so bring some Dinero. Parking: Location has a large area for parking and there is street parking. However, being in this location, I recommend carpooling.

We went this morning and we were very disappointed. We went to try the brunch and it was horrible. We got there at 11:00 which is when it opened. Not all the food was out and what was out was cold. They ran out of one dish and said it would be 10 minutes for them to bring out more. There s only five food entrees to chose from. The mimosa was warm and the coffee was nothing but cinnamon. They should just stick to being a cantina.

The staff was so very accommodating and really helped make the experience feel special. I believe our waitress was Angelica. She went above and beyond to keep us all fed and not waiting long for our next drink. The food was delicious and came out hot!The drinks though....those were exceptional! We tried the whole menu, but my favorite was the one with the watermelon! We danced the night away with the D.J. who also played requests for our special couple! The look and atmosphere of this really fun with all the sugar skulls and tree bar tops. Anyways the music was good from the DJ and eventhough they were busy the bartender never had us wait too long. Its pretty hidden from the street if you dont know its there you will drive past it. I suggest stopping by just be prepared to have to find a spot on the street to park.

This place was perfect for a relaxing cocktail and some food after a long day. It s unassuming and not very prominent from the street. The atmosphere is relaxed and they had some good music playing before the dj got started around 6. It was a slightly older crowd, which was nice. Mostly lounge areas and short tables, with a few regular sized tales throughout. We went during happy hour and we re surprised to get some free kettle chips with Valentina, cream and cojita cheese. I had several $3 Modelo Especials and my wife got a couple of specialty margarita that was strong enough to give her a chill. Lol! I loved the decor and it was reminiscent of the owners other places. The botanas felt heartier than Fruteria and we really enjoyed the Carne Asada tostada and Chorizo Quesadilla. There was an event for Judge Angelica Jimenez at the same time, but there was plenty of room for the event and several non-associated parties. The service was friendly and quick. We were checked on by a couple of different people in the few hours we were there.
