Food was pretty mid, everything is expensive there. Cheapest dish is about $14 upwards to $29. I don t mind playing more for food when it tastes good. A brunch place that taxes. If you like that modern decor without any taste for design, the you ll love the atmosphere. I ve been here twice & never loved the food. Waiters were nice this second time around but the first time I went I experienced bad service as well. Not trying to hate just trying to be real.

I had a seasonal cocktail which was tasty Service was ok nothing outstanding. Rarely saw the waiter. And he left in the middle of our order to deal with a problem at another table. Two of our party ordered the seasonal steak sandwich which was good and cooked to order. I had the lamb and unfortunately it was way over cooked and really needed more seasoning. The owner came by and i showed him a sample of what I had been served and he offered a discount. But when I paid my tab it wasnt obvious. I really had been looking forward to this meal. And everything else was good, just my meal wasnt prepared very well. Almost forgot one of our party ordered the fresh orange juice and received a glass of essentially pulp making it more a smoothie then fresh juice.

It is a little hard to find due to a lack of signage. Service was friendly, exceptional, and quick. Food and drinks were delicious. Great selection and variety on the menu. Somewhat loud acoustics in the restaurant, so it made it a bit difficult to have a group conversation without speaking a bit louder.

Went in with some friends for a drink and a bite to eat straight away of the walk in the manager of the establishment was giving us weird looks did not greet us but greeted the people in front of us very pleasantly (maybe because of our race) anyways we blew it off and sat down anyway I orders the chicken and waffles and ordered a orange juice the whole time the manager was watching our table closely the food arrived after a 40 min wait the place was empty besides 2 other tables received the food chicken was cold waffles were stale I didn t send it back I just left it at the table we paid and while we were paying at the table the manager was standing in front of the door for some odd reason as if we were gonna run out because were black I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone I m typically a very nice person and refrain from any harsh comments but the manager looked to be a racist prick and I will not stand for any racism he s lucky my husband wasn t there as he would ve spoken out when he was blocking the door

Was trying to make a delivery order for over $100, but was unable to modify items for allergies. The delivery portals lack the ability to enter any allergies, and the modification selections are inconsistent across the digital menu. When attempting to type in the allergy information, was directed to call restaurant. Called the restaurant only to be greeted by a robotic voice and a VERY long greeting with a pot of information we did not need (hours, location, etc.). Not only is all of this info available on the Google listing where we found the phone number, but it s designed to save the restaurant time and effort, while making the guest listen to all of it before getting to a point where they can actually speak to someone. Once the menu was completed, there was a second robotic voice stating that the voice mail had not been set up. Why in the middle of brunch service is voicemail on? Restaurants are a service industry business and require actual people to answer the phones. The new forms of robotic greetings detract from the service aspect and are frustrating to deal with. For $20-$35 a plate for DELIVERY breakfast, the EGGSPECTATION is that the service will align with the pricing. Please read the recent Door Dash reviews that all say the same. The lack of consistency in menu mods, the robotic greeting, the fact that the calls DURING PEAK business hours are being sent to VM, and that the voicemail isn t even monitored or set up properly are all indicators of a poorly managed business.

Visited during a very busy hour and was seated rather quickly at the bar in the rear. Food was absolutely delicious, no debate there. However, my glass cup had what looked like to be the remnants of a Bloody Mary. Certainly tasted like it. I told my waitress (the barkeep) and she promptly just rinsed the cup after taking a look at it. Did not exchange it out for a clean one, much less give the cup a thorough cleansing. There was still Bloody Mary floaties in it too. Holy hepatitis! Eventually she gave me a clean cup and the service, besides that, was pretty good and worth the tip still. Would I go again? Yep but definitely not during a rush.

Aug 5. Ordered the prime rib sandwich and it had to be the worst sandwich I ve ever had. The meat was overcooked, hard and cold, even the bread was hard and not toasted at all. I asked for a salad for the side and the food came out with cold fries and a salad that they charged me $11 for. They did comp the salad considering that s what I asked for (not fries) The wait time was over 45min with no one in the restaurant! I should ve complained to a manager but I didn t want to be that person. Very disappointed and won t be back, definitely a waste of $68

Fantastic brunch/lunch spot. For upscale brunch vibes with duck, lamb, and steak, this is the go to spot. The Duck Confit Poutine was great as our sharable. Delicious gravy and perfectly cooked duck. For our entrees we had the Salmon Benny which was actually on a croissant and was delicious, as well as the Nashville Hot Benny. The Nashville Hot chicken in the benny was seasoned so well. It was very flavorful of classic Nashville Hot chicken flavors without being spicy; which my wife very much appreciated. We were checked on, who I believe was the owner or head chef, and they were very friendly and welcoming. Overall our service and staff were great and everything was delicious. Definitely more things to try like the summer dish: San Antonio Benny, which contains a 12oz ribeye steak on an English muffin topped with grilled asparagus, poached egg, and steak hollandaise sauce. Cant wait to go back again and try more dishes. Snooze has nothing on this place. Completely different side of the brunch spectrum. 10/10 would eat again.

Eggspectation offers a decent brunch experience overall. The atmosphere is particularly inviting, making it a great spot for a leisurely Sunday brunch. While the meal was enjoyable, there were a few minor drawbacks. The goose bread was a bit dry, and I felt that drizzling the syrup on top as a glaze could have improved its texture and flavor. The croissant, unfortunately, was also dry and lacked the fluffy quality I typically look for in a good croissant. However, the standout of the meal was definitely the potatoes. They were impeccably cooked and seasoned, easily the best part of the dish.

Used to love this place but the quality is horrible. Ordered the shrimp and crab Benedict this morning. For $32, I would hope to be able to see a shrimp or piece of crab. The meal was a grayish green bowl of porridge. The two eggs were buried and hard-boiled in the soupy grits. What looked like four gray shrimp had actually been cut in half to look like four shrimp, so only two small shrimp. No discernible crab in the soup that I could find. I ate the eggs and few shrimp. Absolutely disgusting. I will not eat here again. On a good note, my friends meal looked good, huevos rancheros. Also the coffee was good.

The WORST experience I have ever had here! Server forgot to enter our order, we waited over 25mins just for cappuccino and bread. Grand Mariner French toast was supposed to have bananas and strawberries, I got HARD banana like plantains, soggy French toast, tasted like raw egg . Cheesy grits with no cheese, no flavor, and all plates were cold! Multiple managers were aware of the screw ups and offered 20% off. Still tipped the Server cause he was overwhelmed and the kitchen mess ups were not his fault. I bragged on how great this place was just to be embarrassed and let down. Wont be back.

On Fathers Day, everyone was out for breakfast/ brunch. We waited a hour on the waitlist I think for 6 adults & one high chair. Of course our food was delayed, dont even remember how long we waited. We were enjoying each other company & talking. Our server was good. Everyone was super busy because of the big crowd, but I think they handle it pretty good. Food was good but my steak was medium rare it seems. I asked for medium well, I just boxed it up to take home & microwave. I ordered the green light drink. It tasted a little watered down & more foam than juice in the glass. I wont be ordering no more juices again.

Overpriced and eggsaggerated. French toast are subpar and the pancakes are good mix but not enough for almost $20 plates. The fries are vertically cut like ovals. The eggs taste decent. The music was good, a little loud though. The outside patio was ok but there was debris/trash someone had left right next to trees. Workers had parked in the front parking taking prime parking for customers. The place was empty on a Friday afternoon. The first server got the order wrong or the kitchen read the order wrong we got one plate w pancakes and the other w French toast. A second server, the person who sat us brought out the plates from the kitchen, she brought out two of the same plates French toast. The second server didn t offer to provide us w the incorrect plate, she took the whole plate back and left one of us without food. Then, the original server brought back the plate that was taken away without the French toast. We had to wait extra time for the pancake to come out of the kitchen. All of this happened while we were the only customers in the restaurant. Parking: Covered parking and back parking lot. Wheelchair accessibility: The front of the restaurant has wheelchair accessiblility parking and curb slope easiness. Someone will have to hold the door open tho.

I get it, it s a bit of a fusion of modern facility with breakfast and lunch options that is pumping Canadian goodness. It s LOUD in here, you can hear the coffee expresso machine everywhere; add the other guests talking and you feel like you re yelling at people to talk over the noise. Options here are unique, and so warrants a return, but I m not pressed to want too, as there was nothing that was a hooking me to like this place past its unique looking setup. ***so they follow up and say I should go outside to enjoy a quieter experience . Right , the fantastic Texas weather makes it better at brunch times . No. Just accept you skimped on the sound proofing because you either didn t care or think about it. That s okay too, I m just one guy with an opinion, and I say your average food / service, and loud interior will make me less likely to come.

I was sitting at the bar enjoying my meal (which the food was very good )but I heard a very concerning conversation between the male bartender and the female manager saying that they over charge customers by 2 to 4 drinks to make their tip average go up higher and balance missing inventory. If I was ever overcharged I would be furious. I feel like this is stealing from the customers just so the employee can have a larger tip. They should ask guest if they want an itemized receipt before just closing the tab out without their consent. With this conversation I would say that each CUSTOMER SHOULD START ASKING FOR ITEMIZED RECEIPT!!!!!!!

I have celiacs so I make absolutely sure that I mention my allergy to my servers. I had questions about some items and asked my server who wasnt sure so they went and got the manager to help me - a larger woman with colored hair by the name of Kate or Cassandra. The minute she arrived at my table my entire experience changed from relaxed and brunchy to being essentially condescended to for having a food allergy as she rushed through my questions like she had somewhere better to be. I ended up ordering just simple eggs and potatoes - NO TOAST - and asked that she please make sure the kitchen knows its an allergy. I got a very rude response back, something like Ill see if I have time to babysit your plate but Im busy. Eat at home next time. I got my food after not too long of a wait but it was my original server who brought it to me. I inspected the plate and tried to point out some crumbs to her but she said it was just seasoning/pepper and I did not want to deal with the manager again nor get my server yelled at for needing to bother her so I just ate and left. I am currently suffering a major allergic reaction because those were indeed crumbs, and having looked up a couple options the manager suggested I would have been dealing with a much worse reaction had I listened to her. It is beyond me how a restaurant can employ such incompetent people who feel the need to be rude and dismissive of paying customers, let alone emotionally and verbally abuse staff under them for doing their jobs right. My allergy is my own problem, I get that, but I have never had such a poor dining experience in all my years. I made sure to tip my server since I dont think she was at fault at all, but I did notice that manager passing by my table as I was leaving so I really hope she didnt skim any.

Food was good, but they didnt have a basic Eggs Benedict. Even the server said its often requested and I was told I had to build it a la carte, which made it cost over $30, for that 1 plate. I think mime came out over double their avacado toast benny plate. So I was brought out like 4 plates to construct my own plate out of over dried out english muffin. It is what it is. You would think this place would have the most simple Egg Benedict.

Great cocktails and best Chicken Schnitzel was crispy & tasty. Its on their Seasonal menu but I hope they add it to their Regular menu. Pitchers of mimosas and unique Bloody Marys. The menu has something for everyone and at every price range. Im sure Breakfast is a big hit here, but go for dinner.

This is one of the best places to eat in San Antonio. The breakfast tacos were packed full of egg, cheese, bacon, chorizos, salsa, avacado, and sour cream. The lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes were a little slice of heaven. If you are a french toast lover, you will enjoy the extravaganza breakfast. The potatoes were scrumptious, and everything was tasty and hot. The service is fast, and the atmosphere is a vibe! Try it, youll like it!

We had heard great things about Eggspectation so we went for the very first time today. The service was absolutely horrible. The guy who took us to our seat acted as if we were a bother. Then the waitress came and took our drink order, my husband ordered the oyster sliders and she walked away without taking my food order. Came back about 10 minutes later asking if we were doing ok, my husband informed her that she didnt take my order to which she replied oh I assumed you wanted those as an appetizer and then says Im sorry would you like to order something else.. NO... You messed up why would I feel like ordering when you assumed in the first place.. it was very slow, only 3 parties in the restaurant. Music was so loud and they cared more about their phones and having a cigarette than the customers. Its against health code to have tobacco products and purses settings on the bar where customers food and or drinks are prepared. This was definitely not worth the drive or time. Absolutely horrible experience. Will not be going back .

Im sorry in advance, but this place is so overrated. Maybe Im ordering the wrong thing, but Ive never had anything here that was delicious. Or even great. Most the time Im disappointed and dont even eat more than a couple bites. I wish the service was better. Ive been there 3 times and never left feeling satisfied or like I enjoyed my meal. Other than the indoor/outdoor atmosphere, theres nothing I can say I really like about coming here.

Had a really good experience. We were a party of 12, 6 adults and 6 kids and the waitress did an amazing job. The food was really good. I had the eggs Benedict with duck confit over a croissant with hollandaise and a mushroom gravy , it was a first for me and they were amazing. The breakfast potato s were really good also. Arrive early because the place gets packed fast.

Had an incredible experience at Eggspectation in Stone Oak during their WineDownWednesday event! The ambiance was perfectly set with dim lights and captivating music that added to the evening s enjoyment. We indulged in the meat lovers pizza and pepperoni, accompanied by a refreshing bottle of Prosecco, and it was absolutely delightful. A special shoutout to Keanu, our server, and Cassie, the bar manager, who went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable. Their attentiveness, kindness, and engaging conversation truly made our night. I ve noticed some less favorable reviews, likely stemming from the initial rush following a popular Instagram post about WineDownWednesday. It seems they were unexpectedly overwhelmed at first, but I encourage those who had a less-than-ideal experience to give them another chance. We re already planning our return for brunch! Their new WineDownWednesday idea is catching on, and from our experience, it s not to be missed. Looking forward to our next visit!

Just dined here for the first time. We had the duck confit poutine and the 2 pizzas/wine for 30. I was very excited to see poutine on the menu because my partner lives in Canada and it s my absolute favorite. It was pretty tasty but the only complaint I had is that it definitely had shredded cheddar cheese instead of curds. I took a look at your photos on your google page and confirmed that the poutine had the curds normally. The pizza . I was not expecting too much given the good deal but I would have never expected it to come out on cardboard crust that you can buy at the grocery store. It was disappointing. To top it off the server was very rushed with us and even brought to go containers before we were done. There wasn t even room on the table to set them down. I had to set them on the floor. It was awkward when it came to paying the bill. The server held the machine while waiting on me to finish out the tip. I did not see an option to change the tip, only percentages. The percentages were based on the pre discount amount. I ended up tipping the lowest option of 19 dollars for poor services and cardboard pizza . I have heard good things about this place and my partner has even dined at the original in Montreal. I was really taken aback with the quality. Updated review with picture of cardboard crust mentioned

I want to start by saying that although my main complaint was about the service, I don t think it was the waiters and bartenders fault for the bad service, rather the management as I m about to explain. I came with my date for a Wednesday night special they are calling Wine down Wednesday and it s a great special for two personal pizzas and a bottle of wine for 30 bucks. Great deal right? Well upon arrival I could tell the staff was heavily understaffed, the restaurant wasn t even close to capacity but rather 1/4 of the seating space was full. So you know a slow night in comparison to their busy Brunch hours. A waiter walked us to our table and we sat and waited for 10 - 15 minutes and as we were about to leave for not even being able to get a drink to wait on, another waiter arrives as Im sure he noticed no one had serviced us yet, he took our order and brought us our 5th choice of wine since the first 4 they were already out of, he brings it back and so we wait for about 25 - 35 minutes for our food. Had it been a busy night for the restaurant I would completely understand for the long wait for two pizzas but again the restaurant was only at best a quarter of the maximum capacity. So I can only imagine how understaffed the kitchen was as well. As our food finally arrived, we got our pizzas perfectly hot which explained they were just backed up by what I can only assume the rest of the people were also there for the great special they had. All in all I enjoyed my food but the wait has me and my date getting in the mood of what we call hangry haha. Honestly I felt bad for the waiters I could see them running back and forth trying their best but only saw 2-3 people running around and servicing the tables in the restaurant. This just tells me the management was not really prepared to have more waiters and cooks for the dinner service, which is a shame as we enjoyed the food but not sure I d like to wait that long again to eat a pizza and have some wine, again great deal but it s nothing special.

food was good, but not Eggceptional. we got the breakfast poutine which was honestly pretty good, asked for egg over-medium and it was cooked perfectly. we also got the prime rib benedict which was underwhelming to say the least. it was Not prime rib, it was sliced deli roast beef that had near to no flavor, so i wouldnt recommend it. horseradish sauce was good, however. over all decent place, probly not quite worth the price.

Great location, with an ahhhmazing staff crew: attentive, professional, and caring. We sat outside and it was great! We also had an amazing waiter. Ordered their sinfully delicious gooey bread to die for! It was sooooo good, I wish I had taken a picture of it. They have a great selection of dishes, and honestly what we ordered was simply delicious. almost at the end we asked for fresh orange juice, which we were told it was squeezed in house, the problem is that it wasn t P.S. real, natural OJ is never ever saturated in pulp. That s just an American way of selling wrong advertising of what is when it isn t. I d have been ok if I was told: we sell $6 glass of lots of pulp, sour juice from a cheap brand. It reminded me of the lots of pulp concentrated juices from the store. Again, the only one thing I was disappointed about, my lukewarm, sour, lots of pulp from concentrate OJ I almost forgot, RIP for the $4.00 ham I paid for, which I only saw in my omelette: TWO sweet pea size ham cubes in my entire omelette, TWO pea size cubes for $4.00?

Just know they re always busy, food will be great, but can they not staff better? Sitting at bar for brunch/lunch, you know you re going to be slammed, you know it s going to be busy on the wknd so why aren t there more people scheduled or helping? Sat for 10 min completely ignored, at least 5 people behind the bar, sat another 10 min before getting a drink. Sat another 10 min before getting to order and that s because we had to flag them down. Quit stressing your people out that can t be cordial because they re running their tail off. I get pastries put in front of me with no silverware or napkins . These folks are hustling and it s still bad service and not their fault ..

Okay, so we ordered a side of pancakes. It was $5.00 for 1 pancake! No butter! It was like eating cardboard. Now my hubby and I are going to Cracker Barrel to wipe that taste of our memory and fulfill our unsatisfied craving. The front entrance has the legal post prohibiting licensed concealed carry. Went in hungry, left amazed and stuffed! I ordered the smoked salmon bennie and wondered were this food had been all my life! Absolutely plenty of salmon delishiously placed ona large, buttery, perfectly toasted croissant. The lemon cream cheese was the perfect touch, and did not overpower the cray hollandaise sauce. Perfectly poached eggs that I broke open to coat my plate in egg yolk goodness. I will admit it, I threatened to stab my husband of he attempted to taste my potatoes. Those crispy carbs with awesome cooked onions...chef kiss. The coffee...sweet mercy, that coffee was a balm to my sleepy soul. Fresh, and the taste was fantastic. Despite my husband and I rolling up right when they opened, our service was STUPENDOUS. The waiter was pleasant, polite, and perfect. He made sure the coffee kept coming and made sure we were well taken care of and happy. Overall, LOVED THE EXPERIENCE. Complete delight, start to finish.
