Came in for a beer and a quick bite after playing tennis. On Mondays the Club is closed so tried to use this as another option while in the golf cart. Sadly, the new owners didn t have the kitchen ready to serve food. Only drinks. Place is looking really run down, more than normal. Used to come here quite regularly and bring a bunch of folks. Not sure of that option anymore. Sad.

I hope the owner sees this post. I will explain more! Love craft beer and although there is not a lot, a taps is still a great place for a small bar. Update.. the new waitresses may have extremely bad integrity issues. I saw this person pour 12 Oz beer and called it a double, but in all the years I have been coming here, they have never sold beer as a double. I hope this doesnt mess with the owners business. I really love it here!

John Taffer please come help these guys! My wife and I visited and were happy with the good selection of beer, but that s when it turned bad. We got strange looks from the few regulars there and then we waited and waited while the bartender did shots with her friends at the bar, and when she came along, we learned that the taps with blue plugs in them were out of beer. Unfortunately, this was half the selection and not such a selection after all. Still braving it, we ordered a beer each and tried to find a seat. We decided maybe we d sit outside away from the regulars. Outside was a hodge podge of partially clean tables, questionable metal chairs and stacked folding chairs. We quickly drank our beer and left, laughing how this would be a perfect site for Bar Rescue.

May 2024 update: came by again with friends during happy hour, its not, certainly not what they have on their website. Nor is the food menu, more like overcooked food truck fare. Nice little neighborhood bar. Although I didnt eat here, The pizza looks great!

Love this bar, go here often and enjoy my time. New female bartender was hired, and it really messes up the whole experience. She doesnt care about anyone except the owner and people she knows. When she works, the bar no longer feels welcoming. She also pours less than full shots, but charges you for the full. Waste of money and time. This is no longer my go-to bar. It really slipped.

Went based on the reviews, and wasnt disappointed! The atmosphere was relaxed, clean and friendly. Beers were great and had a wide variety to select from even the shots were great and not over or under poured perfect combo. Food was okay and it may have been partly my fault as they were closing up the kitchen when I ordered. But overall a really great place to meet up with some friends and have a few drinks

My Husband and I popped in here one Sunday afternoon after a day of running errands, he needed a beer and I needed a snack! We had always seen Claude Hoppers in passing and were in the area so decided wed give it a try. The inside is very much a sports bar (great place to catch a football game on a Sunday), while the outside gives more of a beer garden feel - lots of seating and great outdoor space. The bartender who waited on us was really kind and welcomed us in as it being out first time. My Husband ordered a Pinthouse Electric Jellyfish and I ordered the pretzel, which came with a beer cheese on the side. The pretzel was a decent size for both of us to share and was soo good! I really like how much variety they have on their menu - there is something for everyone. As for my Husbands beer, it was great and to make it even better, a 16oz for $5! Holy smokes! Great food, great prices and a cool atmosphere Id say its definitely worth a try!

Mine and my husbands first time here. They had karaoke going on. Indoors is small, but they do have a patio. It was 3 dollars you call it night, so it was made for a rather inexpensive night. We hung with friends and enjoyed ourselves

This is the place to go when you want a classic dive bar feel with some of the modern twists (like TVs everywhere). Not to mention, a craft beer enthusiasts dream with nearly 50 taps, it will rival your favorite pour house. First time here and for a Niners game. A little crowded since they are a Niners Bar and slightly understaffed given there is a Niners game, but the staff is nice and doing their best to keep up. Will come back for another game!!! They also have a pretty big selection of draft beers!

It was a Daddy-Daughter night @claudehoppers.sa A night of great fellowship and good food and drinks. Finally, sunny weather to enjoy the outdoors. Donna and I shared the margarita flight while Donnas Dad tried the thirsty goat. The passion fruit was balanced but the mixed berry was uber sweet. Dad and I shared the fish and chips, which was decent. I think Ive been spoiled with Roseys big fish. Donnas Dad also had the fish and chips and Donna had the pizza - half triple meat and half prosciutto and arugula. I had a slice of the triple meat and the sausage was on the salty side. Well have to do this again

I really like the selection and the servers are friendly. Happy hour is chill and laid back, but it is quite a bit on the small side indoors if you are looking to drink in the AC and after sunset it turns into a quasi night club atmosphere. Big nice patio is a bonus.

I went last week and had a pretzel and a beer and couldnt wait to come back. Went today and they were clearly understaffed with only one person there and 20 customers. Was told right away that our appetizers would not be started for 10 minutes. No problem. After 10 or 15 minutes a group of 5 came in and she came back and said it would take longer because she had to take came of them first. I said no problem. She quickly served them and then visited with one of them for about 10 minutes. Several minutes later she reveals that she still hasnt started our order. At this point we have been there 45 minutes and our food has not been started yet.. I think it is important to note that I usually write one bad review per year and one good one, so I dont think I am easily offended. I understand that this poor woman was seriously overextended, but I just need to know that I am way way down on her list of priorities and I will be happy to move on. The sooner I know the better.

Fantastic beer selection at what feels like the coolest neighborhood bar. Claude Hoppers is like the neighborhood bar than has a larger following. The bartenders are friendly, the regulars are cool, and the beer is all in good taste. The food is okay, but if you do order, try the Himalayan dumpling. Coming by here to drink is alwaoa good choice.

I never write reviews, but... My bf and I uses to go there all the time and loved it because it was close to my house and the bartender, a young guy, was always nice. He remembered us by name and always offered great service. However, one time, the bartender was a girl who looked annoyed the entire time she was working, on her phone, or eating (there were at most, 5 people in the bar). Before we left, my bf wanted to refill one of those big bottles he had in the car to take some craft beer home. Then the girl got super excited and started pushing one beer in particular and we were like sure, we ll take it (the price on the board looked normal). She ended up charging us 70 DOLLARS!! Just for that! So we ended up paying like 100 with the 4 other drinks we had already had. We are decent people who weren t going to leave without paying, but we were extremely mad. She never mentioned how much it would be and after we complained she kept saying the beer had already been poured, to either take it or leave it (with our bottle we had already bought elsewhere). We thought we were being nice to accept the beer she was suggesting, but obviously after that, Claude Hoppers lost our business. Don t screw your customers.

A must stop in San Antonio. If you enjoy craft beer, a calm atmosphere, and a genuine experince, then Claude Hoppers is your place. Plus the bartender/owner Max is a true gentlemen and will provide you with any samples, info, or beer knolwedge you need.
