Barflys is fun. It has a laid-back atmosphere and friendly wait staff. Sometimes free food is available, dont miss Taco Thursday! But, if you miss out on free food, they can also cook up a pizza for you. On Wednesdays, there is TapTV Trivia night. The goal is to beat other local bars on the leaderboard. This place is not fancy. Its a neighborhood bar with lots of regulars and a lot of fun Karaoke Friday and Saturday, btw.

My flight got cancelled and had to stay in SA overnight. I stopped by Bar Flys to kill some time in the evening and was beyond impressed. Lorrie was THE BEST. Awesome atmosphere, they had FREE tacos for anyone in the bar, and everyone was super friendly. I wish I had a bar like this in my home town. Ill absolutely be back next time Im in the SA area.

Ok this is my second visit to this bar and both times for whatever the reason the bartender has chosen to ignore my presence. Im going to say its directly a RACE issue but on both occasions that Ive been here its been for pool League with my pool team and Ive been the only one thats had any issues getting service from the bartender and Im the only person on my 8 person thats not Caucasian or Latino. Now tonight I stood at the ordering station behind 2 gentlemen that already had there drinks that where just conversating with the bartender, I made several obvious

POV: You re looking for a comfortable dive bar, where there are lot of regulars, an older crowd, a jukebox on deck, uniquely flavored moonshine, and it s pet friendly all over! The bartenders are very good about checking in on you without you having to ask. A majority of them have been working at Barfly s for years. They have signs in the women s restroom that show they take the safety of their patrons very seriously. I used to live in the Alamo Heights area and this was the bar I would frequent to meet up with coworkers and friends. We stopped by randomly when I remembered that this bar is very pet friendly and we had our puppy with us. Everybody greeted us when we walked in the door with our little man! It was really sweet. The bartender immediately took our order and we took our seats at the bar. You can tell it s the type of bar where everybody there is a regular and they all know each other. They do have frozen pizzas, should you get hungry and want to order one. I want to say Barfly s is a bar that can be described as, It is what it is, but to an introvert that might be reading this, looking for a bar to lay low without being overwhelmed, this is a pretty chill bar for that and the restrooms are clean. The devil always said if he could rent out texas he d live in California. Really this place embodies that. The people are incredibly mean spirited and rude.
