Stopped in for a bymite to eat. It was a Saturday evening around 7 pm, and we got lucky that there was an open table. Our server was Alice, and she took real good care of us during our dinner. I started off with a water and an ice-cold Shiner Bock beer in an ice-cold mug. We also ordered waters. Our main dish order was chicken fingers with mash potatoes and green beans. The other dish was the pork chop dinner with corn and mashed potatoes. These were ready within 15 minutes and tasted delicious. I added some pictures for your review. All in all, it was a very successful night, the food was great, the server was great, and the environment is neat with some TVs for those sports or news buffs. I hope you decide to visit and your experience is as good as mine. Parking: There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant and also on the side. Both lots have signs posted indicating the lots are for GTC patrons.

Odd arrived at 7pm on a Thursday night, 5 tables seated. We sat for 15minutes and not a single employee approached us for an order. It s apparent the staff was more worried about closing early than serving customers. We left and not a single employee mentioned it.

Wow, what a waste of 38:00. Before I even left I had to hit the toilet running,I didnt know whether to stand or sit. It was coming from both ends. I was only able to eat half of the chili cheese burger. My partner had a big piece of battered crust called chicken fried steak. This staff will generally reflect your mood. If youre grumpy dont be surprised if they seem more focused on service rather than experience. If you smile they will smile back. Ok food... If I orderd anything other than the steak con queso it would surprise anyone with me. I am married to that dish. We met many years ago and have been happy with each other for a long time. I have cheated on this meal with the fried shrimp plate, enchiladas Charlies style (help me) and been thoroughly satisfied with that pork chop plate (two) just to name a few. Fried or grilled are both great. The steak con queso knows about my wondering eyes but its ok with my infidelities because they know ill always come back to them. Oh and one last word... Margaritas UPDATE... I have broken up with the steak con queso. Im sure it wont be for good. But It was me. I tried the enchiladas again. My father used to call them truck stop enchiladas. It was apparently a staple he found in truck stop cafes. I remember when our family was on a trip my father would always stop at truck stop restaurants. He said the truckers always new the best places to eat. He was right of course lol. Well GTC delivers on these enchiladas smothered in their beef chili sauce and cheese. Smothered.. You can barely identify the enchiladas are in there.. It comes, as it should, with Texas toast. Ask for a 2nd slice to make sure you can wipe the plate clean and dont forget the traditional chopped white onions... We also shared a nuts and bolts appetizer... 4-6 semi hungry people could share this. Or 2 healthy (using this word loosly) eaters could share it. Its all fried. There I said it. .. Last word here today was ICE COLD BEER... dont let the wait turn you away Parking: There are other parking lots surrounding the building. The front handicap spaces can be a little challenging Wheelchair accessibility: The main entrance its not wheelchair friendly but there is another door near their streetside patio

I wasnt a fan of the chicken fried steak. Insanely tough and chewy. I ate two bites and nothing more. My friend, who ate the same thing, actually liked his. I dont know if it was the steak, the sides, or the gravy, but we both got sick. No one else got sick, and they ordered different things. I definitely dont plan on returning.

We love this place, always friendly and delicious. Bacon cheese burger was way over cooked last night. Waitress was nice but distant. Spent most of her time leaning against bar looking at cell phone. Our ketchup was empty, no salt or pepper shakers, no sugar/sweetner, on table. Fries were under cooked. Saturday night felt more like Monday morning. Play some music please. Bathroom was gross but always has been. Well return but not for a while.

Even though the restaurant was busy, our waitress was very attentive. Our appetizer of chips and salsa arrived quickly. It was all right. The salsa was not too spicy but I have a very high tolerance. Our meals arrived relatively fast as well. I ordered the bacon cheddar salad. I thought it might have some chicken but was not going to be surprised if it didnt. What surprised me was the amount of bacon in the salad. As you can tell by the picture, it was a lot. I would not get this salad if youre looking for a light option. I will say, the salary was very good. I had no complaints. More than enough bacon. The ranch dressing was also good. The other meals pictured were a kabob plate and a grilled chicken tender plate. I had a little bit of my daughters grilled chicken with my salad. The chicken was moist and flavorful. My wife said the kabobs were very good. I would be happy to return to Good Time Charlies. We had a good time.. On a final note, I observe that a bartender and an older couple who were customers got along very well. It appeared as if the older couple were regulars. You could tell that the bartender cared for this couple. It was very nice to see.

If you enjoy a true chicken fried steak eat at Charlie s. I was pleasantly surprised to find a true chicken fried steak. Most places I ve been to offer chicken fried hamburger patties. Charlie s uses beef cutlets tenderized covered in a delicious batter and topped with some delicious gravy. The mash potatoes do not disappoint either.

Ive been convinced this restaurant is a staple in the area, and while it may be just that, both times the charming atmosphere and comfort food were offset by the waitstaff. Careless and slow, my first time here we watched our waitress hanging out with her coworkers for ten minutes before she brought our drinks (sodas, not even a cocktail or anything fancy) and another hour until our burgers (yes, just burgers) were brought out. Needless to say we had a raging appetite so we dug right into our cold food and waited another 20 minutes for the check. Today, we go in and its very slow, and while we got our drinks in a timely manner, I asked for a couple minutes to decide between two options, and as I made my decision quickly we waited and watched as our waitress seemingly took her lunch break mid service and decided that this will no longer be in our rotation of local businesses to frequent. If youre older perhaps theyll have more respect for you, your time, and your money than they did for my partner and I.

Big Portions, Delicious Taste, Nice and Hot The Plates Were My Love was Stuffed with her Fish and Shrimp Plate, and she said she loved the taste of her Catfish and Crunch no soggy fries My Hybrid Hamburger but tasted like a Hot Dog but because it was Mmmm Delicious and the Chilly was Really Good. Dont be fooled by the good looking pictures of the food. While it looks extremely appetizing, it was some of the most bland food my wife and I have ever tasted. We got the BIG full plate of onion rings, and only ate three. My Chicken fried steak had yellowish gravy and the breading was extremely soggy. My wife could only eat one bite of her burger before she called it quits. This was all on top of being paired with a waitress who was definitely on their first day of the job, which normally wouldnt be a problem (were all new at something) but she was definitely given little to no guidance, leaving both her and us confused and wondering where our straws are. Definitely do not recommend at all.

We had such a wonderful experience at Good Time Charlie s. First time going here on a family outing. When we got here wait time didn t last. We sat down the lady took our order seemed kind of moody. We wanted to try their onion ring ours honestly we had better the cook sent them and waitress them over. (Served with no sauce) The waitresses all stood or sat having a convo. Which was odd and only one looked friendly after seating people. The food was okay my kids loved the fries. you get no fries with any burger etc it s an extra charge. We paid $3.50 for fries to go with burgers and they range from $8-$12. Food could be better and staff could be more friendly (I get having bad days but it was just ridiculous) we spent $100 bucks for 6 of us that was tip included. Do Better Good Time Charlies.

We came here after a field trip on Broadway. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and a chicken sandwich with fries and drinks. The food was decent but I dont see myself going out of my way to eat here again. Im glad I tried it again after so many years but next time I will try another place.

For comfort food this is the place to go. We had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and corn. Everything was fresh and delicious. But I must give huge props on the unbelievably flavorful great beans. I will go back just for a plate of these bacon filled greens. Great service and upbeat positive vibes.

Tried this place on a whim and knew I had to return a few months later when I was in the area. Their chicken fried chicken/beef are both so delicious. It s the small things that this place does well, like the sweet tea and chocolate cake are tasty without being too sweet, the gravy has a great flavor, and the mashed potatoes are consistently good. I look forward to returning for another comforting meal!

Kid got burger and fries and found a hair before he got to even try the food. They replaced the fries only on his plate. The waitress wouldnt stop using bad language. She was unprofessional especially with children around. Not very good food plates are separated when its offered as a plate. Example: burger and fries is a plate. But when you pay its separated to make the order a bigger price to pay I paid 118 for 3 people .

Way overrated first time I went today and was disappointing. Always advertised thats great food and number one chicken fried steak. Had chicken fried steak for super disappointing. Place was crowded and dirty. Frys look like something from a frozen bag did not look fresh. Maybe in its time was good but not anymore.Also felt Super uncomfortable with lady breast feeding her baby and not putting at least a blanket to cover. My kid was there too.

So be careful coming in here with a larger group. Was quoted 20 min and then it turned into 30. That s not the problem. Meanwhile they sat 6-7 tables that walked in with no plan for us. We let them know we could split the table which was agreed upon. However they don t allow split checks. The organization with seating in the place is beyond stupid. IF YOU CANT OR DONT WANT TO SEAT A BIG TOO JUST SAY SO! Don t drag us out. We for sure won t return with any sports team or group.

We went there for my birthday (which is on Valentines Day) . The food was delicious as usual. The waitress was very pleasant, and the atmosphere was very nice.. Kid-friendliness: Some folks brought there children there. Wheelchair accessibility: My husband is in a power chair. And we had plenty of room for it. They also have a ramp so he could get into the main dining area.

My husband and I went to Good Time Charlies last night for supper. The service was good and the food tasted fine. When I got home though I was up all night and through today with food poisoning. It was coming out both ends all night, slight fever and abdominal pain. I ordered the m jack chicken sandwich with fries. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and was fine. I dont know if they just served me a bad piece of chicken, but I told my husband I never want to go back there because of how awful I feel. If anyone goes dont order the chicken breasts.
