The wife my youngest daughter and I came here on a whim. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent and the atmosphere was equally as nice. Our server was friendly and came by enough to make sure we were looked in on but not overly looked upon. I had the crispy snapper the wife had the steak medallions with chimichurri and the daughter had the burger. All of them were cooked fantastically! We will most definitely be back in the future. Cant wait to try more food on the menu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food. Having dogs and finding a place that serves something other than bar food was a huge plus. I had the snapper which came in a lemon sauce and was amazing. My daughter had the Thai salad which if the menu doesnt indicate, it needs to, its very spicy and we like spicy. While I was a little disappointed when the medium rare steak on her salad was just rare, what was disappointing is the waitress didnt not offer to take it back so the tenderloin went uneaten. The other critique I have is they need the little spinning things on the table because the flies were absolutely horrible. Not a few flies a LOT. Other than that the flavor and food was great.

The weather was amazing today that we played hooky for lunch. Nice cool breeze. The outdoor eating area was perfect to enjoy the weather. Free parking. Drinks were great. I had the spicy margarita- good! The drink of the day frozen arnold palmer was good, kinda sweet side. The double chis/salsa was ok; but bland. The fish tacos were so good. The Rubin sandwich was good; extra sauce available. Definitely recommended!!

I ordered the fish tacos and was extremely disappointed. The fish was overcooked and dry, and the tortilla was soggy; therefore, I couldnt lift the taco and had to eat it with a knife and fork. However, the strawberry basil smash mocktail was refreshing and delicious. The restaurant decor is also very welcoming. Parking: Paid parking. However, the restaurant validate parking, making it free.

DO NOT come here if you have a large party! On 8/27/24 I called ahead to inquire about reservations, which they do not offer. I was fine with the no-reservations policy, but I did specifically ask if they d be able to accommodate my party of 14 and was told that wouldn t be a problem. When we arrived, we were told they wouldn t be able to seat our party of 14 together inside. Outside seating was offered, but it was way too hot to sit outside and the mosquitos would ve eaten us alive. It was recommended we split our party into an adults table and children s table, but we were an all adults group so that wasn t ideal. I requested to speak to the manager and was greeted by Jeremy as I was pretty upset that I was told they d be able to accommodate our party and now I was being told we d have to be split up. Jeremy was not much help, but showed me an area where he d like to seat my split party. It was around 7 pm and I was told the wait would be approximately 45 mins. We went ahead and stayed, waited over 45 mins, only to be told by Jeremy that his original plan fell through as the party sitting in the area he showed me wasn t leaving anytime soon. He then showed me 2 tables, split catty corner from each other where my party would have to sit. At this point, it was 8:15 pm, we were hungry and tired, but we stayed. At this point, due to the lack of accommodation, I did request we be comped on our final bill for the unfortunate inconvenience. Jeremy agreed and did apologize. The two parties were split, orders were placed, the other table had food delivered in a timely manner and exceptional service by Matthew. My table (bride and groom) lacked service and received cold food after almost an hour of being waited on by Joey. By the time we received our cold food, the other table was finished with their food. And not once did the manager, Jeremy, come by to see how the service was. This was a my first & definitely my last visit to this restaurant. The purpose of my post isn t to bash this establishment, but merely to provide my experience with a large group accommodation and to hopefully prevent anyone else from going through what we went through. If you have a large group, do yourself the favor and find a restaurant that accepts reservations.

Worst experience EVER!!! Sat us outside even though our reservation stated inside. We were finally greeted by a stoned waitress after 15 minutes. Our appetizer a simple guacamole and chips took an entire hour and was brought out by the manager. (Yes, I timed it!) Waitress asked how was everything? Before we even got our food!!! High as a kite no doubt. House salad came out old, warm and wilted. Bees flying in my cubin sandwich that was cold, dry and barely had any meat. Drinks took forever and were brought out by the bartender herself while waitress was doing God knows what because the restaurant was not busy at ALL and my frozen margarita sat so long it was melted. Asked for kid s lemonade for our 5 year old which was brought in a tall glass, had to remind her twice until she finally brought a kids cup WITH the check. The manager was apologetic but as someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years I know what the standards are and this was straight up ridiculously unacceptable and yall just lost a regular, high paying and tipping customer. And yes I still tipped her $5 even though she deserved zero.

While I appreciate the quality of the food at your restaurant, I must express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit. Unfortunately, the staff seemed inattentive, and I felt neglected after being seated, which significantly impacted my overall experience. Additionally, I find the prices to be quite high, although I do acknowledge that the ambiance and decor of the building are charming. I hope that these concerns can be addressed, as I would like to continue enjoying your restaurant in the future. Having visited the restaurant on a couple of occasions, I regret to say that both experiences have been disappointing.

Lively atmosphere, attentive staff. Parm fries...great fries but too much parmesean on top. Would recommend the cheese is tossed with the fries. It was distracting. Steak salad pr a tentation looked cool but it wasnt practical. Putting it in a tough cabbage leaf caused my fork to catch it at every bite so I just had to pour it out. Steak was cooked to perfection!

Beware of parking near restaurant because if you don t have the metropolis account you will get insane bill in the mail. There is no clear signage, the signs there state it s for Customer parking. Ticket cost more than the meal. Dinner and restaurant were amazing! Food was delicious and service was good. Just find somewhere with clear signs and further away to park in the Pearl instead of that parking owned by sketchy company.

I really wanted to be blown away by this place given the reviews and the ambiance. The service was fantastic. I liked that the parking lot next door allowed you to have three hours validated by the restaurant. I liked the thought of the artistic menu. However, the drinks and food were disappointing and mediocre. The cocktail was okay. I asked to have extra mint well muddled in my mojito. I received the extra mint, but none of it was muddled at all. I ordered the Thai salad. The steak was good, but the greens were not fresh. There were no almonds. I had to ask for the almonds and the amount of mango was extremely miniscule. My date ordered the kale salad which was supposed to come with chicken. Also, very little chicken in his salad and it was finely diced so incredibly small. If it were me I would have complained. I definitely do not feel that we got our moneys worth. The ambiance both indoors and outdoors was lovely. Our server was excellent. Just wish the food was much better. I drove an hour south to meet my date. I think well choose a different place next time.

We had a wonderful meal here while visiting SA. I started with a lavender lemonade which was top notch. I love lavender anything but you have to be careful if you don t use the right ratio as it can be overpowering. However, this was just right. My husband and I shared the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer which were okay. They were pretty crisp/ burnt on the outside and flavorless. We both got the Cuban sandwhich which is probably THE BEST Cuban I have ever had. The bread really gives it that extra pop. Lastly, our server was almost the best part of our experience. Unfortunately, I did not get his name but he was a pleasant young man with green braces. He was so wonderful and checked on us frequently enough without being overbearing. He genuinely seemed to love his job and his good attitude and cheerfulness was infectious. I really hope someone shows him this and that he keeps up the great work.

I love that they accommodate and are very welcoming to fur babies. We were able to bring our dogs and enjoy a wonderful meal on their pet friendly patio. Although it was hot outside, the amount of fans they have around definitely help with staying cool. It s located near the Pearl, and such a quiet little neighborhood to enjoy a nice walk. Our waitress was helpful and brought out a pitcher of water for not only us, but for our fur babies as well. We went during happy hour and for the nachos which was a bit underwhelming. Not what we expected even though it s labeled a small plate this was indeed small. Tiny to say the least, and I really don t think we will be getting this again. If I can remember correctly, it was less than $10 for this plate, but once again, a little underwhelming for nachos. My husband got the Cheeseburger and a side of fries, which he enjoyed. I got the Fish Tacos, and we shared a side of Mac & Cheese. All were wonderful! Loved the Mac & Cheese! I think my only complaint is that by the time I got my tacos, the tortillas were quite soggy to pick up and it was a bit messy to eat, so I ended up having to use and fork. Nonetheless, still a great place and we will be back!

FANTASTIC dinner tonight at Down on Grayson. We walked in at 9 pm with no issues getting a table. Our server Joey was super friendly and we had great service! We started with the Brussels and they were really good. Everything we ordered was top notch- the Thai steak salad made with filet and a spicy Asian dressing was super fresh and delicious. My husband s burger and fries was perfectly done and really good. We also had the chicken and asparagus which took the top prize. HUGE portion, super juicy and the Mac and cheese was amazing enough to order one to go. Highly recommend going- ask for Joey too- he was great! Will definitely be going back! Nice ambience going, came here on a weekday night. Parking is validated up to 3 hours in the lot right next to it, lovely surprise. Those Parmesan cheese fries are on point! I had the white fish tacos that were really juicy, I loved the taste. I didnt like the tortillas though, they were corn, Im not sure if I couldve switched for flour but I didnt ask. Eventually the juices got to the tortillas and it started breaking apart so I started eating it with a knife and fork lol still good though! My friend had the Cobb salad and he didnt care for it, he said flavors were clashing though it looked good. Parking: Parking is validated for 3 hours only in the lot right next to the restaurant. It could potentially be more packed on the weekends as it is in a high traffic area for hanging out.

Came at 6:30 for dinner on a Friday night. Parmesan fries were ok but the parm needs to be added when the fries are warm so that the cheese melts- otherwise the parm just falls off the fries. The snapper was delicious however the asparagus had the same issue with the parm cheese. Service was not good as I think our waiter forgot about me and my daughter. I had to go to the bar directly to order a drink. Overall food could use some work but it was tasty and the service leaves a lot to be desired. The atmosphere is the best thing in my opinion.

I recently dined at Down on Grayson and was quite disappointed with my experience. I ordered the kale and chicken salad, which was a letdown. The salad consisted mostly of kale with only five small pieces of chicken, and it cost $17! It felt like I was just eating a bowl of kale. Additionally, the chopped con was tasteless and essentially just a burger without bread. For the price, I expected much better quality and flavor. Unfortunately, I cant recommend this restaurant based on my recent visit.

First time Visiting the Grayson, love the outside dining area. One table had several birds eating the leftovers but kind of neat. We all have to eat. Pathway of rox\cks is so beautiful, all the umbrellas. It was hot outside otherwise we would have ate on the patio. 103 in San Antonio. Walked in the door to cool air and these beautiful chandeliers and bar. Took a little time to get seated, almost changed to eating outside but they finally found us a table in the back. Lemonade very pricey with an additional $1 for added flavor. Dont recommend the added flavor, not worth the extra cost. Menu Is also pricey but we were near the Pearl, maybe thats why the higher cost. Food was excellent no complaints. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and Mac and cheese and a grilled cheese for my grandson. Meatballs so delicious and fell apart. Mac and cheese...WOW! So creamy and delicious. We all had a bite but my grandson ate it up. He had string cheese hanging from his mouth. He loved it so much. The grilled cheese also went fast. He is almost 10 and has a huge appetite. The Grayson did not give small portions for the Mac and cheese, we were pleasantly surprised.. My daughter and I split a Cuban sandwich with asparagus spheres. Delicious!! The sandwich came with a side of shoestring fries, they were just OK. The portion size was small. Sandwich was excellent and the asparagus was so zesty. Highly recommend. Order for 2 was pricy; that is my only complaint really and the creepy manager with the earbud. No Veterans discount either. Our servers was so nice, she kept coming back to check on us. Thanks Mia! Someone was standing watching everything in plain clothes and had a ear piece in, if he was a manager he should have come to the tables to see if our service was good or not. Smile a little bit too...too serious seriously. Restrooms so clean, love the paper towels. Pictures of dogs hanging on the walls were a nice touch. Someone took a lot of time to get all the details of every painting. Especially loved the Collie. Did not get any pics of the restroom but super clean. Pricing may stop us from coming back, paid over $60 for 2 meals. Thanks Mia for great service and to the guy watching with arms crossed...lighten up. Stand and watch where your not noticed by the customers. Oh one more thing...dont fall for the Rainwater! Bottled water? Too expensive for a glass bottle with a rainwater label. I purchased for my daughter but the glass jugs of free water is better. Waitress will validate your parking if you park in the Grayson lot, we did not see the signs so paid to park on the street. Parking: We paid to park in the street then found out later they will validate your parking inside. 3 hours will be validated, did not see any signs outside, found out from waitress.

We needed to just come and have at least more than half present to be seated. I said ok. This was a party to celebrate a graduation. On the day of, we showed up at 4:45pm. It was not busy at all. The hostesses were very rude and annoyed that we had a large party. We had 6 people present of 13. They refused to seat us until more showed up (the whole party was there within 5 minutes). I was then told that they would put us at 2 separate tables (not together). I asked them why they couldnt just put the tables together and this is when they told me it was against their policy to have more than 10 at a table together. The manager Jeremy was confrontational and talked over us. We would have left but it was our kids graduation and they wanted to eat there. They never once mentioned to us, in the multiple times that I said it was a party of 13, that we could not sit together. The 2 separate servers at each table were nice but it was unfortunate that we could not eat together as a family to celebrate. Especially since it was not busy and there were at least 6 open tables at this time.

So this is the first time I ve ever had a bad experience at Down on Grayson. They are usually really good at their service but today I was disappointed. I arrived at DOG at 205pm and at 220pm. Why? Because for 15 minutes not 1 server came up to me and ask for my order. There was a couple before me and a lady after that received service IMMEDIATELY and I did not. I made eye contact with every server that was in the floor and nothing. The Manager was standing right behind me and we made eye contact and said nothing. I usually like to give servers at least 5 minutes to get to me because I know how busy it can get. But no, the dining room was not full. There were 8 tables filled and it was not a crazy time to where no one couldn t get to me. I got up and I told the hostess that I was leaving because nobody came to me. I probably won t be back because I ve never had this happen at this restaurant. They are always good and getting to their tables and taking care of their customers. But again, it was not busy and other people were served before I was.

This was our first time to ear at DOG. We joined the waitlist with 9 in front of us and just before we arrived we got a call that our table was ready. They proceeded to seat us outside - we said too hot and wanted inside. We were told we would have to wait at least ANOTHER 45 because we did not specify inside (certainly did not know we had to). They were not accommodating at all!!! Tried to order an old fashioned and told no they do not make them - even though they have a full bar. Then when seated outside we tried to substitute a house salad for fries and told no way- even when we offered to pay a little more. Asked to substitute the vinegar based coleslaw for another coleslaw and again told NO. Very disappointed in the flexibility. Then when time for the check to be paid - the waitress became VERY accommodating! Will not be back!

I will start off by saying the food was delicious. We ordered chips/guac to start and two Thai salads. I requested no mangos on mine because I have an allergy. We waited a while and our server asked if the manager had talked to us but nobody had come to speak to us. He said on one salad the steak was overcooked so they started both salads over again and our order would be ready shortly. I didnt mind as we had arrived early and we spent the time talking over our appetizer. When our food arrived there were mangos on the side which I gave my friend for her salad and after I started to eat my salad I noticed there were mangos in it. I wasnt about to send it back to make a 3rd salad at this point so I basically just ate the steak and steered clear of eating any more mango. Its not like my throat is going to close up but I usually break out in hives on my face after eating them which I did by next morning. I was a very disappointed because a food establishment should take allergic reactions very seriously. Also our first impression wasnt great as one of the hostesses had a major attitude problem and refused to make eye contact or give a simple welcome. I asked for a table for 2 and a different hostess was able to get us seated. My friend who I was with had called prior to us going to see if she could surprise me with a slice of cake and candle since it was my birthday but she was told we dont do birthdays. Its fine because I dont want anyone to sing to me or anything but it was a little rude the way she was spoken to. It was my 3rd time dining here and Ive never had complaints to make before. Its a lovely atmosphere with delicious food. I will end on a better note by saying our server was very sweet and gave us good service and gave us a code to validate our parking. Other than that I hate leaving bad reviews but the service and management needs some work.

1 star due to PARKING NOT being validated. The food was good and flavorful and the portions were also nice. The server was amazing and she took care of us excellently. Their was a bit of an issue with flies but its probably because of the patio being so close to the dining room. All was great until I received a Parking Ticket from Metropolis. They are the company that manages the parking lot right outside Grayson. Yes, the same parking lot that says Down on Grayson Parking and Free for 3 hours. IT WONT BE FREE. You will receive a $39 parking ticket. So add that to your total for lunch. The picture shows where I parked and the signs for Grayson Parking. Parking: NOT FREE AND VERY MISLEADING

I came here on a recommendation of some friends, and Im certainly glad I ate here. We arrived around 9 pm, so it wasnt as busy as it usually is. I ordered the onion rings as an appetizer, and they were small and crispy, very tasty. For my main course I ordered the sirloin, Mac n cheese and the garden salad. I dont normally order steak out, but this was one of the most delicious, quality sirloins Ive had at a restaurant in a long time. If you plan to eat here for any reason, just do it for their Mac n cheese. Let me just say, YUM! That was an experience. The garden salad was lovely and their house champagne vinaigrette is spot on. The service was great, and its a lovely restaurant and area overall. I definitely plan to return and try some more of the menu. As the food came out for other people, each dish looked delicious!

Party of four had delicious meals! We sat at the outdoor picnic tables. Tables are spaced nicely so youre not sitting on top of everyone else. There are also indoor eating options. If Im not mistaken, this restaurant is just outside of the Pearl development area, which is a must see. For starters, we may have had the best roasted Brussels sprouts ever! They were large, crunchy and crispy while not over-done. Two people had burgers which they said tasted very good. They also asked for the spicy slaw as a side, but it turns out it was WAY too spicy. Youve been warned. They also ordered a side of onion rings which were piled high and delicious. The two of us shared a Cobb salad and an appetizer of meatballs as a meal. Everything was fresh and tasted good. Our server was very friendly and attentive. However, despite her continued table stops, the food took FOREVER. Could have been the crowd, could have been the kitchen but it was definitely slow. Should have gotten a better pic, sorry. You can see a split Cobb salad, meatballs and delicious bread! And, you can glimpse the mountain of onion rings at the top. Overall, very good food, atmosphere and experience.

This restaurant only has one veggie sandwich on the menu, and my cousins are vegetarian, but they loved it. We also got the avocado toast and onion rings, which were great. My husband and I shared a chicken sandwich, and it was delicious; large enough for two people to share. Steve was our server, and he was awesome. We visited San Antonio and wanted to try the this place due to all the reviews. It was a big let down for my partner and I. The nachos were definitely a 2.0 and that s being nice. I was not a fan of the cheese. That amount of the chips was less than the toppings. The pepper bacon a 1.8. Super chewy. The crispy chicken sandwich a 4.0 . The best part was the topochico drinks we ordered. That comes in a bottle so there s no way that could have been a miss. The service was great. Christian was an attentive waiter. We came in at 9:00 pm. I don t know if they were rushing the food order but the food was not satisfying at all.
