Stacey the yoga instructor ( I use that title extremely loosely) was verbally and emotionally abusive to me, this was a known issue and received no repercussions for this. Stacey you shouldn t be around patients and have some serious mental issues. Imagine if Paula Deen tried to coerce you into doing downward dog against your will and that s Stacey. Also she passed out some books on satanism to patients. Yikes. Dr. Arze the psychiatrist spawned onto the planet but did not have a compassion gene installed prior to this event (whatever you do, don t cry when she asks you SUPER loaded questions, it triggers her fight or flight and trust, she s just not on the clock for that). In order to get her most out of her consults, just rip a page out of a magazine with the Rx you want and hold it up and point, non-verbally.. Better yet, just send an email because it s obvious she hates patient care. I cannot emphasize this enough, Rivercrest was a wildly unprofessional place and I didnt feel safe there. It is a slush fund for GAFB and the lunatics are running this asylum.

This was one of the greatest experiences for me given the circumstance I have been to two other psychiatric hospitals and this hospital was top tier. Not only did the staff really genuinely care but they went above and beyond to advocate for you. Kira was amazing and showed tough love so did Amber A. Khy and Lily was very attentive to the patients during recreational therapy. Monica and Desirae were amazing in teaching us boundaries and self care. Stacy did amazing with yoga and music therapy. The staff is A-1 and they love what they have been called to do! I recommend this facility to anyone needing psychiatric help or mental health treatment. From the admission to discharge you can feel the genuine love and support. Again thank you staff. -HLJ

I was a patient im River Crest numerous times in the early 2000s. The last time was fall 2010. I always felt safe and cared for there. The staff all of them were very respectful and helped me with everything I was dealing with. I finally got the correct diagnosis and meds and I have not been in a hospital since May 2011. I would highly recommend River Crest to anyone who is having any type of mental health issues. I want to say Thank You for the wonderful care that I received when I was in the hospital.

Was discharged Tuesday. They were supposed to send my scripts to a pharmacy. By Thursday I called and asked them where the scripts were. Apparently they didnt make it over there according to Lanny. They had to call and get it sent again. Was there for five days. They knowingly use a broken blood pressure machine that inflates the cuff over and over. I was bruised and left with marks from being pinched by it. The staff talks loudly all the time even at night. We cant close our doors so we get to hear them talk all hours of the night. They also talk about how much they hate their job. And how much it sucks to be there. Because of that its hard to get information about anything. I didnt get some personal items back either. Also asked to see a therapist for a one on one multiple times and never got it. on Monday literally watched 6 movies cuz no one showed up to lead groups. I wanted to go to the st johns camp at Shannon behavioral but there were no available beds so rivercrest was a last resort. Do not recommend.

It sent me to decline it sent me to intake and then it finally sent me to Oak not to mention for the fact that they are wanting to send it to me through mail and not tell me the exact day that I will be getting it so until then I am left without my inhalers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. The staff were RUDE and hung up on me when I tried to check on my child. I could NOT get answers nor speak to certain staff when I requested for the WHOLE week my child was in there. They DO NOT do checks every 15 minutes which they advised they do during intake. FEMALE ADOLESCENCE WERE ABLE TO MAKE OUT (KISS) AND SNEAK INTO THE BOYS ROOMS- WHEN I THOUGHT THIS WAS A PLACE TO GET HELP. THEY PLAYED SPIN THE BOTTLE ETC. My child stated this place was NO HELP AND MOST OF THE TIME THERE WERE NO COUNSELORS ON SITE. My child stated this place was MORE DRAINING AND STRESSFUL THAN ANYTHING WITH ALL THE CHAOS SND STAFF DID NOTHING TO CONTROL IT. All they made them do was color-no outside activities. This made my child more depressed than they were when they arrived. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THIS PLACE-

If I could give this place -10 starts I would. My daughter was a patient here in May of 2022. After leaving this awful place she is now traumatized. She stayed there for 3 days. The first day we were allowed to speak with her around 630 pm. In that conversation she was so scared and felt unsafe. I called and wanted to get her out immediately. The nurse I spoke with was so terrifible. I told her my daughter felt unsafe and she told me where did she try to hurt herself? Her name is Melinda,I believe. Me husband and I drove there immediately to get her out and they threaten us with police and a judge to keep her in there longer. Before my daughter arrived at this facility I was not notified that it was a coed facility and I was not aware that this was really not a voluntary place. My daughter complaints are so alarming. An older boy asked my daughter if she wanted to be a tripper. I notified Melinda the RN and she got on to my daughter threatening her that if she wants to get out of there she would need to not speak of this to her parents. After that incounter my daughter was terrified to speak up about the things she was uncomfortable with. When we picked her up she heard the birds and was so amazing by the sounds of outside because they were not allowed outside time for most of her stay. Please do not send your children here. This place needs to be shut down for the safety of our children. I now will never trust the medical system for mental health and I am a student nurse. Also be aware of what voluntary means when it comes to these type of places. I will continue to pray for the children that are there and I will pray that the nurse, Melinda will find compassion when it comes to her line of work

This is a horrible place. I came here at age 17. I was attacked by a girl because apparently I was speaking too loud for her opinion. She got 4 hits in before they grabbed her. They did not allow me a phone call till 2 hours after the attack. I didn t even fight back because my back was turned. She tried to attack me a second time. And instead of removing her they sent me to the children s area which is bad on its own. It s so freezing. When I went in they took all my clothes and I was stuck in the room with clothes made of paper and thin hospital socks for almost 2 hours. I thought I would freeze. I asked for my slippers and they said no. I never got them. the beds are a joke. The blankets they give you are LITERALLY towels. So thin rough, and short they never let us outside either. Maybe once the entire two weeks o was there. Group therapy was a joke. We just went in a circle, said how we felt then listened to music the entire time. The staff is kind but not experienced AT ALL. They don t allow us in our rooms during the day. Not enough chairs either. I sat on the cold concrete floor most of the time. They only gave me 2 pairs of clothes and 3 pairs of socks for 2 weeks. Basically a prison with less rights.

They started me on 4 different types of medications within 3 days and then completely cut me off of them when I left against medical advice. I was not treated fairly, I came out worse than when I went into this facility, and I pray to God no one has to go through what I did. Shut this place down fellas. Nurses are rude for one. If you wanted to talk to your family member, think again, definitely not gonna happen at this place. They continuously give excuse after excuse as to why you cant talk to your loved one AND THEN get even more rude with you like its your fault... Hate this place. Uneducated, lazy, down right do not care about their patients... 10/10 would not recommend.

KIDNAPPERS DO NOT GO HERE!!!This place held my husband against his will while I was home being stalked, hunted and in need of my husband. Gwynn refused to let me speak to my husband or his doctors. DO NOT GO HERE

They continued to bill me for miscellaneous items after I have paid the full balance. After Continuously asking if I have paid the final bill I am still receiving bills in small amounts.

I hated it there.I was a patient there just a few weeks ago and the staff were just awful.Non of them wanted to talk to me when I needed to vent.Non of them seemed like they really cared. And thanks to the horrible experience I feel anxious all the time.I feel even worse now that I was in there against my will.I hated it.It scarred me for life. The hospital is lucky that Im giving them a star. But they dont deserve anything else.I hate that place and Id never suggest it to anyone who needs help.Id tell them to go else where.Ive also been having really bad dreams of going back to the unit.I was in there and no one actually cared. They were all full of sarcasm and nasty words.overall what Im trying to say is thanks a lot river chrest. You made my life harder.

My husband and daughter received help from RCH. They were wonderful for our family (and still are). I have spoken with many members of the staff and all were helpful and understanding. One of the front desk employees is extremely hospitable but the other maybe shouldnt be on front desk or working with people. Shes exact opposite of the other woman. There will always be emotional reviews because of the situations handled; however, they are competent and caring.

My 15yr old son was sent here for suicide threats. While here he explained to the many different staff If I am released, I will hurt myself or my family. He told them that he heard voices to hurt his family. He was given meds and released. Upon returning home, my son assaulted me. The SO ED him to Abilene. (I wrote a review there as well) No one has been able to explain to me whats going on with my son.

Lady at front desk is very rude. Cant ask questions without being told to have a seat. If she cant multitask then she shouldnt work at a front desk.
