Myself and a cousin came in from out of town to visit and decided to stop in when we were riding around. We got sat with one of the rudest waitresses, I cant remember her name but she was a younger short Hispanic girl with bad eyebrows who seemed more interested in being on her phone and talking to the guys around her or the girl who sat us. Whenever we asked a question bc we dont have any places like this in our town she gave us a condescending answer and just rolled her eyes. I dont like to give bad reviews but she completely ignored us and seemed more interested in talking to one of her boyfriends. The food was good but not what we ordered and it seemed like a replacement was out of the question.

I Love Bonsai Garden. The atmosphere is Awesome. The Service is Good. And The food is Always Really Good.. very rarely there is an issue with the food. This restaurant is in bad need of updating and repair. Yes the food is good, but don t wear shorts because almost all the seats are torn and dig into your legs. Also the bathrooms are comparable to a shady truck stop bathroom. I mean they are BAD! Including bad smells. You can tell they tried to repaint the bathroom but whoever did it, just didn t give AF because there is overspray everywhere. They even have graffiti written in the color of the recent paint. I just don t understand charging such high prices and then letting your restaurant get so dilapidated. It is definitely a turn off and makes one wonder what shape the kitchen is in. Take more pride in your restaurant and just do some basic maintenance.

Normally for price gets some flash or a show..nothing, just watched our food get over cooked..Can not recommend a return visit.Watched others being served as well,same across the board..No frills cooking. Very unique. Had never been before. Our chef made the fried rice fresh right there. He even flicked small bites into peoples mouths. Steak & chicken were great. The firey display was impressive. Kindvof expensive and they dont have any gluten free (GF) options except white rice. Everything is cooked with soy so not GF.

We were seated quickly but the table is too crowded... we ordered our drinks and were served salad and soup. The soup had a layer of oil floating at the top of it. The salad was a mix of crisp and wilted lettuce. Our food was prepared in front of us. The appetizer shrimp had a strange metal taste. The chicken and steak were cooked nicely. I called to put in a reservation for 6 people at 630 for my birthday. They informed me they have a reservation already at that time. So it would be hit or miss if they could serve me and my party. This place has the worst hostess s of anywhere I ve ever been. Doesn t matter who is working they are all rude. The waiting for your whole party to be there when there is no wait is also not a good business practice. Once you get pasted the hostess stand and get seated, food is great and wait staff is good. I ve been coming to here to eat hibachi since I was 15 and I have never been disappointed until today. The hostess was very unfriendly and look like she hated her job. No how are y all doing today or hi welcome to bonsais . All she said was booth,table, or grill without a smile. I normally sit at a grill but today decided to take a booth. The seats and table were sticky and dirty. We waited about 10 mins after being seated until someone came to take our drink order. My husband ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi and it was cold and flavorless. His steak was supposed to be medium rare but it was well done. My sons chicken was so dry and it tasted like nothing. Their fried rice was cold and had no seasoning. We were very disappointed in our service and food. Will not be coming back again.

Ordered shrimp and scallops. Shrimp turned in to rubber right in front of my eyes. Scallops were very dark on one side and light on the other. The vegetables were ALL SALT. I actually choked on a piece of broccoli floret that was holding a bomb of salt. Pepsi products, but no diet anything except Dr. Pepper. People are nice. Food to price ratio. NOT WORTH IT. Im sorry if this is supposedly the best Hibachi place? San Angelo is in trouble. The fan over the grill was so loud you cant hear yourself think! Vegetarian options: It is, what it is.

I eat here every Friday, they are very nice and are very quick to take my order. The food is always amazing and cooked right. I usually get the spider roll and teriyaki steak to go and while most places would normally over cook the steak when i ask for rare, they do not. UPDATE 2023: had dinner with a friend and it is still wonderful! The portions are huge and food is excellent. And, our server, Jordan, was attentive and pleasant. This is still one of my favorite San Angelo restaurants! i had the pleasure of my first visit here! the inside decor is comfortable and pleasant. the server was very polite helpful and attentive. i chose the lunch special with steak and chicken and was pleasantly surprised by the enormous portions that were enough for two full meals. my white wine was very reasonably priced and i was very satisfied with the cost and entire experience! I will definitely dine here again!

I had a sushi dish that was good, but thats where it ends being good.I got the teriyaki plate, but the chicken was dry and over cooked, and it had bits of blackened bits. The food was great! However, the experience not so much. We ve been to many hibachi restaurants and usually have a great time. We took our son here for his first one. The chef did not do any tricks whatsoever besides throwing egg into our mouths. We kept waiting for more things to happen but he literally just cooked and left. He didn t spin any spatulas or even try. It was a very disappointing experience that we have been looking forward too. When he asked if there was anything else he could do for us, I jokingly asked if he had a train whistle (to at least do SOMETHING) he did not. The only reason I m giving this place 2 stars is because the food was excellent.

Great food! The dinner filet mignon and shrimp was great! Had a party of 12 on Sunday afternoon before the church rush. We all enjoyed our food, atmosphere, and the cook very much. I guess the 4 star is because our waitress was lacking experience. We waited for our drinks that took a while. I order from the bar a round of warm sake that took 20 min to arrive. We could tell she was new. Will be back again.
