This is a great park with ample parking. There is a small pool with a waterslide. There are plenty of covered tables to rent you can also rent boats, canoes, and various other water vehicles. They have life jackets and water float type equipment . There are cabins to rent as well. It is a clean park. There is a public restroom but it has the foulest smell all the time. There are trailer (RV) hookups. You can fish. The water way is always busy. There are volleyball and tennis courts. Plenty of tables for picnics. There is a small playground for kids but watch out for spiders. Playground: Small playground Toilets: Stinky Picnic area: Many areas

Nice pretty park located off base at the Goodfellow recreation area located on Lake Nasworthy. 20 full hookups. 10 partial that are flat but not paved. Staff is super nice. Only issue are the rest rooms and laundry. They smell really bad. Just 2 washers & 2 dryers. I d stay here again especially because of cost (only $15 night for partial) but they really need to fix the restroom issue. Drive across the bridge for fuel and amenities just a few minutes away. BX & commissary 10 miles away. Remember this is located off base. Cabins, pool & playground are located here also. Was very quiet at night. Met some nice people here too!

Family of 4 adults, 2 children and 3 dogs (now 2 as one passed away while we were there). Our stay was November 2, 2023 to February 1, 2024. We were in site #20 which is FHU, paved, back in site. We loved this one specifically as it gave our family and dogs space to run without issue (dogs on leads of course). It is very quiet during the months we were there which we loved. Park is good - better for smaller kiddos. Basketball court is great and there is a tennis court, you just have to get the net and all from the front desk staff. You can rent some of the boats and all before it gets too late in the season - we did not but you can. There is no dog park. With how much space there is at this location, which is great, a portion of it could be used f/a dog park. Fishing is good from what we saw, we did not have any of our fishing stuff but saw others who did and were successful. The grass is full of chiggers in some parts so shoes are a must! Be careful with your pups too if they get them in their paws! Only a few times did it cause issue. The laundry facility is small, so we used Laundry Luv in San Angelo, and it is the BEST laundromat Ive been too. They utilize a card system so be prepared f/that if you use them. Great f/those days when you want to wash all your bedding at one time too! The bathhouse could use a little touchup, but it is fully functional and serves its purpose. We will definitely be coming back to this area as it is our favorite so far. We are super low maintenance and enjoy the quiet, so this was perfect for us. Want to clarify: our 15-yr old Maltese passed f/natural causes that had NOTHING to do with the FamCamp or local area. Playground: There is a small playground which is good for smaller kiddos. Basketball court and tennis court available as well. Toilets: Bathhouse had showers, including handicap accessible, and plenty of toilets and sinks. Just needs to be updated a bit. The individuals who came to clean did not do a thorough job at all which was frustrating.

We stayed in a pull thru site with full hook ups. The park is very clean, very quiet and we felt very safe. The fishing was good. We caught quite a few bass using chicken liver. Playground: There was a small playground and a swimming pool. Picnic area: We had a group gathering in one of the pavilions. They provided a jumping house for the kids and a grill. The party room was big with a full kitchen.

Camping at Goodfellow AFB Recreation Famcamp, Texas for two nights. A nice park that is located off base. There are two small parks, one with shade, one with no shade. It is located on a lake, has laundry room and a swimming pool. There is a gate that closes at night. Full hookup with 30/50 amp, great water pressure. Today only 50% of sites are taken. You can make reservations. $25/night Playground: Nice small playground. Dog-friendliness: On leash

Nice recreational park. RV sites are kind of close, but not as much as most private parks. Fees are very reasonable @ this particuar park (& considering the park has actual recreational ammenities & on a lake, thats amazing), but I just wish most of these military rec & RV parks fees were a little less expensive, & closer to the fees that they used to charge. It used to cost 1/2 or less of what it would to go to a private park @ most military parks - now most military parks charge more than a Texas state park & closer to the going rate of privately owned park. This one is in-line with most TX state parks, though - which was nice. Unfortunately when we were there the very shaded full hook-ups were full, so we had to stay in the over-flow that did not have sewer or shade & was kind if far removed from everything else @ the park - but we only passed through for one night, so it wasnt s big deal. Definitely not a bad deal for $15 & makes being a military retiree worth it! Dog-friendliness: Dogs welcome.

This is the first military RV park that hasnt been part of the military base itself. There Was no need to flash military ID every time you went in and out. Overall, didnt occupy huge amount of territory but there was plenty of spacing between the various rigs that were there. Our site was level, water and electric work exactly as youd ask. All in all, it was a great place to stop. There was nothing bad to point out so that part was good weather happened to be quite good while we were there as well and that never hurts. In town, we stopped at the Old Fort concho and did a small tour there ourselves. Overall, very pleasant experience nice area to be in.

This park is not located on the base like most FamCamps. There are about 10 full hook sites and we were told there should be space, they dont take reservations. When we arrived, the full hook up sites seemed to be occupied by longterm folks. We went to the overflow with water and electricity only. No trees and dusty field area. The site didnt seem secure like military FamCamps. We couldnt complain at $15 a night and used the on-site dump station when we departed. No frills but gave us a place to stay to enjoy the San Angelo area.

The facility itself is nice, and very clean, with the exception of the restrooms, that smell like 20 years of moldy septic. The staff is very friendly, courteous and personable. Never missed a step in trying to help with any questions or issues. The internet...If you want internet here, bring your own. The staff isnt responsible for the quality, but, the department associated with Goodfellow AFB, and the military that run these places, are basically slapping Veterans (and Active Duty personnel that may stay here) in the face when it comes to offering internet. For the first two weeks, it didnt work. Then, it was fixed, and now, on a good day, I am able to check my email, and only have to refresh the connection about 10 times. And, god forbid you are a streamer or a gamer. Those services arent available to me here. Its really rather a shame that whomever is responsible for that aspect, is so comfortable with providing the LEAST amount of service and quality to the people who gave the MOST of themselves to the defense of this nation. Barring that, I have no issues here. But, thats just a real kick in the teeth. They should be forced to say that there is internet here when available, and not as a blanket statement, because, it just isnt true. And, its as bad at 0300 as it is at 1500.

Staying via trailer sucks. No shade whatsoever because the area with full hookup and trees is obviously being occupied long term. The ONLY area you can reserve is basically a parking lot. The staff is great If you rent a cabin, you will be happy. But as a stay over for travel trailer, etc... It ruined the our mini getaway.

We live full time in our 5th wheel. I really enjoy how big the spots are here. You have tons of space! Can easily park 3-4 cars at each and still have room. Its simple and clean and is nice to walk and sit by the lake. There are shade trees at the full hook up spots. There are a lot of burs all over the ground though so you have to be careful when walking dogs with long hair through the grass. We have to pick them out of my dogs feet often. Some are sharp. The laundry room is nice and spacious if you like to sit/fold in there and Ive rarely had to wait for a washer. Unfortunately the playground is a little small and there isnt a dog park. But we play fetch on the tennis court with our dog.

All I can say is wow...this is the worst military campsite I have experienced. How do you not take reservations for full hook ups...and only take reservations for partial, and then stick people a 1/4 mile away from actual restrooms! I cannot believe that these extensions are not full hook up, and cant believe the layout here. By far the worst layout I have seen traveling through the US and staying at 13 other military campsites. So now I stay here two nights collecting waste, and then have to dump by all the other campers on the other side of this mess!!! Dont care that theres a lake...I would rather have the security of knowing that Im going to have a full hook up upon arrival. This is the last time Ill stay here. I should have reserved the KOA or other place...but now Im out of luck. Give the guy a promotion that runs this place!!!

It is usually a great time to go to the recreation camp. But this summer it seems like the rules are a little out of hand. For instance if you did not rent one of the covered picnic tables then you cant sit at them, even if it is for a few minutes to let the kids eat a burger. Also there was no one else their and had no reservation on that spot for the day. Another is now you half to take your shirt off if you want to swim in the pool because the cotton in my shirt messes with the pool levels. I am a disabled veteran who has scars all over my back. It is embarrassing for me to go shirtless. It seems like everytime we go there are more and more of these crazy type rules. We have been going for 2 years and it use to be a great experience. I seriously doubt we will go back again.

Marginal 4 stars. Prime real estate for a military recreation area. Especially in the middle of Texas. However, the RV sites are very Spartan. Especially the pull through spots on the south end. They only have electric and water hookup, no sewer. The 175 day people get prime sites with full hookups. Why is that? Why not allow transients those sites? Staff remember at the counter was friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi is intermittent throughout the sites. The office is on the edge of the lake and there are no signs pointing to the office so its kind of hard to find. However, for $15 a night its hard to beat.

First & foremost forget about getting a full hookup. These appear to reserved for only friends of the the guy in charge that are homesteaders. All the full hookups look as if the the campers have lived there a number of months. The one that was coming open on the day we arrived was occupied at 12:30 when we got there. Keep in mind these are supposed to be 1st come 1st service. After 2:00pm this camper left and another friend of the the guy moved in. And no they had not been waiting. Now there is a printed paper in the office denoting no stay more than 90 days. That doesn t seem to adhered to. When checking in the young lady placed us in an occupied site in the temp area. We had to find an open site ourselves. No sewer. When asked some very basic questions, she couldn t answer any of them. The guy came in to act as if we were squatters in his personal kingdom. Upkeep is also a problem. Grass in the entire park needs to be cut. Looking somewhat mouse infected. Bugs are bad. There was a giant ant mound at our site. In the temporary area we were in, it is very loud. Major road next door with a 24 hr convenience store within a stone s throw. For some reason the bath house is located beside the full hookup sites. So the people without sewer have to walk the furthest. The people with sewer and no need of the bath house are right beside it. No parking signs near the bath house. No hooks or towel rods in the bathhouse. The laundry mat has ONE operating washer & two dryers. The room & machines are very dirty. We won t be back. Numerous private campgrounds nearby that offer much better accommodations and they want you to be there. No special people that don t have to follow the rules.

Just ok. Grounds need work, spray for weeds.....laundry need to be sprayed for bugs. Only one washer 2 dryers. Would expect more from Air force facilities.

This is a great place to stay with your RV. There is a good overflow section. It has a pool, picnic areas, playground and boat dock. Nice grass and shaded areas. Secure with the gate locked at night. Be sure and have the code if you plan to be out late. San Angelo is a wonderful town too!!

I poured some sidewalks there for my work. The staff were friendly, helpful and well presentable! The area looked clean and kept up!
