Love this place, my wife and I come as often as we can. My office held an event and it was excellent. Food is always fresh, portions are mostly generous. Drinks are excellent. Service is always good. Atmosphere is charming. We have done the Tuesday pre fix option and were very pleased. The food was excellent and the price was great. We are still trying to get there for one of their around the world events.

We went to Alexander s last night and it was fabulous. We started with the baked Brie. I had the ribeye and my husband had the pork chop. Both were cooked perfectly. I had a Spicy Marg which was great. For dessert I had crème brûlée which is my favorite- I could like the bowl! Taylor, our waitress was so personable and on top of everything. I forgot pictures before we ate our entrees. I would highly recommend trying them out.

I asked the bartender how do you make your whiskey sours. She said with aqua faba, I was happy (I prefer egg whites, but aqua faba is good too). I then asked for a Boulevardier, and then an Aviation, both were great. I have finally found a craft cocktail bar in this part of Texas. The food was great as well. I intend to go back soon.

The Ribeye was tough and over seasoned. The mashed potatoes were cold. The green beans were dry and tasteless. The rack of lamb meat was quarter sized at best. The cream brûlée sugar was burned black. The muscles were dry. This was the third strike. No more dinner here. Our group of 6 was celebrating a 38 year anniversary. We were surprised they never offered the couple a dessert on the house. Our overall bill was just under $900.00. Sad.

A couple of us girls went for lunch on a Saturday. It wasnt busy at all, it was nice actually. Cream of Mushroom soup, crab cakes, charcuterie board and figs with baked brie are what we ordered. It was just 3 of us, we shared with each other. 2 of of us got drinks. The food and drinks were very good, I was impressed. Atmosphere wise eh it was ok. Service wise we sat there for 30 min waiting for our check. I think they honestly forgot about us, they were setting up for a party. I understand that they were preoccupied but you still have guest that may have wanted more drinks or dessert. We just got up when to the front and found someone so we could pay. That was my only annoyance, hopefully next time it s not like that.

The food was decent, I had the lamb chops, my wife had the ribeye. The cocktails were surprisingly uninspiring and somewhat dull tasting, given that their name includes craft cocktails . They appear at first sight to be creative but the flavors don t go well together. The place was quite loud for us, we could hardly carry on a conversation. But the ambiance was nice despite it. Given the price point, I was expecting something like a little version of The Roaring Fork, which has a nice cocktail selection, but it was more like Pignettis in Temple sans the spectacular wine list. We ll probably be back at some point, try some other options and see how that goes. Perhaps it was simply a slow night for them.

Edit: Small nuanced changes would be 5 star. A waiter or bar back upstairs on the weekend. She rocked it but that s a lot to ask of one server/bartender and puts it back on the guest not wanting to bother such a busy, hardworking waitress. No salt/pepper on tables and almost empty when requested. No pepper mill at a restaurant of this caliber? Needed water or carafe if you are going to run things short staffed. 5 stars to the server. Takes reservations! Great charcuterie and apps. Lovely for cocktail hour or full dinner to treat yourself or someone else. Can t go wrong with the crab cakes, pork chop or steak. Honestly, have never had a bad meal here.

This was me and my wifes first visit. First off, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Set in an old Victorian styla home in a beautiful area near a running creek. The decor was charming and they did a great job with utilizing each room for all the dinning, as well a beautiful bar upstairs. We both started with the one of their crafted cocktails. Both were very good. Overall the food was good. We started with the crab cakes for our appetizer. The were very tasty! My wife ordered the beef tenderloin and I ordered the ribey. Both were ordered medium cook. Hers came out more rare, almost bloody, and mine was came out medium-well. My wife sent hers back to cook a bit more, I kept mine. The flavor was there, but it was a little tougher being over cooked. My wife enjoyed hers after it was corrected. As for the deserts, I had the bread pudding and my wife had the Creme Brule. My wife enjoyed hers but said it nothing special, but good. As for my bread pudding, it was served in a iron skillet with ice cream, but it was more ice cream than bread pudding and the bread pudding was over baked/burnt on the bottom. It was definitely not a traditional Irish bread pudding and not worth the cost. I will say our service was outstanding! Everything came out reasonably quick and our server was very attentive and pleasant. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves. Great drinks and appetizers paired with a great atmosphere and service, made for an enjoyable evening. Just be prepared for a hefty bill! For just the two of us, it was well over $200.

Good decor and staff. The menu looked promising with the right combination of ingredients. However, the delivery fell short. My first time eating here was roughly a year ago. I would have given this restaurant a 100 star review. It was absolutely Delicious! Each time I have returned, the quality of the meals have become more and more disappointing. :( The service is WONDERFUL. The atmosphere is so quaint and peaceful. I keep returning hoping for my meal will hold to the standard of when I first visited. Last night was another decent meal, but nothing special. We had an overcooked steak, the cauliflower was soggy, and the seasoning on the ribeye tasted like it should go in hamburger meat. The seasoning overpowered the steak and ruined the piece of meat. :( The staff was fantastic and replaced the well done steak (and discounted it on the check). The atmosphere and staff deserve 100 stars, but unfortunately, based on the last 4 visits, I dont believe the food deserves more than 3 stars. I still ALWAYS recommend Alexanders as an amazing date night restaurant, but have been telling ppl that they will be paying for the atmosphere, not the food. I will continue to return for the occasional date night but without high expectations of the dinner plate. Maybe next time Ill be pleasantly surprised :)

We are staying at the BandB it s wonderful highly recommended that. This restaurant however I do not. I have worked in the restaurant industry for years. The bartender poured to heavy so heavy the drinks weren t drink able. The server was clueless and wasn t very helpful. My food came out lukewarm it was so cold the butter on top wasn t even melted then they took it back and microwaved it. It came back out cold the plate was hotter then the food. They took the meal off which wasn t what I asked for, I asked for it to be remade hot. The manager came over with an attitude saying they d remake it if I paid half price because then he d be losing two $50 steaks that night. It came out hot but it was so over cooked it tasted like gross fatty microwave meat. I am now left with no dinner after my husband as already eaten and I had to wait two hours to eat. Literally some of the worst service and food I ve ever had. The server literally said there was nothing he could do and the manager was reluctant to help. So sad I can pay $16 for a steak at Texas road house and it comes out great and I can t get it at a very expensive restaurant. This place deserves 0 stars and the manager should figure out how to work in customer service. I was so upset I got up and walked out my husband paid for his dinner lamb was very good and our wine and the manager didn t even come back to the table.

This place is a little slice of Heaven on the Salado River. The ambience is exceptional! The waitress was very friendly and knew exactly how to wait a table. It is really hard to find good service and when you do you make note of it. Lets get to the food shall we. The Rack of Lamb was perfectly cooked to temp. Well seasoned and juicy! Boy, make you wish it was a full rack! The mash potatoes were creamy and paired perfectly with the lamb. The veggies were prepared just right! Not over cooked and not under cooked. Perfect snap and texture from both the carrots and squash! Very good job. The Tenderloin was amazing! Cooked so well and didnt miss the mark by any means. The seasoning was used perfectly giving it a well rounded savory steakhouse flavor. The, what I assume are, Purple Majesty potatoes were amazing! The beef tallow really pulled through giving them a nice silky feel with great hearty profile that is complementary to their already sweet flavor. The asparagus was well prepared again not over cooked good snap and well salted. The tomatoes were delightful pearls of goodness. That ripe sweet flavor that adds to the richness of this whole dish helping wash away the salt to taste everything. I do have to say they have a great staff not just in the front but behind the scenes as well. Whoever is working the kitchen keep up the good work!

Gave this a four star for the great service. Since this is one of our favorite restaurants, we decided to return for my birthday. It must have been an off night: Had a 6:45 reservation, however they were 1. already out of the Focaccia bread (shd mark menu as such), 2. Tenderloin and pork chops were tasty as usual but knifes were very dull so difficult to cut, 3. Asparagus spears were stringy, 4. When I made reservation I mentioned it was a birthday dinner however no mention of it from waitress all night. If it was noted, it should have been mentioned. Needless to say, we walked away feeling let down

Last month a fresh loaf of focaccia bread, wonderful tomato bisque, hot fresh baked potato, delicious green beans, very good steak. Friday night a few pieces of day-old bread, extremely spicy tomato bisque, baked potato obviously warmed over from previous meal, green beans so hard they could not be chewed, and steak all fat and gristle (very few bites of meat). My wife sent back potato. It was heated (a little) and returned to her. That did not help. Now we have a large bill on our credit card and nothing to show for it. However the server was very good.

Quaint spot for semi formal dining experience. Dining are indoors is like an old house with smaller and, generally, quieter rooms. We had reservations and service was prompt and professional. Decent wine and beverage selection available. We got the crab cakes A+, Shrimp and grits A- (good, slightly too much oil base but good flavor), Sirloin steak (B+, a little too fatty for our taste but seasoned well and cooked perfectly) and the bread pudding (A++, get two of them!). Overall very good, well be back in the future. Kids are okay to bring as well, several other people brought their kids

I m sorry but it is extremely over priced. That was the absolute worst shrimp and grits I ve ever tasted and it was also the most expensive and the smallest portion. The bread pudding was terrible. If you want the best bread pudding in Texas go to Perini Ranch. I m not even sure there was any whiskey in the whiskey sour I ordered. 2 nd time going there and the 2nd time being extremely disappointed.

This is our favorite date spot in Salado! The ambiance is amazing and food and drinks are delicious! We love coming Tuesdays and sitting in the lounge for their margarita happy hour. The kung pao cauliflower is out of this world! It s enough to feed 3 people as a meal!

Service was amazing and the food was good. I do wish the dishes were a little more traditional instead of unique. The grits were a little undercooked and a bit too fishy and the carrot cake was overly spiced. Wed go back but it wasnt a standout meal. Great venue and people though!

A grilled 6 oz. rib eye steak with béarnaise, jalapeño mac and cheese, and roasted asparagus with a thyme roasted strawberry cream mini pie for dessert. This is our new favorite place. The staff is very attentive and the food, ambiance is just fantastic.

This is such a cute home converted to a restaurant. Our server was friendly and helpful. I ordered their salmon and it was delicious! My friends ordered the pork chop and tenderloin and everyone loves their food. Their well drinks are super weak for the price,I was disappointed with that. Its also a beautiful walk past some gorgeous homes and down a long dark road from the Shady Villa where we were staying.

Atmosphere was nice, waitress couldn t bother to fill drinks had a bottle of water out on the table, steak had zero seasoning. Sides had no flavor. If I m paying about 50.00 a plate I expect better service than what I would see at a chilis and better food as well. Execution of wait staff and chef need to come up or prices need to come down. My potato was literally cut in slices and drizzled with cheap cheese and what looked like bacon bits .. really on a 44 dollar plate! Tell me I m crazy but my steak would have been better at Texas Roadhouse and that s sad.

This is by far my favorite fine dining experience in the Belton/Killeen/Temple area! A small seasonal menu includes crafted cocktail selections. Every selection from any course of the dinners Ive enjoyed there have been excellent. My personal favors are the double-bone pork, coffee rubbed ribeye, or half rack of lamb. Appetizers run been $14-24, entrees $30-45. It is well worth the price. Service is excellent while remaining friendly in Texas tradition. For an unassuming yet extraordinary dining experience make a trip to Alexanders. Perhaps even get a suite at the attached boutique hotel Inn on the Creek.

Disappointed - First time dining here, recommended by good friends....all six of ordered the special (salad, pasta, wine & dessert) our salad was served & a few minutes later our main meal was served causing our dinners to become cold as we finished the salad....we were told it was what the chef said to do because they were so busy. Our carrot cake was dry - we ate the frosting as that was the best part of dessert. We will try one more time as the setting is beautiful but we felt our dining experience & food should have been handled much better. Serving your salad & main meal all at once is not what I call appropriate & if it happens the next time we will not be back.

Tonight was the first time we were disappointed in our prix fixe. The pasta bolognese was served together with the caesar salad and the pasta was not even luke warm. By the time we finished the pasta...it was cold. The carrot cake...well, lets just say we ate the frosting and not the cake. We had brought two new couples with us, of which one is a very good cook. We also ran into neighbors of ours, who were just leaving when we got there. They, too, were a little disappointed. We then ordered the bread pudding...and that was a little overdone. Hope we dont encounter that again, as our past meals have been wonderful.

We were extremely pleased with everything about Alexanders Craft Cocktails & Kitchen. The atmosphere, service and food were wonderful. We started by splitting a house salad that was so fresh and delicious. Then had the coffee rubbed ribeye with twice baked potato and fried okra which were all amazing. My husband had the chocolate torte and I wish I would have had room for the creme brule. We will definitely be back when we visit Salado again, hopefully when the weather is milder so we can eat out on the porch overlooking the water.

My sons family arrived at a well-known Salado restaurant for their reservation for my granddaughters graduation dinner to be informed that the restaurant had experienced a maintenance problem and was closed. At the very last minute, Alexanders agreed to host the party of 12 family and friends. We arrived to find our tables set up in a private location with a view of the second-floor deck, room for the decorations, and a small table for gifts and the cake. After having a party of 12 given to her at the last minute, our server Tiffany provided excellent, helpful service to four generations of customers. The food was excellent, the service impeccable, and the location beautiful. My husband and I certainly will be back.

My husband and I have given Alexander s about 3-4 chances. Every time we arrive hopeful the service will be top notch, just like the food and every time we leave dissapointed. The food is exquisite and delicious; however, it is always overshadowed by the lack of quality service from the waiters. This past weekend, for our anniversary we decided to give them one more chance, and after months of not dinning out (bc of covid) we left dissapointed once again. Our waitress stopped checking in on us after we ordered our main entree, and didn t see her for a good 20 minutes. We had no water or wine until my husband walked inside to ask for more. Will not be coming back. I do not, recommend this restaurant.******

We were seated in the lounge area. The lighting was really nice. Music volume could have been a little bit lower though. We didn t ask them to turn it down but I m sure if we did, they would have. The service was top notch (Kudos to my Jersey girl Alexa! The older gentleman who helped out was great too). We did the Valentine s Day pre-chosen menu with four courses and also paid $30 for the wine pairings. The chef did a FANTASTIC job with this!! The duck and the quail were amazing! Alexanders atmosphere was very nice for a date or for a small group. The service was attentive and prompt. The charcuterie board made an excellent appetizer, and the filet was very tender and flavorful. The bread pudding did not disappoint and it was definitely enough to be shared. We enjoyed their craft cocktails, which offered some creative and unique options. With entrees averaging $30, the dinner is not cheap, but I left feeling like the money was well spent and the price paid was a fair trade for the quality of the food, service and atmosphere.
