This place has a feel of a good-ole-bar, more so than a restaurant, but don t let that keep you from ordering off their menu. While I haven t had everything on the menu, but what I have had, has all be delicious. The Chicken fried Chicken and Chicken fried steaks, are great, the catfish basket, fried pickles, just to name a few have never disappointed. I will return many more times.

Waitress didnt know we were there for 10 minutes (sign says seat yourself) we sat in the bar area. Had to ask to get some napkins.. then after food arrived we had to ask for silverware.. She actually told us we could stay and finish our food even though she asked if we wanted our check while we were eating. Shes really young and clearly needed to shadow someone before she took a table on her own.

This was my first time at Sweetwater and I was SO impressed by the incredible service and really cool atmosphere. Madisson was the sweetest. She served me and my dog so well (ensured that my fur baby had enough ice water) and made us feel right at home. I loved the menu and the yummy avocado shrimp salad that I got. I can t wait to come back!! It ll be soon!!

Came here to for a business lunch and we brought our dogs (we re trainers). Madisson was MORE than accommodating! She was AMAZING. Service was fast, she brought water for our babies, regularly checked on us, gave great recommendations, personable, super helpful and just a gem!! Two of us got shrimp avocado salads and one of us got the wings. They were all great! This was our first time here and it will NOT be our last.

Great place! Love the band. Food and drinks were good. Great new restrooms. One thing that was awful was the 3 fluorescent lights hanging right in front of the dance floor. Very bright. Made for a terrible atmosphere at the tables there and hard to see the band. The rest of the place was cozy and lit just right. I asked to turn at least one off and they said no.

We had the chicken fried steak and it was cooked like grandma did, mashed potatoes, were dry and cool, the pinto beans were room temperature as well. On a positive note the fried pickles have got to be the best Ive ever eaten. They are outstanding we give those a 5 rating. We will give it another try just because of the pickles.

This is a bar not a restaurant.you can see the cooks through the side of the bar. They were all young and most had long hair not pulled back or covered. I really wanted to just get up and leave but my husband made me stay. The food was ok, but I question the cleanliness of the kitchen. You can see it looks dingy.

06.13.2024 - we came back to this restaurant and it seems they have gotten much better! They had live music inside this time the volume was quite great, we were still able to talk to each other in our table this time I ordered the hamburger steak and it is out of this world delicious!! With loaded mashed potatoes and very flavored pinto beans I am definitely coming back and sorry recommend it! Come see for yourself. We came here for the first time and we werent disappointed. The hamburger was great, the taste was awesome! Well seasoned and juicy. The service was very friendly, cordial and fast. They have pool tables, games and love music. The atmosphere is very family friendly. Well definitely be back and recommend it. Parking: They have plenty of parking front and back. Kid-friendliness: It has kids games and a soccer for soccer games too!

Got there when it opened. The environment was nice and comfortable. Anna was not pleasant or nice at all. When she asked asked questions she would walk away, didnt write anything down and got one order wrong and when we made suggestions about the food being hard or to runny she got upset at us. She didnt check on us, didnt give us the bill had to ask for it and when I tried to pay she said I am doing other things that will have to wait. Rude person, and she is the reason me and my family wont go back. The food is good thou. Wish there was someone else there at the time.

This hidden gem is what some would call a dive bar, but who doesnt like a good dive bar. Sweetwater has a great bar, good food, and live music most nights, even during the week. There are two sides to this gem. One side is just a bar, with pool tables and other games. This opens to a large outside area dedicated to some great live music to dance to. The other side is a bar, with a pool table, booths and tables. Also is a large stage area for live music and dancing. This fun place has great food, and we love splitting the huge nachos and having beer, margaritas, or shots. We love taking friends here when getting together. The staff is friendly but service can be slow sometimes. Dont be shy to keep asking or reminding them. There is no need to be rude. Just have a shot of tequila and chill. Fun place with a fun atmosphere.

I have been eating at Sweetwater on and off since it opened. I would classify the food as basic bar food with some entrees. In the beginning the food was great and the quality was consistent. For the last year or even longer, the food has gone downhill and so has the service. The fried food is sometimes overcooked and the food is served lukewarm. The last few times we have been there, the food takes forever to come out and it hasn t been super busy. Last night, four of the people at our table ordered pasta and all four dishes were not hot. The sauce was bland and it tasted as if some of the ingredients used were old. The chicken was small and tasteless. For the prices, the quality and taste are definitely lacking. This place is no longer consistent and I personally think the owner and/or manager need to do something about it. I m giving Sweetwater 3 s. Get it together and do better.

I want to like this place, I do. Been here numerous times. Food is always questionable but this time it was so bad, greasy, kids wouldn t even eat the cheese dip or the grilled cheese, fries seemed nuked not fried. The chicken fried steak was pasty bread on it -blah, sides of mashed potatoes were so old and dry and refrigerated taste. Beans were greasy and so salty I am like how can you jack up a pot of red beans and serve them so grossly in a bowl rimmed with dry crusty bean layers around it. It has been like 3 times we have tried to eat here. Just terrible bar food, not a grill. I say go on down about 2 miles to Burgers and fries. Home cooking with the extra mile or two.

Had a fantastic time at Sweetwater Grill on a rainy Friday night with friends! The live music added a great vibe to our pool and drinks evening. The food was impressive; we kicked off with crispy fried pickles and tasty queso, slightly on the salty side but devoured nonetheless. Our table enjoyed a variety, from burgers to chicken fried steak, blackened tilapia, and BBQ quesadilla everyone left content. Though the burger and quesadilla was a tad smaller than expected, its juiciness and flavor compensated. A special shout-out to the delicious chicken fried steak. Sweetwater Grill delivered a memorable night of good food, live music, fantastic service and great company!

I ve giving this place many chances but it still seems to be a disappointment. Kitchen is closed at the most in opportune times or maybe they just don t want to serve me. The staff is childish and disorganized, this can be fixed with proper training of course. I Don t want to drop the racist card but I feel like my kind are not welcome here. But you serve Pozole! Is it just our food you like and not our people? Maybe! I dint know I needed to be friends with the owner so I can spend money at this establishment. Punitively expensive. $9 for six onion rings? They werent large or fancy. Served in a plastic basket lined with waxed paper. $15 Chicken Fried steak was okay, but every bite was grisly. Flavor was okay except for the super poor cut of meat ruined it for me.. Loaded mashed potatoes were tasty, but the portion was too small at this price. Soft drinks are served in large styrofoam cups. Wifes burger and fries were better value and meal than my chicken fried steak. Service was okay, but twice staff walked past the table and asked if everything was alright, but didnt slow down or listen to hear my requests. I am not soft spoken and they werent busy. Atmosphere was dive bar, but I did enjoy reading some of the signs on the wall. Competition right down the road offers better food at a better price with excellent service. I cant imagine going back unless the live music was great.

I ordered The Cajun chicken pasta, it was flavorless, the toast was burned, and it took close to 45 minutes to even get our food. We had a party of five, and needless to say, their food was about the same quality. This might be a good place to have a few drinks, but I would advise that you eat before you get here, or after you ve had a few drinks.

We have been coming to Sweetwater for years. You can always count on a friendly staff, good food and a cold beverage. Live local music can usually be heard Wednesday-Saturday from up and coming bands. As it gets colder you can find people hanging out around fire pits or playing corn hole in the back. It is nice to catch a game on huge flat screens with friends when your team is playing. Chris has brought this place a long way and is continually improving Sweetwater as time and money allows. If there is ever an issue please let them know as they are great about fixing it.

Let me start off by saying that I am upset at my self for not going sooner. We live on the Rowlett side of the the Bridge, still inside Rockwall county. Not that far, but a good 30 minute drive and being lazy and hungry we always went for the closer options. Well, that will not be the case going forward. We went on a Friday night and the place was packed, but service was still great. There was a live band that was great too. Okay, so when we pulled up the parking lot was packed and spilling into the back that was 60 vehicles deep. We thought we were going to have to wait for a while but, after the drive we were okay with that. When we walked in we were greeted with a big smile and a welcome. The hostess let us know that there would be a little bit of a wait on food. We did not mind and we were Guided to our seats and prvided menus. Our server was at the table within 4 or 5 minutes and got our drink order. I got unsweet tea, my wife got water. The tea was amazing, strong and I had 5 glasses! We ordered the fried pickles for our appetizer, they arrived in about 15 minutes. Not a long wait in my eyes! I was very happy to see they were LIGHTLY breaded. They had an amazing crunch and the ranch was so good. None of the pickels tasted greasy at all. For me, that is a huge plus! As we kept eating and got down to the bottom of the basket we noticed there was sitting oil down in the bottom. That was a bit of a surprise as none of them were greasy, accept the last few still sitting on the bottom. Another 10 seconds to drain would have been PERFECT, but with the kitchen being rushed and backed up, they wanted to make sure the wait was not too long so I respect that so I was not upset at all. The menu offers so many different options, that it was a bit overwhelming to choose. When trying a new place my wife and I always end up getting something we both want, so we can share. That way we both get to try something at the new place! I landed on the chicken fried steak. It comes with mashed potatoes, and beans. The steak was fantastic and moist. The crust was crispy and had tons of flavor. The gravy lacked a bit of salt, but thats totally okay to me because I tend to like more salt than most people. When it comes to salt and pepper, I like to be able to add my own. My wife got the Bacon Cheeseburger, with sweet potato fries. OH MY GOSH!! The bun had to be potato bread or something because it was soft, sweet, and paired with that burger so well. The bacon was GOOD bacon, not that thin overcooked garbage most places serve and call it bacon. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. In fact, it was so good, that my wife would only offer me 2 bites HAHAHA. But man, those were some good bites. NOw, I am not a fan of sweet potato fries, and I only ate a couple. They are just not my thing, however my wife said they were amazing. We truly enjoyed our whole experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and everyone makes you feel like you are home when you are there. If you are on the fence about trying this place, jump off and start running. The prices are VERTY reasonable, the service is amazing, everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is so inviting. I can see spending many of nights here in the future!

Editing: Just feedback in response to owner. I like your restaurant. Food and service has typically been decent and i will bump up a star for that. I returned to order pizza cuz the last one was so good. But this time it was burnt overcooked too crispy and the wrong topping was added. The girls just didnt seem super attentive so i just assumed it was a bad day. I had a rice bowl before that and was also really good. Seems the quality wasnt as great as the last times I visited. I ordered pizza and wasnt as happy. But i ate it. They may need more help seemed a bit slow. Hope this revised review helps. This place is a nice daytime neighborhood restaurant. Never been here at night but seems it could be a hopping bar atmosphere.

This place is adorable. Walk in the front and it looks small. Step out back and find a very surprising area. I cant rate the food since they dont have any allergen friendly items, but everything else is a great experience. Sorry, 3 stars is the closest to neutral that I can get. Really bad service, food was bland, the staff was unorganized and confused about how to do their jobs.. I waited an hour for food and the food was cold when I got it. The server kept apologizing but did nothing to expedite the process.

The country feel this area is known for. Friendly staff with swift service, and a large patio and live music offering. My husband and I stopped for lunch on Sunday afternoon. First time trying it. I d rate higher but the food is average, unseasoned and just bland tasting overall. We had a patty melt and a bacon burger, and fried pickles (chips). While im sure we ll be back eventually, there s nothing calling me back tomorrow.

We had been waiting to try this restaurant (we just moved to the area and it is close), but it always seemed busy. Being that it was my husbands birthday and he loves chicken fried steak, we gave it a go. Its hard to tell, but you seat yourself, so we did. The booth we picked was broken and extremely uncomfortable to sit. The table was so sticky that everything stuck to it. We placed our order and it was an hour and 15 minutes before we got our food. When we asked about it, we were told it was because the wifi was out. When our food came, my burger was burnt and luke warm. My husbands food was okay but he asked for Tabasco sauce. It never came. When paying the check, the waitress said she would comp my beer, but that didnt happen either. Very disappointed.

The food and drinks were ok. But the building is were its at. This venue is huge! Wasnt very impressed at first but once you walk around it gets really cool! With plenty of pool tables and games, plenty of bars to get drinks from and so much space. Bathrooms were also very clean! And THEN I found the outdoor area!! This place would be excellent to watch a concert at! This place literally has it all and would be perfect for any party needs. The live music was also great! While I wasnt super impressed with the waitress or food, I will absolutely be back to give it another try. I absolutely see the party potential here.

The fried pickles were SO good!! I had the boneless buffalo wings, of buffalo chicken nuggets. Flavor was good, but they were soggy. I asked our server for some extra sauce, brought them home and air fried them. Delicious!! Husband got the Chixken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and beans. The beans werent good, and the potatoes were a little cold, but overall he enjoyed the food. We will definitely be back.

Live music along with great eats as well as adult beverages yet kid friendly with arcade games, billiards, Cornhole, patio seating and two adult beverage gathering areas.(bars) The Live Music and patio is awesome! Vegetarian options: Beer, liquor, lettuce and broccoli Kid-friendliness: Plenty of games including skeet ball and Cornhole for the kiddos.

Our first visit, we were trying to decide between this place and another. We picked this place because the menu implied it was a country cooking type restaurant. When we entered we quickly realized it was more of a bar with food, as opposed to a restaurant. We considered leaving since we had our youngest with us, but figured we would try the food anyway. We were basically just stared at by wait staff when we walked in until finally a girl at the back finished chugging her beer and came and told us to sit wherever. It was like a movie lol. We didn t realize there was a familyish sitting area because we had never been there, as stated before. So we ended up choosing one of the only booths we saw, the one that looked cleanest, which was still dirty, just like the other booth we saw. As was the floor. The cleaner booth we sat at was up against the supply shelves, the table was sticky and had crumbs all over. I m sure our server saw me brushing off the table and seats when she brought us the menus, but didn t bother offering to wipe it down or anything. She was kind and kept our drinks filled, though. So overall a good server. There were lots of people at the bar area tables being extremely loud, including a group of about 10 that were dropping hardcore nasty language the entire time we were eating. I don t mind cursing..but this was talking nasty about women and was so very loud and excessive. Keep in mind this was around 5pm, dinner time. And there were 2 small children at that table! We couldn t even hear each other while talking. Their little kids were crawling up onto the pool table and jumping around. Not a single worker said a word. The food had both good and bad points. The grilled fish and shrimp was absolutely yummy. As was the chicken fried chicken. Extra star for those alone. The green beans were terrible, they tasted old and possibly spoiled. The sweet tea was so bad I sent it back for something else. And the cilantro rice had no flavor. I didn t even want to bother trying the restrooms with how dirty it was here. I just decided to hold it till I got home. Overall, I definitely wish we had chosen to eat at the other place we were considering. Even though this wasn t the kind of place I was expecting, I think if you re looking for a BAR experience with decent food, and you re not planning to bring kiddos, this could be a good place to visit (if you don t mind cleaning your own table).

Once you get past the sewage smell at the entrance, the place is actually really cool. I would rate the majority of the live music an 8 out of 10. The atmosphere is relaxed and the down home feel is welcoming. Food and drinks are reasonably priced but if you want more than one drink, your best bet is going to the bar to get it yourself. The food is good but dont expect your meal to come with sides or condiments (that are on the menu & included with the meal). The wait staff is nice and will do their best to get you anything you ask for but it will most likely take all of your meal to get it. Ive been here at least 20 times over the last year only because of all the positive things that Ive stated in this review but would go more often and spend a lot more money if the negative comments that I made above were addressed. Im sure that Im not the only one to have experienced these issues but possibly (not sure how) the only one to ever have expressed them. Overall: 3 out of 10 and only because of the negative statements made above. I will be back but disappointed and spending less money when I leave, sad to say....

This place use to be one of my favorite spots to eat and drink and hang out .Till 12/15/22 Thursday night ..open mic night .I thought everything was going good ..till my girlfriend started complaining about dizzy and feeling very sick .When I got her to the car she couldnt talk or walk ..took her home had to carry her in the house ..for two hours barley talk shaking really bad ..like something she ate or drink did something to her ...we will not be going back to this place .I tryed to contact the owner ..no respond ..and thats fine ..
