We ordered directly off the menu. Husband got the Chefs Special, crispy shrimp. It says in plain print sauce on the side. When our food arrived is was swimming in sauce. I called and the guy argued that it was written wrong in the menu! How the hell am I supposed to know that?? We wanted sauce on the side! I said we were coming to get a replacement. No I didnt ask, I told him they were going to replace the soggy, not crispy shrimp. I will be looking for a new restaurant on my area because this isnt the first time they have gotten our order wrong.

ONE down from a 5 place to eat. Giving them a star seems generous. Its pretty bad. My photo of pork fried rice from 7 years ago which I posted on Google Maps had over a half million views. Im deleting it today because I dont want to send people somewhere with terrible food. This isnt the same place from 7 years ago. The food is bad. This was once an actual dine-in restaurant with a pretty high standard for quality control which showed some concern for their reputation as a place feeding people in an increasingly competitive dining option list in Rowlett. My last few times to order from this now TAKEOUT ONLY place, wasnt really fit to eat. I would advise to look elsewhere for your Chinese food.

Ive never had anything from this place UNTIL tonight. I asked my daughter to stop to get me some Sugar Donuts on her way home from work tonight. As I was trying not to be picky, I didnt specify a particular place to get them. Now Im regretting not being picky and shes looking pissed that this place screwed us both. I was in the shower thinking of my Sugar Donuts just to get out and find REHEATED BURNT BISCUITS! I took a pic but as you can see (if you try to do a review) theyre not allowing attachments. Anywhozz, the so-called DONUTS are Dark, with NO SUGAR on, around, or under them, and HARD AS HELL! Most yet to sell shyt like this at closing but this was an hour or more Before Closing! I been going to I LOVE CRAWFISH AND PHO (which I Love ) since they opened which is next door to this place. I guess this is my first and last time getting anything from this place. It doesnt matter if its near closing time or not. Id rather be told NO- its too late to order than to be given what shouldve been or was going in the trash! This is what makes the difference between making money and making an honest dollar.

Im not one to complain, but this time I had to. So I called and spoke to the manager, James. I was honest that the two scallops that were in my 18.00 seafood special family, were ok. The 4 shrimp were not chewy but the calamari more than made up for it. The sauce was barely more than water with no seasonings. And they must have forgotten to cook the vegetables... they Were too hard to chew. Sesasame chicken must have got mixed up with the orange chicken sauce. No sweet just sour. and dont even ask about the egg rolls! Chewy oily old chicken pieces in it! Manager James.wanted to argue more than apologize. He informed me that he doesnt refund or replace meals because its too expensive to do that. That just tells me that a lot of people must have asked for a refund $52.00 for bad take out

This place used to be really, really good period however, since the pandemic the place has gone downhill dramethically. I just went there to try them again for the second time around and nothing has improved. The lunch portions are so small Its like getting a kids meal at a restaurant and it cost $25, are they serious! Dont waste your time or money on this establishment! garlic shrimp had No Garlic, 4 shrimp, minimal veggies, so very sad.

I moved here in October of 2023 & initially when I found this place, I thought it was great. Today I ordered through Uber Eats & while I was eating, I found a cockroach in my food. I ve never been so disgusted. & when I called the restaurant to let them know, the guy who answered never once apologized or tried to make it right. He said well we have pest control come out every month so idk how that happened. I guess it just happens . He said if I wanted a refund I could contact Uber Eats but he couldn t do anything about it. I told him I thought he might want to know & you could tell his attitude on the phone was very much so I don t care . There was no sense of embarrassment or shock! You d think being told someone who ends up with a cockroach in their sealed dinner from you would be mortifying. Bad experiences can happen anywhere, but your customer service determines your reputation. I will never eat here again.

My first time visiting, service was good. I had teriyaki salmon with mixed veggies and steamed rice. The sauce is watered down so hardly any flavor. The salmon was a frozen piece that had absolutely no flavor and reminded me of cardboard. No opportunity to experience the atmosphere, there s only to go & delivery orders.

First time trying this place, expected much better from here. I ordered the spicy kung pao with fried rice, but the dish did not have any flavor to it, even when adding soy sauce to it. Lack of flavor, the lack of spice, and the fried rice being completely bland threw me off entirely. Surely not the best place for good chinese food around the area. The eggrolls and potstickers were decent, but the main dish lacked any type of appeal.

The service has taken a downward turn since Covid. They only do take out now. Food is still good in my opinion but the service is what will stop me from going back. I placed my order online and it prompts for a first and last name. I fill in all the info but when I go to pick up my order, it s in my sister s name that was pulled from the caller ID when I input my cell number. The employee gives me a hard time when I go to pick up the order because the names don t match. Why would the website asks to input info when the system will automatically correct it on the backend after you place your order. Then the employee caught an attitude when I didn t leave a tip. Controversial opinion but I only tip on service and since the restaurant is now only take out and I had to drive my own car and use my own gas to pick up my order, why would I tip? Don t recommend placing your order here especially through their website or to be judged.

Ordered orange beef via UBER. When I opened the container it had 4 small slices of beef, 2 broccoli sprouts and the container wasnt even half full. Our other order of Kung pao chicken completely filled its container. Aside from receiving only a half order the orange chicken was horrible. When I called to ask why I only received half an order, the manager insisted the uber driver got into it. I assured him the plastic bag that contained the paper bag with the food was tied in a knot and the the orange chicken was on the bottom with the rest of the order stacked on top. After a brief discussion it was obvious the manager was not concerned or interested in hearing my complaint. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

It was not souplike as it is everywhere else and the quality was low. After I complained to my wife, she opted not to even eat her meal. Be aware of this place, fresh food served is a commodity. They will give you scraps if they can. I frequently order a vegetable fried rice or chicken lettuce wrap, the rice is typically a couple days old and not fresh. The lettuce is shriveled, discolored and not fresh, when you bring it to their attention, they ll tell you it s still lettuce. Sometimes they don t wash it or cut the edges that are not edible, they ll give you the dirt, if you couldn t notice the difference. Which means they re not peeling the head and and serving the fresher, best part of the lettuce.

I absolutely love this Golden Pot! I used to go to the one down in towards Rockwall but this one is leagues better in taste and service! Theyve closed down the dining area for now so its take out only but the food is still as great as ever! Its always hot and ready to eat once I get home and the service is super quick. I really love the Lo Mein with jumbo shrimp Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetation options, substitute meats no problem on almost any meal.

Manager cant be bothered to learn that the delivery service they PAY for is useless and theres no accountability after leaving kids without dinner. Oops, well we didnt deliver so we wont charge you (says Uber after a 2 hour wait and no dinner for the kids) and its not our fault says the restaurant... I used to come here all the time in 2018 and my most recent visit was last year, the food is usually good value for the money. I especially love the mochi ice cream dessert that they have, although one time the mochi ice cream texture felt like it had defrosted and refrozen at some point before it ended up on my plate, but I can forgive that one incident for all the other times that the ice cream was perfect. My partner did complain one time that they didnt have music on, he felt uncomfortable that it was too quiet if no one else was talking because of the lack of music.

1-9-2023 Ordered Mei Fun vege and Mei fun combo. Both were extremely dry and noodles were rubbery. Very little veges. No flavor. Very bland. Also ordered Hibachi chicken with fried rice. Charged $2.00 extra for fried rice that had sparse veges if any and they added soy sauce. Some of the rice was still white. The sauce in the hibachi chicken was watery but did have a hibachi flavor. **WARNING MUST READ*** Legit found a LIVE BEETLE in our food this evening. Legit crawling through our food as my wife went to take her next bite. She spotted it out halfway through the meal, which is even more sickening! When I asked them what they could do for me, they said they would refund me for the ONE plate only, which was only $12.50 out of a $52.87 order! We were too disgusted to even finish the remaining orders and completely lost out on our dinner for our kids and ourselves for the evening. Ending the night eating a frozen pizza instead of the $50+ order I just paid for is far from ideal. We will never be eating in this restaurant again.

I m so surprised to see many bad reviews. My husband and I eat here faithfully. We get the sane thing every time and it s delicious. The gyoza, crab wontons, general tso , combination fried rice and sweet n sour chicken are also delicious. I picked up my order the other day and did realize I had to go inside to get it, I called and asked if they could bring it out since I had my baby sleeping in the car , & she did so politely. Always received good service and tasty food!

When they clearly lost my order they pretended that it was due to delays in the fryer. They then went to the back and came back out and asked for my ticket number and printed it again. I advised that if it was lost that was okay and to return my money. They refused politely and again stated that the fryer was backed up. As I was waiting a call came in with a person advising they had received the wrong order. Another 20 minutes and lo and behold my food was ready. Mistakes happen just own them and don t waste 45 minutes of other s time. I would have been happier had you refunded my money and let me eat a pb and j for the night. My time is also valuable. Great food poor service.

Worst place ever. Do not eat here. We order Panang curry and it was stirred vegetables in water. It was disgusting and nasty. I just looked at it and called them. After calling them, they made me bring food back during this COVID time. Are you kidding me? Even after bringing the food back to show them the order was wrong, I told them to throw it away because I didn t want them to reuse it, but instead I had to insist that he bring the trash can to throw it away! How disturbing is that?! One advice to everyone Do not eat here .

Went here twice. The food is great however the second time we ordered (delivery both times), we did not receive our drink. We were charged 2.50 so I called and let them know. Told them they could take it off my bill if it was to much trouble to bring one. They stated they did give it to me I told them they did not we did not have one..like at all.. and they essentially said that they believed their delivery driver over us and they were not going to do anything. Im really disappointed because not only did I get charged for it and I didnt get a drink but the way he handled the situation was super unprofessional. The food is great but Im really sad I wont be ordering here anymore because that was super annoying. Plus we tiped over 10.00 bucks each time on a 30 dollar order. Regret giving that to the lieing delivery driver.

We recently got food to go from here we wanted to try a new place and we were very disappointed it was really pricey and the food was not even good. I got the teriyaki chicken that looked very boring no flavor and it was drowned in water very liquidity. Fried rice was not all that even the noodles my husband me and the kids left most of our food, and I hate throwing food away but we didn t even want to save it for left overs. That night our stomachs were upset and the next day as well. Never going back here again i do not recommend.

Ordered in the past food was really good. But recently the food has declined in flavor and quality. I understand not everyday is perfect. Buuut! Customer service is NOT the best. Called to let them know that the rice was hard and the noodles were rubbery- really not edible. But everything else was great. The manager was completely unprofessional and never offered to rectify my order. What do you expect from a place that answers the phone with just hello. Have to find another place.

Was starving and this was close to work so decided to give it a try. Have ate Chinese in a few years and used to always get it in the mall. I ordered the mixed veggie Chinese plate with rice and another vegetable. For starters there was no flavor on anything. I don t like to drown my food in sauces, it that s the case, then the cook needs a replacement. The veggies were huge, even the pepper and again had no flavor. Added soy sauce and duck sauce and that still did not make up for lack of flavor. The rice of course has no flavor. I m not sure how the meats taste here and if their sauce is what really makes the dish, but the vegetables should be an easy item to make taste great with rice. I won t try again. I ll stick to genghis grill for my rice/noodle style dishes.

I ve eaten here a handful of times and eaten at every local Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately living near the South Garland area we don t have a lot of great choices for good Chinese cuisine anyways like North Garland/Richardson. The food prices here are higher at Golden Pot possibly due to it being in Rowlett and before I felt the quality was a lot higher and made up for the cost/quantity of food but now when I can finish my protein and over half the container is rather large pieces of random chopped vegetables it s makes the prices higher than the local eatery. The wonton soup has one wonton that looked premade and frozen since it fell apart after being heated. Over sauced dishes with most of the dish is sitting in a half inch deep sauce makes it messy and leak in the take out bags. Taste is 3/5. Kind of wish it would go back to how it was a few years ago. After tonight I think we will retire this restaurant and maybe try a go later.

Great chinese food with a friendly staff. They make a gluten free fried rice that is super tasty. Word to the wise, the spice level on their pad thai cant be adjusted and it is on the spicey side. (Still yummy, just warms you up more than some may like.) Prices are reasonable and portions are large.

Literally the best Asian cuisine I ve ever had anywhere in the US. Even better than when I lived in LA and San Diego. Not only does the food have the best tase. The pricing is very reasonable. The only downside it they have a high server turnover. The good servers don t seem to stay long and the poor servers stick around. But they aren t terrible. The good food and price make up for it. We eat here a few times a month for the past 3 years.

Im trying to help restaurants out with deliveries. But its the only place that makes you stand in the 100 degree heat and wait patiently in the sun with no shade, outside. I rang the door bell and waited 4-5 minutes till i had a response from inside. I ask the young man behind the A/C plastic curtain, if the order was ready for my customer and i gave him the customers name. He made me spell the name several times thru the thick curtain. Then refused to give it to me. I asked have many orders do you have with that unusual name. Now about 10 minutes have gone by arguing and im starting to sweat, cause Im still standing out in the bright hot sun. So, finally after begging for the order, he gave it to me, because I still have to make the delivery. That they dont even have to pay for. They need to have a lot more professional curiously to there delivery drivers. We just trying to help out your business. Not be tortured on pick ups.
