Wheat toast tasted stale, ordered over medium eggs but came out undercooked, asked for a new set of eggs but came out with the whites runny again. Didn t bring breakfast potatoes with my meal, asked the server and said they were coming out and never came .

These places always make me feel like they are doinge a favor. You cant even get a single order correct that I ordered 4 times. I call to rectify the situation and she made me feel very unappreciated. If I spend my money I deseve what I pay for. Prices of everything is going up but the customer service and food presentation is at an all time low.

Review for Lakewood Cafe I am deeply disappointed with my recent visit to Lakewood Cafe. The chicken and waffles I ordered were the driest Ive ever encountered. It was like trying to swallow sand - absolutely inedible. The customer service was equally appalling. The manager Christina was clueless about resolving issues, and the staff were clearly incompetent. The manager even stated she didn t care , when addressing the issue Having been a loyal customer for years, its heartbreaking to witness the rapid decline in both food quality and service at Lakewood Cafe. If you re looking for a better dining experience, I highly recommend Dalrock Diner. Their chicken and waffles are tastier, fresher, and cost half as much. Plus, their customer service is exceptional a solid 10/10. I promise you won t be disappointed!

Food was kind of mediocre. The menu is hard to read with what comes with sides and what doesn t. Each side costs different and the cost of some items on the menu are a little outrageous for what you get. Overall service was okay but not that great. If you have a baby they don t have anything for you to put your car seat on and the booths are very tiny. We ordered the stuffed French toast, breakfast burrito, and the skillet and they were okay taste wise but very bland and not filling whatsoever. Kid-friendliness: Not friendly at all

Everything I ordered and with different friends twice this month was really done well and tasty. First visit, partner and friend order the wraps and they were big enough for two meals! I got the bowl and added grits and the one additional choice. Service was very good, decaf coffee was delicious also. Second trip friend order pancakes and meat bowl. She loved it. I ordered an omelet and it was nice and fluffy, with two extra sides; grits and mixed fruit. Decaf, again not bitter, but smooth. Service again, friendly and well done. Dietary restrictions: They dont have gluten free bread or pancakes, but I substituted grits, and they were done well. I even drizzled a bit of syrup onto them with my coffee cream.

Great breakfast spot will definitely come back for lunch to try out the other side of the menu. Our food was delivered so fast that I barely got done stirring my creamer into my coffee. Waitress was polite and friendly. There is a sign on the wall that says Wood and it is made out of wood. This kept me and my mom giggling all through breakfast. 10/10 would reccomend.

We stopped by for a late breakfast. It was slow. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere inside. The food isnt freshly made, which I expect from breakfast diners, so that was disappointing. You could get the same food at IHOP with, probably, more consistency in the quantity. So, its a little over priced for the food you get, but it serves the area well. Service was friendly but mediocre. I had an omelette with English muffin, which were probably the freshest things on our table. The black tea was from Sams served without a saucer to dispose of the tea bag (I steep for a specific amount of time), so tea lovers will be disappointed. My wife had the french toast, and it didnt seem prepared in-house from scratch, so she didnt finish it. Bacon seemed to be made several hours earlier and not to order. If you wonder what my baseline is for 5 stars, try Yolk.

My favorite breakfast spot in all of DFW and right up the street from me. I usually get one of their omelets and husband always gets the biscuits and gravy. I think about this place almost daily and make myself wait for the weekend usually. I ve tried their French toast but their pancakes are quite literally the most delicious buttery pancakes I ve ever had. What s crazy is you can get them as one of your 2 included sides with the omelet meal. I ve never waited for a table and service is always friendly and quick. For how much you get, I would suggest increasing the prices. It s so affordable and just down right fantastic. Can t believe I ve lived in rowlett for almost 7 years and just went for the first time a little less than a year ago. I need to go try their lunch because it looks amazing. Those pancakes though

Another in town random restaurant to try out and to support our local businesses. Walked in and was seated pretty quick. I had a new waitress Jewels. She was very helpful and attentive during my visit, l like that. I placed my order and tried something totally different for breakfast. I ordered a Gyro Omelet with hash browns and toast. The omelet was very good, the tzatziki seemed off not creamy, not like l have had at other places. The hash browns were ok. Something about the thick toast and flavor made me order a second order. The service was wonderful, and everything was served with a smile all the way through even with the cashier at the door. All in all, I would come back again, when I am on this side of my city. Should be 4 1/2 stars for food. But had to be honest on review.

Positive Feedback for Lakewood Cafe, Rowlett TX! Hey everyone! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lakewood Cafe in Rowlett, TX, and I wanted to share my thoughts on this cozy little spot. Overall, my experience was quite positive, with some standout aspects that Id like to highlight. First and foremost, lets talk about the food. Lakewood Cafe serves up some seriously warm and delicious dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving. In fact, did you know that 9 out of 10 customers rave about the mouthwatering breakfast options and hearty lunch specials? The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in their preparation truly shines through in every dish. So, if youre looking for a place that serves up some comforting and tasty food, Lakewood Cafe is definitely worth a visit! Another aspect that impressed me was their coffee refills. As a coffee lover, I appreciate a place that keeps my cup full. Lakewood Cafe definitely understands the importance of a good cup of joe, and their attentive staff ensured that my coffee was always topped up. In fact, 8 out of 10 customers agree that Lakewood Cafe offers prompt and generous coffee refills. Its the little things like this that make a dining experience even more enjoyable. Now, while my visit was mostly positive, I do feel its important to address a couple of areas where Lakewood Cafe could improve. Firstly, I noticed a lack of interaction with customers. While the staff was friendly and efficient, I would have appreciated a bit more engagement and warmth. A warm smile or a friendly chat can go a long way in making customers feel welcome and valued. To improve skills and boost engagement, Lakewood Cafe could consider investing in customer communication training. Statistics show that businesses that invest in customer communication training experience a 20% increase in customer satisfaction and a 15% boost in customer loyalty. Additionally, I couldnt help but notice a lack of diversity and inclusion among the employees. Its disheartening to see that there are no African American staff members, especially considering the vibrant African American community in the neighborhood. Embracing diversity and ensuring equal opportunities for all is crucial in todays world, and I believe Lakewood Cafe could benefit from fostering a more inclusive environment. By seeking professional help or reaching out to consulting services like Chop Cost Consulting, Lakewood Cafe can gain valuable insights and strategies to promote diversity and inclusion within their team. Studies have shown that companies with diverse teams are 35% more likely to outperform their competitors. Despite these areas for improvement, I still believe that Lakewood Cafe has a lot to offer. The positive aspects, such as their delicious food and coffee refills, definitely outweigh the negatives. So, if youre in the Rowlett area and looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a warm meal, give Lakewood Cafe a try. Lets hope they take these suggestions to heart and continue to grow and improve as a welcoming and inclusive establishment. #LakewoodCafe #RowlettTX #PositiveFeedback #DeliciousFood #CoffeeLovers

We had lots of trouble at this restaurant. The pancakes were delicious but the hash browns were cold, the bacon was cold, the sausage was barely warm and they tried to make it right but failed each time. We should have been comped the meal because we didnt and couldnt eat it but instead the manager forced us to pay for side pricing on the pancakes, trying to slip in the price of hash browns without telling us which we caught and askd her to delete from our bill. Not two blocks away is a wonderful restaurant which is much better called Da-lsomething. Go there not here. No kidding.

I had a Denver omelet with hash browns and buttermilk pancakes. It was a decently sized meal and pretty fair price in my opinion. Was quick to be served and overall great experience. I didnt really notice any cons.

Absolutely amazing! Arrived at a busy time was told 15-20 minute wait, reasonable considering time of day, but were seated in about 5 minutes!! Food was delicious, our waitress was very sweet and attentive, food was fast to arrive and perfect temperature. Very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back frequently, found another go-to breakfast place!

Not a great experience at all, after waiting for our food for 30+ minutes our server comes back to tell us he forgot our order. We placed our order again, 10-15 minutes later and we got our food. Food itself was pretty good but we never saw our server again. Refills not checked, never checked on to see how the meal was. Would not return based on the fact of the service, a quick breakfast turned into more than an hour.

Lakewood Cafe is in a strip mall. It serves breakfast and lunch. It is kid-friendly and very clean. On my first visit here, I ordered a chicken salad croissant. The food was delicious. The employees were friendly and the service prompt. The server brought me a Dr Pepper refill long before my first one was gone. Ill definitely be coming back!

This was my 3rd time ordering chicken fried steak and it was very overcooked this time and tasted bitter from the burnt parts. Tried smothering it with gravy bc I hate complaining but the bitterness was still overwhelming. I told the server but he didn t do anything to try to fix it. We asked for it to be replaced and got charged double. Pretty disappointed bc I enjoy eating there for breakfast but don t know if I ll return.

I only live a hop, skip, and jump away from Lakewood Cafe, but never tried it until I had family visiting. The food was delicious (I had the classic crepes) and prices were reasonable. We were sat right away and treated well by the staff. I noticed they have a reuben sandwich on their menu. I now know where Ill head the next time Im really craving one. Definitely will be back again soon.

Update Jan 13, 2022 Lunch & Dinner is back at Lakewood Cafe in Rowlett, TX! I came here for breakfast, but ended up with a fantastic Mediterranean Salad! Whoever procures the produce here always gets the best quality I have seen, anywhere! Everything was perfect. Maybe offer some yellow peppers on the side. I love pepperroncini, but they are difficult to get fresh. People dont like them since they never had a good fresh pepperoncini. But, you can fake it with little yellow peppers. I digress... waitstaff is excellent here. Of course, serving great food to hungry people is a winner. They have a good time doing it. This is how all restaurants should be run. The other factor is the kitchen. These guys know how to cook, and make every order with care. This is a nice, clean facility, just wish it was bigger. On the weekends, it is packed with locals, and families. The mall owner should add a front porch addition here. Parking lot is big enough. ====================== Update Dec 14, 2021 Another great meal at this humble little cafe in Rowlett, Texas. Always clean, staff is pleasant and confident, they actually like their work, which is serving quality food. What could ever go wrong? Good meals = good tips. Quality of food & service = success! Clean & shiny silverware is usually a sign of a proud business. Today: Eggs Benedict Florentine, this was very good, on level with the big hotel restaurants. Generous serving, light flavor of fresh spinach, plenty of sauce. Option of Grits or Hash Browns. ( a side of Canadian Bacon would be perfect! ). I also ordered Blueberry pancakes, 3 stack, berries inside, and on top. Again, the quality of the fruit here is beyond most other restaurants. Tip: Weekends are packed crazy here, they need to expand this floorplan. Until then, get here at opening, or try a weekday. Lunch is great here too, a menu with big variety of entreés. ===================== Update May 26, 2021 Finally back at Lakewood Café, still a popular place. Mask suggested, a lot of Senior Citizens eat here, lets protect them! I sat at a booth, a new waitress was learning the routine here, pleasant & patient. Me too, but hungry! 1. Wild Mushroom & Swiss Cheese 3 egg omelette, with hash browns ( there are 4 side options ) was loaded with mushrooms. A little bit dry, maybe a little cream of mushroom soup would help? 2. Very Berry Crepe ( 1, 2, or 3 crepes option ) I chose just 1. Well, I know these guys can cook, but this was a skinny pancake. Very nice presentation. Maybe try buckwheat crepes? Still a great breakfast, brunch & lunch sit-down eatery. Clean, mellow ambiance. ======================== A classic American Breakfast & Brunch eatery serving comfort food & healthy options too! Open 7 days each week, 6AM to 3PM in a quiet unassuming business center along HWY 66 in Rowlett, TX. Nice relaxing earthtone colors, seating for 100 at tables & booths for 4. Menu has Big variety of food! Gourmet salads, fresh fruit, Lo-Cal wraps too. I started with Baked Potato soup, it was awesome. The Cuban sandwich...was a Texas variation. Cuba, TX is a ghost town now.... down by Nueces River, not source of this classic Hamwich. Cuban exiles brought it to Miami. The Cuban sandwich is made with ham, fatty roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, on Cuban bread ( like french baguette ) add some pepperroncini peppers too! This Rowlett version was grilled chicken breast, ham, swiss, chipotle mayo, pickles, on ciabatta. Lean & mean, quality ingredients........ ....it just lacked the fat & caramelization of pork bouncing off pickles & yellow mustard on soft baguette bread. A true Havana/Miami cuban sandwich makes you Drool before, during and after! Nuff said! Staff was pleasant & helpful, the manager said he was from Tombstone, AZ ( will we see Ropa Vieja on the menu? ) Overall, a nice place to Sit Down & enjoy a hearty breakfast or lunch!
