Smell disgusting a very strong odor. The food wasn t fresh. The bread like a rock, no customers and 3 employees. Spider webs everywhere, floor dirty. At least the customer service was ok. But I will never return to this place. A mess everywhere.

This Dickeys is disgustingly gross now! This place use to be good. The inside looks dirty and so do the workers almost like they re homeless. Not friendly at all. Our brisket sandwiches were dry and had a lot of hard pieces like it was from the night before and the bread was very hard definitely old. Fries were soggy and very oily. We didn t eat our food and just tossed it. $30 wasted!!!!

This Dickeys has really fallen off. The brisket was dryer than most. The tortilla on the brisket taco was hard and burnt. The brisket was dry and I bought a pound of brisket and it was dry. They had equipment pilled up around the door and the staff was Luke warm. I wont be going back!

Ive lived in Rowlett for 6 years and come here many times but I wont be back. The food quality has steadily declined. The meat is dry. The sides are subpar. The okra is burned half the time. The manager uses the front booth as his office and it looks like a homeless person is camping out there. My last to-go order was almost inedible. And unlike other Dickies locations, this one doesnt let you get your own sauce or pickles. They packaged up 4 pickle slices and a tablespoon of sauce. When I asked for more, they wanted something like $1 more for barely any sauce. And as fry as that meat was, it needed sauce just to reconstitute it. The Rockwall location is way better. I wont be ordering from Rowlett Dickies ever again.

I ordered Holiday Turkey that was supposed to be cajun seasoned. It was my fault for honestly not reading fine print as I thought I was ordering a cajun fried Turkey. It was neither, once I read the receipt it showed cajun seasoned. It had absolutely no seasoning. I could have bought at least 3 Turkeys for the price I paid for that one. The bare minimum they could have done was at minimum season it. Nope! I will take my business elsewhere.

The food has been on a steady decline since I moved to Rowlett a few years ago. I was used to going to a location im Dallas that was great but no such luck with this location .this doesnt taste like real BBQ. My brisket was mushy and the ribs were ok but you can tell its not cooked like real BBQ. Zero flavor and they give you a tiny cup of BBQ sauce on a two meat plate. I really hate i wasted 18 dollars. The mac is ok but I never really expect much out of restaurant mac and the fried okra was the best thing that I ordered.

GROSS!!!!!! The food, the location. I ordered a turkey plate and 2 sides. What they gave me was some spongey something that was not turkey. The sides were to say the least, Yuck! I was the only customer in the place it was filthy and there were 2 employees who were doing absolutely nothing to make the place look or smell better. I will never go to this Dickeys again. I really dislike giving negative reviews, but I hope this can help them improve. The meat was so dry! And I am sure they noticed this and still served. I asked my son how was your food, he is 16, he said dry, I said mine as well. The meat was not good and 36.00 for 2 people to not enjoy is not ok. I would pay 60 to 80 for 2 if it was right! I work In Rhome TX, and we catered in Dickeys, and it was amazing. But I guess it depends on location. Because I will not be back here. I really hope they improve and take my review into consideration

We are at a school and have ordered here several times, at least 3, and EVERY time the food is horrible! We kept coming back thinking it was just a bad day but 3 times! Ordered picnic platter for 3 people and it came in a single serve plate with small amount of meat. Not even enough to feed one person let alone 3. Take your money else where. Idk if theyre under new management or what but the service and quality of food here blows now. It wasnt always this way. Looking at other negative reviews and the managers response to grievances speaks for itself. Im all for defending your employees because Ive worked the service industry plenty and customers can be entitled pieces of fecal matter but this dude lacks any sort of decorim or accountability. I dont typically write reviews but my beans literally smelled like a used maxi pad sitting in the hot sun. Ive never smelled a maxi pad in the hot sun before but Id imagine the beans were comparable. It turned me off so much I didnt want the rest of the food. Ironically, after the maxi pad beans I saw a post about this location. Apparently he doesnt pay his employees? Their was a name error preventing one of his teenaged employees from cashing their 1st check. He flat out ignored the girl and her parents reaching out to him and she was never paid. I cant vouch for that incident but management doesnt seem very pleasant so I wouldnt be surprised if it was true. For what its worth, Ill try my luck at Cooleys BBQ in South Dallas. I might have to dodge a few bullets on the way in but at least the customer service at Cooleys is amazing and the food is worth the price. Plus no maxi pad beans there lol. Those beans befuddled me. Never smelled anything like it. Im traumatized. If I could sue for emotional distress, I would.

When I called the store the person who answered said he was the manager. When I explained what happened he said Im not dealing with this 7 minutes before we close and hanging up on me. I usually LOVE going to Dickeys but this location messed up twice. After the 1st time I dismissed the experience as maybe just them having a bad day. After giving them a second chance and receiving my food last night, I made the decision to never return. The sliced brisket was a very light brown color, bland and chewy. I have NEVER seen a Dickeys restaurants brisket look that way! The creamed spinach also seemed old or overcooked. I ordered a medium size and ended up throwing it away. I thought perhaps my food was subpar because I ordered so late on a Saturday night, but even that is not an excuse for serving a customer inedible food. I hope this restaurant is able to improve their food quality soon.

Ate here for lunch and ordered the family picnic off the menu. It came with 3 small ribs and a hand full sausage. Supposed to be able to feed 4 people for 32.00 dollars, but just enough food for a two meat plate. The ribs and the sausage was not fresh taste like they were warm up in the microwave. Me and my boyfriend went to this location cause I was craving dickeys sausage yesterday. Mind you I m 6 months pregnant. We received our food no complaint there staff was friendly. I start eating my food and notice a hair in my sausage a black straight short hair. I have blonde hair and my boyfriend has curly black hair so no way it was ours. If that wasn t enough we ended up getting food poisoning, which can be harmful to my child inside me. In all the times we have gone to different dickeys locations we have never gotten sick from their food. The pain I felt from the food poisoning was so agonizing that I still felt it when I woke up the next day.(today)

This Dickeys location is always my favorite. I will travel past 2 other Dickeys to come here - its the owner, the staff, the quality of the food, all of it. They are just great here! Its a rather small Dickeys, maybe only 20 tables or so, so dont plan on having a large party in their dining room - but if it is just dinner for you and the fam, I would recommend a visit. Also, they are the GREATEST for cook and serve holiday meals. I order from them every Thanksgiving and Christmas because my family loves the food that much, and I love how coordinated and on top of things they are. Great location!

This Dickeys location is proof positive that they are not all created equal. Very old, rundown, dirty place. Like stepping back in time to the 1970s. It even has a wagon wheel chandelier. Lots of unused equipment stacked around the restaurant & all of it in need of cleaning. The food is NOT on display as it always is in other Dickeys locations. Only things visible to customers are some of the different meats in & around the ovens. Placed an order for my grandson after waiting 10 minutes for the customer in front of me to be served by the head guy (dark hair & mustache) while two other workers were each seated in booths watching TV. When I started to place my own order, the mustache man turned from me as I was midsentence in my order and asked my husband to take his order. Wow! I wasnt allowed to even place mine! When another, younger worker finally strolled behind the register counter to ring me up, I had to explain 3 times to him that my grandsons meal & my husbands meal were on the same ticket. I commented that I would have liked to have been allowed to place an order as well but mustache man blew me off. The younger man offered to add my food choice to the order, but by then I was fed up & not interested in giving them more money. The turkey was dry, my husband ordered lean beef brisket & got fatty chopped brisket. Thank goodness we live across town where the local Dickeys is super clean and the food is fresh & good. Amazingly they had lots of customers which tells me Rowlett and Rockwall folks do not know what truly good barbecue is. Skip this place...youll be glad you did!

When I entered right away I felt a very quite, cold and unwelcoming feeling. It s hard to leave this review but I was just disappointed in the overall experience. I ordered the loaded potato. I got home and called to ask where the butter and sour cream were I was told it was buried under the cheese if there was any it was not much it had very little meat very small amount of ingredients. Asked for pickles was given 5 not in a container like normal and acted like it was inconvenient. I had been to this location before the night staff always were up beat and that s what makes you feel welcomed. Unfortunately the afternoon I went it felt like they just were not happy to help me. Didn t speak a word or smile. I even ask why they were so quite trying to make conversation but still no smile or attempt to create a good environment. First time I have felt so unwelcome anywhere. I really always give every one a chance. I left very sad that this visit will cause me to not return.

Just wow, my husband and I usually go into this location but we ve been eating from home lately. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt because usually they forget my husbands onions and pickles for his sandwich when we order delivery, big whoop. The last time before this I ordered a 2 meat plate and only got enough meat that could ve been for a 1 meat plate. This time was the final straw, the core zero was flat and the brisket was nearly all burnt and dry. Half of the meat was so hard and tough that it was inedible. Shocked and grossed out. I will never return to this location. It looks like someone is living there. There were Pringles, crackers and stuff in the hallway. The staff made themselves too comfortable as well. Our food was cold! The meat tasted boiled not smoked and they were out of peach cobbler and apple cobbler! No sweet tea. Just really surprised at this location. Our food was cold because they prepared our plate and then had issues with another order, bagged and to go order and when it was our turn the meat had gone cold. Staff looked like teens that just lived there and did not know what they were doing. Beware!

Dont waste your money. I used to order from the location right by my house but it since been has shut down, so I ordered delivery from here. What a waste of $30!! Youre telling me I spend that kind of money for 6 very small slices of sausage???? Ridiculous!! Ill never order from here again, Ill spend my money elsewhere and get better portion sizes!

I came to Dickeys BBQ for a late lunch after researching a nearby Assisted Living facility for a relative in need. This Dickeys had good smoked sausage, sliced beef potato salad, BBQ beans, toasted buttered bread and good iced Tea. Service was prompt, the facility was clean, parking was ample and access to and from this Dickeys wasnt a problem. If you have a want for some good old school BBQ, come to Dickeys! You will not be disappointed.

I hired dislocation for a wonderful event these people had unprofessional service at their catering they lied to you about what you order and how many pounds of meat you supposed to have if you do business with this particular area of barbecue get it all in writing we got screwed on our order how does a liar to our face and refuse to compensate the difference of what we paid theyre friendly and Charming until they get your money in their hands and then everything goes to s*** I would never ever recommend this particular barbecue place to nobody I worship the friends that I have and I wouldnt want to ruin it by bad service and a bunch of crooks

Ive been at other Dickeys location and this one definitely needs some work. The cashier person was the only one showing customer service. Since the moment we arrived we where not greeted Nor Hi! How may i help you? Or what would you like today? All of my combos where serve with frys but they all look as they where dip in oil for 2 minutes and out !! Yes my frys where pale white .My sandwich meat look as it been out for a while. As i was sitting there i couldnt help looking over and look at other plates to see if it was just my food that look distasteful. And everyone else plates look delicious and even there frys look golden crispy . At this point i was upset and angry because Im now certain they purposely did it. And It might of just been because the color on my skin. I dont want my money back i just want everyone to know the humiliation i received from this location.

I attempted to eat here for dinner at 5:30pm on a Sunday and they were sold out of ribs! I was told that they would have some ribs ready in 30 minutes, so I waited. When I returned they told me they wouldnt have any ribs for the rest of the night. I ordered the brisket but noticed Nick threw it into the container so the meal was a complete mess. After an hour of waiting, I asked for a refund and went somewhere else. Dont waste your time at Dickies! What respectable barbecue pit doesnt have rubs at dinner time. Also, while I was waiting, I noticed the food prep area was a mess.
