Their shrimp quesadilla stank of fish. It was really smelly and fresh seafood doesnt do that. The waitress didnt tell us of the specials of the day but we noticed another waitress telling our neighbors about the specials. The garlic bread smelled and tasted like old oil. Thank God the chocolate mousse cake was amazing otherwise this would be a 1 star review. The pasta entrees were ok, not great because again one of the seafood pastas which had shrimp was smelly.

Just walked in to LA Cocina a restaurant that we have enjoyed Many times. Came in at 2:00, with a advertised closing at 2:30 for lunch. The waitress seated us an first thing she said was I just want to tell you we are closing at 2:30 . I asked her what were we supposed to do with that info, do we only have 30 minutes to eat? She said no, and I ask why are you saying that. She had no answer other than to say she didnt mean to offend us. I told her I didnt like the idea of being rushed and we would eat somewhere else. So we left. Truly disappointed in the way we were treated.

Horrible experience again with the son. I told him chips and salsa as well as chips and queso and he said he didnt hear the chips and salsa. I get home and no chips and salsa. I return as my family is now eating without me at the house and I tell him no salsa. He says I tried to tell you. What the hell did he try to tell me. He then says well let ring up another ticket. So wait, your now going to charge me for your mistake. I left my wallet at the house as when I left I left mad and I told him just add it to my next order as I frequently visit. He said no my Dad would be mad. Poor excuse. He should have said no problem, my bad. I will never go back. The kids who are the waiter and waitresss just act like they dont want to be there. If not for the customers your place would not exist. Have the guts and tell your parents you dont want to work there.

Nice little cozy Mexican and Italian fusion place we recently discovered in the Round rock area . Ambiance was very pretty with a Mexican theme going on . The food had two sections - one Italian based and the other was Mexican based . We ordered one on each side - pollo ala chipotle and pollo con pasta (marinara based). The Mexican chipotle chicken was exceptional with tender cooked chicken and salsa was amazing and one of the most authentic ones we have tasted in Texas! The pollo con pasta was a bit disappointing because the chicken had a raw smell and pasta okay . Would not order that dish again and can try the white sauce based dishes next time . They had both wine and cocktails which worked for our pairing of dishes . One of the strongest margaritas we have tasted ! Our waitress was acting a bit non responsive initially but later was communicative . Would return here for the Mexican dishes, ambiance and cocktails !

Awesome gem of a restaurant. I love that they have a skilled chef in both Italian food and Mexican food. My eggplant Parm was so good and full of flavor. It was piping hot, but so worth burning my tongue on! The eggplant wasnt really fried so much as baked and drizzled with a very nice helping of a delicious tomato garlic sauce. The noodles were also quite tasty. The restaurant staff were nice and sweet!

How did we not know this was here?!! A friend recommended it and we decided to give it a try. I m often skeptical of restaurants saying they do two different foods well, but La Cocina has it down! We ve been multiple times since our first visit and have gone back 3 more times with new people. The enchiladas verde I had were the best I ve ever had. My husband had lasagna that he said was the best, too. Fettuccine Alfredo and pasta Carbonera, Guisada Puerco all fabulous!! I didn t love the garlic bread but my husband did. And the chips and salsa were perfect! I loved the roasted flavor of the salsa. I love that it s a small, intimate, neighborhood restaurant with a bar that is well stocked. The service has been stellar every time. We intend to go back until we ve tried everything on the menu . The only thing I can really complain about has nothing to do with La Cocina or their food. It is the parking lot; tiny spaces and holes in the asphalt. But don t let that keep you away. You ll be missing out!!

The ultimate hole in the wall this place is tucked away in the corner of a small trip center in old Round Rock. Very nice inside, great bar with excellent Bloody Mary s. Mole is amazing. Al Pastor quesadilla was superb and their enchiladas verdes are the best you ll find anywhere. This is some of the best quality Mexican Food you ll ever eat no joke.

Was really excited to try this place. But as a Hispanic man, this place just misses the target. Part of their menu has Italian options. But when I ordered tacos and enchiladas, they both tasted extremely Italian. As if they just cook all their meat and sauces for Italian dishes. And stuck em into Mexican dishes. As a Hispanic, this place has misleadingly high reviews for the food. I got a chipotle burrito or chimichanga, and it was not good. The appetizer I got was also exceptionally small. One time, I stopped by for a Sunday lunch - they were closed. Another time, I stopped by for an early dinner - they were closed. Today I stopped by for a Saturday lunch - they were closed. I am not going to stop by ever again. If you are a business to be in business, then I suggest you open up so customers can come by. My friend and I went here for the first time tonight. The food was very good, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere is nice and quiet and calming. After driving all the way home, I realized my wallet must have fallen out of my purse there. I called, talked to the nicest woman, and they waited for me to come get my wallet, despite the restaurant being closed! Ive been coming here for years, and I love it a fabulous family-owned Mexican & Italian restaurant. Dont let the location throw you off; this place has excellent food and service. My second time in. Signs up advising to be patient due to short staffing. Arrived 7 pm Saturday and was seated right away. Service is a tad slow, but totally ok with their staffing. No rush, nice relacing place to have a quiet dinner. Food has been stellar both visits. I keep ordering a mix of Mexicanand Italian apps for my meal. Carnitas quesadilla is awesome as is the shrimp cocktail a la Mexicana. Their wilted spinachvsalad rules! I also love their Italian enchilada (canoli). Wifw has been pleased with their fetuccini alfredo and tortellini alfredo (she loves alfredo). This place puts out awesome food. It alsi solves the problem that often arises when I want Mexican and wife wants Italian.

Found this place several years ago, while filling my car up at the adjacent 7-11! Wasnt sure what to expect at first, but was blown away by the chefs take on both Mexican and Italian classics. Great portions, excellent flavor and wonderful service. While the main dishes are awesome, I must confess that my go to is the super nachos and caldo. Dont miss this little dinner in Round Rock. I ordered Italian and well, it was absolutely delicious!!! My friends ordered Mexican food and we all just enjoyed it. Good job chef!!! Friendly staff and beautifully decorated restaurant.

Very nice dining establishment! For a hole in the wall, the decor makes you feel like your in another place. Not fancy by any means, but elegant in its own way. The food is wonderful and here is the kicker. Dont let the name La Cocina fool you. You will be surprised to know they have an equally divided menu of TexMex and Italian food! I have had both cuisines and they are both fantastic! Do yourself a favor and give this place a try! You will be glad you did!

Small but warm atmosphere, this establishment had excellent service and took care of us and our 3 year old with great care. The food was great, the drinks were excellent and we had a wonderful waitress. My husband even complimented the chef directly for his onion salsa.

From the outside it looked more like a chinese place but it turned out a very nice and cozy Mexican Restaurant with a beautiful ambiance. The food was freshly cooked and VERY delicioso. Btw., it is a Mexican/Italian place and i could not find anything wrong with that. Oh, and the Margaritas and Martinis were very tasty, too.

Dinner here on 6/26/20 with family. Easy access and parking. Staff are very friendly. All the entrees sounded appetizing by description. Description did not do them justice. Lasagna was stacked high with a generous amount of both cheese and sauce. Wife had cheese enchiladas with verde sauce. She cleaned her plate. I had the tortellini and sausage special. A great portion of both in a rich creamy sauce, brought to the table piping hot. Just the aroma was delicious. I dont get to Round Rock often, but will return here at the next opportunity.

I did not have a great first experience as the wait was very long and I did not feel acknowledged, but I am glad that we gave this family owned restaurant a second chance. This restaurant has some of the best Italian food that you can find in Austin, I recommend to try their dinner specials. They also have a Mexican food menu which is very good. This is now one of our go to places for when we have a crave for a homemade dish.
