If youre lucky to call Taylor Tomanka your lawyer, youll benefit from her patience and kindness. But dont mistake that for passiveness. She is a wealth of knowledge who is always on top of it. When the oppositions lawyer was uncooperative, she pushed on to make sure we get things on our term. Shes always punctual and took my concerns and many (many!) questions seriously. She always looked out for me. Im so lucky to have her in my corner. Im already sending all of my loved ones her way.

I needed an emergency attorney following a previous firm engaging in negligence and highly unethical behavior, and pending court date for temporary orders. My brother researched on my behalf and came across a profile for Fergus & Tomanka. We met with Martin Fergus in July 2022. Martin has worked with me on an usually complex child custody case; he is forthright, highly ethical and offers a realistic outlook based upon case evidence and historical tendencies of the court. He does not sell you on any particular outcome and allows the space for someone to come to their own decisions regarding proceedings. Martin wrote up a meticulously detailed, custom possession order that took into consideration numerous, subtle protections that I would never have thought to ask for. He is extremely responsive and returns emails and calls in a timely manner. There were areas of subspecialty that emerged in my case at later dates, and Martin took the time to research legal acts relevant to changes that fall outside the scope of family law. He is steadfast in his professionalism and respectful toward all. He always gives more than he is asked. We cant thank this law firm enough, Martin worked many hours. He drove and made appearances during covid. Martin got the best possible outcome for my husband being the father of the kids in the suit. Taylor is our lawyer of choice and I give her name out with a recommendation when anyone is looking for help. She is so full of heart and knowledge, so dont let her youth fool you into missing having the best in your corner. She really cares about her clients, especially the kids involved. We used her for our own modification and my sister also used Taylor in her extremely difficult multi nation modification. If Taylor cannot figure it out and help you, then no other lawyer would get you past their door. She really went above and beyond with both cases. She made sure we knew what steps were needed, where we were in the process, and really kept us all calm and together when it seemed impossible to climb the hill in family court. For all our needs, we will continue to use Taylor and I recommend everyone do the same. Billing was also never a concern. Every dime was clearly marked and accounted for. Im currently board chair of Day Nursery of Abilene. We had a time when we needed an attorney group that could help out in our time of need. Martin Fergus represented my wife and I in court a couple years ago in a civil suit. We had used a different attorney in the months leading up to the trial, but lost confidence in our first attorney. Martin took our case at a great disadvantage: he hadn t had the luxury of knowing our case from the beginning, witnessing the first couple hearings, building rapport with the judge, etc. Martin jumped on the case in a most impressive manner. He worked late nights and weekends to catch up on all the details, was very open with me on communicating his strategy and research, and built up a very strong case on short notice. The 2-day trial was stressful but Martin handled it extremely well. The judge decided in our favor, and in such a way that favored us as much as legally possible. Even after we won, Martin stayed in touch to see how the results had worked for us, and to ensure the judge s decision (affecting several families around us as well) was being carried out. I couldn t be happier with Martin s work. Should I find myself in another situation like this, I ll certainly be calling Martin first.
