# Employees not wearing masks but serving food and circulating amongst guests. Everyone knows vaccinated people can spread covid. No onsite parking... Parking on dirt lot couple blocks away. Poor ventilation. Self serve food line was like army chow hall ... The food just borderline decent. Dessert was pretty tasty BUT i wouldnt pay to rent this facility. Sad :(

The Grove is truly a hidden gem, steps away from downtown Round Rock right on Brushy Creek. We had a very specific picture of what we wanted in a venue and as soon as we saw The Grove we knew it was it - modern, clean, lots of natural light inside and plenty of outdoor space. The space is beautiful, but Kathy was another big reason we decided to book with The Grove - she was just incredible to work with - accommodating, knowledgeable, detail oriented and patient. Even after our plans changed...then changed again :) She was super detail oriented and helped us through various elements of planning - like picking a good dates considering many of our guests were travelling from out of town - ie: flights, hotels, transportation, vendors are harder to find and more expensive with SXSW, F1 etc. She showed us photos from weddings from different seasons so we could picture what the trees and creek would look like to make sure it met our expectations - details we would not have otherwise considered but are so glad she did :) These are just two examples of the thought and care that Kathy put into helping us plan our big day, almost as if it was her own. If you are on the fence, book with confidence, Kathy will go above and beyond to make your day what you want it to be!

Our original plan was for 170 guests, but covid hit, and we had to postpone twice! We downsized to 65 people, and The Grove was still perfect as ever. Kathy is a caring owner, and the venue is well-kept and served as a beautiful back drop for our wedding. It has the right mix of modern industrial and hints of hill country greens with gorgeous oak trees. Even with no leaves for our winter wedding in February, the contrast with my florals and Brushy Creek in the back all came together and transport you into another world. The Grove is one of the hidden gem s of Round Rock. I m forever grateful for the professionalism and care of their staff and am so lucky to have gotten married here!

We chose The Grove on Brushy Creek for our February wedding. We loved the indoor/outdoor venue and the mid-century modern vibe. I think what sold us was when we went on our tour and Kathy, the wonderful owner, showed us all of her brides doing sunset ceremonies overlooking Brushy Creek. It is a beautiful view! Our wedding happened at the tail end of the Texas snow storms, so we did have to switch to the indoor backup plan. Kathy made sure we were updated all week and knew what the new ceremony space would look like. She has such an eye for interior design and helped put together the space to fit my vision. We were even able to have one of the doors up with the snow in the background for photos, so dreamy! Kathy and her husband are so kind and hardworking (he was shoveling snow himself so that our guests would have a walking path!) and I appreciate all of their efforts in making our day so special!

This place is AWESOME!!! The team and scenery are a plus, but the way they work multiplies the amount of perfect customer service that you will receive! We are glad that we found this Gem in Round Rock, Texas! With covid, we were afraid to continue our wedding plans but in the end, decided to go with it. We are so happy to have found a venue that had everything in one place, from the ceremony site to the reception hall. The views are stunning and were perfect for our intimate wedding. The amazing team at the Grove helped us throughout the whole process, from finding vendors (i.e., caterer, photographers, videographers, DJ service, cake vendors, and officiant services) to working with our budget to create a wedding we will remember forever. If you are looking for a venue with an immaculate setting with perfect backdrops for great pictures, that is also flexible with your vision and budget, look no further! Rain, covid, or weather thats cold, you can still have your dream wedding at the Grove. Kathy and Rebecca are the most wonderful people with amazing hearts, and they were there to help emotionally, financially, and mentally throughout the whole process! We are patiently waiting for our pictures and video and will post one here! Continue to stay safe and practice social distancing as you plan your wedding with the amazing team at the Grove! With great thanks, Shida and LoShern

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! This was the perfect venue for our wedding. We had our ceremony on the outside terrace area where there is a beautiful river in the background along with the fall colors of the trees, it was magical. Kathy and her team are amazing, and they helped us throughout the planning process and answered all the questions I had until the day of. Trust me, I had a lot of questions, and emailed/texted them back and forth so many times. Everyone was very professional, nice, and easy to talk to. The day of my wedding could not have been more perfect. Rebecca took great care of us. Right after the ceremony, she made sure we had some food and drinks before the reception started. My husband and I had the best day of our lives, and we got so much great feedback from our guests. I wish we could relive the day one more time. Just want to say a big thank you to The Grove on Brushy Creek (especially Kathy) for making our wedding perfect.

Our wedding at The Grove was everything my husband and I could have hoped for! It was the ONLY venue I checked out bc I knew right away it had everything we wanted/needed! Kathy was amazing and so receptive to questions from both me and my day of coordinator! Our guests couldnt stop praising the amazing venue with its indoor/outdoor spaces. Our guests loved taking dancing breaks out on the covered patio and stone steps, and the main deck with the trees made for wonderful pictures, as did the creekside. <3 We paid for uplighting from our DJ to help create a more party-vibe inside and it definitely worked! We had an absolute blast as did all of our guests. Kathy also (amazingly) offered a few of her own items for us to use including tea-candle holders to use as center pieces, the arbor for the altar on the deck, and a GORGEOUS cake table: free of charge. If you are searching for a modern/yet rustic-urban-vibe venue, do yourself a favor and check out The Grove on Brushy Creek!

Its one of the most beautiful venues in the Hill Country! The Grove is a one-of-a-kind venue because its located on the river and has a stunning back deck that is perfect for weddings and events. Plus the owners are really great people who truly care about their clients and community. They go out of their way to make sure the events held at The Grove go smoothly and perfectly for each client. We were the second wedding at the Grove. Because it is a new venue, we did have to be flexible with change. Kathy was accommodating of some of our requests, just as we were of hers. While I personally had limited contact with her the day of our wedding (because I was getting ready and what not), I feel bad for the friends and family that did. The day after our wedding I was made aware of how unprofessional she was to our guests. I was told she was extremely rude to both adults and children and that she was complaining to our vendors about the wedding. Had I been told this by 1 or 2 people, I could be more understanding, but being told this by multiple people was upsetting to hear. The venue itself is nice. The location is kind of odd because its in a neighborhood and the parking situation is not favorable. It was extremely hot inside and we were told the AC couldnt get any cooler and the blame was put on our guests for leaving the doors open. (Even though our wedding was both inside/outside). The majority of our guests spent most of the time outside due to how hot it was inside. It seems that based on these other reviews, Kathy has been better able to host events since the first 2 weddings. I hope that moving forward, no other guests feel like our guests did at our wedding. Wish you the best in 2017 Kathy.

We rented The Grove for a graduation party for 15 graduating seniors and their families. Wow! What a wonderful night. The venue has a very nice indoor area with everything we needed but the big plus was the outdoor area with the huge deck and the terraced lawn sloping down to Brushy Creek. Everybody had a wonderful time hanging under the oak trees and looking over the creek. The owners (Kathy & Russ Boles) helped make this a wonderful evening that our kids will never forget.

Since I can t respond to the Response from the Owner , this is an edit and addendum to my initial review (posted on November 4, 2016). I am writing it now because I just started getting requests for proof of identity from several sites that I also posted the same initial review to (see ADDITIONAL NOTE below). Referencing some of Kathy s more stellar comments in her response to my review: After reviewing his anticipated conduct it was clear we were not a good fit - Anticipated conduct ? Friends and family were attending a wedding and reception. We anticipated we would have a great time including eating, drinking, dancing, you know wedding stuff. Really? Does anyone write that their anticipated conduct is anything that wouldn t be acceptable? I d say that s a bit of a grasp on Kathy s part, to try to excuse her behavior, I didn t want them, but they insisted, so it was OK for me to behave and treat them the way I did . To our recollection the event went just as the Groom planned YOUR recollection? It wasn t about you, but you made it about you and what was yours . We were pleasant and respectful of your property, yet you loomed over the party like Death in anticipation of someone touching something or going somewhere they shouldn t. You were wound up so tight that it was uncomfortable for most everyone. If you can t relax and let people experience your beautiful venue (that they re paying to use) for all it has to offer, you shouldn t be in the event venue business. His trifling nature continues by having his followers review us Trifling nature ? His followers ? That s professional; continue to insult the groom and his family and guests after you all-but-ruined their wedding. Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, this is likely how you will be treated and spoken of by Kathy on your special day. Your statements are at best secondhand and at worst, untrue The only thing secondhand about my statements is that I copied them to other review websites to make sure unsuspecting people know the truth about a real person s experience with you before doing business with you. I was there, I experienced your wrath, Kathy. *ADDITIONAL NOTE: On top of her snide reply to my initial review, let it be known that Kathy has contacted the sites that I have posted to, and made false reports stating that my review is fake to try to have it removed. I have been contacted directly by the websites and asked for documentation (which I have provided) to prove that I am a real person and that my remarks and experience were real, and to verify that I hadn t mistakenly reviewed the wrong wedding professional or venue. I assured them that my experience with Kathy Boles at The Grove (on Brushy Creek at 204 Fannin Ave, Round Rock, TX, 78664) was indeed the person and place I was writing about. I hope they are also contacting the people who wrote good reviews to request the same documentation for proof of their experiences. Something tells me Kathy has a few friends who are helping her seed the sites with glowing reviews of events that they never actually experienced.

I have been working with Kathy planning my daughters wedding since last October - she couldnt be any nicer or more professional. Shes met with me on several occasions as well as with my out of state daughter on a holiday weekend and the grooms mother and sister - all separately and all in efforts to ensure we are all on the same page regarding our wishes. She has been very accommodating to all of us and has went above and beyond to ensure we could incorporate a few out of the ordinary items. While we have had to cancel our wedding due to scheduling conflicts (the groom is in the military - which she also handled perfectly) - I cant imagine that she would be anything but professional on the actual wedding day. The facility is the perfect wedding venue and just what downtown Round Rock needed. I expect The Grove will become the place for weddings in Round Rock. I look forward to working with Kathy at some point in the future.

In my experience, when youve known someone as long as Ive known Kathy Boles, you know their true character and heart. Its unfair and unrealistic to even think you can make that determination after one event or meeting. Kathy is an amazing organizer and leader as Ive had the privilege of working with her on other projects over the years. Her dedication, passion and heart have made her successful not only in business but in her personal life. To propose such unwarranted judgements based on one experience about a persons character and performance is unaccredited and saddening. Personally, my husband and I are business owners, and we have always taken the good with the bad however, integrity will always trump all or as they say cream rises to the top and without a doubt, Kathy and Russ are people of integrity. Kathy and Russ have done a remarkable job carrying our their vision and dreams at The Grove and that was proven at our tenth anniversary celebration for our company party. The Grove is a hidden gem that one would never think to find in downtown Round Rock. Theyve done a wonderful job creating an inviting atmosphere. We had an evening event where the venue was beautifully presented and prepared; from the stunning deck overlooking Brushy Creek allowing for guests to go inside or outside, to the beautiful lighting. Theres even a little spot next to the creek for those quaint engagements and weddings. The venue itself is unique in that it has large garage type doors that can remain closed or opened to the deck overlooking the creek bringing the outside elements.... in. The venue was clean and organized for our caterer. Kathy was professional and courteous, prompt at correspondence and was there to help with anything and everything. She left no stone unturned even down to the spraying for mosquitoes underneath the deck. More than anything though I was blessed to see Kathy and Russ walking out their dreams with dignity and grace. This is definitely a venue that I would encourage everyone to consider and definitely a venue for a wedding to remember. It is unique and special and is bound to create an event youll never forget.

Its pretty obvious from reading the first few reviews that ONE event had some people that didnt have the experience they were expecting and are taking it out on the owners. Kathy and Russ Boles made our whole experience pain free, our event went off without a hitch! Since The Grove is a newer venue youre never quite sure what to expect, but the Boles couldnt have been more professional and accommodating to our needs. The phrases I heard the most throughout the night were, This place is beautiful! and What a nice party. We had an indoor/outdoor event for which The Grove is the perfect venue. The weather was also perfect, which never hurts! From the live music, to the catering, to the setup we couldnt have asked for a better venue. Id encourage you to sit down with the owners before writing them off, Im positive youll have a 5 star experience.

Thank you to to our wonderful hostess. Our day could not have gone any better. Yep, Im the girl who decided against hiring help and instead found myself with the most amazing person helping me navigate our event. Since hind sight is 20/20 I probably should have hired help but what I got instead was a venue hostess that can only be described as AWESOME! I did not realize all of the small details that would come up, but thanks to Kathy my guest never realized that I was not PERFECT. Every little detailed she handled with care. Everytime I had a concern or something I thought would ruin our opening party I spoke with Kathy and she helped me get everything back on track. The venue is beautiful, the lighting is spectacular and you can just feel the warmth radiating from the place. I cannot express enough how wonderful our experience was. If your looking for a gorgeous venue and a gracious hostess....look no further then The Grove. Hands down I would recommend this for your venue. I saw some of the other reviews and Im not sure why their experience was so different from mine, but I can say that I did not, nor did any of my guest feel anything but happy. Thanks again for a wonderful day, I will always be thankful.

Nice enough venue. Neighborhood is a little weird and run down. In my opinion, the only chance it has of being successful is if the owner hires a professional management team to run things for her. She doesnt have the type of personality to be able to handle stressful situations, large groups of people, or kids. Until that happens, if you dont mind having someone perched at the bar in shorts and t-shirt monitoring your guests alcohol intake, telling you to stack the chairs and to take all of the trash with you before leaving, and then being rushed to leave at the same time being told you cant drive, then this might be the place for you.I think somewhere in the midst of putting this place together, the owner forgot about the main purpose of the venue... celebration. Buyer beware!

I would not trust your special day to Kathy, the owner of the Grove in Round Rock. There are much better places where the owners will actually make sure you have a special day. Kathy is not this person - her attitude was so bad the bride said she would have rather had the ceremony in the cove of her street. Kathy nitpicked every little issue. At one point she actually told the police officer that was onsite (per local laws) that he needed to do something about the drunk people who were about to leave. These drunk people were actually part of the wedding party - the groomsmen, who had arranged Uber for the evening. I even told Kathy we had arranged Uber. She also mentioned stopping the party since she saw people doing shots and it was not in the contract. I reminded her at this time we had arranged Uber, but that it is also a wedding. This is not the type of situation that anyone should be dealing with on their wedding day. Her attitude was ugly to everyone in the group, not just certain people. Removing the ugliness from the situation, here are my thoughts on the venue. While the trees and deck are pretty and look down on a pond, the venue itself leaves much to be desired. Weddings typically have older people attending. The stairs leading down to the pond are not 100% solid materials - they have a nose board, but the remaining area is filled with dirt and gravel. Women usually wear nice shoes, specifically heels, at weddings. Many had a hard time going down the stairs since their heels were sinking into the dirt. Older people had to be carefully escorted down. At the bottom of the pond is where we took our pictures. While the sod was new, it was also difficult for anyone in heels to stand. The heels sunk into the grass. While the sod will take and this should firm up, after a rain it would be soggy and difficult for anyone to use this area. There was not any good lighting in this area either - so as soon as the sun went down, the area was unusable. The mens room only has two toilets - no urinals. The bathrooms are also right across from the brides room - this proved challenging to keep the bride from seeing the groom beforehand. The venue did not have a permit to play any music outside at night. We had music for the ceremony, but later the DJ had to be inside and all doors shut. This basically put everyone in one big room with the doors shut, cutting off open access to the deck outside. We were reminded several times by Kathy to keep the doors shut. Somehow she didnt think telling us once was enough. The deck is nice, but it also does not have good lighting. Sections were very dark, which limited its use after the sun went down. The venue is actually in a neighborhood and you can tell there is tension between the homeowners and the venue. Parking has to be done via valet, which worked well. But it was another point that Kathy continually reminded us about - where to park, asking whos car is that? and telling us to move vehicles. While this was not my wedding, I was in the ceremony and dealt with Kathy directly numerous times. I could not recommend this venue to anyone based on the way Kathy treated nearly everyone that talked with her. A child in our group actually said I dont like the way that woman is talking to us. Kathy states on her site that this is her dream, but she definitely does not act like it and does not treat her clients like it is the most important day for their dreams to come true. Dont just avoid, warn others to stay away.

We attended a wedding there last weekend and although the venue is nice and new, it was by far the worst customer service ever. The venues event coordinator was completely out of line on various occassions. She threatened to kick children out of the property for holding the door open and letting the AC out. Mind you, this is an indoor/outdoor venue. She harrassed various guests for various reasons and then lied to guests to get them to do or stop doing what she wanted. She said the groom was complaining when in fact the groom didnt talk to her all night. She treated adults like children and was very condescending for minor things. Things such as stepping on mulch, playing on recently sodded grass that wasnt completely grown in.....none of which is the guests problem. By doing all of these things she made the guests feel harrassed, angry, and uncomfortable. Not to mention the fact that the toilet paper ran out in the womens bathroom mid reception and was never replaced. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone for any occasion f you want to have any kind of decent customer service or a pleasant experience. Its sad that the main thing the guests were talking about was the different rude stories they were sharing because of this woman.
