I just had a horrible dining experience eating out as a 1 guest patron. First, the hostess tried to seat me in the back in a corner behind a red wall. Second, I told my waiter, Israel no rice with my buritto. The kitchen didnt read the ticket and brought two servings of rice. I had to send it back. Third, I asked Israel for another bowl of salsa. Ten minutes later no salsa. I see Israel watching TV and talking with the other waiters. It took me getting the bartenders attention for someone to come over to ask what I needed. Suddenly, Israel goes running to the kitchen to get my salsa. But he made sure to keep the 8-person table behind me happy by picking up plates and drinks refilled. For the horrible service and a $19.22 ticket, Israel sure did not deserve an $8.00 cash tip but I left him $8.00 anyway. I guaranteed if I had been a 1 person white patron, I would have received better service. Israel did not ask me how was my meal or even offer me a drink refill. I had to ask for my credit card receipt too. After I got the bartenders attention, the lady bartender kept giving me a mean nasty eye rolling look. I will never eat at Santiagos again. I deserved to be treated like all other white guests with multiple people sitting at their table. Single black guest patrons do tip well and beyond the 15% tip mininum.

We are from Houston and visited this place for lunch. The food was good. The salsa was fresh and delicious. The chips were good as well. I had the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and it was really good. I ordered some queso and it was okay. I would probably not order it again. The service was just okay. I didn t like how they refilled the chips. Most restaurants will take the old chips and replace with new chips. This place brings out a scoop with fresh chips and dump them over the old chips at the bottom of the basket. Great atmosphere with nice music. I would definitely come back to eat here again.

I feel the meals are overpriced. The management feels that making money is more important than keeping satisfied clients. I paid $58 for 9 chicken enchiladas with beans. I received 3 chicken enchiladas and 6 beef enchiladas on my take out order. The manager instead of comping a meal gave me 10 off and said that was all he could do. I expected more.

We had a wonderful experience here. Its rare all the important things about eating out come together exactly right, but Santiagos did it. The margaritas were excellent! The guac was super fresh and in an authentic bowl. I got the mole enchiladas which take an acquired taste, and they were excellent. The service was fantastic. This place felt more like a fancy downtown Dallas restaurant, but without all the hassle or extra expense. The food came out very quickly. Our server, Ivan, was very attentive, professional, and friendly. The only thing I would change is the chips tasted store bought and unauthentic. Everything else was exactly right. Well definitely be going back.

I don t know what happened. I usually like this place. I got a chicken taco salad. It had a TON of lettuce with chicken and tomato on top and jalapeños in the corner. The worst part was that the salad shell tasted like it had been fried in oil that had gone bad, rancid. The chips tasted good. It comes with queso and salsa on the side. If the taco shell is bad, it s really hard to eat the rest of it. It was Tuesday night, so Taco Tuesday, but nobody was in there. Disappointed.

I really love their food. And I work literally down the street. Coworkers & I go there often. I always order the same meal everytime. Yesterday a coworker & I went for lunch & i ordered the same as always. This time the guy brings out the plate i asked for but added something that i totally told him I didnt want. When I tpld him that it wasnt what I asked for he got very upset, took my plate and says well im just going to bring you a plain chile with the chesse on the side. Again not what I asked for. But the way he took the plate & then made that comment was enough for me. His attitude was very unprofessional and I was not a happy customer. He then came back with a nicer approach and asked if i wanted anything else. At that point I was to upset to even eat and So I responded no and again he gave me attitude. This was the 2nd time I had a bad experience with the waitstaff. I will no longer be a customer at Santiagos. Parking: Nothing to tell Wheelchair accessibility: nothing to tell

Wasnt packed at all. They get a three because they made a great cup of coffee. The food was way over priced. Margarita $19 Like wow needless to say no to the margarita. Very solid 4 star texmex restaurant. Very consistent food quality. Service varies a bit depending on the server, but usually very good. Atmosphere it typical of a shopping center restaurant. Tables are a bit crowded, causing you to bump into nearby diners on occasion. Drinks are good, beer is cold. We go there mostly with our granddaughter. Good family restaurant. Parking: Limited parking some busy evenings, but generally available without much of a walk.

I dare you to find better Tex-Mex food outside your grandmas house. Hands down, the best fajita steak chimichanga Ive ever had. Also, I dont know what they put in their refried beans and rice but it is magical. Also highly recommend their stuffed LARGE jalapenos, be warned it can be a whole meal in itself! Their salsa is fresh slightly spicy and seems to be homemade. Its on point if you can handle some fresh diced jalapeno. I was always told you can tell how good a Mexican restaurants food is going to be by the quality of their salsa. It definitely seems true so far! I would recommend anyone that is coming through the Austin area give Santiagos a try. While they dont appear to be listed on Doordash, their website ordering is legit and the food is always ready for pick-up within 10 to 15 minutes. 5.1 stars. Oh and they have Mole sauce & its great! Parking: Plenty of spots. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp onto the business sidewalk to the right of Santiagos in front of the donut shop.

Good atmosphere and drinks. I did not have a good experience with the food however: ordered the Vegetarian Nachos without spinach and extra jalapeños. Got the nachos without jalapeños and extra spinach. When pointed out to the server, he just mentioned oh I couldnt hear you clearly over music without any offer for replacing the nachos. Didnt want to make a big deal out of it, but if I were allergic I was served this I would have sued the establishment. Think it was a honest mistake but was pretty disappointed with the way it was handled after. Would not recommend the place unless the service quality goes up. Giving 2 stars purely since the drinks (beerita) were decent.

First time trying this place but I was pleasantly surprised. Very flavorful and fresh, you could hear the crunch of the fresh veggies in my burrito! The salsa was on point as well, great flavor, spice, and the texture was great. Hubs and I were able to share the Santiagos burrito without having to take home leftovers. Added bonus, the kids menu is fairly extensive, more than just the usual three offerings, which is 100% welcome!

Tried this restaurant for a 2nd time just in case if my 1st awful experience was due to other reasons unknown. Food was still served cold. Staff continuously gawped at us the first and second time around from the moment we walked in until we left which is very uncomfortable. The food was heated up when we told them it was cold. After receiving the appetizers our main entres were brought out immediately after. No time to enjoy the appetizers. Seems as they rushed us to get in and out even when each time we visited was a slow evening. Hate to throw the race card but both times I saw the treatment of other customers being served and treated better. Yet us, a black family dressed in comfortable clothing were treated in way less reguards. Will never be a Third time at this restaurant.

For anyone who cares about my hubby s and my search for a good Tex-Mex place to eat at every week (I m sure there are LOADS of you), we stopped going to Lupe Tortilla a while ago. I updated that review if you want to know why. We have been going to Santiago s on 620 for the last few months and we really like it there. It s a medium-sized place with a pretty standard Tex-Mex vibe. There s typically a good mix of families, couples, and groups of all ages and I see a lot of regulars. They stay pretty busy, but we ve never had to wait for a table and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The best thing about Santiago s? The food is REALLY GOOD! From our first time there to dinner last week, the food is consistently delicious. My faves are the suiza chicken enchiladas (I always get a side of tomatillo sauce to pour over the top - yum!); the al pastor tacos (try the carnitas or barbacoa tacos too); and the chimichanga. Everything we ve eaten there has been really tasty. I typically don t eat the rice and beans, but the charro beans are so good that I ll even bring them home with my leftovers. The house frozen margaritas have good flavor and aren t overly sweet, and try either the deluxe or supremos nachos - really good! We ll keep coming back to Santiago s!

I would recommend doubling the corn tortillas but the pineapple and cilantro was spot on. The service was excellent and that is saying something in this post Covid era. The place is small but very clean and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I wish there was a place like this in the Temple area. All of our Mexican restaurants are mediocre at best. When I m in the area I ll definitely be back!

Go-to neighborhood Tex Mex with nice happy hour specials and really good food. We went for lunch on Mothers day and staff was giving every woman there a long-stemmed rose. A really nice touch that was something I wasnt expecting. Will continue to frequent this one.

Fajita chicken was dry, enchiladas were greasy, and it was pricy. Slow service, blah atmosphere.

Really tasty food! The guacamole enchiladas with ranchero sauce were really good. The churro beans was a tasty bean soup and the rice fresh. The complimentary chips and salsa were crisp and fresh. Very happy with our lunch choice! No wait and attentive service.

My sister and I came on Taco Tuesday. We have been here a few times recently. I had a great experience on Sundays and Mondays so far. I dont think I will be back on Tuesdays. The food was definitely mediocre and it was a bit disappointing. The fried ice cream: the corn flakes were not crunchy but soggy and hard to chew. I have experienced fried ice cream before and know it was not fried fresh-- probably refrozen. The tacos: were ok. Too much lettuce to where it was making the crunchy Shells soggy. Chicken was not very flavorful... get ground beef or just dont get the special on Taco Tuesday. The service: The waitress, checked on us frequently, but the service wasnt anything stellar. When it came to questions or we disliked something, it was irritating for her. I definitely understand as we do not like to take things back but had to. This will not stop us from coming, because of the great service and food weve had before, but we will be mindful of the days with best service and come frequently on those days.

This was a great place. Very eye appealing, very cozy, At first the quickness of the food was worrisome bc usually quickness doesnt usually mean greatness, but they prove otherwise, food was fantastic . I would come here again. Easily.

Bland food, watered down drinks, served me one taco and charged me for two! Bartender needs a new job cleaning toilets. Management is a total failure here. Just go Mesa Rosa or eat at the tire shop next door for a better experience! This place is a true kitchen nightmare! Canned food and watery drinks..... ZERO stars!! Food
