Ive been casually enjoying sushi off-and-on for 25 years. Im no connoisseur, but Ive dined at dozens of restaraunts over that period of time. Sushi Yume has, by far, the most delicious sushi Ive ever enjoyed! Whatever magic theyre doing behind the counter should not be overlooked. The restaraunt was clean, well lit, and we got our table quickly. Our server was kind and attentive (thank you, Chloe!). The music wasnt loud (we could have a conversation) and the bathrooms were clean. The food was amazing and the chefs even graced us with a free dessert after complimenting their culinary skills. Dont pass this place up, folks. Sushi Yume is our new favorite. We hope they never leave Round Rock! Keep up the amazing service and experience, Sushi Yume. What a gift you are to the area! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented my personal favorites were the sashimi platter and the udon noodles. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, making the entire meal even more enjoyable. As for the atmosphere, it s one that anyone can enjoy, whether youre here with family, friends, or even a baby. We brought my sister s well-behaved child, and the staff were wonderful. Unlike some people, I don t think that children ruin a restaurant s atmosphere its usually bitter, joyless individuals who manage that all on their own. you d never know the head chef is also the owner. he made the most creative, beautiful, delicious sushi and rolls while effortlessly chatting with us in English and his team in Japanese. The restaurant was four months old but ran like a well-oiled machine. A hidden gem in an unlikely place - the corner of a strip mall anchored by Academy Sports. I was actually blown away by the quality of the sushi here. One of the best sushi I have ever had and at a very reasonable price. Everything was super fresh and every piece had so much flavor. Really good combination of sauces, rice is flavored perfectly, aesthetically pleasing plating, and the way they torch the sushi made it so delicious. Hard to believe round rock finally had a good sushi restaurant! The nigiri pieces are on par with Uchiko/Uchi/Musashino. Their hand rolls are a decent size but a little smaller than neighborhood sushi. Hamachi roll was alright, sesame oil was a little too overpowering but still good. Price point is also good. My husband & I typically eat at Musashino sushi dokoro but this has become our new go-to spot since it s so close to home. Staff is amazing! So friendly, welcoming and attentive. This place will soon outgrow its current location. The vibe is also great! Kid-friendliness: We took our 7 month old. Thankfully she did well in a new environment but the staff was so friendly they had a clean high chair waiting at our table and they offered to serve her water.

We have been here four times in 3 weeks. It is just that good. Fish quality is top notch for Austin. They likely have the same supplier as the other high end sushi in town. With the round rock location, and a bit simpler decor, prices are definitely cheaper compared to Uchiko, etc. but the sushi is just as good to be honest. Do you come here twice for the price of once at Uchiko? I say yes. It s not quite the whole experience, but to enjoy the high quality fish, and with always friendly and prompt service, you can do no better in the Austin metro.

Highly recommend Sushi Yume. We had primarily negiri and sashimi, all of which were excellent. The fish quality was at least as good as comparably priced sushi restaurants in and around downtown Austin; the fish was a little colder than I like, but I think thats due to lower foot traffic compared to established restaurants in Austin and a surprisingly (and delightfully) quick serve time. Particular notes were the Santa Barbara uni (sea urchin) and tuna o toro (tuna belly). The uni is buttery and sweet and melt-in-your-mouth and just an all-around sublime experience please get this. The negiri rice was well-seasoned and at a good temperature; I prefer slightly more acidity and warmer, but the rice here is definitely at a level most people would find ideal. And I really appreciated that they provide both the common faux wasabi and real wasabi without request. All of this excellence in Round Rock was surprising and welcome easy to park, no wait time, and very friendly staff. Please, please eat here to keep them open so I can keep coming back.

I had a great meal at Sushi Yume. My dinner companion enjoyed an excellent, but a little bit expensive Chirashi don bowl ($35). The fish was fresh and tasty. I was happy to finally find a Japanese restaurant in the Austin area that offered Zaru soba (cold buckwheat noodles with dipping sauce). Its one of my favorite Japanese dishes and very popular in Japan during the hot summer months. Sushi Yume did a great job and a very generous portion of the buckwheat noodles! The only downside was the gyoza were deep fried, rather than panfried. I realize this is Texas and everything has to be deep-fried! Next time Ill ask if they can do pan fried gyoza! We were there a little bit early, but by the time we finish dinner on a Monday night, the restaurant was completely full. Very happy theyre doing well.

Im not a sushi fan, but my wife loves it. I went knowing there were other options available. That being said, my wife and 5yo daughter loved the sushi. The woman next to us also made a rather loud exclamation about how good it was I got Kake Udon and it tasted nice. My daughter enjoyed it too. The Karaage was also pretty good, but my picky son still didnt eat much My main complaint is the price, but it seems comparable to other sushi places. Solid sushi spot! My friends and I tried chirashi don, salmon sushi, yellowtail sushi, tamago, unagi sushi, futomaki, and few hand rolls. Hamachi was creamy and tasty! Ive only been here once, however, this might be my new favorite sushi restaurant in the Austin area. The fish was definitely fresh and you can tell that the uni was of top-notch quality. The staff is super nice, friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. The service staff was attentive and made some really good suggestions on what to try. If this level of service and quality continues to hold up, this will become my number one ranked sushi place. I will update this posting after I give this place a couple more tries. My family lives in the neighborhood, and we were looking to have a new experience. We were SO HAPPY WE DID! Typically, we d select sushi on a date night without kids, but not this time. Our food was so good, and the service was impeccably fast and attentive. The chef prepared his evening special, Grilled Salmon Collar for us, and we were hooked. Fresh and flavorful. We couldn t even go a week before returning! Tonight s recommendation was grilled yellowfin tuna, and it was just as amazing. Great to meet the three owners/friends/chefs, working so hard and doing an amazing job with the quality and atmosphere! Sushi in my neighborhood, yeah! Love this new sushi spot! The food was not only presented beautifully, but the fish was fresh and delicious. They had a decent variety of items on their menu. Along with our sushi, we tried the crispy tuna and takoyaki appetizers, and the scallop handroll. We tried both the Santa Barbara & Hokkaido uni, which were so tasty. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant and we ll be back for sure!

This place is easily the best sushi Ive eaten in the Austin area. I came here with friends on a Friday for lunch and was very impressed by their lunch specials. We ordered various things from their lunch combos, to the seared salmon nigiri, and even the handroll combos. Everything we ate was so ridiculously good and we were all very much impressed by the quality of the fish they serve here. Visited with my son. It was much more delicious than I expected. It was by far the best Japanese food Ive ever had in my life. It was sashimi that melted in your mouth. It satisfied everything: texture, taste, and sight. The price is reasonable too. This restaurant is likely to open two branches in downtown Austin within a year. oh my god. We ve been here since they just opened and each time we have been here we have been blown away. They always have Uni here which is great and they have Uni from Japan and from California. Service is always great, food is amazing, fish is flown in from Japan. Can t ask for more. Plus our 4 year old daughter eats everything here so it s toddler approved you know it s good.

This place was INSANE! Sooo good and hands down the best sushi Ive had in the Austin area. For the price you pay, the quality is incredible. The nigiri here was actually better than a lot of the sushi Ive had in Tokyo. Everything was super fresh and immaculately prepared; the garnishes, sauces, and oils added to the nigiri elevated the flavors in such an amazing way. I was skeptical with a 5.0, but having sushi around the world, I can assure you this place is legit. Fish was all very fresh, and even though the uni is not really in season it was excellent. The chef made several recommendations as to what was just received, and items that may go well. The only thing missing was that they didn t have quail eggs. We will be back, and likely found a new favorite spot. Update 6/5 - yep, we came back and it s still amazing. We already put in a reservation for when some friends are coming into town. This is our new spot in all of Austin!!!

Sushi Yume is super unassuming from the outside, but you step in and you can see the attention to detail in the space. Everything we ordered tasted so fresh, delicious and perfect. I ve been here twice so far and both times did not disappoint! Highly recommend their aburi salmon (seared salmon) sushi. So far I have ordered the sake don and the udon here; the sake don was a good portion of rice, salmon, ikura, and assorted pickled vegetables, and the udon noodle texture was perfect, paired with a very light, but flavorful, broth. Almost didn t want to review this place so I can keep it a secret and come back often. We absolutely loved how fresh the fish was and the care put into the craft. The co-owners are from LA so they know their fish game. The Chef choice sushi combo was a hit and we adored the Hokkaido uni - so fresh! The Kanpachi is also one of my fave pieces - perfect amount of shiso leaf and sauce. Great flavor profiles . Deep fried squid had the perfect amount of crunch and batter. We re generally picky about our food. The Maguro was scored properly and had the right amount of aging and texture - a difficult feat for many here in Austin. Sushi Yume will go far when compared to the other sushi spots in ATX. Bonus: soy sauce is house brewed! Can t wait to return to try the other nigiri pieces and cooked food!

My bf took me here this week and the sushi was amazingly delicious. The presentation was beautiful and the flavor combos are perfection. This is our new go to sushi spot in town! Im very picky with sushi and it was so hard to find a right spot ever since I moved here. Restaurant was very welcoming and I liked how bright the space was. Chefs special was excellent choice and was prepared with very fresh ingredients. Love the little Chilli crunch and Yuzu on top! We are a sushi lover. My sister told me about this place and while we were out. My daughter who is 5yo also loves to eat sushi. She requested that we go to a sushi restaurant. We went here out of curiosity and try it out for the night. Upon arrival, the customer service is very great, they greet us and seated us to a table. The owner and chef come out to have a conversation with our mini family. Nothing to complained but all compliments. They are very nice, awesome and happy individuals. This place is small. The environment and atmosphere dim and casual. Great place for friends and family. The foods and sashimi is top notch fresh. It just melted into our mouth. Very delicious. The fry squid are crunchy on the outside and sweet and chewy on the inside. The foods here are very satisfying and very enjoyable. We feels like the chef really put his heart & soul into preparing our foods with love..... Thank you... We will be back and introduce our friends and family to you. However, Sushi Yume surpassed all expectations and stands as the rare one thats worth the drive. Not only was the sushi beautifully crafted and presented, every bite bursted with freshness and flavor and literally melted in our mouth. The food and service is 10/10! Personally, I felt a bit out of place when it came to Japanese restaurants that sold Korean food, but this place really only sells Japanese food, which is nice. First of all, what I had was the lunch set, which I thought was quite a deal since it included one piece of seaweed sushi and 8 pieces of nigiri for $30. Plus, I think its amazing that the chef makes recommendations based on your taste and they fit perfectly. The sushi was soft and delicious, and the dessert was also delicious.

Everything is made to order and you get to watch the chefs make it in front of you if tou sit at one of their counters. Its like omakase, so its an intersting vibe! Everything is delicious with the super fresh ingredients. Its hard to choose when there are so many yummy options. We started off with three different appetizers and it was phenomenal. The seasoning on every sushi was so unique and the flavours worked extremely well. Again, the fish was very fresh and honestly I couldnt have asked for anything else. Found out this place was opening up so decided to give it a try. I was amazed! This place has only been open for a few days but everything was absolutely fantastic.
