Friendly and efficient. I always lean towards supporting Mom and Pops businesses. An ugly fact is your big chain H&R Block type tax institutions hire a bunch of kids that dont know their way around tax law at a certain time of the year then get rid of them when tax season is over. If youre looking for a proper accountant who knows their business, then this is what youre looking for. My filing was super quick and expertly handed. Its my first year here, but I will be returning. 7 star review.

We made an appointment and stopped by for an initial consultation to see if and how they could assist with our tax questions. They wanted us to fill out this contact information paper form that asked for way too much personal information for an initial (free) consultation including SSNs. They also required to make copies of our drivers licenses before even beginning to talk to us. We were just there for an initial consultation to provide a general overview of our needs and to see if they could assist. We had not hired this business to do anything. We left and took the contact forms will filled out. Very bad vibes and completely unnecessary to require this information for an initial meeting with what appeared to be no information security standards in place. We talked with a few other local tax/CPA companies and none had us go through that for the initial consultation.

Kemi is the BEST financial advisor and all around good person. She jumped into out financial mess and took charge. I found the company to be completely incompetent. I met with Fred Nwagbo and provided this company all of my IRS information electronically to do my taxes 1.5 months before the IRS deadline. When I met with him, I ask him how long it would take to file my taxes. He said it would be done by next week. However, next week came and went. I called and called but they failed to respond in a timely manner or to get my documents and perform any services. They ultimately failed to file my taxes on-time by the deadline as well. However, despite that, because of their incompetence they now claim that had to file an extension for me. As a result of me fearing my taxes would be late and that I would be penalized by the IRS, I called the Manager Kemi (who is simply the wife of Fred) at 2:45 on the IRS deadline and told the secretary Nina that I needed to get a call back with 30 mins to resolve this manner and I said that I want a complete resolution by 4pm or I would need to make alternate arrangements. As normally expected for this company, she also failed to return my call. As a result, I made other arrangements and filed my own IRS Tax extension. Now this terrible company is claiming that I owe them money for their incompetence for filing an incorrect IRS extension. They claim they filed an extension which I never asked for. I never agreed to any tax extension fee. I ask them to do my taxes and do them on time--that is all. So to check what Fred was claiming, I asked Fred what tax amount was due which is a critical part of the tax extension form 4868, he said, I dont know. I havent done your taxes. What? Form 4868 correctly filed requires a rough guess of the taxes to ensure no penalties or interest are due immediately so later on when you actually file the taxes, you wont have penalties for non-payment on time. It is critical that rough math be done during the filing of the extension. Long story short, even on the form he claims he found, it was incorrectly performed. Luckily I had already filed the tax extension myself because of their incompetence and paid the estimated tax due. You need to avoid them like the plague.

CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!!! You WILL get audited and you WILL NOT receive any backup or help from this company once that happens. Horrible experience! Service is absolutely terrible. Nearly impossible to get help. My returns got audited and now the IRS is saying I owe nearly 25k. Fred refuses to call me back, return emails, or help get this sorted out correctly. Fred was already paid twice for the returns that were audited. Paid almost 1k to file one year with Fred and I get audited. I have been trying for over a year to get help with absolutely no luck. When I originally reached out for help, Kami told me they were busy filing customer returns and would get to me in a couple weeks. Months went by. I sent emails and copies of letters from the IRS. Still nothing. Went back in a couple weeks ago asking again for help and Fred proceeded to tell me that requires time that he does not have, it would take at least 1 year to get fixed, and to not call the IRS myself as I would mess things up more by speaking with them. He has since then ghosted all of my attempts to get ahold of him concerning this matter, including the email stating I was going to retain a tax attorney. DO NOT USE! Complete waste of time and caused nothing but bigger problems than ever with absolutely no regard on their end.

I am a Texas CPA and I had a very frustrating experience with KF Tax. This was our first year to work with Kemi & Fred for individual tax return services. I had high hopes due to the numerous 5 star Google reviews, but ultimately, I was frustrated, disrespected and disappointed for three main reasons: 1) Fred tried to take advantage of us financially by unreasonably trying to charge a ridiculous amount more than he initially quoted due to errors of his own (more on this below) 2) Error prone, there were many inaccuracies across the entire return from income to rental expenses and foreign considerations and 3) not following instructions when I instructed Kemi to make an estimated tax payment to the IRS with our money to avoid potential penalties/fees (we were filing a tax extension) and failed to do so. We ultimately received a refund, but it was close to $0. Had we ultimately had a tax payment, Fred and Kemi would have put us in a very bad financial situation where we would have had to pay the IRS for penalties and fees due to a negligent judgement of their own, and without our permission. What really went wrong with KF Tax: I came into KF Tax and sat down with Fred. I supplied Fred a copy of our prior year s tax return that closely mimicked this year s return. We agreed on a price and I left the office feeling I was in good hands. A tax extension was filed by Kemi on our behalf, to give Fred sufficient time to complete our return (but again, without making a payment to the IRS as I had instructed). One week later, Fred had completed the return and Kemi sent it to me to review (good turnaround time). A week after that, I back to the office for a scheduled meeting with Fred and informed Fred that he was missing a form that detailed foreign assets. I could tell he was noticeably confused, not having realized before that it was missing. Once again I referenced Fred to last year s tax return (that Form was certainly in there). Fred tried to play it off by saying this form was an informational sheet even though it is required by the IRS and supposed to be attached/submitted within our tax return (the form says so at the top). Fred then surprised me by saying I have to charge you extra to do this for you. When I asked why, he said I didn t tell him about the form in advance, which was a complete LIE, he literally had it in front of him from last year s tax return copy. What s worse, Fred told me that he would charge $250 MORE / on top of his quoted fee to do this form and this form is 6 pages! It was a completely unfair assessment for the little work truly associated with it. The form does not require tax expertise, it was simply a listing of foreign accounts and their dollar amounts. 15-20 minutes of work, tops. I truly felt at this point that Fred was trying to take advantage of me, as he was holding hostage the entire return until we agreed on price. This is completely unacceptable, reckless, and unprofessional behavior. Fred ultimately backtracked and said he overlooked the form when he initially quoted me. I wish he would have just been honest about this upfront, instead of trying to incorrectly blame me and hold the filing of our entire tax return hostage. I asked Fred why I was having to pay for a misjudgment of his own, to which he had no reply. I also told Fred that this form was not $250 worth of work and we settled for $50 extra, although I was still unhappy. At this point, trust is certainly broken. I truly feel wronged and disrespected as a client, as a professional and as a female. As with all things, I am willing to move forward. However, in order for me to move forward with KF Tax, I would appreciate Fred s acknowledgement that his actions were negligent, unfair and wrong. It is worth a sincere apology from Fred for his behavior. Otherwise, we will not be utilizing their services in the future and do not recommend them.

Great, personalized and friendly service ! I have just started using this accounting firm, and will continue to do so. They are very knowledgeable about Quickbooks, so I will work with them later this year to tailor this software better to the needs of my design firm.

I highly recommend K & F Tax! 10 star service! Several years ago I had quite a mess being a new business owner & they spent a lot of time with me & completely organized my business and personal taxes, as well as setting me up for a mostly automatic organization for future years via QB. Everything has been a breeze since. I wouldn t go anywhere else to do my taxes. They are extremely helpful and friendly. I m a loyal client for many more years to come!

When working to set up my business, I asked some of my colleagues for recommendations on a number of professional services providers, and Kemis name came up a couple of times for Tax and Accounting services. Ive been working with Kemi and Fred for almost 10 years now and have been very happy. Indeed, Ive recommended them to other colleagues who were shopping for alternatives to their existing providers. Kemi spent the time necessary to understand the characteristics of my Business, worked with me to understand the Business needs, and paid close attention to my individual concerns and constraints. She has worked with me from the beginning to maximize the value she was providing. She checks in with me regularly, helps me manage any changes that are coming Accounting wise, and keeps me informed of pending changes in Tax Law to help keep those changes form causing me undue consternation.
