Food is good. Pats medium rare is very flavorful and the butter, salt and pepper flavors, though powerful, do not over power the meat. Their tortilla soup is the measuring sick I use to compare others. Its great. *** Update 11-10-18 while out with my wife celebrating the 243rd Marine Corps birthday, this is the first time we were told no military discount if you have a laundry card. Just collecting the points counts as a discount. Fyi.

Servers are very quick here during the weekdays when I visit, and I have always had a great experience each time I visit. The steaks are always a good go to when it comes to ordering off the menu. They have great sides as well (they are all great choices). If you have enough room, their desserts are also a great addition to any meal. Will be back again. Thanks for the good experience.

We ve been coming here and been Landrys select members for over a year. Today we were informed that I couldn t use my rewards card if my husband wasn t present. (He was I was just curious why they were checking his ID all of a sudden when that had never been standard before). To make matters worse, the waitress we had informed us that there is a widower woman who comes in trying to use her rewards card but since it was in her recently deceased husbands name it can no longer be used by her to accrue points. They actually went to far to suggest I get my own card for points.. like will we split the bill as married couple every date and accrue out points separately? That is ridiculous and unacceptable. We absolutely love the server Kat and have never had a negative experience here until today. I can t beleive this is a policy they are so strict on that they almost seem to brag about defrauding a widow.

8/16/24 - update! We come here often, and as you can see in my original review, we always have the best experience. We had a little hiccup tonight, I brought it to our server s (Madison) attention, and her and the manager Teddy went out of their way to make it right. We were blown away by their kindness, and left there knowing they truly care about their customers. Amazing experience- y all go see Teddy and Madison! Love this Saltgrass. The staff is always quick and friendly. Salads are amazing here!

This afternoon we went to Saltgrass Steak House for what we thought would be a great meal as before, that was the first time for us to go. But today that did not happen. I had a filet mignon that was supposed to be medium with broccoli and potato soup, which was cold. My steak was tough, not anything close to a medium and my soup, well, was just cold. His steak was okay, but his fries were very hard and cold. We got there about 3:30, our order went in about 3:40. We were waiting and waiting for our food, then someone came to our table to let us know there was a mix up and it was delayed. It was already about 4:20, still did not have food, we just wanted to go. We just wanted it to go, by that time it was about 4:30. We decided we will not be going back. Very disappointing.

We have been members of Landry Select for years, Everything was wonderful today! Our hostess Gabby did an exceptional job. Very friendly and helpful. On her toes to help us with leftovers as we were leaving! Order of Laredo Chicken & Shrimp dinners were very good!! We normally eat steak, but we were very pleased with our choices! Midweek lunch with my wonderful wife. Its been a while since we visited Saltgrass. The opening bread comes with honey infused butter. Both had 6oz sirloin with brussels sprouts also infused with honey and sirraccia. Love that there is no upcharge for them. Our waitress, Leslie, was very friendly, patient, and helpful. I recently dined at Saltgrass Steak House for the first time and, unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the expectations set by their reputation. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a waitress, but shortly after, our table was switched to a different waiter without any explanation. I mentioned that it was our first time dining here to both the waitress and the manager who came by to greet us. The manager proudly explained that everything was made in-house and that they take great care of their restaurant, boasting about their high rating in the area. Unfortunately, this is where the pleasantness ended. We ordered two Texas T-Bones, both requested at medium, along with Brussels sprouts, potato soup, mac and cheese, and a kids Chicken Tenders with broccoli. We decided to skip appetizers to try the bread, which we were told would have a short wait. However, after 10-15 minutes, our main course arrived without any sign of the bread we had been eagerly waiting for. To our dismay, the steaks were not cooked as requested; my wife s steak was medium, but mine was medium rare. When I mentioned this, they offered to cook it further, but considering the time that had already passed, I chose to eat my sides and take the steak home to cook later. The potato soup was delicious, though. In the end, the waiter did pack up the bread for us to take home. However, it wasn t the best, likely due to it not being fresh. The manager did provide a complimentary slice of cheesecake for my wife, which was a nice gesture, but it did not make up for the overall disappointing experience. I paid the full price for the meal, but considering the service and the issues we encountered, I do not believe it was worth the cost. Regrettably, I doubt we will return to Saltgrass Steak House.

Unfortunately there doesn t seem to be quality control here. For the price I think that I should get a fresh green salad. The asparagus I paid considerably extra for was extremely overseasoned and deathly salty. The asparagus that replaced it was not seasoned at all. On the other hand, the filet was beautifully cooked. Our meals were exquisite. Michael Wells, who was our waiter, went far beyond what is expected from waiters in general, for he took the necessary time in explaining to us what made every dish different and unique. He really knew in detail every dish, drink and desert on the menus, including telling us the degree of cooking on each type of stake we could choose so as to enhance their flavours. Our both stakes were succulent following his advice. Then his dedication to service was outstanding. He was attentive, caring, and incredibly professional by explaining to us the history and origine of SaltGrass as a restaurant itself. So, our visit to Saltgrass in Rockwall is and will be a real culinary experience if one desires a very typical Texan ranch stake. They melted in our mouths. We will be back and we want Micheal as our official waiter.

Very disappointing. We went to Saltgrass for our 55th wedding anniversary. It was not very busy but service was slow, slow. Very hot outside, took 15 minutes to get our tea. Had to ask for pitcher of tea for table. Waited another 15 minutes for bread & salad. Then brought steak & potato very quickly so no time to enjoy salad for worrying about steak & potato getting cold. Ask for extra butter for potato twice. Finally got butter after 3/4 of potato was eaten. Asked for two to-go teas. Server brought two empty cups and lids and was told to fill them ourselves with leftover tea . Not enough tea to fill both but just got tired of begging. Very disappointing. Usually exceptional service.

I recently dined at Saltgrass Steak House in Rockwall, Texas, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Here are the reasons why: First, I ordered the bacon-wrapped quail, which was grossly undercooked. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she offered to bring me another entrée of bacon-wrapped quail. However, when the bill arrived, I was charged for both entrees, which was unacceptable. Next, I requested the blackened grilled red snapper and specifically informed the waitress that I had a shellfish allergy and to ensure no shrimp was added. Despite this, the red snapper came out with shrimp, and it had to be taken back to the kitchen. Due to all these errors, my dining companions had already finished their meals while I was left waiting. I requested to-go boxes as it was clear I would not be eating my meal there. We had to ask another waitress for the to-go boxes because our original server seemed to forget about us again. Finally, when the bill arrived, it was $131 for a meal that was marred by poor service and multiple mistakes. Overall, the experience was incredibly disappointing, and I would not recommend this restaurant to others.

The bone in ribeye was not a quality piece of meat. It was stringy tough and not a prime cut. The part of the restaurant we were sitting in was too cold. I ve been going to saltgrass for 15 years. I love it always go with the family. I m a member but this last time the service was terrible. We got there at 7:20 PM there was not a lot of people yet. They told us it s gonna be like 15 to 20 minutes Keep it in mind that it s a party of seven .. I saw three big parties before us without a reservation that come in after us and were seated. 8:15 comes around and my wife goes up to the host and asked again because we seen them setting up a table for eight people and he told us that was not for us that they re trying to wait for a table in the back! Terrible experience at this location due to the manager, Shauna. My mother tried to use my father s Landry s reward card after he passed away just a couple of weeks prior. Shauna came to our table to inform us that his card could not be used. She was very short with her answer. When my mom was visibly upset she very quickly got an attitude with her. My mom was not looking for any sympathy but Shauna s complete lack of empathy and hostile attitude was completely uncalled for. She proceeded to storm off from our table and gossip with her coworkers, noted by how everyone she talked to glared at our table. She should not be in a managerial position with her unprofessional attitude. Our server had a professional positive attitude throughout the situation. I feel bad that he has to work under her. He should be promoted to her job. The frozen crown and coke was good. I recommend having many of these before dealing with Shauna.

Extremely disappointed. It was after the lunch rush and the place was nearly empty. We waited nearly 30 minutes after our order was placed. We saw our food which had been taken off the pass and then put back up on the pass on two separate occasions because the kitchen messed up our orders. We were two people. We ordered a chicken sandwich off the main menu and a grilled chicken breast off the lunch menu which was nearly the same price as the main menu. The grilled chicken breast and french fries look like roadkill. It was dry, skimpy and just terrible. The fries were haphazardly tossed on top of everything. The worst $15 chicken breast I ever had. My wifes chicken sandwich was nearly as bad. The waitress hardly attended us. She did ask if wed like to speak to the manager after the meals were cold and I told her no because we dont plan on returning. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The wait staff and management seemed disheveled in the atmosphere A bit chaotic. I would have been embarrassed to bring a plate that looked like mine.

Steaks and Ribs are always spot-on, desserts are ridiculously large portions, the sandwiches I ve found are a bit hit and miss. My sister got a grilled chicken kids meal and it was RED/RAW - My other sister got COLD mashed potatoes. My mom ordered the steak fries and when she brought out the wrong thing she refused to get what we ordered. The waiter got are food and drinks ordered and he didn t come back the rest of the our meal .The managers and waiters are not helpful and rude.Be safe and go to Texas Roadhouse instead or at least another place.

First time for me being in this chain of steakhouses. The restaurant was packed and the wait staff was very efficient taking care of everything. They even took time to chat. They looked like a well oiled machine the way they buzzed around taking orders, serving drinks, cleaning tables and not getting in each others way. The interior was decorated in an old western style from the decorations on the way to the steer horn light fixtures. No loud music playing, just the drone of conversations. I only had two appetizers for dinner and they were excellent. They are plenty of steaks and hamburgers to pick from on the menu. If I find another one of these restaurants in my travels I will definitely go to it.

Yes I ordered my food from the to go side had to wait for about 15 minutes no problem due to it s Sunday. But my server Robin while taking my order was going to give me bread that had been sitting there for while. Mind you I had been standing waiting on someone to wait on me before Robin clocked so I asked her for fresh bread and she stated it s fresh with an attitude and went towards the back. Yes I asked to speak to a manager who by the way stated she would take care of the matter. I get the restaurant is busy but no way will I put up with a nasty attitude and I m a customer who was very respectful and professional about the matter. I work hard everyday and it s a blessing to be able to order food and I don t take that for granted. Even being there waiting the server s just don t know how to greet customers in a professional manner. I am a baby boomer and growed up on that yes I know it s a new generation but being respectful and kind goes a long way. The manager was addressed about this matter.

I decided to place a to-go order and called it in, hoping for a more accurate experience than ordering online. Unfortunately, that wasnt the case. There were a few mistakes with our order, leaving out the salad and fries, and the steak was disappointingly dry, without any garlic butter. Its frustrating to wait eagerly for a delicious meal only to be let down when you finally get home and realize its not what you expected, especially after paying a good amount of money. On the bright side, the manager was kind enough to offer an adjustment to the bill, which is better than nothing. Hopefully, the next time will bring better service.

Loved our food and service! The queso fresco with brisket was superb! I had the best tortilla soup with fresh veggies and chicken. I talked about it all night lol! I can go back and just have the soup! The baked potato soup was also delicious. The 8oz steak was so tender and juicy! I didnt get any photos...I was too hungry lol

Was disgusted with the service here tonight. Had a 40 minute wait which was fine it s Saturday night and we had a few of us. After waiting for over 50 minutes, a group of the seating hostesses friends came in with no reservation and were seated straight away. After being told that our Landry membership would get us 1/3 of the time off which we didn t get, we waited another 40 minutes and she then sat another group at the table we were just told by another seating hostess was going to be ours. We walked out. Other than to make myself feel better about venting with this review, it will fall on deaf ears as they don t give a s***. Needless to say we won t be back anytime soon!

Service is great as always. But this place has the thinnest steaks on the planet. Impossible to cook rare or medium rare. Their ribeye should be served with 2 eggs and hash browns. But they still want to charge $28 to $38 for them. Stay away and do Texas Roadhouse down the road. Or better value at McDonalds.

After having lunch with my family at the saltgrass. In the rockwall store, I noticed the store manager by the name of Melissa. Uh, how inappropriate she was with employs and customers. Valentines week, so it was packed and we got takeout for our hotel. Service and timing were perfect, regardless of the fact that they were slammed. The best filet mignon that Ive ever had. Green beans were done perfectly. Definitely going back and can recommend as a steak house to try.
