My husband and I absolutely love this place. Its a spot only locals know about, so its never so busy that you have to wait more than 15 minutes. The food and the staff are amazing. Everything we had ordered in times past has been phenomenal. And, if you are on a fitness journey, its very easy to eat healthy. We always order the Trio. You get to pick 3 of your dips of choice. We go with Tzatziki, fire feta, and hummus. They dont make the pita in house, but it is authentic. For dinner, we ordered the Mahi Mahi and the Lamb Shank. Im not a fan of stewed green beans, so I always swap that out for one of the premium sides, falafel. Both dishes come with orzo rice and the flavor matches the dishes themselves. I havent ordered dessert in a while, but if you plan on continuing your date elsewhere, I recommend taking any of the desserts to go! The owners mom makes the desserts, so you know its made with love.

Best Greek food in the area. I ve yet to find a menu item I don t like. Giro wrap and fries are a bargain and the portions are substantial. Great atmosphere especially on days that allow them to open the large windows between the bar and outdoor patio. When friends come to visit, Onassis is my go to.

Loved it, so glad I found it. We only been here in Rockwall a few weeks (from Houston) and I think we found our go to . Alonso and Austin were friendly, attentive, happy in their work. Manager was also around and happy to chat. Souvlaki was so tender and tasty. Cocktails were a delight and they even made a requested one with googles help Great place, don t change anything.

Place is a great spot for Greek food with a great selection to choose from. My only complaint for me is i wish they provide a little more food for your entrees (outside of the sides). So the price you pay for is slightly higher for the amount of food you get. We had the calamari, lamb shank, and lamb soulvaki all were great just wished we had more of it. I still would recommend this place.

My go-to dish is the mahi mahi. Every part of the dish is lick-the-plate delicious. It s so flavorful and satisfying. I also love the lemon orzo soup as an appetizer. I can imagine all the drinks are good; so far I ve been able to enjoy the Mama Mia and a shot of Skinos Mastiha Spirit! Prefect on a hot mid-summer day. One of my top 5 in Rockwall. Vegetarian options: Mediterranean food is always great for vegetarian options (not vegan). I m in love with their flavorful zucchini fritters

Food was great! I had the big fat Greek burger w/feta fries and a cucumber limeade and my husband had the gyro platter and ended it with a Russian Napoleon for dessert. All food tasted Amazing . The only feedback I could give back was my burger was a little too red for my liking but still had amazing flavor and the Russian napoleon could use more filling next time. Other than that it was a great experience.

The appearance invites you to enter and consume the restaurant. My experience with the staff was not the best, the restaurant was empty and the entire service was rushed. As an appetizer I ordered a lentil soup which tasted like cheap tomato sauce and for the main course I had lamb skewers with rice pilaf and luckily for me the rice was raw.

Chose this restaurant based on its glowing reviews and the place left me impressed for sure. A good collection of drinks - cocktails, Greek beers and wines. Tried the Fix Hellas Premium Lager Beer and highly recommend it. Every food item on the menu looked appetizing. Decided to try the falafel and the Avgolemono Soup. The falafel is great but the creamy lemon rice soup was exquisite. Definitely give it a try. For the main course, it was an easy choice to pick the platter so we could try a lil bit of everything. The gyro and sausage were good but I would probably try the salads the next time Im here. The flaming cheese that another table ordered was a nice display of fire and show. Choice of desserts are tough - tried the homemade buttermilk pie, which is a must try. Did not care much for the Greek Pie. Service was fast and efficient. The owner was checking in with guests to ensure they had a pleasant meal, which speaks to the top notch food and service. The ambiance of the restaurant is great - they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking is available and getting a table was not tough on a week day evening. The restaurant got busy as the evening progressed. Pricing : Moderate. Will I return? : For sure and highly recommend this restaurant for some authentic food and a great time.

We loved the food, but upon walking in, we didnt get a greeting at all from anyone but the server when she came to take our order. We had to ask if we seat ourselves because no one was trying to help us, and it was our first time there. The food was good but due to those reasons (and we were the only brown people) it was unwelcoming and we wont be back sadly.

I have been a long time customer of Opa Greek Taverna and I finally decided to check out Onassis to compare the two. Its a lovely restaurant unfortunately once I sat down the loveliness stopped. The bartender seemed hesitant to help me and then proved to be less than cordial and damn near challenging when I questioned the taphouse name of this location. I dont apologize for expecting more than six taps at a place with taproom in their name. I just dont get it. That is just my opinion. I had intended to have a beer and eat at the bar but I made the decision based on the attitude of the bartender to get my food to go and skip the beer. Once I got home I found the green beans to be a little less stewed than they should be and the Gyro meat was dry, very dry. As I said I frequent Opa Greek Taverna and I know what to expect from the menus that Kostas creates. Im sure he would agree that today they were not up to his standards. I still love you Kostas. Sincerely, The Duke

Recently went for my third visit in 2 years and have decided not to go again. I ll start by saying that even though the restaurant is in kind of a weird place, the design itself is very nice. The first visit was excellent, I had the vegetarian platter which has a variety of components, all of which were great. The second time (about one year ago) I had the same platter and remember thinking that maybe I had blown up the quality in my mind, for as it was still good, it wasn t great. This last, most recent visit, has confirmed that the food is simply not as good as it was. The falafels were pretty tasteless, the spanakopita was pretty good, and the hummus tastes like any store bought hummus. My fellow diner s plate (it was called uncle something or other) likewise had disappointing components namely the chili feta, which was boring and a strange dipping sauce we both believed to be thousand island dressing (or something that tasted very much like it). Finally, the service. No complaints the first two times, but the third time we were essentially ignored (there were only about 4 other tables). Our waitress was on her phone the whole time in the kitchen area and simply forgot to bring us things, as well as take our order after we asked for a minute to look at the menu when she took our drink order, it was about 10 minutes before we finally managed to catch her as she walked by. She spent the bulk of that time out of sight in the kitchen. She was, while not overtly rude, certainly not friendly. The worst bit was that we had asked for hot sauce with our calamari (which was rubbery and mediocre at best) and she forgot to bring it then disappeared again. My companion went to the kitchen to ask for hot sauce after we waited about 3-4 minutes for her to reappear. She was on her phone. When he asked for sauce he was offered Tabasco or Cholula (which, really, no homemade sauce or chili paste or something?) and when he told her which one she said ok wait there a minute then put some in a plastic cup and handed it to him before picking up her phone again. We were sitting perhaps ten feet from the kitchen so this was not some massive inconvenience, but was definitely also a total lapse in customer service. One final, final, note sodas are served in cans. Why would you not just have fountain drinks? The fridges detract from the ambiance as well.

I lhave had every omelet and they re all delicious. If we go for dinner we always get the calamari or the flaming cheese. If you love cheese, you have to get the flaming cheese! My go to dinner is the gyro salad.they have a great patio too. Love this place!

I am always surprised that this restaurant isn t slammed packed! I have visited numerous Dallas area restaurants that were all hype; Onassis is actually a 10 out of 10 without the hype. Every single dish that has graced my palate has been extremely delightful. You cannot go wrong when ordering the garlic feta wings! The chicken is crispy and the combination of the garlic sauce and the cheese crumbles pairs perfectly. The gyro salad is by far my favorite entree. The salad and veggies are always fresh, and gyro meat is portioned well and served warm. The outdoor patio is especially beautiful during the spring and fall seasons. If you re in the Rockwall area during lunch or dinner, I highly recommend giving Onassis a try! Vegetarian options: For those with dietary restrictions Onassis has several vegetarian menu options for you. Parking: Considering this restaurant is located in DFW; surprisingly there s plenty of free parking. There s no need for a valet parking at this restaurant, that expense can go towards a delicious dessert Kid-friendliness: There s plenty of kid-friendly meal options at Onassis. The wait staff are very friendly and there s plenty of booths/tables for family dinning. Wheelchair accessibility: Onassis appears to be compliant with all ADA regulations. There s plenty of handicap parking near the main entrance. They also have wheelchair accessible ramps to navigate to and from your vehicle.

I dont often leave bad reviews. This place has been good for me in the past. Today we ordered 2 entrees and 2 drinks. 3 of the 4 items were messed up. -loaded bloody mary arrived un-loaded. As in, ice and bloody only, not even 1 olive. We also requested the well liquor, but were upcharged for titos. When we asked what makes it loaded, the server didnt know or offer to find out. She did end up getting it loaded after we pressed the issue. -blackberry bourbon cocktail arrived tasting like watered down bourbon, no sweetness, soda was flat, no garnish - wifes food arrived cold. It also was served with no fruit, which is in the description and picture of the plate (and weve had it before). We asked after it arrived and were told sorry we are out of fruit . We were not advised of this before ordering, and no compensation was offered. -satyrs biscuit stack was good, no complaints.

Great spot for some delicious Greek Food and great menu options. Had a little bit of everything over the past few visits and honestly I always leave satisfied. Fish options, Meat, Veggies, etc all here and some great appetizers. My only issue with this place is that it s a bit on the pricey side. I eats at expensive restaurants I don t mind footing a bill but for $25-38 dollar plates and a $150 tab every time I eat here just doesn t feet worth it for me. In NY I can get the same exact plates for $12-$24. There s always always an issue with the waiters, takes a long time to come back around to get assistance. 3x in a row I had to wait nearly 15+ mins for the waiter to pick up my tab or see if I need a refill on my drink and I always have to wave someone down. Not the biggest deal and not a deal breaker for me since I enjoy the food but I thought it was worth the mention.

The salad was fresh and crisp, the gyro platter was fantastic, the hummus was creamy and superb. The feta fries as a side are a MUST. We had a couple of beers, I had the Mythos, which h was perfect for the 106° day it was and my wife had the Kona big wave. Michael behind the bar was fabulous, great conversationalist, very knowledgeable and skillful. Cant wait to have the dude & the garden flower next time we are in. They kept it very air conditioned which was good because I think it was over 100° that day. I ordered the dolmathes well as the spanakopita with some Greek white wine. Everything was excellent, believe it or not for two appetizers I was full. I would come back here in a heartbeat, even a great place to take maybe family and friends and have a nice social chat. Highly recommend.

Ive been here several times and every time the drinks and food are as good as the service. I like the domathikia, which is probably spelled wrong but pronounced right. You cant go wrong with any of the gyros or platters either. I have no gauge on Greek authenticity but I want to go to Greece just to see if it measures up to Onassis.

My husband I just went to Onassis for the first time last weekend. We sat on the patio, which was very nice. The service was great and the food was yummy! I had the chicken souvlaki with potatoes and blistered broccoli. I do wish the potatoes were the lemon flavored potato wedges that were displayed on the menu, but it was still good. My husband got the lamb souvlaki and said the meat was the best. He got the green beans and rice pilaf and we did like my sides better, but it was still really good and well definitely go back.

Ordered 2 orders of fried calamari and a few other appetizers. The calamari orders at almost 15$ were really disappointing, plates almost empty. Diet Coke on the flat side and our waiter was nowhere to be seen most of the time. Also, they do not accept cash which they blame it on crime when they say it s for the safety of the staff. Restaurant is in Rockwall, what crime are they talking about?

Hummus was lacking a little bit of flavor, but the pita was SO good! The Gyros were flavorful and the rice was delicious! They have a good variety of drinks as well.

Visited for the first time on Friday, and was highly impressed. First off, the tall ceilings with the industrial feel and lights was pretty nice, especially with the beautiful bottles of honey and liquor along the tall shelving. Pretty little Greek statuettes here and there, and the open space on a breezy sunny day was perfection. I haven t had Greek food before, and everything I ate here was delicious and unique!! The shrimp souvlaki I ordered was cooked to perfection, and the green beans were PHENOMENAL. Soft, fresh pita bread came with a yummy greek yogurt based dill/cucumber dip with my meal, and the cranberry martini I had to drink had a perfect amount of vodka in it. It tasted good, and I was feeling happy with only one drink (I m a lightweight and don t drink often) My server, Jennifer, was AMAZING. Great service with super friendly recommendations, she felt like an old friend helping you get a good meal. Hands down, I will DEFINITELY come back here again! Ask for Jennifer as your server!

Excellent Greek restaurant in Rockwall. We started with a Smoked Old Fashion, glass of red wine, and a Tequila Sour. All were great, especially the Old Fashion with its smoky ice cube. For dinner we had a Lamp Souvlaki Platter, the Mahi Mahi, and the Chicken Souvlaki Platter. All were excellent, and the Mahi Mahi earned extra ravs. For dessert we shared the Baklava Cheesecake and the Chocolate Cake. Both were delicious, especially the Chocolate Cake. Service was quick, efficient, and very friendly. Ambience is relaxed and reasonably quiet, allowing for conversation. Theres plenty of convenient parking, and theyre very child friendly with a good childrens menu and high chairs. Check em out! Vegetarian options: Theyre listed on the menu. Parking: Plenty of close-in parking. Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu and high chairs. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access.

Wanted to check this place out since we missed all the great Mediterranean options in Richardson. Ordered Grilled Octopus to start, it came out clearly braised to death with a pink, overall shredded appearance with zero grill marks or any char. Still, it tasted ok as we were hungry. It was heavy on the lemon and needed olive oil. Moved onto the Lamb Shank which looked and tasted great and also started digging into the Vegetarian Platter which included most of the items in the Trio Platter appetizer including stuffed grape leaves, hummus, etc. NOTICED A NYMPH-STAGE ROACH on a lemon slice.... Immediately lost appetite, waved our server over and ask what that looked like to them. They took it away apologetically. Server came back and said we wouldnt have to pay for that dish. Manager did not come over to apologize or try to salvage the situation. Did not offer to comp the bill or make any other gesture to encourage us to come back. We paid our bill for our mostly untouched dinner and left. We wont be back.

The original gyro plate is an extremely good value, with a pretty big pile of lamb, bread, onion, tomato & delicious creamy tzatziki. The feta fries pair beautiful well & the rice pilaf is very flavorful. Their drink The Dude features peanut butter whiskey, kaluha as well as cream & its absolutely magnificent with their baklava. The service is good & decently attentive. Do prepare yourself because some dishes come out literally flaming which makes my pyro side wanna work here badly.
