I wasted my time and money by hiring him to represent me for a modification suit. He didnt do much except for filing the suit and getting the case mediated. He charged me $5000 retainer without providing me any itemized invoice. The modification orders were not signed by the judge and the responsible party never followed up on that. 4 years later when i tried to file another suit, the new attorney informed me that the last orders were never signed by the judge. It was after that I approached Mr. McInvale once again and he finally got them signed...4 years later. Total rip off!

Hired Reid for my divorce which was somewhat complicated. I appreciated his professionalism and no nonsense approach to my case. If you are looking for an attorney who will be direct with you and get the case handled in the way you want, then he is the one for you. Would definitely use him again or recommend him to others who need a strong divorce attorney.

What should have been an open-and-shut divorce became a drawn-out waiting game. Without Robert Reid McInvale and his expertise, guidance and his keen intuition and the best eye for people It could have ended differently. He was thorough, unwavering and always available to review and explain every step through the process. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. He always showed integrity and was the true asset to my successful divorce. The reviews of him being rude is so true. I guess he provide Free Consultation he feel he can just talk over you and not understand the case of the matter. I just move to this state from Arkansas and what impression on this state of Texas in Lubbock by far everyone in this state that I have come across is rude and not helpful at all. I wouldn t recommend this Attorney to no one he want let you get a word out he will take one sentence and come to his conclusion. If I would have paid for a consultation would that have change him talking over me. So sad rude

By far the worst lawyer ever hired. Acted like a very nice guy till he got a 6,000$ check and the moment after started being very rude and judgmental. Does not help me understand a single thing in the case and causes drama between my whole family with his non sense. Will force you in to signing legal Court documents you don t understand and do not want to sign. Very horrible person

Terrible Attorney! The absolute WORST Ive ever met! He gave me very bad legal advice and did not care about my case at all! He was very LAZY and the Judge even had to tell him to Stand UP when he addresses the court because he literally wanted to speak to her from his seat. What a WASTE, I do not recommend him to anyone! Youre much better representing yourself in court!

I used Mr.Reid for a child support issue! The mother of my child was trying to get 50k in arrears enforced after we had an agreement not to have child support for several years. He is cut throat and knows his stuff. He will teach you what to say and what not to say, hes honestly so good that i didnt have to say a word at all in court. He comes prepared, left the mother of my child and her lawyer stuttering and upset! He is spendy but the money is well worth it if you want to get a win! I highly recommend him! Thanks again.

Mr.Reid is one of the best! He helped my boyfriend get out of being thrown in jail for a bogus amount of child support arrears the mother was trying to enforce! He is very straight forward and blunt, some say he is rude but i appreciated that part. He is a shark in the courtroom, you definitely want him by your side for the win! Thanks again!

We consulted several lawyers that told us it was impossible for a father to get a Standard Possession Order (SPO) for a child under the age of 3. Robert (Reid) McInvale made the impossible possible and proved them all wrong. Reids possesses an expert knowledge in Child custody and he leveraged that knowledge in 2 court appearances to secure the father a temporary SPO and then later a permanent SPO. Prior to court Reid works with his client to ensure he has the information needed for a successful court appearance. Reid will not fill you with false hope and he will always tell you the truth, even if the truth hurts. Reid did a great job for our family and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking legal representation in a child custody matter. I would also like to give a shout-out Lawrence, Reids legal assistant. Lawrence is always there to take phone calls and answered questions. He was a great help to us. Reid can make the impossible possible.

This guy is no BS. Even I was scared of him. I had a motion to modify a court order filed by my ex that wasnt close to fair or in my favor at all. After my initial consultation with Mr. McInvale I immediately knew he was the kind of lawyer that would fight like I needed him to. Once hired, we had a long meeting and went over everything that we did before (and what I did wrong in my previous agreement), and made a plan to right-side my court order as well as respond to the new one filed. Mr. McInvale and her lawyer spoke outside of the court room and then all of the sudden we were going to mediation. Mr. McInvale then instructed me on how to prepare. After that, we didnt even make it to court, my ex and her attorney settled and what I got was even better than anything the first order gave me. I feel blessed to have found him and will definitely use him in the future, should I need it. If you have a Child Custody/Parental Rights case I could not speak higher of Mr. McInvale. If I could give him 10 stars I would!

Absolutely outstanding. As a father, I knew it was going to be a tough battle to win custody of my child. Reid is by far the most knowledgeable and consistent attorneys to work with. He is VERY knowledgeable in the laws of family court and knows exactly what to say and what not to say. He goes through and explains everything you need to know from start to finish. In the court room, theres no games. He is to the point, keeping the judge and everyone involved focused on the main goal. He took great care of me and in the end I am the sole custodial parent for my son. 10/10 and HIGHLY recommend to anyone needing the best help there is when it comes to family law. Dont waste your time and money searching and interviewing other lawyers. Mr. McInvale did my custody case in 2010 and I have always returned to him when I had an issue or a question. He is a very truth speaking and up front attorney. He is NOT like most lawyers in Houston who will candy coat things and make you believe you have a case if you dont. He is also NOT one of those money hungry lawyers who is inching for fame with the judge. He has a very good way of prepping you for trial, if your case goes to this, unlike other attorneys. He most definitely holds the Lawyers Creed to its standards and one of the only trusted Attorneys I know. Not only is he intimidating (to the other side of course) and confident, but he is professional with his appearance and approach. In the long run I am extremely happy with the results I have gotten from this amazing Lawyer!

Mr. Robert Reid McInvale is the best lawyer Ive spoken to, especially dealing with my very badly written divorce decree. I went to 2 lawyers before we found Mr. McInvale, they charged us about $300 for consultation and gave us no useful advice and basically said because of how my decree was written, they couldnt help me. Then we found by goodness gracious and extensive research, Mr. McInvale. We called him the night before, left a message, and spoke with him the very next morning. It was the best consultation I had ever had!! Well worth twice more than what the first 2 lawyers charged me for a consultation! Mr. McInvale told me what documents and proof I needed to get for my case. After gathering all the information, we went through the court process, he coached me through all of it, how to answer, what the opposing party might say or ask, as if we were in the court room infront of the Judge. He did not leave anything out and told me what all to expect. The day before the hearing, my exs lawyer (law firm rated well over 4 stars) made an offer we turned down. We then showed up to court the next day, Mr. McInvale and my exs lawyer spoke,.. minutes later, my ex husband wanted to plea guilty!! He plead guilty, and was ordered to pay half my attorney fees! Mr. McInvale is the best family lawyer you will ever find. He is honest, accurate, and very aggressive. You need Mr. McInvale, especially if you have a difficult case. Yes, he is very up front and he will tell you how it is. You also have to be able to handle his honesty and his aggressiveness. You want him as your lawyer! His retainers fee was more than the average lawyers, but he is far from average and is worth all of it, if not more!!! I highly recommend Mr. McInvale! We will continue to seek his legal representation in the future!

I never thought I d need to hire another attorney post-divorce, but I ve hired several and decided it was time for me to stop wasting money on mediocre counsel and hire the BEST! I found Mr. McInvale after calling several other attorneys and knew instantly that he was my attorney. The first phone call was returned immediately, he asked me about my case, who opposing counsel was and looked it up. He didn t require me to take time off work and pay a consultation fee. He explained the law, answered my questions and said, Now you just have to decide if you want me! I knew at that moment, I wanted and needed Mr. McInvale on my side. Though this was one matter, he defended me to the end even after opposing counsel refused to draft an Order according to the judge s ruling. As a paralegal, I draft and review legal documents daily and when Mr. McInvale filed the answer in my case, I knew that he wasn t just your ordinary attorney. He filed more than just a general denial . He took the time to draft my answer with case law. He showed up to court early and on time, even before me, and never had me wondering if he would be there. He made me feel as if I was his only client! Even during the disastrous Hurricane Harvey, he emailed to make sure my son and I fared well. Mr. McInvale is PRICELESS! Mr. McInvale advocated for me and prepared and fought like it was his own personal matter. I ve never had an attorney do that. Horrible experience. Just called to ask for a consultation price, but he insisted on asking questions about the case in a very rude and impatient manner and would not allow me to finish speaking. He even laughed at something I said at one point and seemed to be mocking my statements instead of wanting to help. Made it seem like he was against me from the start without knowing anything about me, which is NOT what is supposed to happen. Would definitely NOT recommend, not even for a phone call unless you want to speak to someone who will make you feel very uncomfortable. Couldnt rate lower than 1 star even though thats what he deserves.

Reid is unique in that he is rough around the edges, is a fighter, KNOWS the law and the system, yet is very compassionate. Divorce is hard enough, but add out-of-state and residency issues, and a teenager, it was super hard. He was awesome through the process. He helped me talk through my options so we could come up with a good strategy. He was tough and really helped me keep it together and was with me all the way. Thanks Reid!

I rarely take time to post online reviews but our experience with Reid McInvale has been so good that I want to do whatever I can to help other people find this attorney . it was overwhelming when we started looking for a divorce and child custody attorney for our daughter in Houston. We live out of state and hired another attorney before switching to Mr.McInvale. The first attorney failed to give us the confidence that he would fight as hard for our daughter as we would. Mr. McInvale not only fought as hard as we would for her rights, he prepped her for court and she felt confident through the stressful court experience. Her husband wanted full custody of the children and for her to pay him child support. The court ended up ordering full custody given to our daughter and she received the child support from him We are so grateful for Reids skills as a seasoned litigator. We will be grateful forever that we found Mr. McInvale. He gave our daughter the legal advice she needed, common sense guidance and the support that she needed. He believed in her, defended her when attacked and made sure she received a fair trial.

Ive been a client of Reids for over 10 months now through a difficult contested divorce with child. Reid McInvale was my second lawyer after the first lawyer proved not to be aggressive at all. Reid is a fantastic lawyer and cant praise him enough for the nearly flawless work he has performed during my trial. He is thorough, aggressive as a bulldog, looks like a bulldog and totally shut down my ex-wife and her lawyers. For example, Reid had physical evidence to bring to court supporting my case against her word of mouth, which the court overruled her. Whenever her lawyer would attempt to gain sympathy, Reid would counter instantly with an objection since the topic would not be relevant to the trial settings. Im not the best versed in legal matters. I have a hard time remembering petitioner and respondent. However, Reid guided me through all of the legal malaise with clear and concise direction. He has been extremely fair with billing, and although he is rather expensive, he is worth every penny. Ive saved a boatload of money by going with McInvale than staying with a less aggressive and experienced lawyer. Reid can be rough on the edges and when Im not doing my job, he lets me know it, but thats the way it should be and the man gets things done quickly. Thats what you want with a lawyer anyway. The least amount of work (i.e. money) for the most amount of results. If you want an efficient and clear lawyer that will win, Reid is your man!
