First time coming here, came with my family, food was around $40 for all three of us: 2 #3, 1 #1, 2 16oz and 1 32oz aguas frescas. Food was AMAZING!!! The Barbacoa with a tiny bit of salt IMO is worth it the Al pastor was delicious. 2 salsas green and res your typical, red had some a great kick to it so be mindful, and the green was more flavor but the nevertheless both were great. During my most recent visit to my fav DFW taco stop, I indulged in their lengua tacos, and let me tell you, they were absolutely sublime! The lengua was tender, richly flavored, and melted perfectly in the mouth, paired exquisitely with their homemade salsa and a squeeze of fresh lime. I also can say the carnitas, pollo, and barbacoa tacos are no less satisfying. I make a point to visit this restaurant every time I return to DFW! It s well worth the drive from Allen. Last year, during my first visit here, I made the rookie mistake of under-ordering, which left me dreaming of these tacos for months. This time around, I made sure to order enough to satisfy my cravings, and the experience did not disappoint. The staff were as friendly and helpful as ever, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to any taco enthusiast out there! i can t wait for my next visit!!

My friend (a major foodie) and I live out of the state but made our second annual pilgrimage this year to the grand establishment of La Cocina Del Tio Mon. The owners personally greeted us and we felt so welcomed in such a joyful, clean, and friendly environment. Though we stayed and talked at this beautiful restaurant for about 3 hours, we ate our meals in complete silence to fully appreciate the taste of the tacos. The owner s kind and funny son went out of his way to speak with us, which has never happened to me at any culinary institution. I could see this menu being a mega hit at an event booth/stand and/or pop-up. This would be a fantastic way for the rest of the DFW metroplex to get to experience the flavor of this restaurant. We are already counting down the days for our third annual pilgrimage to La Cocina Del Tio Mon this year.

We tried this place for a late lunch to go. We ordered two burritos. Barbacoa and a Pollo, made fresh and ready to go quickly. The Barbacoa was delicious and made to perfection. The Pollo was very delicious and made to perfection also. It is nice place in a little strip mall. The employees are friendly and helpful. The green sauce is very tasty and the red sauce has a little spice both very good. Look forward to returning soon.

I have been coming here for ~12 years or so. The place hasnt changed much aside from some upgrades here and there. The food has always been amazing. I have eaten tacos from here on average about once a week over the last 12 years. The Lengua is the best ive ever had. Period. And Ive eaten at a LOT of local taco places. The prices are still reasonable despite recent economic inflation driving the cost of everything up. The owner is a very nice fellow and he has a great staff. So thankful that they are still around and look forward to 12 more years of tacos! They also have a meat market at the other end of the shopping center. Im going to be giving that a try next week. They just had their grand opening. Sorry I didnt have any pictures to add. I was too hungry. Parking: There is plenty of parking but if you go during the week at lunch time you may have trouble finding a spot. And the line to stand in will be almost out the door. The place is THAT good. And very popular with the local Latino crowd.

This is easily my favorite spot for street tacos, tortas, and other authentic Mexican food in the area. Ive tried all of their meat options at this point, and I dont think theres a single one that I dont like. With most taquerias that I go to, theres usually one or two meat options that are not great, but this place really executes every option well. Pick whatever sounds good, and you probably wont go wrong. With that said, my personal favorites are their chicharrón, guiso verde, and nopales y papas! Give this place a try! Oh, and they even recently opened a carniceria (meat market) a few doors down!

Just went on 11/25/23 for breakfast, food was AMAZING the most AUTHENTIC you can get out in Rockwall. Tacos, Chilaquiles, Menudo was 1000/10. Green sauce was my fav. The only reason have this place two stars is because I ordered 4 tacos. Bacon, egg, cheese and got myself a coke. Flour tortillas are bought. Problem mission brand. But the real kicker is, almost $18 for 4-tacos and one drink. Then the receipt shows a 4% CONVENIENCE FEE. Fee to order food to go? Did they charge me per ingredient? I would much rather go down to the taco trucks first tacos or pay less for handmade tortilla tacos. Stop being greedy with your cost and don t tell me it s cost of goods. I came here for the first time today. It was during the cowboy game and the place was very clean and organized. I ordered a chicken burrito and 2 beef tacos. As a Latino of Mexican decent, couldnt have asked for a more Mexican based restaurant. Excellent food and service. Passed it plenty of times but only recently stopped by. A hidden gem for sure. Momentarily their menudo gave me a flashback to my time in Guerrero. Finally, the restaurant is a mess. It was dirty with food and dirty napkins on the floor. The tables and chairs are worn and old. I left very disappointed and still hungry. I ordered the number 4 , which was 3 tostados. I said I wanted chicken and everything on it. I stressed I like all the toppings unlike my husband , onions, lettuce, cheese, peppers, cilantro, and avocado. My husband ordered the number 4 also but instructed he only wanted lettuce, cheese and cilantro with his meet choices. He got what he ordered. I only had chicken on one of my tostadas. I bet with all three , I got a total of one tablespoon of Refried beans on them. Not a tablespoon on each but in total. Also only lettuce and cheese on the top. There was one tiny tomato cube on one of them and I saw one tiny sliver of avocado on only one of them. I was still hungry and and so very disappointed. Also don t expect chips and salsa. You won t get it. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that didn t give you chips and salsa and have never in my left one still hungry!! Wish I had taken a photo. We won t be back.
