This is not the same Abu Omar I have always came at. I have been coming here for 3 years consistently as a regular customer and Today I had the worst experience EVER! The lady working at the counter, I don t know who she thinks she is giving me a bad attitude. She is Arab, and the way she s giving me the rude looks and talking in a louder tone with me while I m trying to place my order as any person would. I personally felt really disrespected! I sat down after ordering and seeing her nasty behavior, and just asked after a couple mins of how much is the water, and she litteraly went WHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTT!!?? In a super loud tone .. First off, it s surprising that she s talking with this much of an attitude as a worker, as an owner I can understand but even an owner who is sensible would never talk like that. I want to be super clear, I have nothing against Arabs I actually have a lot of Arab friends with my Pakistani friends I have since I myself am Pakistani. I eat from here not just because I liked the food but since this is Palestinian owned, I always like to support Palestinian owned businesses because I support everything about Palestine whether it s the culture, food, etc. She needs to have sense of what to say and how to say it, there s ways to talk to people and she just talked the wrong way with the wrong person That itself was a BAD experience, she needs to be ashamed of herself and fix up her attitude because not every person is as nice as me. Secondly, the meat was not cooked properly as well, which is why my stomach is hurting too. I am still going to give this business a chance, but I need for the owner to really understand that Abu Omar has a LOT of potential, I have seen the past workers which aren t in the restaurant any more, they prepared the food in the best way possible and they had very good customer service. There is no need to have these type of people in the restaurant who are tarnishing such a business that has immense amount of potential. So please, it is my humble request to the owner, you know exactly who I am I called you earlier in the afternoon. Please fix your team and the way the food is being made. I will definitely come back soon, and I hope to have the best experience like I always did. Not like the way I did today.

WARNING: Prices on their own app/website for pickup are severely inflated. Everything has .50 cent to $2.5 up charge ($0.75 sauce to $1.25) Also make sure your order (+modifiers) is correct before leaving because they seem to always miss the extra sauce or make it spicy option.

Amazing always. I was living in arlington before and that location was always great. I moved to the dallas side and found they had a branch in Richardson. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The people at this location are so kind and will go out of their way to help you. Ive been back 3 times now since moving to this area a few months ago. 100% will be back!

Place was recommended by a friend my family and I went I had a bad experience I ordered 2 chicken and 1 beef chicken is really good but instead of my beef I definitely got LAMB which I hate and tasted nasty for me I went and told the guy and said it was beef I told him this was my first time and It didnt tastes like beef asked if he could smell and exchange and he didnt want to do it. not coming back again for that reason!

I had their shawarma at Eid Festival and was hooked. I finally visit their richardson branch and the food was awesome. Shawarma as usual was great and Zinger chicken was crunchy and tasty. Its halal and tasty. A warm and friendly ambience and staff was extremely respectful and welcoming. Its an hour away from us but I would definitely go again. I wish they had a branch in Frisco. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs for kids and a really nice warm ambience.

I came in at 1:30 on a Tuesday for lunch with my girlfriend. The place wasn t busy, only 7 people in the restaurant. The gentleman behind the counter seemed uninterested in taking my order, and when asked what sides came with the rice bowl, he mumbled salad, garlic . It s possible there was a language barrier, but a smile is virtually universal across languages, and we didn t get a smile. The worker seemed like he didn t want to be here, and didn t seem to be enjoying himself. We both ordered the chicken rice bowl, which was mediocre at best. It was delivered to our table in about 5 minutes, so super quick. They forgot the additional spicy sauce until I said something. The rice was well cooked, but the chicken was dry, overcooked, and tasted like it had been sitting out for some time. The garlic sauce was more ranch than garlic sauce, and the spicy sauce was acrid and overly bitter. The interior of the restaurant was clean, but the music (which I did like) should have been turned down a few decibels as it was hard to hold a conversation due to the noise. Cost for the amount of food seemed disproportionate as well. A little high for the amount of food received. I came here instead of Madina Halal, but I should have just gone there instead. I won t be returning or recommending

I recently dined at Abu Omar Halal, and I was genuinely impressed with the quality of the food. The beef kebab were tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, while the shawarma was perfectly seasoned and served with fresh, crisp sides. The portion sizes were generous, making it a great value for the price. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and despite being busy, the staff (Mohammad) was attentive and quick to serve. If youre in the Richardson area and craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, Abu Omar Halal is definitely worth a visit!

The menu is no frills. They dont have Arabic Salad or tabouli. I got the beef shawarma because I didnt want garlic sauce. It comes with tahini and pickles. The taste was ok. The meat wasnt old but it didnt taste super fresh. The flavor was good and the crispiness of the wrap. I was hungry so I devoured it. The hummus is a disappointment. I would never order it from here again. The portion size is decent but it just ..... isnt phenomenal. The kibbeh didnt look great. You can tell that it wasnt made the day I ordered it. There were some texture issues on the outside. But the taste of it was good. I enjoyed the kibbeh and would order it again. I waited.... 18 minutes for my food. I was starved. There was one family ahead of me. The wait time ...... makes me rethink coming here. The good thing was the shawarma was not greasy and had good flavor. The kibbeh had good flavor. The dining room was clean. The bathroom.... Was not. There is only one room for the bathroom so there is no separate ladies room and the urinal is right next to the toilet and it just felt weird. I really felt like I shouldnt have been using the bathroom in there. Im 8 months pregnant so it was something I couldnt avoid .... As much as I want to support our local businesses, these things make it hard to write a good review. I dont know if anyone had checked the bathroom the entire night. I dont think I would go back again unless everything was closed since theyre open late.

Fully renovated, absolutely amazing food quality (as always) and top notch service. This is now a staple location for us. When they were down for 2 or 3 weeks for remodeling, definitely missed the food from here. The staff is amazing. Always on top of it, making sure everyone feels like the most important customer ever. Very good at handling conflicts and tougher clientele and the lady at the register definitely knows how to keep things flowing smooth and always with a smile. Keep up the amazing work folks. I have been going to this place for almost a year now. Always satisfied and happy with the food and service. Chicken Shawarma with extra pickles is my every time dish and the Indian cashier knows it even before I say anything. He just greets me with a smile and gives me my regular order. Seems like the Arabs got their best cashier as an Indian. Kudos to everyone in the restaurant for doing a great job but please do not put Arabs on the cashier desk who dont know how to speak and behave with people other than Arabs!! Overall one of the best restaurants.

Richardson location. Service was great. Very friendly and open to giving suggestions to first timers (ie me). Food was really tasty. Chicken shawarma was great enough in its own (garlic lovers should be satisfied), but really good in the dipping sauce. Theyre very generous with the fries. Atmosphere is hard to speak to for whats normal, the place is clean and the decor is modern yet cozy (rare combo, but color choices goes a long way), but I was a late lunch, so I was the only one in the place. Ill be back and would recommend. Parking: Lot is small, but other than handicap there seems to be only one reserved spot for the Subway carry out.

The gyro meat is really good. Very tender and tasty! My accomplice got the rice bowl and enjoyed it a lot, although it came in a plastic container that made it hard to mix. I got the Arabic with beef shawarma. Unfortunately the beef was really dry, and the fries were a bit chewy and not warm. The seasoning on the fries is good and kind of saved it.

Very frustrating experience. Ordered 4 shawarmas online at 6:45 PM. I got an automated text saying they would be ready at 7:15-7:25. I walked in at 7:40 and was told they d still be another 5 minutes and he claimed that it was a very busy day. But there was nobody in store and only two people came by to pick up orders during the 30 minutes that I stood there. I finally got my food at 8:00 PM, *15 min after iftar.* If it was going to take so long they should ve communicated beforehand so we could cancel. The guy at the counter wasn t even apologetic or explaining properly just kept mumbling and throwing his hands up. It should absolutely not take such a long time for 4 BASIC CHICKEN SHAWARMAS. Our items came out at different times and we were told to come pick them up ourselves each time. We started on the first couple of items and then were told the next couple were ready. Food is fine not that terrible. Wait time was long. We waited close to 35 mins to get our food and they need to carry better silverware or plastic ware for who dine in. We had kabobs, which was very annoying to eat with their cheap plastic ware for the price you pay for food.

Poor quality and quantity. Tried their wraps and protein over rice items. The wraps are too skiny and lack protein and same goes for their bowls. Its definitely gone down in value and taste. Overpriced for the quantity and quantity. Its not like what it used to be before a few years ago when they would operate from theor food truck. There are better options in the area. Wont go back and do NOT Recommend!
