This place is a gem. I lived in south Florida for a long time and I am so happy we found this place. The food was great, the étouffée stuffed potato balls are out of this world, the Cuban sandwich was about as close as you re going to get outside of Miami. Most of all the service was very nice and very engaging. For the people hating on the price, look around, everything is expensive, you can solve that in the voting booth.

Stopped by to pick up a late lunch - the employee that took my order was incredibly kind and the food was delicious! I ordered the Bella Frita burger - although the patty was very much on the thin side (which makes sense for a smash burger), it was packed with flavor! Overall, it was great. Lowkey wish there was an option for double patty haha. I also ordered the Strawberry & Queso pastelito and would 100% recommend. There was strawberry and cheese filling in every bite and perfectly flaky. Would for sure go back again.

Very expensive empanadas for the size. $3 and they are smaller than the palm of your hand. Also the drinks are very expensive. $3 for cans of imported sodas. I just can t justify it. For the same cans of soda I pay $1.50 elsewhere. The Cuban sandwich was pretty good. It was $12 and comes with plantain chips. The ham croquettes were $2 for one single croquette. Again, expensive. they were tasty but the price drives me away.

Finally I have found authentic Cuban food in the DFW ! As you know many restaurants claim to be Cuban or have Cuban fare but often imitated and never duplicated ! I had the best guava and cheese pastry to start with a cafe con leche then I had a Cuban sandwich and it was delicious! I tasted the mojo roast park and it was even made on AUTHENTIC Cuban bread not French also served with fresh mariquitas or plantain chips ! I travel from Frisco to Richardson to get Bella Flan I am so happy to find a real Cuban bakery in Dallas !!!!

Been here a couple of times already and am happy to say I will be back many more times in the future. First, the cashier/server/front desk woman is extremely friendly. Ordering is easy straightforward, as you would expect. The Cubano is fantastic. Ive had many Cubanos across the country trying to find one that is right for me, and I can say that this is by far my favorite readily accessible one. The bread comes out warm and crispy. The meats inside are hot and juicy, with a perfect balance of flavor between the mustard and pickles. Love it. Their baked goods are great too. I havent been able to try all of them, just a couple, but so far, Ive been impressed. They are perfectly crispy, and the fillings are tasty. Id be happy to have them again. The Cuban flan was fantastic as well--very smooth and tasty! EDIT: Forgot to mention the plantain chips. Never had them before coming here and I have to say, they are SO GOOD and SO addicting. Cant stop eating them! I look forward to trying more that this restaurant has to offer (though that might be difficult, as I love the Cubano so much). Thank you for the great service and tasty food! See you soon!

Bella Flan hit it home run for my hubby and me - hubby loves their Cubano sandwich, espresso, and flan for dessert. The Cubano comes with fried plaintain chips which are very tasty. I always get the black bean (veggie) sandwich with plantain - I love the potato straws on the sandwich! The food is filling and the service is so friendly and welcoming. This is a favorite place to visit after church on Sunday.

Was excited to try this place out. Prices are affordable and reasonable. Menu was presented outside and is on a LED inside. Wish that there was more of a selection for the pre-made items. Ordered the typical Cuban sandwich and liked that its evenly stacked. The sauce was good. Plantain chips were cooked well. There are only a few choices foe the dessert and I think about 4 different flan flavors. Decides to go with the choco/rum flan- it was good! Had a great flavor amd wasnt overly soggy ---until about half way through. The croquette had a really nice flavor but wished that it was a little crispier on the outside. Parking is shared with other businesses but does not take away from the location. The location is on the corner of the plaza.

Such a beautiful cafe with delicious treats! The arroz con leche is not overly sweet, just perfect! With cinnamon on top and a couple of raisins, it was a great blend. We had the Cuban wrap which was a spinach tortilla with the best pickles I have ever tasted along with some tasty pork, ham, and melted cheese! Next time I would like to try it the original way. The wrap still tasted great! The tortilla was crispy and the meat was not salty at all. Had it with some sweet plantains that hit the spot. Can t wait to stop in again next time to try their Cafe Affogato! Btw, the service was very friendly and welcoming.

I brought my husband and 3 young children with me here and drove from Arlington to try their Strawberry Lychee Flan special! It was phenomenal. Ill be honest, I wasnt expecting the service to be SO warm, inviting, and welcoming. I think it had everything to do with the owner, Siv, sitting in the front. She engaged in conversation with me and even interacted with my babies. She made us feel SO welcome... I ended up ordering way more. In addition to the strawberry lychee dessert we originally came for, we also got to try their Thai tea flan, Guava Pastelitos, Pandan Creme Brulee, and their delicious Cuban iced coffees. The quality of the desserts were fantastic. Velvety, rich, and the pastries were flaky and filled with delicious guava jam. I just loved the atmosphere here so much. Its so family friendly. The food and service make this a perfect destination for caffeine and desserts. Start your day here or end your day here... You cant go wrong! Kid-friendliness: Theres a large table right by the entrance that has a high chair there. The trashcan is close by, and plenty of space for the kids to sit. Theres also an outdoor patio with seating that looks perfect for the summer nights coming up. Staff is so welcoming!

I came in late one day only a few minutes before they closed and i was able to place an order for a cake, a chocoflan with chocolate strawberries and other fruits! I picked it up a few days later and oh my goodness the chocolate cake is very delicious and moist, has a very good chocolate taste. The star of the cake us the flan, and it is one of the best tasting flans i have had. Very soft and creamy, my cake was a little on the sweet side, but nothing that the fruit toppings and a cup of coffee wouldn t be able to balance out i will be making my way back to try some of the savory dishes they have to offer!!

It was fried perfectly and tasted amazing. My accomplice got a bella frita burger. It was a unique smash burger with beef and pork. It was not quite for me, but my accomplice really enjoyed it! We also got a lychee strawberry flan cake. Very unique and very fruity. The flan did have some cavities, but it was very smooth. The owner and workers are also very friendly and sweet. This is a cute little bakery tucked away in the corner near Arapaho and West Shore by Tom Thumb. I may be biased, but I didnt like their flan. Its very...thick and too custard like. Its almost pudding. The Tres leches cake was okay. It gave bday cake with milk. I did, however, enjoy the crawfish balls and the CUBANO WITH PLANTAIN CHIPS is fire. Id go back for the food on the menu and Id like to try their ice cream. The Cuban coffee isnt what Im used to but I never pass up the Opportunity for Cuban coffee. When we left, she said thank you for hanging out with us. I ordered the rellena ball, crawfish ball, the Cuban sandwich with plantain chips, 2 of each of the croquetas, and a chocolate tres leches. When I say that everything was amazing is an understatement. Between the service and the food, I was in heaven. Their coffee menu looks amazing, but it was too late to drink any. As a native Floridian who grew up eating the best Cuban sandwiches in little Havana and Tampa, this Cuban sandwich has become one of my favorites! Definitely the best in Dallas. The bread was perfect and it was pressed the way a Cuban sandwich should be although, It needed a little bit butter on the bread and then it would be perfect. I also liked the mojo it came with. Im not the type of person to really go hunting for special, new places to get food from. I like to just take what I find naturally, and find quality in that way. Right near the beginning of my debilitating addiction to Dutch Bros, we visited the Arapaho location of the chain to get some coffee. while waiting in line, my girlfriend and I discussed what we would like to eat. She was looking for something sweet, I was looking for something savory. We looked across the way and spotted Bella Flan, an unassuming spot that I assumed was just a flan-only shop. When my GF looked it up however, we saw they also had Cuban sandwiches and other eats. Curious of this new restaurant, we made our way over. The food was RIDICULOUSLY good. I was shocked. Im no expert in Cuban food, but I liked the sandwich I got more than the ones I had eaten at other places in town, like Latin Deli. I also had a side of these tasty... fries? are they fries? theyre very small, super crunchy and satisfying to eat, but they remind me more of a blooming onion in structure than your standard serving of fries. Either way, DELICIOUS. The star for me, however, is the selection of savory pastries in the heater on the counter. I had never had a potato ball before visiting this place, but they are really amazing. Ive gone in a few times after to just buy one or two of those while working, because theyre a very easy, fast and filling way to get some grub when time is short. One time I even came in specifically to get some potato balls, but when I noticed that they were out, the owner offered to make me some fresh! That leads me into my biggest point of praise for this place, the service. On our second visit, which was well over a month after our first, as soon as we arrived the very first thing we heard was youre back! Personally, I tend to get embarrassed or slightly annoyed when the cashier at the gas station or whatnot starts to recognize me. I dont fully understand why this bothers me, but it seems like a very silly thing to get upset about. Especially considering how I felt hearing that same thing from the owner of Bella Flan. It didnt feel forced or salesman-like, It felt genuine. I think Ive only met maybe 5 or so people in my life who radiate so much happiness and positivity that it can cut through my general feeling of malaise and raise my spirits. I treasure those types of people in my life. Oddly enough though, Id consider the owner of this shop to be one of those 5 or so people Im referring to. I dont know much personally about the lady, but I do know every time Ive gone into her shop and spoken to her, Ive left happier inside. And thats not counting the happiness from the food, Its just really great and uplifting to be able to meet and be taken care of by someone who feels like they genuinely care. Just to note, I dont actually like flan. Ive tried it from many places including here, its just not my thing. Its not even an issue of taste, I just cant stomach the texture. But, since Flan is this places namesake, I will note that my girl thinks the flan here is some of the best shes ever had. And this is saying something, since shes the type to order flan from anywhere if its on the menu. Whats extra interesting is the cultural fusion present in the flavors. The owners firsthand experience and knowledge of Cuban cuisine is pretty well evident in the food quality, but the distinctly Asian taste comes out in the selection of flan, like the Ube and Lychee flavors. It makes for a very interesting cultural intersection that you cant find in many other places, and also tells a story of the influences and personal history the owner has brought to the table from her life. Anyways, I intend to keep coming by this place as long as I can. Theres only so many shops in town that bring this level of comfort and happiness, and I cherish that. Big thank you to the owner, her daughter, and the rest of the staff Ive met at the place. Ive never had a bad experience, and I doubt I ever will. Hope to come visit soon!

This is the closest you ll get to Miami without leaving Texas. The pastelitos are amazing, authentic Cuban coffee, and arroz con leche are all favorites. It s become our Saturday tradition to make the trek from Frisco to get our Cuban fix. Kid-friendliness: Súper relaxed atmosphere

Wonderful little place. Nothing fancy, but the food and service were great. And the warm plantain chips made my meal. I had a Cuban wrap and a side, but I did not have room for any of the Empanadas or flan. They had at least 6 types of flan. I will definitely be back to try both, and I definitely recommend!

Noticed this Cuban cafe after I went to Painting With a Twist! Cuban food is my favorite, so I had to stop by! Got a root beer float which was so refreshing in this TX heat! I also got the Bella Frita sandwich, it was delicious! Came out fresh and hot! The service was impeccable and the cafe was very clean. This would be perfect to grab a quick bite for breakfast as well.

Being Cuban I expect a little more authentic flavors. The Bella Frita is very good but not authentic Frita Cubana, then again they did not call it Frita Cubana , therefore is there own version. Service is outstanding!

The first time I was here I got the pandan flan, coconut flan, and arroz con leche. Everything was delicious. Came back a second time for more flan and got the Ube flan, Cubano sandwich and came with plantain chips and a sauce, Cuban beef potato ball and crawfish potato ball with passionfruit tea and a Cuban latte. Everything was absolutely delicious.

Bella Flan is my weekend go to! Since moving to Dallas from Florida, it s been super hard to find a Cuban place that reminds me of home. Bella Flan has become my Cuban home away from home. The croquetas and pastelitos taste just like a Cuban bakery in Miami. The cafe con leche tastes just like my abuelas. If you are looking for an authentic Cuban bakery experience in Dallas, this is it. They also have Fritas which is super hard to find outside of Miami and they are delicious! It s a family owned business and they are the absolute sweetest.

I am so happy to have found another Cuban bakery in North Dallas/Richardson. Very friendly staff, clean atmosphere and more acceptable hours. Though the later theyre open, the less baked goods theyll have. So next time I need to go early. But their specialty seems to be flan! The cafe con leche flan is excellent. And their cafecito is a must!

Bella Flan has been on our list for a while and we finally got to go. It was SO good. Im not an expert on Cuban food, so I cant speak to its authenticity, but it was delicious and comparable to what weve had in Miami. The plantain chips were fried fresh, the mojo on the side was a welcome addition, and well definitely get the Cubano sandwich again. Took pastries home, and omg. Never had such dense and creamy flan. Unbelievable. The pastelitos were incredibly flaky (they have a gift - truly). Well be back soon - I NEED to get the Ube Creme Brulee.
