Solid four, about the best that a sports bar can get from this reviewer. I had the blackened fish sandwich. The fish was excellent and so was the bread. Putting them together wasnt so good. My wife had the quesadilla. It was good but a bit soggy on the bottom. Definitely worth another visit.

Stopped in for lunch today while I was waiting on new tires. I ve been before and had a good experience. But the server I had today wasn t friendly. She seemed disappointed to have a one-too. What really bothered me is no one came to ask me how my food was or to check in, but my server did a nice job staring at me from behind the bar. When she brought my check I was told whenever I m ready, but she was back in 30 seconds to see if my card was out yet. I felt rushed, and the experience to me was awkward. Do better.

Mixed Experience at Gecko Restaurant I recently visited Gecko Restaurant, a place I have respected and frequented in this area for years. While I had a generally positive experience interacting with the owners and staff, I unfortunately had an unpleasant encounter with the bartender, Jamieson, which marred our evening. From the outset, it was evident that Jamieson was unhappy and seemed to have a negative attitude towards customers. His demeanor was unfriendly and it felt like he resented his job and the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. This negativity seemed to spill over into his interactions with patrons, including myself. It is disheartening to encounter such behavior, especially considering the otherwise exceptional service I have received from the other staff members. I cannot pinpoint the exact reason for Jamiesons behavior, whether it was due to my age or some other issue. However, it was disconcerting to learn that he has exhibited similar rude behavior towards other customers. As I mentioned the incident to friends who were also present at the restaurant, they expressed their own encounters with Jamiesons unpleasant demeanor. This suggests a pattern of behavior that needs to be addressed by the management. In terms of the food, I must admit that it did not live up to my expectations. The quality and taste of the dishes were not as impressive as in previous visits. However, it is important to note that the other staff members and the overall ambiance of the restaurant still held their charm. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the presence of friends, made the evening enjoyable despite the shortcomings. In conclusion, while Gecko Restaurant has been a place I have respected and enjoyed for years, my recent experience was marred by the negative attitude and poor service exhibited by Jamieson, the bartender. It is disheartening to encounter such behavior from a staff member, especially in a restaurant that I hold in high regard. I hope that the management takes note of these incidents and takes appropriate action to ensure that all customers have a pleasant dining experience.

I cant thank the staff at Cafe Gecko in Richardson enough. We held our memorial for my father in law there last night, just as he would have wanted, not a depressing funeral, but a celebration of his life with all his friends at his favorite watering hole, where for the last 10 years the staff took great care of him, friends spent time with him and if he didnt show up, theyd call to check on the guy they all called B-Paw. My wife and I were incredibly touched meeting everyone who knew Bob and enjoyed his company and by the special plaque they added to his favorite seat at the bar. If you havnt been, the food is great, the atmosphere is friendly and the staff is amazing. Thanks , Geckos!

I ve been to Cafe Gekko multiple times. I love the food. It s always cooked to perfection and tastes delicious! The prices are absolutely amazing. I m actually writing a review because I just had the best service I ve ever had there. Maddie was super attentive and took care of our table magnificently. I love Cafe Gecko! The food there is delicious and they are open late which is awesome in Richardson! They have a great atmosphere and often have live music. I enjoy the outdoor seating in the summertime and they have a brunch over the weekends. Service here is good too but often times they get really busy and sometimes can t get to you as quick as you may like. All in all I highly recommend this place it s one of my favorite bars of all time. If you go, you must order the chips and queso it s the best chips and queso ever!

The kids pizza and wings were delicious, and we cant wait to go back and order the full size pizza. The sour cream chicken nachos were good, but very rich. Great local area place to pop in for food to go or stay and have a drink and eat. Seems to have a lot of regulars that live in the area. Everyone has always been super friendly, with the exception one here and there. But hey that happens and we all have a mood periodically. Really good menu, lively place. See a mix of everyone there. I dont think Ive ever left a one-star review, but I sort of had to here. Waited 15 minutes to be served, but the staff were socializing and bumping shoulders with each other while a patio full of folks were left unattended. We asked someone bussing a couple tables if we would be able to order (had asked before at the counter and someone said a waiter would come to our table). The lady went to try to get the attention of a waiter, who was super busy laughing about some stuff with some staff. Then the lady we asked went to do her own thing. Wed heard that people had left this bar before given the lack of service, so we left too and went to the nearby Chilis, where we knew the service would probably be fine.

Vegetarians and Vegans rejoice! Cafe Gecko has a delicious veggie burger for us. They are also great at accommodating special requests. I often get a build your own pizza with loads of veggies and no cheese. The crust is so thin and crispy! We love the neighborhood vibe at Cafe Gecko and it seems they are able to retain their service staff very well. My husband gets the Grilled Orange Chicken and loves it as well. Tonight, the management was again sitting at the end of the bar and magically disappeared. Leaving the bar to just run itself. Yeah, this place was ok. I ordered the chicken quesadillas but they didnt have that much flavor. They do have a good beer selection and also made me Avery good Moscow Mule (called it Deep Eddy Mule).

Cafe Gecko is an amazing bar with good food. Id recommend going here with all your friends for any celebratory dinner or just a fun night out. Parking: Lots of parking spots Kid-friendliness: Its a bar, so not super family oriented.

Came in and had a great experience! I believe Hayden (apologies I cannot recall how to spell it) and Veronica were excellent! My friend and I got our drinks and each tried the chicken basket with waffle fries - and was tasty! I will definitely return. The service was above and beyond and they responded quickly on requests/asked how we were doing. I am now a fan of the place! Thanks

I love everything about this place with one exception. The shrimp cocktail is not traditional shrimp cocktail. Its served with chips and salsa with little shrimp at the bottom of the salsa bowl. I believe that specific dish should be called Mexican shrimp cocktail but Im not sure. Needless to say I was very confused when they brought that dish out instead of shrimp cocktail

Dog friendly restaurant! The staff is very friendly and informative! It s a very clean establishment inside and out. It took a bit long for someone to come give me a drink menu and to take my order but it wasn t too long. I myself was not a fan of the pineapple drink. It tastes like straight pineapple juice with vodka. No rim. No sweetener. Just bland. I came a little too late for the brunch menu and lunch specials but nothing on the menu caught my eye so I didn t eat. My experience wasn t bad but it also wasn t amazing, i can t wait to come back and get the full experience.
