Im from Louisiana and Im down here for work so I decided to try this restaurant. Its in the same parking lot of my hotel so wth. I go not once but twice and each time I could not force myself to eat the food. The first time I thought. Well maybe Im not that hungry. Second time I wasnt alone and none at the table ate their food. It was so bland and had no taste. It was horrible. Im so disappointed.

I had a very disappointing experience at Rancho Grande recently. I ordered an enchilada dinner, and when it arrived, I was horrified to find the meat was undercooked. Which is unacceptable for any restaurant, especially one that serves ground meat in most of the meals ! I immediately flagged this issue to the staff, hoping for a quick resolution. However, I was met with silence. They didn t apologize or offer to fix the problem; they simply ignored my concerns. This lack of response was disturbing. The employees kept awkwardly looking at me after I sent the food back. Not only was the food unsafe to eat, but the poor service made the situation even worse. I left the restaurant feeling disappointed and disgusted. I cannot recommend Rancho Grande based on this experience and will think twice before returning.

We have been eating at Rancho Grande for 10 plus years. We always sit in bar. Yesterday, we went at 5 pm Very few customers in restaurant. We sat down and were brought chips and salsa and drinks ordered and brought to us. Then, we had to hunt for our waitress several times after. CAUTION!!!! BE SURE TO READ THIS AND THE OTHER 1 STAR NIGHTMARE REVIEWS BEFORE EATING AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. ITS NOT JUST BAD SERVICE. As with others, I was forced to pay for alcohol I did not order. They pulled up cameras and tried to embarrass me in front of my friends and family. I was a birthday party table, and after sitting there and reading other reviews about the sheriffs office being called out, I wasnt going to do all of that over the small price difference, but on principle alone, youre getting a bad review and losing a customer of 10+ years. Not to mention the 6 other people with us who will also never go back.

Waiter was rude as hell after she gave us our drinks(she forgot my water) it took her 40 mins to come back and take our order and after asking for the check she threw them on the table never coming back and I hope the waitress liked her 42¢ tip. Don t know her name but she was tall and pale y all should probably fix that or she ll run off more paying customers

Overall, the food is good, but the service could use some work. A must-try is the Birria noodle soup make sure to ask for extra lime and fresh jalapeño to really amp up the flavor. However, on both of my visits, I found the wait staff to be lacking in attentiveness. Drinks seemed to take forever to arrive and were often backed up at the bar. During my last visit, I received a watered-down drink that I brought to the servers attention. Unfortunately, they were unwilling to acknowledge the issue, insisting it was made correctly. Not only that, but I noticed that requests and questions from other guests in my party were either forgotten or met with resistance from the staff, rather than helpful assistance. In short, while the food is worth a try, be prepared for potential service hiccups.

Me and my co-worker sat at the bar on 1/19/24 at around 6pm. We had a margarita apiece and then took shots of patron. They tried to charge us for 16 shots at $11 each, then tried to have the sheriff inforce this ridiculous charge. The manager came out and at first refused to review the camera which we were sitting directly in front of. We definitely knew that we didnt have 8 shots apiece in a hour and a half. The manager comes out the office with a hand written piece of paper saying we had 14 shots. That still was not suffice for me. I wanted to see the camera footage. Meanwhile sheriff trying to tell me that I was going to pay whatever they told us to pay, when I said that I would not he proceeded to call for backup. Finally manager comes out and shows us the camera footage on his phone and it showed us only having 11 shots. He apologized but did not comp us for the hassle or embarrassment. Sheriff comes back in looking disappointed that he didnt intimidate us. Bottom line, watch your ticket because those waitresses will try to get you if youre not paying attention.

I went in the afternoon, I wanted to eat some taquitos and I chose large ranch, the waitresss attention was good, and the tacos and quesadillas were quite delicious, I ordered a pina colada and it was the only thing I didnt like, it looked like juice Pineapple frappe instead of piña colada, its the only thing I didnt like about the place, otherwise I do recommend the food was good and the portions too.

Delicious white queso. Chef Mike cooked both mine and my daughters food. If you arent aware, Chef Mike refers to commercial microwaves. Sure to this the tortillas and enchiladas were slightly rubbery. Might go back for an appetizer and drinks but not food.

I used to say if Im going to a Mexican restaurant Im only getting Mexican food. I always had my doubts on other cuisines at restaurants but thats my fault for pre judging. Today I ate my own words and realized how wrong I am for judging something shouldnt have. I got 5lbs of crawfish and they were freaking amazing!!! Talk about easy peel, great spice, potatoes were tender, the sausage link was great the corn was spicy! Rancho did an amazing job on their crawfish and Id get them again. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking is right at the front door with wheel chair ramps.

Put in the bar area so service was not so good. They need sweet tea because the sugar on the table were hard and not easy to desolve in cold tea but the food was very good. Was one of the only people in there so wasn t busy, was seated and given the smallest basket of chips. Two other guys were seated near us and given two huge baskets full, The service was just overall horrible, one waitress who wasn t our own did come over and refill our chips she was nice. They had no change at the restaurant so she ended up getting a $7 tip which wasn t worth it. Asked for to go boxes and got two tiny ones. This was my first time here and will never be back, I ll be reaching out to manager.

I had their watermelon margarita and wouldn t recommend. It tasted soooo salty. I got their cheese enchiladas and rice, and they were pretty good as were the chips and salsa. My boyfriend thought his dish and drink were just okay. The service was really quick though so that s a plus. Overall, it wasn t bad and I d give them another shot.

We had a wonderful lunch here! On a Sunday at lunchtime, I was worried we would have a long wait or a waitress struggling to cover tables. Neither was an issue! We had a very tasty lunch for a reasonable price and excellent service. Were from San Antonio so I like to think we know good Mexican food, and this is it!
