My wife and I came here for her birthday wanting to try this place out because we had been to the Dallas location before, and we had a wonderful time! Service was excellent, food was delicious (she got Crab, I got Lobster Bisque and sea bass), and our server, Drew, was very friendly and tried his best to make the birthday special for my wife. Definitely recommend, especially to those that are trying to have a nicer dinner and avoid driving all the way into Dallas

Was really debating between rating it as 4 or 5. Food was delicious (but a bit on the pricier side). Atmosphere was great (but that menu that shines a flashlight into your eyes was pretty irritating to me). Service was excellent which is what tipped my scale towards rating it as a 5.

We have been here a couple of times and the food has always been amazing. The service continues to let us down. Our server this time barely checked in on us. We had to ask other servers for things we needed. We came to celebrate a birthday and were tired of waiting that we didn t even have dessert. One of our steaks had to be recooked twice due to being over. Drinks took 20 minutes to come to the table. We love the atmosphere and the food but the service will be the reason we will not return.

First and foremost, my wife and I are connoisseurs. So fine dining is what we enjoy doing on a regular basis. With that being said, Truluck s from the moment you enter the restaurant, the decor, the ambience, is nothing short of a 5 star restaurant. Service 5 star, food 5 star. I feel bad I can only give them 5 stars. Our server Eric was excellent. Even voluntarily snapped a few pics for me and the Mrs. and made us cappuccino that was out of this world. Going back tomorrow lol.

We went for appies early this evening . We were greeted nicely, seated quickly and the restaurant is very pretty. We had the crab cakes, lobster bisque and split a side of the parmesan mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious, served hot and was beautifully presented. Colby was our server and was spot on, very helpful and attentive as were other staff members including the MOD Highly recommend asking for Colbys section! The lighted menus are a very nice touch. Parking is limited for self parking but the restaurant does offer valet. Since we arrived about 5:15 we were able to get a space just across the street. The restaurant is in a beautiful location at Legacy just across the street from the fountain. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and plan to return to try out the bar area and the sushi, on Colbys recommendation.

Came here for our 24th anniversary. It was a very pleasant experience. Food, service, atmosphere were all top notch. They had a nice card for us and sat us at a nice table by the window. My shrimp and scallops over cauliflower rice was exactly my kind of dish. My husband said his redfish with pontchartrain was very good also. The evening ended with the baked Alaskan cake. They really made the dining experience special.

I almost feel bad rating Trulucks with 5 stars. Mostly because Ive rated other fine dining restaurants with 5 stars and most dont come anywhere close to matching the superior level of service nor the variety and quality of food our family ALWAYS gets from this elite-level, fine dining experience. Trulucks is more than just a 5-star restaurant, its an experience that should be shared with close friends and family for any occasion. It was love at first sight, and bite, when my wife and I visited for our anniversary earlier this year. I specifically asked for an experienced server that would help make the night special and memorable. I hoped, at the very least, we would be taken care of by a capable server and have the kind of meal that might entice us to come back. Instead, we found our new favorite restaurant AND the type of server I thought existed only in books and film. I booked through OpenTable, entered my request into the notes section, and hoped for the best. Highest compliments to the hosting staff and managers. Not only was my request taken seriously - it was completely fulfilled from start to finish. The hosting staff even called the day-of to confirm our reservation and ease any concerns I had about making sure our night was on par with my request. Enter, Chris Foster, former executive chef, and server extraordinaire. Never before have we experienced a server that could truly paint a picture of every menu item, on demand, and leave your mouth watering for a taste of every item on the menu! Hes a genuinely nice person who truly cares about the guests at his tables and takes pride in knowing you are completely satisfied with every part of your evening. Calling Chris a server is an insult and a discredit to his craft. Hes more than a server, more than a waiter, more than anything weve come to expect in the service industry. He deserves a title of his own and surpassed everything that defines his position. His knowledge of fine foods and his menu is more than next-level - its on a level all of its own. He makes it seem as though he crafted every detail of the menu and it wouldnt surprise me if he knows it as well as The Chef him/herself. We liked our first experience so much, we brought the whole family back with us 2 weeks later. He had proven he could take amazing care of the 2 of us, now we brought 6 more with us and Chris didnt disappoint! We had been talking him up for 2 weeks and he hit it out of the park a second time! The kitchen and staff was spot-on, again, and we left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. 10 stars for the restaurant, 10 stars for the kitchen, 10 stars for the hosting staff and managers, and 100 stars for Chris. We are going back to see Chris again in 2 nights and we are 100% confident he will wow us again! Cant wait! Chris and Trulucks, see you soon!

Moe was our server and did an outstanding job. We will definitely be back due to him alone. His menu knowledge not only with the food but with the drinks was fantastic and he was quick to answer any questions we had as first time guests. He did a fantastic job with recommendations and just overall service. He set a high standard for sure. The food was quite good as well and my wife is a big crab fanatic so the selection was nice but the flavor was great. Our mains were coursed nicely and we didnt have to wait very long for anything. The drinks were strong but had an excellent flavor and were nice highlights to the meal. The creme brulee was one of the best Ive had. Overall with the combination of great food and seriously outstanding service from Moe we will be return guests as long as Moe is there.

Trulucks Steak and Seafood in Plano offers a dining experience that is both elegant and satisfying. From the moment you step into the restaurant, the ambiance exudes sophistication, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and special occasions. The meal started with a dirty martini, expertly crafted and perfectly chilled, setting a high standard for the evening. The bread served was warm and fresh, a simple but delightful precursor to the main course. For the appetizer, the lobster bisque was a standout. Rich and creamy, it was filled with generous chunks of lobster, providing a luxurious start to the meal. The depth of flavor in the bisque was impressive, making it a must-try for seafood lovers. The highlight of the evening was the ribeye steak. Cooked to perfection, it was tender and juicy, with just the right amount of char on the outside. The steak was flavorful, showcasing the quality of the meat and the skill of the kitchen. Paired with the dirty martini, it made for an indulgent and satisfying main course. Trulucks offers an exceptional dining experience, combining high-quality ingredients with top-notch service. Whether youre there for the seafood, steak, or just a well-made cocktail, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. It s a place where attention to detail is evident in every dish, making it a top choice for anyone in Plano looking for a memorable meal.

We typically love Trulucks! We made reservations for our anniversary on Friday, July 26th. The front desk, bartenders, and our server were all fabulous. The chef, however, was failing that night. We ordered oysters, king crab, stone crab, and filet with mashed potatoes. The oysters were shucked with mud and pieces of the shell inside and scrambled. The stone crab was overcooked and wouldnt come out of the shell and had pink rubbery, foamy crab mush from being overcooked. The king crab and mashed potatoes had no flavor. They tasted like water. A little salt could have gone A LONG way. I asked our server if the chef tasted the potatoes before serving them. We were offered new oysters. The new oysters were also shucked incorrectly and scrambled. They replaced our stone crab. It still had the nasty pink mush on it. The baked Alaska was delicious and my husband had no complaints regarding his filet. We were not offered discounts. I was very disappointed and still am because I used to love going there. I do not want to experience this again, especially for the price.

Thank you for making my husband s birthday so special! This is our favorite restaurant, not only because of the delicious food and vibes but the attention to detail. I wanted to treat my husband to a nice dinner and our server made it so special for us. The Truluck s team even wrote a sweet birthday card for him. I feel like so many service based businesses are losing the art of being personable and focusing on great customer service so when my husband and I find businesses that go that extra mile really try to make it a point to become a loyal customer and tell our friends and family about it. I can t wait to come back and try the key lime pie next!!

Trulucks has been one of our favorites for many years. Late last year they opened this new place much closer to us and we have been there several times including last evening to celebrate our anniversary. Never disappoints. If you are a stone crab fan this is your place. Though there are so many exceptional seafood choices its sometimes hard to choose. Dinner last night was A+ again. Best calamari in town, fresh stone crabs, Baked Alaska and wonderful service from Yaniv and the rest of the staff.

Went here this evening on a date/Birthday dinner. Had Santiago as our waiter. Hadn t been to a Truluck s in quite awhile, but this experience was nothing like I remembered when going to both the Uptown and Southlake locations. The main issue was our waiter. I m not sure if he was new, or maybe just not use to a customer service type position. Everything was fine until my date simply tried to explain to him in detail how he wanted his martini, seeing as the first one was done incorrectly and he went ahead and drank it without any complaints. It was at that part of our evening that it all went from decent to just plain awkward. I ve worked in customer service for 20 years, and unfortunately some people just aren t cut out for it. But beyond that, both my Sea Bass and my date s Trout had been overcooked as well. Needless to say, my Birthday dinner was a disaster! Will not be returning to this Truluck s location again. Sure wish Jasper s was still here. It was always on point.

We have eaten at the Trulucks in The Woodlands many many times and have LOVED it EVRY TIME. Tried the one in Plano tonight. VERY DISSAPPOINTING! Our appetizer was the Tuna Tartar. Tuna wasnt fresh. Wasnt chunks of tune but shredded bits that had no flavor, seemed like leftover tuna to me. The chef had added diced jalapenos which totally took over any other flavor. The amount was about 1/3rd of what we normally receive at any other seafood restaurant. Flavorless and the mango fruit was not ripe at all. We each ordered the BLUE CRAB STUFFED LOBSTER TAILS parmesan mashed potatoes, asparagus, lobster-sherry jus for dinner. It failed to mention there was spinach on the bottom between the shell and the lobster. My husband cannot have spinach due to his kidney stones. The crab was so miniscule it was not detectable by taste. The potatoes and asparagus were COLD, now warm but cold. The potatoes we plain mashed potatoes with no hint of parmesan at all. The lobster was rubbery and over cooked. My husband ordered 2 $25.00/glass glasses of Chardonnay that was barely mediocre. The only positive was our server who was better than average but not the quality as The Woodlands location. It was a total waste of $229.00 including tip. We will certainly never return. Parking: The valet was guys (certainly not gentlemen) who apparently we only thinking of their tip. We drove up in an SUV with a handicap placard on it. I was in the passenger seat and the one who needed the help. However the valet opened the door then dashed around to help out my husband who had to go around and help me out of the car. Certainly not Texas Southern manners at all. Wheelchair accessibility: NOT. The valet area doesnt have anything but a curbed area. Not handicap accessible at all.

Service was poor and not attentive. server took a while to get a straw and my refills were not coming at all. I hate to eat and my glass to be empty. My dish was indeed delicious. When I eat at the Southlake location, the manager stops by the table to greet us and ask if we need anything. I love when the manager make the customer feel VIP. At this location, I noticed few managers but none bothered to stop by. Another thing I like about upscale restaurants like Capital Grille, Del Frisco and Fleming s is that they offer bread and Truluck s doesn t! I waited for this restaurant to open and expected to be swept off my feet but didn t!!!

Outstanding food and service. The only reason I dropped the rating overall was 1. Pretty loud, not a lot of soft surfaces to absorb sound so you have to speak up to be heard at your table, and with a large room doing the same its louder than I prefer at higher end spots. 2. Wine list is so-so. Found a bottle we like, but with no Som on staff and our server, while a super person, knew nothing about the wines. Selection was limited compared to say 3 forks or Al Bernats, or most other competitors at this level. All that said however, we felt the food portions were great and the price points were comparable, and a bit better, than the same competitors. Go early and grab a happy hour drink before 6pm. Parking: They have several garages within a 10 min walk all along the street.

Both branzino and steak was very very salty, Side of mushroom had zero salt and the side of broccoli was very spicy. The food was not poor quality just seemed like the the spices were off. We returned the steak and waited 20 mins second steak arrived wrong temperature this time. We sent it back and decided to just call it the night. The experience at this establishment pales in comparison to its Addison counterpart. Despite our request, the hostess declined to relocate us, seating us near drafty windows exacerbated by a powerful air-conditioner. The experience/foodwas very, very disappointing. The positve was the valet person, the hostees,Josh and Jaime. On our arrival we had drinks at the bar, it was dirty. The food had no taste very, very disappointing. Do you have a chef or a cook? NO Tablecloth for a fine dining restaurant?. The black mats were cheap and held food in the net.which mean our table was dirty thru out dinner. Table was never cleaned. Downtown Trulucks is the best, this Plano location is a no go. Will never be back.

We are so glad Truluck s finally opened a restaurant in Plano. The restaurant opened December 11, 2023 and this was our first visit. We were celebrating my husband s birthday. The restaurant is beautiful. Most striking were the very tall bouquets of spring blooms. We ordered the Salt & Pepper Calamari for an appetizer. Very, very good! My husband ordered a full Seared Sea Scallops with wild mushroom risotto and lemon vinaigrette. I ordered a petit Miso-Glazed Seabass with crab fried rice and chilled cucumber slaw. Both dishes were fresh and hot, attractively plated, and exceptionally good. Since we were celebrating, we ordered cocktails. My husband ordered a House Old Fashioned and I ordered the Stonefruit Rita. Very nice. Truluck s is the perfect choice for a special occasion or celebration. It appeared that most guests were celebrating based on the quantities of alcohol consumed. The restaurant was packed and most guests were well dressed. The restaurant is pricy but worth the expense for a special occasion.

Not surprisingly, this is a lively Truluck s location on a Saturday night. The bar area was nearly full, creating a claustrophobic effect the way it s trapped behind the hostess stand. By contrast, the dining area is spacious and the ceiling area is lined with faux windows that have a nautical feel, like the designated area for the rich people on the Titanic. While the bar area (although snug) is vibrant, everything else is backlit by open menus and checkbooks. It s as if they each contain part of Marsellus Wallace s soul from Pulp Fiction. I suppose it s an upgrade on straining to read using a votive candle or showing one s age with a smartphone magnifier, but still. It can be a bit disorienting if you don t expect it. The service was fine but also very corporate more focused on the upsell than the guests well-being. Maybe that s OK they are running a business, after all but it s hard to know which upgrades are worth it when the server suggests all of them. It s going to be overpriced no matter what, so some tailored guidance regarding the splurge would have been helpful. Left to our own devices, we ordered the miso glazed sea bass and the 8 oz filet (medium rare). Both proteins were perfectly cooked, and the peppery char on the filet was spot on. My splurge was adding lobster to the Mac & cheese side for an extra $10, and that s the one thing I would not recommend doing. The pasta occupies most of the crock-like bowl, so the lobster meat crumbled on top looks more like an afterthought. Also, it s difficult to serve oneself without the lobster meat falling to the table on either side of the bowl, which made the upgrade feel like an even worse choice. Maybe take a second to mix it in instead of leaving all of the sauce at the bottom. Aside from the lobster confetti fiasco, this was a top notch experience and definitely worth a return visit, at least to resume the quest for the right splurge item. Will the next server help us narrow it down, or are they all programmed to upsell the same way? Let s find out!!

Wow! Last night was soo amazing! Initially I planned on attending Nobu for dinner, but when I arrived the location was closed/reserved for a private event. (That they failed to announce on their site before I arrived) Disappointed I googled the nearest restaurant since I live in Frisco and had taken an Uber there knowing I might decide to have a few drinks. Thankfully, Trulucks was literally across the street, so I made my way over and was greeted by the hostess who informed me that there was seating at the bar! I was able to quickly find a seat, but then I noticed there was a table right in front of the gentleman who was performing live music! I immediately went over and Im sooo grateful I did because the musician was absolutely incredible! Clay Davis is a star and he alone made me realize the Nobu situation was a blessing in disguise! When I say his performance was the highlight of my night, I do not exaggerate! He is very talented and I enjoyed him more than the actual food. I ordered the lobster fried rice, creamed spinach, and ribeye steak. Honestly I was unimpressed with my meal, it was mediocre at best, not bad, but not good. I usually go to Ruth Chris or Del Friscos for my steak, and although it was close to the same price, the taste was inferior. Even still, I would recommend Trulucks based on the ambiance, the service, and the entertainment. My waitress was very friendly and attentive as well. I personally wouldnt eat there again, although I definitely would return for drinks and Clay Davis. Overall my night was so much fun and so amazing and I am extremely grateful that I left happier than expected!

Regular date night. We decided to go to Truluck s. The food was definitely good. The atmosphere was lovely and the restaurant was beautiful. We were immediately seated. The hostess who seated us was pleasant. Our waitress Grace was really sweet and we enjoyed her. The manager Dutch even came by to ask how our food was. We had the crab cake appetizer amazing! Full of crab meat with a dill tartar sauce. We also ordered the lobster bisque which was just ok. It lacked flavor. Our main entrees were the Miso Sea Bass with crab fried rice, Redfish Ponchartrain, Petite Lobster Tail Scampi, Lyonnaise potatoes, Parmesan mashed potatoes, pan seared broccoli, Carrot Cake, and chocolate cake. The Miso sea bass was so tasty and the fish melted in my mouth like butter. The redfish came with crawfish, rice pilaf and a Creole sauce, which was extremely tasty. The petit lobster tails and pasta was delicious and light. Most of the meat in the tails came off easily. One gave us a little trouble. The lyonnaise potatoes have a crunch on the skins and have onions in them as well, very good. Parmesan potatoes were good also. The broccoli was seared and had Parmesan on them with lemon. These were yummy! I also had the Voila drink and the Stonefruit Rita, both refreshing. We ordered the zero proof Ginger Limeade, delish! The Berry Patch was ok, more of a milky consistency, but good. Parking: Free parking on the street. Parking lot is behind the building and open parking before 4pm. After 4pm Valet uses it. There is a parking garage available also.

My wife wanted to take me to Trulucks ever since she went with her family once! The atmosphere was beautiful and elegant, and the service was top notch. The steak was the best steak I have ever had (1st time trying dry aged) and I loved the roasted garlic (always wanted to try this) as its mellowed out the strong garlic flavor and leaves a nice sweet caramelized flavor. Neither of us are seafood people (crab, lobster, etc) but we do love sushi/sashimi and I love fried fish. But with the Valentines day special, we wanted to try it out! The King crab leg was scored across the length so it was easier to eat, however it was still difficult to get every bit out. The lobster that came with my wifes pasta was really hard to get out, but tasted amazing. So those 2 details and then there being a couple shards of bone in my Ribeye made me feel like the food wasnt 5/5. We would come back though! Definitely recommend for a super nice night out!

This was our first visit to the Truluck s Plano location; upon our arrival, we were greeted professionally by the valets and once inside, we were warmly greeted and led to our table. Our waiter arrived and he started out very professional, but it seemed as time went on, his service started to decline. For instance, once we placed our drink orders (iced tea), it took an unusually long time for our drinks to arrive. When the drinks arrived, we asked for straws, and once again, it took forever for our straws to arrive. After we placed our food order, it dawned on us that no complimentary bread was delivered like The Capital Grille provides; we asked our waiter and he said there is a charge for bread, which I an okay with but ..why not mention it when you first greet us????? Yes, I still left a good tip!!! Our food arrived and my dish was just okay, it wasn t cooked the same as Truluck s in Southlake. When it was time to pay, our drinks were finally refilled after sitting empty for quite a while considering this is an upscale restaurant. Lastly, since this location is new and in a lower traffic area of the Legacy footprint, you d think that management would stop by the tables to greet the guests, never happened!!! This place had potential, but for now, we ll stick with The Capital Grille!

I know that might sound silly, but when you rest your silverware on the plate, it ends up in your lap (they are pretty, but oddly shaped). Its ridiculous and so frustrating!! She told us exactly what to order and the kitchen did not miss a beat!! We ordered two types of sushi rolls, Stone Crab which was heavenly and precracked, shrimp cocktail was jumbo and perfect, and the blue crab avacado dip with plaintain chips Then my collegue left and I came back to have dinner and the redfish pontchartrain was beyond amazing! They allow you to order two different portion sizes which I think is brilliant. I am thrilled we finally have our beloved Trulucks in Shops at Legacy East!! The interior is magnificent, the chefs concepts, Dutch the manager is superb as is the friendly staff at reception. AVERAGE AT BEST. I will say the restaurant itself is beautiful & the wait staff was superb but sadly, it ends there. From over salted meatballs to rubbery lobster tail, almost every item our table tasted left us underwhelmed. The stone crab claws (which aren t truly prepared by the restaurant) were the best thing we tried. The side dishes were uninventive and bland, even down to the newly added lobster mac & cheese. At $200+ a head for our meal I expect to leave a restaurant blown away by flavors and over the top creative dishes. Trulucks was nothing but a disappointment. I d suggest any other steak house option in the area, as there are several.

Anybody who left less than a five star rating for this location is absolutely insane. I had a booking error that I didn t catch until last minute. I reached out via the website, which is the only way to get a hold of them. I also called the phone number for the location, but it only gives you the option to leave a message. Having to wait in anticipation, for a callback, was the only bad part about my experience here. A manager called me back first thing the next morning. It was a female, and she was so accommodating. It s rare that somebody sounds like they actually like to be at work lol. She help me with my schedule conflict, which was for the same day and saved my date night. Our server was also amazing. He truly went above and beyond the entire time we were there. We had cold crab claws, surf and turf, oysters, and a few other items. I didn t mention the decor, but when you walk in the restaurant, it is stunning. It looks like something out of a storybook. If it s the vibe extremely well for the Frisco/ Plano area. Night two: tuna tostadas - should be removed from the menu - terrible quality. Redfish Pontchartrain was inedibly salty and far too much seasoning, shrimp cocktail was bland and overcooked. Crab fried rice meh. We re looking forward to maybe some other mains being better quality next time.

My coworkers and I came for happy hour and appetizers. The bar is impressive with the flowers and lighting. BJ, Emma and Andre are some of the nicest and most personable bartenders you ll ever meet. I was so happy to see sushi on the bar menu. We tried the Legacy pressed roll and the Forest roll. If you enjoy more traditional sushi, get the Legacy roll. If you like garlic (and Boursin cheese) the Forest roll is amazing. Different and delicious. We also shared the hot & crunchy shrimp and the hot honey chicken bites. The chicken bites were my fav as they re tender and juicy with just the right amount of spice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Truluck s Plano. I will be back as a patron again and again.
