Tried the bulgogi and spicy noodle bento box and the coconut udon soup. The bulgogi was amazing, was not a fan of the chicken noodles, turnip cakes were okay. The soup however surprised us with how good it was. Amazing coconut flavor with a sour aftertaste and the noodles were cooked to perfection. While the food here was great, the service left a lot to be desired for. While the woman who got us seated was great, the person who took the order was not. This was our first visit and when I inquired about what dishes were popular and if she had any recommendations, she came off as cold and not very helpful. Not the kind of service you expect on your first visit. When the food came out, turned out she had put in the wrong dish on my order, I had specifically ordered the bulgogi bento box, but she had put in and tried to serve me the bulgogi bowl. Not a big deal, mistakes happen, maybe she was not having a good day. She did correct the order and get me my bento box. Now, will I be back? Absolutely. The food was amazing and I can t wait to try out the other items on the menu! Pricing is fair too.

Wonderful halal fusion restaurant with great staff. We were a large party with 8 adults and 2 kids and we had 3 staff members to help us keep our food organized, prep and label the to go boxes, and make sure we were well taken care of. Food is not bad. Service is on point in my opinion. Was very surprised though that there were many Eastern Asians and Middle Easterns frequent this place. It s a Korean bowl/box influenced restaurant, I kinda expected more of a different demographic. However, there is NOTHING wrong with who eats there. I m just pointing out my observation and it s great to see cultures come together. I d go back again to try the toast. The spicy Korean chicken bowl was good. Definitely has a kick. The kids lomein was not really impressive as the noodles were soggy. But overall pretty good.

SUMMARY: favorite restaurant turned HUGE disappointment. We will not be returning. DETAILS: We have been to Wave Bowl several times, the food has always been top quality, flavorful, and fresh, and we have recommended it to all of our friends and family. Two weeks ago, my uncle and his whole family ate here for the first time and hated it. They said out of the five dishes they ordered, one was okay and the rest were horrible. My cousin even got sick after eating there. I refused to believe anyone could hate the food at Wave Bowl. So much so, that I wanted to prove my uncle s family s dining experience there as a weird outlier, and my husband and I decided to go to dinner there for date night. **Tamarind spicy wings. Absolutely inedible. There was a horrible smell to them, like the meat was going bad. The wings had been delicious every time we had visited before, but they were so bad this time that I had to spit out the first bite I took. We informed the server, she apologized and took the plate back. No manager or lead came to apologize. No refunds were offered. We aren t one to make a scene or beg for a $7 refund. So, we hoped it was a fluke and waited for our entrees. **Sweet and Spicy Korean Bowl: Horrible. The meat seemed to have been cooked a while ago. It was stale and cold, and the flavors were just gross. The fried rice that came with the dish was cold. It definitely was not made fresh, and wasn t even reheated well. I couldn t eat more than a bite of each the meat and the rice. I wanted to return it, because I seriously thought it could make us sick. But seeing as the returned wings didn t lead to anything, we didn t see a point in bringing up yet another issue especially since after trying this dish, we had decided that we will never return to Wave Bowl again. $15.50 before tax down the drain. **Korean Ribs: This dish has always been my absolute favorite thing to get at Wave Bowl. Today, it was just average. The ribs were at least cooked fresh. However, they have either changed meat suppliers or have opted for lower quality meat from the same supplier. The quality of the meat was nowhere near worth $18.50 before tax. Goodbye, Wave Bowl. We used to love you. It s you, not me. And we ll make sure to tell all our family and friends about how things ended between us.

So if you are looking for Korean cuisine this is NOT the place. Unfortunately, this simply comes off to be a spin-off on the already established Thai halal restaurant Thai Noodle Wave, but they have just added a twist and it s a more casual restaurant. The entire menu is confusing because you think it will primarily be Korean or Korean influenced, but from the entire menu, there is only less than a handful of actual Korean cuisine. The menu has Japanese items AND paratha and curry listed items which is Indian not Korean at all. The prices of the items are very expensive for it being casual. Some items cost up to almost $20 per dish, and unless it s the best quality ever and some sort of amazing restaurant experience, their food actually should go for $10.99 in my opinion with being an experienced foodie who has traveled a lot, has had all of these cuisines and one who appreciates good quality, and doesn t mind paying money if it s worthwhile. The restaurant itself also is very mediocre and just okay. They ask you if you want to tip as you re paying (another self-serve counter) where you order and simply sit. There is no servicing you get your own utensils, napkins, and water which is all in plastic form. There is no reason why they should offer that unless someone wants to graciously tip, and no reason why it should be this costly to get basic stir-fry dishes. Sorry!

Summary: You want bento, you want Wave Bowl. I m glad I found Wave Bowl for bento box deliciousness, try them first and often. I got this for takeout and, was happily surprised at how smart they packed the food no spillage at all! The food was prepared efficiently so no time was wasted from ordering, (thx Megan for the help with special substitutions), prep and pack, and making it home to enjoy. Next time we ll order in, the spot looks nice inside. As a pescatarian with some other dietary restrictions(plant-based), Wave Bowl had many options and my Green curry Tofu + Teriyaki Salmon was very flavorful! As a fan of spice the kicks up the flavor, my tongue has been dancing after tasting the kimchi and turnip cakes very VERY GOOD! Oh the Udon Suki (with tofu) was savory and felt so so cozy delicious. Now for dessert, I had to try the Mango Mango delight, ! I ll be back with the whole family and friends because I m hooked after one visit. There is so much more of the menu to explore. Come for the bento box, stay for so much more!

My friends traveled all the way from Denton to experience Korean cuisine for the first time, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Heres a revised version of your review: We had an amazing experience at Wave Bowl in Plano, Texas. The food was exceptional, and the service provided by Dan and Alyssa was outstanding they were attentive and knowledgeable, addressing all our inquiries. The Asian fusion concept adds a unique flair to the dining experience. Located behind the former Chick-fil-A on Preston and the Tollway, its definitely worth a visit!

Date night with the wife. Its hard to find Korean food with japchae in the Plano area, this place has it! Wife has the japchae bowl, I had a teriyaki hot stone bowl with an extra egg. Appetizers were Korean chili fries and crispy curry chicken rolls. Our meals also came with complimentary bowls of clear broth soup. The food overall was better than mediocre. Not horrible, not fantastic, just ok. Service was very good and attentive. Clean, and updated decor. Better option than fast food by far, just not anything to write home about. The menu has many unique and intriguing options. Good lunch place.

Paid 17 dollars for a bulgolgi rice bowl only to have bulgolgi, onions, and rice in it and a VERY tiny container of kimchi. For the amount of food and no drink this is not worth the price. Everything in the store after lunch is more than 15 dollars so if you want a drink and food be prepared to pay at least 20. Ive had better Korean food else where.

The bbq bento box and the sweet spicy beef bowl are delicious. We order them every time we go. We went there for Feb 14 and the server gave us a complimentary cheesecake at the end. It was a really sweet gesture it made my wife very happy. I want to thank you for that really appreciate it

This was my parents first time having Korean food. We were happy to know they serve halal meat (confirmed onsite). I ordered the Korean hot wings, udon curry soup with chicken, beef bulgogi bowl, and BBQ short ribs bowl. Ive had Korean several times; this was pretty good! The food came out fast and portions seemed appropriate. The flavors were what I expected. They have napkins, silverware, sauces, and free pandan water in a drink dispenser for self-service. It wasnt very busy as we went in on a Tuesday night but there was consistent business. It was my dads birthday and they provide one of their dessert toasts as a birthday gift. ***You have to show your ID*** This was a full sized dessert with two scoops of ice cream. We were impressed! They were short staffed but it didnt make a difference for us. You have to order at the counter and then pay there as well. Megan was our server and had a great attitude; she made it worthwhile. Id recommend. They also have lunch specials for ~$10 from what I saw in the menu.

Food is beyond delicious every time. Spicy Thai basil bowl, cheesy chicken curry, and Mongolian bowl are the go-to. Portions are big enough to split or take home half and then eat a honey toast. Nutella toast is my favorite. I highly recommend this hidden gem and, for scale, I will drive 30 min out of my way in Dallas to go even in traffic.

Sukiyaki Chicken Bowl was pretty good! Don t know if id get it again, but it was nice. BBQ Rib Bowl wasn t great cause it was much too chewy, there wasn t enough sauce, and the rice had no salt so make sure you add some soy sauce or request more sauce cause it s a bit bland otherwise. Next time I ll try the Chicken Katsu Bowl and Spicy Miso Ramen because those aren t on the menu, but they look pretty good.

I don t know why I haven t put a review here yet. We ve been going to this restaurant since we moved here, and everybody here is like family and we feel like home. As soon as they see us (usually me and my son) coming, they give us smiles and know our usuals. Love everybody here, LOVE the food and the fact that everything is halal! Complimentary soup is amazing! I sometimes ask for another bowl . Honey toast is finger licking good (tiramisu is our fave). Korean beef burrito is a little sweet with a good amount of spiciness.

Some of my family favorites are the Japanese Paratha Bowl and the Spicy Korean Burritos.... I order the same thing and it NEVER disappoints! Dietary restrictions: If youre gluten free... I have found my favorite Japche spot. I have been eating Japchee for years. Although I am not Korean, this tasted as if it was homemade. It had a nice smokey sesame sweet flavor. The noodles were not as thick as the ones that I had previously. And that was a good thing. The meat portions were very generous. I like that they provided us with a complimentary soup and Pandan leaf water. The soup was amazing, and the water had a really refreshing taste. One of my companions had the Cheese Curry, which had a delectable taste. The flavoring was just right. The other had the Korean Chili Fries and the Korean spicy wings. The spicy wings were a great combo of sweet and spicy, and neither was being overpowering. I returned and I was not disappointed. This time, I ordered the sweet tamarind chicken wings, the turnip crispy loaf, the spicy tacos( they bite), and a childs beef plate. Everything was amazing. This has become one of our favorite spots. And to my surprise, they remembered my family and I.

This place is so amazing that I ve been here two days in a row for lunch. It s also so amazing that I m actually writing a review. I got the Korean beef burrito. It comes as a taco with a soft shell that is delicate, fluffy, and delicious. My wife got the udon coconut creamy soup and it looks absolutely delectable. Don t forget the Thai tea!!!!!!! One of the best halal restaurants in DFW! They have a large menu with amazing choices. I recommend the beef bulgogi bowl or the wave racha bowl. Food is a bit pricey, most entrees are $15-$20. Regardless, some of the best halal Korean fusion food I ve had.
