Food & Service 10 out of 10! Went for dinner with the family. We ordered Branzino, Salmon, and Lasagna. All of it was very tasty. The Branzino was excellent. Seasoned very well and piping hot when it arrived to the table. We will be regulars. Service was also on point! If you are craving Italian, Tazerna is the place!

I had an excellent time tonight! I was celebrating my birthday with friends. The atmosphere was fun and lively. It was packed! We were sat immediately! The server was awesome, and gave us excellent recommendations! The food was excellent! We shared the zucchini chips for a starter, and I had the carbonara! Both were very flavorful and delicious! They also sang Happy Birthday to me in Italian! It was such a fun night! I will be back!

Food was hit and miss. I had the lasagna; if tasted as it came out of plastic pouch; only to be heated. Bland. Definitely better dishes at other Italian restaurants. The Margarita Pizza did taste fresh; and tasted well. The Italian Old Fashion I ordered was made with a lower quality alcohol than the online menu stated; apparently the recipe changed. Someone should updated us that the drinks would be different; and dont be proud when asked about it that you are using a lower quality whiskey. Overall not very impressed in the hopes I would based on stories of an older location that is no longer there. Service was slow; it seemed the waiter had multiple tables spread out over the restaurant instead of sections together; inefficient at best on how they do this. Parking: Legacy West Parking Garage; Right there easy walk.

We came to this restaurant with a party that grew and grew and we were eventually 18 people. The restaurant kept making room for us and we were appreciative. The food was very good. I personally had a burrata and spaghetti carbonara, both were at the top of their game. I think the most impressive thing was that we were 18 people, and when it came down to the food, the kitchen was on fire. All the food came out steaming fresh hot and all 18 of us got our food within just a few minutes of each other.

Like many things I ve found in the Dallas area, this is another restaurant where you are paying a premium for an average experience. The restaurant is loud and the seating area is very crowded with small tables which makes the concept of ordering multiple appetizers to share almost impossible. Which is why I gave the atmosphere only 3 stars. Our service was fairly good with the exception that it took a long time to get one of our drinks. She was, however, very careful to remember one of our diner s dietary restrictions and warn her when there was an item that was an issue. We had the fried zucchini appetizer which was wonderful, and the focaccia was equally tasty which kept the food at 3 stars. The main dishes were very disappointing though. The pasta dishes my fellow guest ordered were unimpressive, a chicken ceasar salad came out wrong the first time and had to be sent back, and the salmon dish was the smallest filet of salmon I ve ever seen at such a high price. I had the waygu beef burger and not only was my medium preparation inexplicably burnt on the outside and pink in the middle but if that s waygu beef, I don t get what the fuss is about because it tasted no different than a burger I could have had at any sports bar within a mile of this restaurant. Really, if I would have just had drinks, zucchini, and bread, I likely would have given this place 4 stars but the main dishes brought it all down. Won t be back. Dietary restrictions: Difficult to find vegan or gluten free choices.

We started at the bar to wait for a table and the drinks were great, great taste with a good pour. Great traditional selection of appetizers and great tasting entrees. The atmosphere is energetic and maybe a little loud, but the food and service make up for it. Definitely will be back for more.

We had a great lunch experience to celebrate my coworkers birthday. Good food and great company. We were greeted and seated quickly upon entering. I consider that a big plus. The staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and our server had great suggestions. I was a bit surprised, because I didnt expect the focaccia to be in the shape of a pizza, but it was okay. I had the linguine All Frutti Di Mare, I do feel my dish was lacking a bit of flavor, but it was well prepared. I will be returning to try more menu items. Good vibes and ambience. My girlfriend and I we were excited to try this spot. We ordered the muscles and meatballs and were looking forward to the rest of the dinner. My girlfriend and I eat muscles frequently and sea food. However the muscles came out and we could smell the ammonia. The table behind us smelled it as well. My girlfriend and I lost our appetites. We left the restaurant. The chef and manager did come out and apologize and said one or two might of turned but it smelled like the lot of it did. They also offered free desert and more. They were kind people. We also attempted to open and try the muscles they were stringy and very wide open. The service was great. The waiter was kind and attentive. We both are concerned about the shell fish we were served.

Not the best Italian in the Legacy West plaza but far from the worst in town. The food was alright but not great. Got the wagyu gnocchi dish, finished the whole plate, not because it was amazing, because they did not give you a lot. This place is expensive for what you get, in my opinion. The physical plate is huge but that was it. $26 ish for this. Was here with others who generally eat by pecking at the food and leave half of it on the plate even if they love the dish. But even they finished their food because it really wasnt much to eat. I also tried the truffle something pasta noodle dish, that had more flavor but of course its truffle. Also service here wasnt the greatest for a restaurant trying to be all fine dining. Server wasnt rude or anything just no where to be found most of the time. The restaurant tried to cram as many people as legally possible inside (servers were constantly bumping into us sitting down) so server was spread thin all over the place. I dont blame them too much. However, server just took so long for things, taking orders, getting drinks, etc. Also forgot to put order in first time. I know experiences can vary with servers but just had an off night I guess. Would I come back again? Only if I have to. Go to the other Italian restaurant nearby for better food at least.

We decided to try this place over North Italia which was my first mistake. The menu was very frustrating along with the waiter. He could barely speak English. The food was just ok. I ve had better Italian food. I didn t realize this was a chain. We asked the waiter for our check and we decided to give him a cash tip (25 percent). Well, this lil sneaky SOB decided to add an additional tip . Capital one sends notifications every time your card is swiped. I contacted the business the next day and asked for a manager. The lady I spoke with said her boss would be in around 3 i clock and she would have her call me and give me refund. I ve never heard back from them. People please check your receipts these people are liars and thieves. I would never eat at this place and I will tell everyone I know what happened at Taverna. This place sucks!

GREAT PATIO/OKAY FOOD/RECOMMEND FOR JUST DRINKS AND SNACKS: the food isn t the best Italian food I ve had. I ordered the focaccia appetizer with the secret menu item chicken Parmesan with spaghetti. The focaccia come out looking like a plain, flat pizza and was missing its iconic airy texture. As for the secret menu item there s probably a reason why they removed it from the menu. The chicken was tough and the spaghetti over cooked. However, the atmosphere is great! If you can get a patio table, it s a good place to people watch. Service was also good. I would recommend you come here for drinks and light snacks instead of a full on meal.

Food was solidly good, but nothing was super special about it. Their drinks are alright. The gnocchi short rib dish was super tender but nothing unique about their sauce for that or for the meatball appetizer. Their bread with the meatball appetizer was stale and gross. For the tiramisu - way too creamy. Definitely needed an extra ladyfinger, but honestly I feel like even with an extra one it would still be mid. Get literally any other dessert here. If you want tiramisu, go to a grocery store or the other place with tiramisu down the street - itll be better than what you get here as Tavernas tiramisu definitely doesnt satisfy any tiramisu cravings.

Coming in to the restaurant was very nice the host was going to seat us inside but I believe the manager told her to seat us in the patio which I appreciated because it was a really nice vibe . We sat at the bar and had their antipasto Emiliano dish. It came out with a big bunch of grapes that were all squishy and overripe. It came with two cheeses one of which was unedible. It came with three meats one of which was a greasy salami. One of the others I have no idea what it was but it tasted like bologna and Ive never seen it on a meat and cheese tray before. We took a small to-go box home but we left the bologna meat and the unedible cheese. The prosciutto, the bread and the parmesan cheese was terrific and they did bring us really good strawberries to compensate for the extremely overripe grapes but overall I would not order this item again

I decided to finally give this place a try although I has previously passed it on numerous occasions. *To be honest, the gf was the one that wanted to go. My thoughts: - Typical West Legacy type of vibes in there when we first walked in. I felt that our server when he first came to the table quickly scanned me to try and figure out what my net worth was so that he could tailor his service accordingly. First Red flag. - I ordered their orange vanilla french toast and it came with very little syrup on the French toast (see picture). I dont think you should drown your French toast in syrup but at least give your customer an option to add more syrup if deemed necessary. But of course the server never asked.. - The French toast was undercooked and gooey in the middle (see picture. zoom and you will see). Like come on people who messes up French toast?? - I did not bother to ask for more syrup or complain about the undercooked French toast. I was not in the mood. Just wanted to pay and keep it moving knowing that I will never be back here or recommend this spot to anyone else. - To their credit gfs plate (Eggs any style) was fresh and we had no complaints there. We also got some seasoned bread when we initially sat at our table with what I think was a pesto infused olive oil. I wanted to leave this place with a Viva Italia sort of feeling but... again why would an Italian restaurant be called Taverna when is an Integral part of Greek food culture and not necessarily Italian.. The 3 star rating is a very generous one.

My husband and I went have Valentines Dinner at Taverna Plano. Bad idea.. The food looked like was just heat up and came extremely fast, about 5 minutes after we order. The dessert ( molten cake) clearly frozen, was still cold and not molten. I make it better at home all of this food. Both of our pasta had some seeds on the middle of the dish that didn t belong in there. The service was ok, we order bread twice on the appetizer bcs he didn t told us that already came with bread the first. Tables were very close to each other because of Valentine s I guess. The waiter butt was almost on my husband arm several times when he was in the table next to us. But honestly mostly disappointed by the food quality. We paid a lot and expected to at least eat a good food on a special night.

Sooo it was ok. Although our waitress was very sweet, she wasnt very well informed. My friend wanted the Blood Orange Margarita and asked if there were other tequila options other than Patron...waitress told us no. I could see at least 4 other options, as were sitting directly across from the bar. She was like, Oh I guess we do. We ordered food later, once it came out, I asked for cayenne pepper. She said we only have pepper flakes. I told her to ask the chef. She came back with cayenne and told me she didnt think that was an option. Our food was only ok. We ordered the Chefs Focaccia which was decent. We also ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese and the Gnocchi. Both lacked flavor and seasoning. The sauce tasted a bit watery. It didnt have a what Id expect from a red sauce. Neither of us finished our food and didnt take it home either. Little disappointing! My Old Fashioned was the best part of the night.

When we reached the restaurant around 6:00 the hostess was rude to us and told me that I should have booked a reservation in advance on the contrary they told us to come over anytime . Then I was told to wait an hour. After an hours no one contacted us and I called the restaurant and was told that it will take another 15 minutes. Now we were already waiting for over an hour and No one called us for our walk in booking. I really don t understand why the managers don t hire more professional staff . First, let me start off with its very rare I trek up north for anything let alone a random leisurely late lunch with friends. This area was so clean and families were around taking holiday photos. I even got to cheer on a lil guy who was shy with a photographer. Such a cute area.... However. As Im walking in Im greeted by the general manager Alysia I think. She welcomed me and showed me to the best table in the house where I could see it all. I started off with calamari which lets be honest.... Stole the show... I also had a lil secret menu item ... It brought out the devil in me because, next I order a delicious cocktail. Cant remember the name but it was tequila base. I was able to share a pasta Bolognese.... Ooof I wish I would have gotten one Togo. I was so stuffed I could not even look at a dessert menu. I have two more times Ill have to visit up north and Ill definitely be back. The way Mario guided us and met every single need was amazing . Ask for Mario his service was exceptional. Parking: Take an Uber and order that second bottle of wine... Trust me

I could eat the focaccia bread until I burst. I wasnt, however, impressed with the bun on my burger.... It was a bit too dense... Warming it up or toasting it may have helped.... But it overpowered the meat.

Our initial visit to this establishment was an unparalleled experience with amazing food and impeccable service. Regrettably, our second encounter fell far short of these expectations. The contrast between the two visits was quite stark. For our second visit to Taverna, I had secured a reservation a day in advance. However, to our surprise, upon arrival, the hostess informed us that we would need to await our table, despite our prior reservation. She requested my contact information and assured me of a call when our table became available. A party of three women, who arrived after us and also held reservations for the same dining time, were subjected to a similar delay, ultimately being seated ahead of us. Ten minutes after the party of three women had been seated, I decided to approach the host stand to seek clarity on how much longer wed have to wait for a table. The hostess appeared to have forgotten our prior interaction, despite our having been in her presence less than ten minutes prior. Eventually, we were ushered to our table. Our waitress, once seated, exhibited a kind and welcoming demeanor. While the food was satisfactory, it was noticeably lacking the exceptional flair and artistry that had defined our first visit. Notably, the absence of the cheese wheel, used to craft Cacio e Pepe tableside, was a glaring disparity between our two experiences. Overall, our second visit to Taverna proved to be a rather disappointing affair leaving much to be desired.

We have been to Taverna several times. I must say this was the worst. The lasagna was at best a 2 ranking. Near tasteless. The meatball appetizer just barely warm. Two times we waited with an empty table, for about 10 minutes, for drinks ordered. With 3 different dishes, we were only offered new plates when we asked. When it is on, Taverna can be good, but inconsistency pushes one to never return.

I have gone to Taverna a few times over the years - the Legacy location as well as in Dallas. I went to the Legacy location with my daughter yesterday and had the most miserable experience. We got there shortly after 1pm. The restaurant was not too busy. We were seated in the two-seater booths next to the bar. A waitress immediately came to ask if we wanted drinks and we placed our drink order. Got the drinks and was going to place our appetizer order but she never came back. We watched her walk back and forth several times, talking to other patrons and making drinks at the bar. Eventually, I got another waiters attn and told him that we hadn t been served. He went back to the bar and addressed it with her - she made a face like she didn t care /she wasn t going to help us and continued what she was doing. He seemed a bit frustrated as he had his own section so went about his business. Probably another 15 mins later, another waitress came to get our order - you could tell she was forced to do it. The food came quickly - the fries with the burger seemed stale. The check came and we paid - I still tipped because I m just used to tipping but wrote a note at the top that the service was poor. There are way too many restaurants on that corridor in legacy west to provide such bad service. I will honestly never return after this experience.

Finally, a carbonara like Italy! In a recent trip to Italy, I was on a quest for the top carbonara and had the dish multiple times trying to find a great one. Who would know that I came back to North Dallas to find a great carbonara at Taverna. Wow! So good. Cant wait to go back to have it again. My wife had the lasagna and it was really good as well. Parking: Garage elevator (if you use the correct one) is about 25 yards from Taverna door.

I dont normally like to leave these, but my most recent visit to this location (9/2 around 9pm) was so far below the normal standard of this location that I needed to. My mother came to visit and wanted a new place to eat, and I suggested Taverna as every experience (10+ times) had been fantastic prior to this. My mom is from a town in which Olive Garden is the only Italian food, so I assured her she was in for a treat. We sat for about 40 minutes before our drinks were delivered, and only at that point was our food order taken. In the end, we sat for about 75 minutes before food was tableside, and the lasagna my mother ordered looked like it had been left sitting in an oven for far too long, and tasted that way as well. The bolognese pasta two of us ordered seemed like it was reheated. Overall, the experience wasnt what Ive come to know of Taverna, and it was disappointing to have this experience after I had bragged to my mother about the great food and service. I may be back again, but concerned that the quality has gone downhill so fast.

The Good - Plenty of vegetarian options - The risotto blew our socks off! - We tried 2 cocktails and both were very good - the lavender one is phenomenal - Excellent service (Thanks Daniel) - Complimentary birthday dessert The not so good - The ambiance is good but the tables are too close to each other - we expected better seating - The eggplant parmesan could have used some more flavor Vegetarian options: Definitely try the mushroom risotto

Disappointed since the last guy who helped us here was awesome very nice and patient. Kid-friendliness: This place is not kid friendly at all I can say for sure those girls hate kids. We always come here and everyone is nice, but this time new waitress Miriam treated us so badly and kept flirting with the older business guys at the table next to us. She wanted to get rid of us so badly that as soon as my husband left to calm our baby she put someone s dirty dish in his plate and took it, when i asked was he done since I knew he was feeding the baby and didn t get a chance to finish his food she said yes. Manager came over and she lied to him too. He ordered a $25 ravioli that only has 5-6 pieces so if there is one or two left u don t assume he was done u ask first. I can go on about everything that she did wrong but lying in our face to the manager is just something else.

First and foremost the food is out of this world good. Myself and my friend ordered a few options to taste test and so glad we did. bolognese was tender and the pasta was fresh, the gnocchi was rich and decadent, broccolini was crispy and cooked perfect with a pink if heat from the chili flakes, the house made bread and pesto sauce to dip was fantastic, we also ordered the meatballs for a starter.... the sauce those meatballs come in is outstanding. I coukd bath in that sauce! And the ceasar salad was crisp and fresh with fhe tart salaty dressing. Service was also amazing, our cups never got empty and our server came out often to tend to us and check on us. The only complaint I really had was the seating. I reserved online and when we got there was offered a tiny table for 2 against a wall by the door. My friend and I are bigger in size and knew that wouldnt work. Its also very loud inside the restaurant. When I pointed out the seating issue our server was super cool about it and helped us arrange ourselves outside instead. So they were able to accommodate us and still check on us outside. You must go and enjoy!!

I have been here half a dozen times since it has been opened. However, I will say that this will be my last time. We are paying our check as I write this. Service from Alessandro, our waiter, was good and the hostess was friendly. Overall though, this place is on the decline. My husband ordered the Truffle mushroom pasta and did not care for it at all. He does not like cream sauces, which is not the restaurants fault. So, I switched entrees with him, I took his Truffle pasta and he took my Salami pizza. The pasta was ok, not out of this world. It was like a battle between dairy cream and truffle, not very balanced. The Salami pizza was visually appealing, yet the overall flavor did not come together, I could taste each ingredient individually,, but no blended harmony. Lastly, I told the hostess twice that the bathrooms needing tending and on my second visit to them the condition was the same. Urine on the floor, no soap in the dispenser and no paper towels to dry my hands. Luckily, just outside of the bathrooms was a table with paper towels to dry my hands. Overall, disappointing and the mark was missed.
