First visit here. Pleasantly surprised. Clean restaurant. Got a chance to try the chicken katsu, steak, and kalua pig. Katsu came out hot and fresh. Steak was ok. Kalua pig was good maybe just because it s been a while since I ate it. Mac salad was okay too. I thought the portion size for the price was pretty good. I might have been disappointed had this been a plate lunch I ordered in Hawaii but it s acceptable for TX. My son commented that the guy who took our order at the counter seemed nice and smiled a lot.

Food was okay. Chicken was pretty good. Teriyaki steak was inedible.. obviously a cheap cut of steak and cooked well done. So, it was a chewy, gristly mess. I didn t even eat it. So, the up charge for this meat is so silly. They also got my order wrong. I asked for white and received brown rice. Not a big issue but for my first time experience that sucks. The restaurant itself was pretty slow yet many of the tables weren t fully clean. So, i had to table hop several times. Overall, I probably won t return but it wasn t bad. Just avoid the steak and you re good to go. I guess.

I had a salad from here, it was so bad and expensive for what it was, I could ve been better off with a salad from the grocery store. I got there around 30 minutes prior to closing and the staff gave me an ugly look and mumbled something to each other, I wasn t greeted by them. The inside was dirty, tables were dirty.

Use some salt!!!! I like this place, the prices and amounts are great and the food is alright, but damn, please just use some salt. The rice and katsu chicken are bland, they seem to skip the salt when making these. The other types of chicken are better because of the other spices, but would be better with some salt.

Make sure to clean your grill regularly. I was shocked by how much soot ended up on my chicken it was inedible. Even after wiping the chicken with napkins to remove some of the soot, it still tasted like charcoal.

Good food portions on the mini. Pasta was on point today. Very friendly staff. Lady up front greets everyone with a smile and is accommodating. Got real busy while I was there and she still treated everyone the same. Was surprised that a second register was not open to help with the back up. All staff members were busy doing their jobs as well. Maybe just short one person? Good location for lunch.

So used to live in Hawaii for 8 years. The food here is pretty darn good. L&L is still the standard but Mo Bettah comes close. They seemed to be understaffed but did their best to get our food out past. They were friendly and helpful The food is great. Love the macaroni salad. Recommendation: offer some short ribs. Atmosphere. Clean restaurant with plenty of seating.

Fresh and super delicious! The meat is grilled with such great flavor! Tastes like I m at a backyard BBQ - the perfect amount of char and excellent marinade/sauce. The macaroni salad is amazing and the rice is sticky and like candy with the sauce you can add on or mix in from the meat. Be sure to order extra big portions to either take home for later or eat for lunch the next day. It s very addicting and you ll wish you had more later :)

The food is great but service when the cute little lady isn t there is horrible! Today is 8/6/24 and I called 5 times to place a to go order. And was on hold for 5 mins each time and someone kept answering and hanging up. I was trying to call in a phone order so I can just come in a pick up. And the men in there refused to answer the phone. I thought they must be overwhelmed with orders, and weren t taking phone orders. But when I came in it was dead. And I told the tall man with a long pony tail and beard that I ve been calling for 20 mins and showed him my phone log and he had nothing to say. And just said what can I do for you. That s really unacceptable that they weren t answering the phones for 20 mins! Im shocked. But what can you expect when there s a bunch of young employees all at once.

A literal 10/10 experience, my second time here and my day was made. I ordered online and didn t realize the cookies had coconut so I asked about it and the kind cashier, said she could switch my cookies out or substitute them. The food is quite tasty here. The Kaluha Pig is always extremely tender and juicy. The shrimp tempura is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside as it is made just before serving. The macaroni salad is a favorite for us with little bits of carrot shreds in it. Both the white and brown rice is cooked tender. A choice of sauces is given to accompany the meat. Joanne is usually at the register of the Plano location, and she is always smiling and exceptionally friendly and efficient. Sometimes, there is a line to place your order and/or receive your food, but it is worth it once you receive your food. Love this place! The only thing I would tweak is to turn down the volume of the music, which can be too loud, especially during busy times when lots of people are there. Parking: Many parking spots around the restaurant, although it can get busy. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids plate that comes with one meat and rice, which many kids like, or you can get them the macaroni salad which is quite tasty just on its own. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking and a ramp is right by the front door but no automatic door to the restaurant. The concrete floor ensures easier mobility and there is amble room to maneuver where the drink station and cutlery is kept.

First timer here. The food was absolutely delicious ! I got the Classic Ekolu which came with 3 scoops of rice, Mac salad, teriyaki steak, teriyaki chicken, and kulau pig for 19.49 and I added 2 tempura shrimp for 3.29 for a total of about $25 bucks. I AINT MAD. It was delicious. My least favorite was their Mac salad pretty bland. but compared to Hawaiian bros, this place is farrrr better. Same price for better quality AND quanity. to everyone who is going to Hawaiian bros ditch the bros, come to Mo Bettahs. Edit: decided to go back it was so good. This time I changed up the meat selection. I tried the katsu and pulehu chicken. It was mid. But Still delicious! Did not top the classic ekolu plate. I think that will be my go too. Their steak is the highlight in my opinion. So yummy. The steak was the only thing that remained the same when I ordered today. Oh also, their POG drink. scrumptious ! lol and their cookies ! I was trying to get my body right so I ordered some grilled chicken and katsu chicken as Moh bettahs. It was absolutely disgusting. The grilled chicken was flavorless and they didn t even think to add salt or anything on it. I nearly vomited after every bite and am still contemplating life after eating it. The katsu chicken was the same except crispy. Overall this pushed me to tears and to the edge -Juice world. The mac salad was alright but I will never come back again.

This was my second time visiting a Mo Bettahs location. This one was good, but the Utah location was much better. The service here was A+ and we received our food really fast. We decided to dine in. The atmosphere was nice and the area was really clean. We both ordered Mini plates and had more than enough food. Between the two of us, we had the Teriyaki Chicken, Kalua Pig, and Teriyaki Steak. All were good and tender enough. The Teriyaki sauce is one of the best sauces that I ve ever tasted. Be sure to join the Mo Bettahs Rewards. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! As you can see the pictures, I pulled a large piece of hair out of my food immediately after getting it which I waited for 30 minutes for, things happen completely understandable the point I m trying to make is that none of the cooks wear hygiene equipment to prevent this from happening, and my concern wasn t acknowledged professionally. I pointed out that I had a large piece of hair in my food and the staff member immediately asked what do you want me to do about it? I asked if I could please just get a new one and he huffed and puffed and said fine and walked away not even a sorry, no acknowledgment whatsoever, very unprofessional and rude. Five minutes later, my new food comes out and it s way overcooked and burnt because they rushed to get me a new plate or did not care. VERY DISAPPOINTING I will let everyone I know that east here not to come here, poor customer treatment.

I took advantage of the bogo special and tried two (2) meat plates. Plate 1 tempura shrimp and katsu chicken. Plate 2 teryaki chicken and Pulehu chicken. The katsu was completely carried by the sauce, as there was zero seasoning on it. The tempura was unique in how it was presented. The shrimp batter was a bit greasy, BUT they were decently seasoned and a nice size. The teryaki chicken was just that, nothing notable or stood out. The Pulehu chicken was MARVELOUS. I will get this EVERYTIME. I wish I ate red meat, as they were cooking steak along with the other meats on the grill located behind the register (enjoyed the view) and if the steak is seasoned like the Pulehu chicken, it could be a winner. The Mac salad is too slimy (too much damn mayo) and the shredded cabbage should have been seasoned, as well. Overall, not bad, just tighten up the seasoning and pull back on the mayo

The food is very tasty, the service very friendly, the place very clean. We live closer to Hawaiian Bros but will be making the drive further out to this delicious gem! The manager was so courteous and so kind to our kids. Its also very affordable.

Love the chain, been to this location two days in a row - getting the Da Big Boy. Wednesday evening was great, just as expected ! Thursday I was there for the rush hour, they got overwhelmed, 20 minutes in line, limited entree choices and the brown rice came out dry and hard (mac salad was still great). I hope theyll do better for me next time.

it was my first Hawaiian food experience!! i wanted to try all the different meats & flavors and thoroughly enjoyed it even tho it was a bit on the saltier side the steak teriyaki was the best, along with the kalhua pig the side sauce they give is salty but tasty overall i loved my first experience with this chain

A very average Hawaiian chain restaurant with average food. Both teriyaki chicken and steak were dry and not very flavorful. Macaroni salad also very average. Compared to other chains, Hawaiian Bros is better all around. Compared to non-chain Hawaiian restaurants, there are many that are much better. P.O.G. juice was nice though.

Went here with a friend and it was our first time visiting. The cashier was super nice and walked us through the menu and what customizations we could make. She was super attentive and kind. The spam musubi was nice and the portions were amazing for the price paid.

Update: Went back, ordered a mini 2-choice and a regular 2-choice. The mini is the perfect size for lunch and reasonably priced at around $10. The teriyaki chicken was very good but the steak was disappointing, dry, tough. This location may be too new. Consistency is needed. Previous: Well seasoned, reasonably priced. The chicken was a bit overcooked. The steak was cooked perfectly and was our favorite! The rice was also good and we surprisingly ate all of the macaroni salad. I would give 4.5 stars if possible. Looking forward to giving 5 stars and trying the katsu (sold out), maybe on our next visit. Sorry about the pics. We started eating, then decided to take pictures after realizing how good it tasted.

No one in the restaurant at 6:30pm. Sticky tables.Had to go to 6 tables to find a clean one in an Empty restaurant. Trash on the floor. Cold meat and rice. 46 bucks for junk! No wonder there s nobody here. To bad. I normally don t give reviews but my mom was so excited to go since she is from Hawaii. So we drove 35 minutes. What a bummer!!

All I can say is WOW! This has easily become my new favorite spot. The food was absolutely incredible! Everything I ate was delicious and the meats were soft and tender. But the food pales in comparison to the INCREDIBLE service we received from the girl at the counter named Jessica. She was so kind and helpful and if she isn t the manager yet, this young lady should get a promotion! Thank you so much Jessica for your kindness, enthusiasm, and outstanding service! I would give it a solid 4 stars....food was decent but the lady at the counter was awesome! She was very friendly, helpful, and patient! Would most definitely come back cause of her. Food (got the Ekolu....3 meat option) was ok above average for mainland Hawaiian/ local style food better than anything I had in the Dallas area! Kalua pork lacking of smoke taste and Pulehu chicken and teriyaki steak was a little cold, saw everything was pre cooked not made to order which was sad to see!? Still nothing like back home but still decent!
