This is a great dog park- the only downside is there is always a medium to large muddy puddle or two that smells like sewage. Since my dog is white she always finds it. I wish the City would fix that. We still go..

this is the best dog park in dfw in terms of attendance and vibes! there s no agility equipment but the dogs that come in are always the sweetest (and cutest!) lots of dogs here and my small dogs can be pretty timid and picky socially but are always able to find a friend here

I guess all dog lovers do.visit this park to be happy and make their special pets happy! Its good overall. Playground: Has a good play area for both the young and small kids. Lot of fun rides and swings, slides to enjoy along with water splash. Kids of all groups will enjoy! Dog-friendliness: Yes, a separate dog park for pet lovers. Picnic area: Picnics can be planned and enjoyed here, a trail walk is also nice to do. Overall Windhaven Park is good, Many a time even an Ice cream truck is also available. Has huge parking space. Its a good park with no cost attached to it.

This is a great dog park! Lots of space and has a mini trail to walk on; while doggies have fun, I am able to get some physical activity. Only thing is that sometimes they close it for weather but it s hard to find when exactly they close it. It would be useful to see online when they will close unexpectedly. Other than that everything is great!

This park is hit and miss. When pet owners follow the rules, it s a great place for my dog to stretch her legs and play. BUT, some people think they can bring snacks to share which causes problems with dogs fighting for snacks or begging for more. The rules state NO FOOD. Period. And sometimes people bring more than the allotted max per person or bring the big dogs into the small dog park area and it becomes an unsafe environment for all. I really wish this park was policed so that offenders could be cited and removed for not following the rules.

My family and I were visiting Dallas for the weenend and chose this park for the access to a playground and dog park before getting back on the road to head home. The park was beautiful but we were bummed we couldnt let our fur friend run for a bit due to all the gates. There were at least 5 other dogs I saw out there that would have enjoyed the dog park too. The kids enjoyed the playground though. And the trails were nice for walking the dog. I just wanted her to get off the leash since she hadnt been outside and off her leash in a couple of days. There were no signs posted as to why the park wasnt open either.

Love this dog park, but it s never open. They close it for any rain which sucks because you won t know if it s closed until you drive all the way here and find out. At least if they close it for wet conditions, it d be nice if someone updated their page. We loved this dog park to take our two black labs and walk while our dogs played until yesterday. Yesterday our dog was bit by the largest husky we have ever seen. The owner was sitting across from us under the pavilion on the phone the entire time her two huskies were running around. Great, huge park for dogs. Easy to social distance as long as you avoid the front pavillion as people tend to gather there. Grass is kept nice, and the park is cleaned regularly. No dog park is perfect, but most owners here watch their dogs and dont bring in aggressive/non-fixed pets. That being said, be wary - there is one aggressive pit (grey with pink collar) in the park constantly, and the owner is always MIA. If you see this dog, just leave, its not worth risking an incident. Park has a nice walking path on the outer rim for owners to get some exercise, too. PSA - dog parks are for dogs, not children. Theres literally a separate childrens park right next to it. The dog park is not a petting zoo for non-owners either. Please keep kids out and keep dogs in the appropriate area based on size. Update Fall 2023 - The park is still in good condition and is well maintained. My only major comment this time around is on dog owners. One dog/person can ruin it for everyone else, and that happened today. One dog was running aggressively at cyclists along the fence and triggering negative reactions from other dogs, and owner is nowhere in site. You have a responsibility to stay with your dog/keep an eye on them for disruptive behavior and remove them from the park as necessary for not only their safety but everyone elses.

This is a lovely dog park, but is also excellent for kids. It has a kiddie park (ideal for toddlers and new walkers), a big kids park, and a splash pad. The pavilion nearby is quite large! There is also a nice open field (ideal for catch and kites). There is a paved walking path that circles around the field and connects to paved and unpaved paths. Bring chairs and a canopy tent on the weekends...the pavilion is popular! Also, reserve your pavilion spot for special occasions!

love the dog park itself but today I had a not so pleasant experience. One last took a child there to pet other people s dogs. They kept picking my dog up and taking pictures with him without asking. After that I saw a teenager and what I could assume was her little sister come in to the dog park. I walked around and noticed the little girl was holding my dog while her older sister was taking pictures with my dog. NOT okay behavior. I will not let that happen again and will not leave my dogs to play by himself if I come back there. I mean I would never pick up someone else s child and take pictures with them ..what s wrong with people

Absolute BEST dog park in the area! My dogs get excited the moment we pull in the parking lot. Pros: separate small and large dog areas, double airlock entrances, paved path around the park for walking while your pup socializes, several watering stations, trash cans, gazebos, places to sit, both shaded woods and open fields, and bathrooms nearby. Its not a typical dog park experience. If this is the only dog park you ever go to, every other park will be disappointing. Really nice park, its Plano so you know they have the money to maintain it. Grass is always green and theres shockingly very little to no poop anywhere. Massive dog park and the owners are mostly really nice. Could be a little more shade but there is a shaded area off to the side but its all covered in rocks and mulch. But ultimately its my favorite dog park. It s clean and you can tell they maintenance it. Children show up here a lot which is frustrating, especially since my dog has never interacted with children like that. Although, I never expect kids to be a dog the park (wrong on me I guess). The dog parents aren t attentive as much as preferred. The amount of times I ve had someone s dog attack mine and their parents are taking a phone call on the other side of the park. Nothing is wrong about the park itself, it s just the people that come here. I d recommend going to north bark personally as the dog owners are attentive to their dog and I never see kids.

Absolute best dog park in the area! The small dog section is so much larger than any other dog park Ive visited. It is well maintained and I love that it has grass instead of wood chips. My dog loves coming here and playing with the regulars.
